This is such a sweet story. In terms of romance, the couple's interactions are normal and yet so sweet because it is the type of romance that is possible in real life, but hard to find. The interactions and plot try hard to be realistic with the author sometimes putting too much explanation, but that might be because most novels of this type are drama-filled, non-realistic and trope-ridden.

Reading this story is like floating gently down a river - no fuss, just a placid journey. That's its strong point but also its weak point. The beginning starts off great, with the exploration if how they get together, and anticipation for how the arrival of the original novel's female lead will shake things up. But after these points are resolved near the mid-end of the novel, things got very bland.

Which doesnt help the case when this same author ironically falls into the typical romance tropes she's been disparaging by the end of the novel/extras.

The novel is quite realistic. It is actually like "A Slight Smile is Charming" but with a smarter (?) protagonist. The EQ/IQ of both characters is high and their characterizations are quite consistent. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but many times, you just want to sit back with a cup of coffee, read a soothing story & relax for the evening. This story helps you out.

As what was written in the plot, she doesn't know that she transmigrated in a novel so all her actions throughout is based on her own reasoning and not due to some agenda. She's decisive and rational (plus points), got great characteristics but not a Mary Sue.

This story has very little angst/drama which is the entire reason I decided to read it (conspiracy/scheming is fine in moderation, but it does get frustrating after a while, and I was getting tired of all the manipulative love interests).
