I am Owen Pepper, the heir of a Noble family.

To begin with, there are two kinds of people in this world. The aristocracy, winners from birth, and the rest of the losers, the cattle. I am a winner, of course.

Bwahahaha. Livestock, you can work hard for me today. It is the only thing you lot are good for!

I have been reincarnated as a tr*sh aristocrat. My father was a villainous lord. And his son, Owen, has been deeply influenced by his father and has grown up to be a fat, incompetent boy!

If this continues, my future is in jeopardy. … But I do not care about that!

“I heard that there is magic in this world. If we are going to go to all this trouble, let us try to master magic!”

And if you are having fun learning magic, you will soon be able to break the stigma!

It's not very exciting. Every arc seems to be things happen just because the author wants write that event happening, with no explanation about why the characters act that way, what relevance it has to anything, or what might happen in the future.

In fact, I realized as I read the latest few chapters that I've never seen the protagonist even consider what would happen more than a week in the future, and that was one time (and the goal was "I want to hit some guy once because I lost... more>> to him in a practice battle when I was at my weakest and he was at his strongest").

That's the other thing, it's extremely petty. There's not even as much ambition as various slow life protagonists (like a farmer who keeps coming up with projects to help the people around him, or someone who wants to live life comfortably with space magic who keeps on considering various futures while slacking off as much as possible). The only way his reincarnation comes into play is to give the character a sudden personality change at the start and make him say he's not a lolicon repeatedly while being a lolicon. He's easily the most childish character in the story.

I think with the same characters and basic story, it could have been OK if anything consequential happened at all? The plot's just so unambitious that it's boring. <<less

Plot armor. Tons of plot armors.

Author trying to paint MC with character development but failed miserably. There's barely any character development until the latest chapter.

The story become stalled. Scenes that don't matter suddenly appeared and left forgotten, and they weren't even the side stories. Why must you put forced, unrelated chapters as main story when all the purpose was to introduce some characters out of nowhere?

... more>> I swear I feel like I've just wasted my time reading this far.

PS: MC is miserable. Spineless and miserable. “Oh no I was too late to save them” well no sh¡t, Sherlock. You only think about yourself despite acting like a seigi no mikata.

Dropped. <<less

This is your usual isekai story, with a generic MC who has little creativity and don't want to deal with his issues (e.g. His terrible reputation) because of.. Reasons? Despite all the advantages he's got, it really feels like the author likes him to be humiliated and do nothing about it. He's got as much power as he'll ever need in the form of magic, but it feels like he's been jacking off with it or something. I mean, fireballs are nice and all, but was that all you could... more>> think of?

The plot is inexistent, which isn't a surprise. Other characters are undeveloped. Few actual descriptions. The translation quality is lacking, but honestly I don't mind it.

The thing is, it's not even bad as far as isekai goes. It's just unexciting. <<less

New review! Turns out my review at c14 missed the mark completely!

So this is basic, so basic in fact I wonder if it was meant as an homage to those early Saturday morning cartoons. One dimensional characters, mean parents, hidden angst (MC literally has 'inner demons'), shoenen rivals. Everything the industry grew out of is used. It's enjoyable but I'm pretty sure it's meant for 8yr olds or nostalgia.

I'm always a sucker for transmigration stories where the protagonist takes over the body of some awful bratty person and tries to be better; don't as me why I just am. The thing about this story is... it's boring. the protagonist hasn't really changed since the first act, the secondary characters feel like puppets and nothing that's happened in this story is, well, interesting. It's not bad per say, it's just the story equivalent of going through the motions. The protagonist is bland with no real objectives aside from one... more>> lame fighting arc to another, the worldbuilding is focused just on the magic slapped over some European setting, and the dialogue is dryer than a store bought baked good. <<less

This was a pretty solid novel. The flow was clear, the characters were well developed and quite realistic, and the story ended in a solid fashion without dragging on for too long. I appreciate how conflicted the MC feels over magic and death - his reactions feel quite understandable and reasonable, even if he doesn't turn into the alpha killing machine some of the other reviewers seem to wish from him. He makes progress in his own way, and the author generally does a good job pacing this growth.

That said,... more>> the ended was definitely rushed, and many plot points got forcefully resolved one after another. It's a bit frustrating since the test of the novel was quite well done, but otherwise it's a pretty solid read. <<less

Don't waste your time with this shit. Over the years, I've dropped very few things, and this novel is one of them.

It was already mediocre in the beginning, and then it went downhill.

A student can literally try to kill the MC with magic, and the only punishment that he gets is a points deduction in the test, the same punishment that the MC got for showing off his own magic earlier in the chapter.

Also, same student can break the rules in a field trip, almost gets him and some classmates... more>> killed, and gets no punishment whatsoever, with the teacher, for some reason, taking the blame on herself.

Every story needs an antagonist, but the author clearly needs to learn how to write one. <<less

I hope it will be a story about the main character's period of study but what the content moves too fast, what happens to his life at his castle and the time in school takes place the school was so short that I don't know what he learned in that time it made the story boring

if you don't have anything to read, you can read it, though you really shouldn't expect much

have some forced scenes that's just there to get things done... more>>
Spoiler

like his interaction with his first love interest candidate

[collapse]

it's the type that I might not even continue reading after catching up to latest translated chap, heck I might not even catch up cause I might forget about it and just drop it before that happens

it's just not my cup of tea really, and I might just be the problem... cause I've read novels that have many forced plots but still enjoyed it, sadly this one didn't really piqued my interest... others might like it and be entertained, well to each their own I say <<less

'don't expect anything'

can you add more word to make the story more dramatic, emotional or easier ?

this story skipping way to much word you know. Dear author this story come from your imagination, unless you say (write) it other people won't understand. I mean I'm not some superhuman who have an ability to read other people mind you know.

come to think about the title, it's quite different with story itself.

This is the first WN that I've read after taking my hiatus, last time was Mushoku Tensei.

Let's get to the point, if you ever read Kamachi Kazuma-sensei works (Toaru), then without doubt you'll enjoy this novel. The way author wrote protagonist POV, narrates what's happening on the battlefield, explaining how the magic works, background history of each characters somehow feels similar to Kazuma-sensei writing style.

By all means, protagonist is aware that he's strong but not the strongest, so that's why he develop his own magic to tackles all challenges. Sometimes... more>> protagonist also conscious of his companions and the surroundings, openly expressing his interest, dissatisfaction, strength, and many more. In other words, he isn't your typical whimper, dense protagonist like other works with the same genre.

Each story arc keeps me engaged and curious, for example like pondering how the protagonist will solve this problem, how he deals with his opponents, his relationship with the characters, etc.

Then again, this is based on my personal opinion, of course not everyone on the same page as me.

If you're tired of the repeatedly isekai formula, which is :
1. OP protagonist solves all the problem without breaking a sweat
2. Protagonist have Harem
3. Rarely surprise elements in the story

then this novel might be the one you are looking for. <<less

I wouldn't recommend this novel to anyone. I kept reading in naivety trying to see if it the rhythym and the flow of the story would get better but it didn't improve. The narrator is very wishy washy and it seems like the author skips over major portions of plot for the sake of convenience. The protagonist has the power to defeat another psyche but has problems with pretty much every thing. The MC gets walked all over by everyone including those close to him, it feels like the author... more>> is living vicariously through the novel but with the intention of being subservient. The novel goes on and on about ideals but the protagonist doesn't do anything to stand up for himself. How are you supposed to be invested in a character when all they do is sulk the whole time then they do something amazing with little to no indication of growing strength. It's like "Oh everything sucks. Might as well train." *time skip* Then the MC believes he's still weak. The plot armor is so thick in this one that I honestly think that what I read was lazy writing.

I don't write reviews often but when I do, I believe in them whether they are good or bad.

Also take this with a grain of salt. I'm not saying that he's an OP protagonist. The protagonist gets power ups very conveniently with little explanation. <<less

A dull review for a dull story. The writing quality is mediocre, the translation is bad, and the author is either too lazy or too unimaginative to properly flesh out the magic in his story. It just rushes straight to building his reincarnated isekai school girl harem. But even that is dull.

The concept is interesting but other books do it better. I would recommend ignoring this.

I thought the MC would be the embidoment of a magic nerd that would literally do anything to learn magic, a literall magic maniac but he just ends up as a boring but intellegent (I guess?) MC. Not much to say tbh story is a bit generic.

Incredibly frustrating to read. MC doesnt act like someone who reincarnated with memories. Never utilizes his memories, never even attempting to recall knowledge that can be used from earth, push over. I thought it had its moments but the novel generally made me feel frustrated.
