Stopped at chapter 523 or so. Story was becoming very repetitive and although the MC goes through a power growth, the actual relationship between the MC and the ML doesn't go very far. If anything, their relationship was annoying and didn't seem like they truly like each other very much at all. Maybe it's the black belly trope but I didn't garner much satisfaction from the 'bl' aspect of it.

Now, the world building was really cool. The pill creating and the mages and the contract beasts were fun. I just... more>> wish we could have sat in that a little bit more. The story kind of went in a cycle of plot every 300 chapters or so. Therefore, not a lot of 'new twists' were really added.

But reading it the second time. I'm growing dissatisfied with xiaomo. He's the typical cannon fodder type with big backer. He keeps on offending other people, brainlessly. He's not actually kind. He's very condescending where strangers in later chapters who tries to be friendly were treated weirdly by him like with an attitude of, why is this guy talking to me. So annoying. And he's getting useless younger brothers. He's really proving how foolish he is, but it's not cute. I guess I made a mistake in re reading it.

He want to be lowkey but he's actually an attention seeker. In a way where he runs his mouth and offends many people. How brainless. His IQ dropped ever since he fall in love and have a big backer, his husband. He want to be lowkey but he's acting the opposite. So immature. Not cute at all. <<less

This is something you wanna read when you're bored, the starting is kinda boring and yeah but it gets better.

Because I am an extremely picky person with these novels so I normally barely have anything to read, and this is one of the few novels with many chapters that actually managed to keep me reading to the end.

I rarely ever write review because I'm lazy busy, but this along side TGCF and SVSS are my personal favorites

The truth is that it's a good novel and it's really funny and entertaining. The novel is around Momo, who is a alchemist, you won't see him fighting or being super strong. Which people said that make him a women (pretty sexist), but he is a male, he is just a nerd type. The only thing that I don't like (update 2024, I love this novel, it's good, it doesn't have r*ape like girls are saying or violence, just the ML being a jerk, but his action always put MC... more>> education and growth first)

it's the way of their relationship with the ML, I would love to see them fight, got a big arguments or at least see some action. Something like, "if you want to kill me, then do it." *walk away like a bad b*tch.* (he did this and end up being save by the ML) I hate how they treat him like "s*upid" when at the end they all hundred or thousand years old and he is just 19 (this is true, it's annoying but ML it's not a perfect guy, his mother is guy and he was lied his whole life, anyways) XD How dare... Also, at the end it's pretty repetitive, and the arguments even if it's funny (nah, it's just MC personality hahaha he even lost a few fights) , I wish they gave more deep to all the characters (maybe a little growth to the contract beast) At the end they leave all the beast behind which made me sad because it's like they don't exist (they did) .

It is a good novel, one of the best for beginners in my opinion, the introduction to the world, the characters. Don't let the bad reviews guide you, because people tend to want perfect relationships, with perfect ML and get trigger very easily.

I enjoyed this novel. It's great for people who wanna step into cultivation novels but have no idea what's going on because the translators are sweet enough to have explainations tagged for anything possibly confusing.

Plus the dynamic between momo and boss Xiao is funny. Starts off kinda toxic but you see their romance develope to the point where both parties need each other. And I love the Qiu team!

I am currently at 146 chapter now. Till now the only thing that I have a complained about is the ml. I don't know if he will change or not because this story is really long. But I can't stop myself to leave a comment before continuing.

Till 145 chapter the ML makes me feel very infuriating. He is really manipulative. Like he says stuff that he would like the MC to depend so much on him that the MC won't be able to do anything without him. ML keeps calling... more>> MC s*upid, idiot. He keeps hitting MC oh his head constantly. Till now it's very clear he sees MC as someone very weak. But this story makes it seems like it's okay for the ML to treat MC like that 'Just because he has feelings for the mc' 🙄

And the mc's character feels like really willy nally. Like he does not seems to have a voice in front of the ml. He'll get angry on ML but within a few seconds he will stop being angry and let ML treat him however ML likes.

Sometimes the MC will show his disapproval by only throwing a tantrum but then the ML will threaten him, scare him and the MC will stop. Like literally he will do everything according to the ml.

ML seems to get entertained by seeing MC scared. And in the story it was made seems like 'teasing'. Regardless of everything till now MC seems like falling for the ml. ML also lies a lot to MC. And the story shows it as a form of teasing.

One time they were talking about something serious, when ML asked if he (mc) thinks he (ml) is lying, MC said yes. So ML simply throttled him to change his (mc's) answer. And to make it seems like it's okay the ML kissed him next.

ML is very dominating, overbearing. Sometimes being dominating is good.I have read stories with dominating ML and also liked it. But this one gives me negative vibe. There is a really obvious power imbalance between ML and MC even though ML have realised he likes MC nothing have changed I'll say.I don't know if it remains the same when they are officially together. I expected ML to change this overbearing behaviour a little after he realised his feelings. But no he is still the same.

He still threatens MC, scares MC if he feels like MC is not doing anything he likes. The only thing that is changed is that he will occasionally talk with him gently or give the MC a soft look.🙄

I am only reading this story because of the plot. It seems kind of different than other transmigration stories that I have read till now.

I find it pretty toxic till now. The ML is clearly not a good person. He is a RED FLAG.I sincerely hope he changes. Otherwise I'll have another ML to hate and another story to dislike. <<less

At first this book is addicting and entertaining.

The MC, a modern guy finds himself in a total foreign environment and change accordingly. Unlike many other novels he keeps himself away from trouble, but unluckily, troubles find him wherever he goes. MC is hard working and doesn't take anything for granted, making us, the readers motivated as well.

ML is unbelievably strong and he is flirty as well. His handsomeness is overwhelming. He is smart and cares a lot about the MC.

The plot is quite interesting but this novel is a bit draggy. At first you can binge read this, but later it gets boring. I myself experienced this. After I read this for a while, I got tired of reading, I spent at least one month on this. I don't regret reading this, but still couldn't convince myself to end this.

If you have patience you will be able to finish this. If anyone is on the fence whether to read this or not, my advice is this book is okay. <<less

Read this novel 5 times throughout 2021. I must say that at each arc, there will be different adventure building up to the finale. Worth buying data for. The fact that the translators and editors managed to completely translate the whole novel with very minor error did it for me.

Love the characters. They are not perfect but they complement each other. Just consider them a sado-maso couple. I have read this novel a number of times but the most fun was reading it this year with a group of folks and sharing our reactions along the way.

It's long. EXTREMELY long.

But the author does a good job growing the relationship between the MC and ML and the perspective that the MC has on the world.

Author definitely has a sense of humor and there are lots of ridiculous episodes and jokes built along the way. Some of the most ridiculous things are never bothered to be explained, like how... more>> the higher dimensions are just larger and a city might be bigger than anything you can imagine on earth but simultaneously we have OP characters who can just make their way across the city in just half a days walk.

No explanation needed just enjoy the crazy naming schemes, the ridiculous plots, the over the top first encounters, and I promise you want to read the extras for resolution about unexplained questions. <<less

It's pretty boring...

Just like what some other reviewers had said, the MC has no depth to his personality other than being a pushover that has absolutely no boundaries whatsoever.

And the ML is just a weird demon (?) That honestly is what kept me going because I thought what the ML is would be interesting to figure out and see what problems they run into that way; but he's just overpowered as f and the MC isn't even curious about what he is. Currently at chapter 110, and there still isn't... more>> any mention about what exactly the ML is.

Also there's no stakes to the story at all. It has just been, make magical pills, fail, make it again, succeed, people get jealous, MC does nothing about that. There is nothing that keeps me invested into the story, everything is conveniently placed so that it pushes this ambiguous relationship, and sometimes doesn't even do that? It's just to show what abilities the ML has and causes MC just to rely on him even more.

The side characters are truly the definition of cannon fodder, one dimensional, only to serve to move the plot forward (even though nothing even happens). All the women so far are described just for their looks and how attracted they are to the ML. Literally nothing else. I find some of the language about women to be pretty misogynistic too so that really turned me off.

All in all, I tried, but I don't think I can read any further because it's just not entertaining at all. <<less

The MCs attitude is kinda cute and sometimes u wanna choke him because of his s*upidiy xD meanwhile the ML is so smart to the extent Im wishing I had his iq instead and he's really reliable. So many people have commented so much good stuff so imma keep it short and say if you like novels with tons of adventure, cultivation, pill refining, magical beast, naive protagonists (with a sharp tongue), top bullying bottom with hint of smut and good world building and plot, this is for you. Seriously good stuff!

I enjoyed the alchemy setting, which you don't often see, and the MC getting stronger and more skilled as the story progresses.

However, I feel the side characters and their stories deserved more focus. The plot was also very predictable and things went their way too well, it could have done with more obstacles and challenges. Other characters were pretty 2 dimensional and present just for face slapping and showing off for MC and ml.

The MLs attitude to MC was way too harsh, constantly insulting and forcing him. I had hoped... more>> this would get better with time as his feelings deepened but there was no such redemption. ML could have expressed his affection better but instead it seemed more like he was just using MC for s*x rather than love and stayed with him for convenience. <<less

I genuinely really like this novel despite the few problematic aspects >_<

What I enjoy:

    • I personally love novels with OP protagonists so if you enjoy these sort of characters I would really highly recommend LMW. The MC appears to be outshined by the ML by a little bit due to the innate nature of their abilities but the MC is still seriously amazing and leave people in awe.
    • The face-slapping is everything
    • I love watching our MC grow from knowing practically nothing to becoming someone powerful
    • The overall plot is interesting

      Most transmigration novel does tied up the ending with the MC going back to their original world and usually it's simple but I really like how it was written for LMW, I ACTUALLY CRIED SO HARD our poor MC finally learned the truth behind his family and his death, and his family's reactions my goodness it broke my heart how they reacted when they met him again ;-; I'm so glad everything got resolved.

What I didn't like:

    • The sexism in the novel seems pretty obvious to me and almost every female characters were some sort of villain. It just left a bad taste in my mouth.
    • There were some plot holes here and there, I'm actually kind of s*upid so 99% of the time I don't even notice them but they were obvious enough to be noticed here. It feel like the author emphasised certain parts but barely follow up on them and other times they just drop a bomb on you out of nowhere so as a reader, you'll end up questioning the plot a few times.
    • Some arcs feel a little repetitive and doesn't add much to the story but went on for like >50 chapters. However this is a hindsight kind of complaint cos I feel scammed but when I was reading the novel I was still very much engrossed LOLL

Someone recommended me this novel, and I am truly disappointed.

From what I read so far, the MC is nothing but a burden. He would have been dead a million times if it isn't for the ML's presence, and most of the time it's because of his own absurdity. Although his early day enemies are all jealousy type of folks who bring death upon themselves, the later one are mostly caused by MC's loose mouth.

And despite all the troubles he has made, he is very shitty at protecting himself as well!... more>> 🙄 The fact that he has the dimension buffs, which is so against the sky and can be used to escape from danger at will at any necessary times, but prefers death over revealing his dimensional secret, makes me speechless. The ML is equally absurd too, oh my god, I'm so frustrated. Who in the world will leave his unconscious lover, who is now surrounded by the kidnappers, alone in the open space while he himself actually has his own freaking dimension to put the guy in for safety sake????????? 🤬 I'm so irritated!

I know there's still a long way to go until the end and it isn't good to criticize the story so badly since I am only half way through and the later part may get better, but I really can't help it! My frustration is accumulated for 400 chapters and I have to come and vent here first! I'll come back to edit my review when I decide to resume the story, and hopefully I will be able to finish it at the time. <<less

To start off, I quite enjoyed the first parts of this novel. I started to read this novel seeing so many people gave it a high rating so my expectations were quite high. I don't like to read novels with weak protagonists and easy to control/use/manipulate MC by their love interests but unfortunately it's what I feel about this novel. There are some good parts, but there are equally some disappointing ones.

The MC was smart and adorable but he does get annoyingly dense at times. The plot was entertaining and... more>> new for me but then as the story progress it kinda felt boring and repetitive, I just lost my interest. I like long chapter novels but it's sad to drop this one. The things that I didn't quite like or the things that made me drop this novel is that whenever MC is with ML he becomes s*upid, enough to make it irritable (for me). When he's with other people he becomes so badass and cool but when he's with ml, either he becomes s*upid or they have s*x or something else which is making me feel like they lack something.

Don't get me wrong, their smex scenes were all good and all but ML just feels off to me. The relationship that they have seems to be controlled by only one person. It's quite off putting to me how whenever MC does something wrong (even just a little), ML would 'punish' him and by punishing him means s*x this and s*x that. It just feels like ML has the hand in this relationship and it just makes me feel that MC is like his little doll that he can protect yet control everytime. MC has to be cautious in speaking with others because of ml's possessive and jealous traits which really is fine but not at the same time.

In a relationship both parties should have equal grounds and I just can't see it in the aspect of their relationship. It just feels missing... ML tries to get away with hiding his secrets by

It was a good read but I got pretty tired of it when I reached up to chapter 300 something. It was good but I just got tired of reading it.... The plot was predictable yet fun and the relationship between the ML and MC was adorable. He would always tease the MC. There were times where I wished the MC would just get smarter and be like "Im not an idiot B) " but that ain't gonna happen.

Welp. I didn't feel like dropping the nivel and forced myself to... more>> reach up to ch 400 but in the end I couldn't read ot anymore. Luckily I found someone in the spoilers who sums up practically the whole novel so I read just that and it was pretty intense.

When reading the novel I kept messing up the names of everyone and often forgot who they were and by the end I was just reading words without processing anything. It was too long for me. <<less

Another very disappointing novel.
No pros, all cons:
* ML and MC are Marty Sue (and never fails)
* No character's growth (no-fail -> no grow)
* Dumb and silly MC
* Plain, bland and tasteless world and cultivation system (I don't find the difference between levels as there is no advance, only the names of pills and magical herbs are changed)
* Absence of interesting plot (the main characters always win and receive the next treasure/pill/herb/magical beasts, and that's all. In the beginning, it's still ok, however, 700+ characters repeating the same things with different names is boring).

As one of the reviewers mentioned earlier, if you skip 100+ chapters you won't miss anything. I skipped from 200 + characters to the final and then dropped this novel.

I meant I read it all in just a week and now I'm sad because I'm definitely going to miss this cp so much.

I'm not gonna say so much, so to those who were hesitating to read such long book, I can only say that it's totally worth it.

This is my very first Yaoi-tagged novel. I didn't expect that I love it so much that I was able to finish it so fast even though it has 700+ chapter.

The plot is so exciting and the banters and moments of the MC's are very sweet with comedic vibes.

The translation is excellent.
