What’s not to love about my new life after transmigrating into a Pet-centered world?

There are mighty creatures that come in all shapes and sizes. They can either be cuddly companions, helpers in your daily life, daring scouts or strong fighters. Or all of the above. Not bad, huh?

I have a family, but the fact is completely overshadowed by my younger sister. She thoroughly hates my guts, and she makes sure that I know this. Every. Single. Day.

Did I mention that she’s disgustingly talented while I am a bottom feeder? A terribly handsome one at that.

I have free rein to run the family business on my own. A small and quaint Pet Store. It should have been great if not for the fact that the previous owner of this body was born with ZERO affinity to handle Astral Pets…

I wasn't actually planning leaving a review but the sheer amount of people who misunderstood this novel pushed me into writing one.

Now, first of all this novel isn't perfect. There are plotholes, forgotten storylines, powers, characters etc. Sometimes author just end them with a couple of sentences hundreds of chapters later and sometimes he simply forgets them. And it is a little irritating.

Secondly, MC is definitely not perfect. There are times he makes wrong decisions. There are times he uses faulty strategies etc.

Aside from these points this novel is pretty... more>> good. MC is definitely different from typical CN main characters. World building is pretty good and there are many interesting characters.

If only MC weren't denser than a black hole... <<less

The author is sloppy and has poor plot construction ability. What I mean by that is frequently support characters arrive on scene and go "missing" for globs of chapters or don't reappear at all. As an example, he's given a super bodyguard who after a couple of chapters is given the 'wait here until I return' order, but when the MC returns the bodyguard isn't mentioned or reappears all the way up to where I'm currently at. It's quite possible the author "forgot" all about the support character and left... more>> yet another "loose plot thread" dangling behind the story. <<less

So it's definitely a pretty stereotypical cultivation manhwa past a certain point with added flare being pets and the system, but it works well. Ended up reading the whole thing in like a week (headaches keep reading sessions short), so I can say it really got me invested in the story.

also that there was actually an end point to a cultivation story was a new touch to me personally and I honestly prefer concluding stories so that was nice Xd.

Wasn't expecting to get omniscient reader viewpoint'd right at the end there though, started tearing up like with sss class su*cide hunter, ORV, and second life ranker (I think that was the third one)

I must say, it was a long journey with an even more beautiful ending. I can relate to some people hating on this novel, it did get on my nerves once in a while with repetitive writing and dumb villains, but in the end, it got better.

I enjoyed this novel, even more, so that ending, that's why I gave it 5 stars.

The only thing I don't like is that in the end, we still don't see him come back, only everyone is waiting for him. Just one sentence would be enough, even though we already know, that he is everywhere, in everything, with everyone.

It is fun to read, mildly entertaining with nothing new to offer. I gave it an average score up to ch 400, I'm afraid if I read more my score would be less. At ch 400, the MC would succeed to supress all the powers in his city; and we all know it would be just a copy paste w/ different power levels and names from here on out.

I started reading this novel because I had nothing better to do. First what is wrong

1 like most system novels the system puts the plot forward

2 the MC is dumb it is agonizing. Like in the novel he goes in separate spaces where he can die instead of to going to his many cultivation sites where he is virtually Immortal

... more>> 3 the MC is so overpowered for his level that he makes his own cultivation system redundant

4 The MC instead of cultivating goes into unnecessary events the hole ark where it will be a lot shorter if the MC doesn't face Lab every Single person

5 he doesn't Cultivate at all unless it's absolutely necessary

6 the is a novel about pet battles but as The novel goes on he stops using his pet more and more to a point where it is a bad cultivation Novel with pet fighting on the side

The are the bad that I can think of the good is

1 cultivation System is more unique than completely generic novels

2 even though most of this novel is just face slaps there are some good arks later on

3the MC doesn't go after girls left and right and the novel has Ginger quality meaning the MC will Beat both male and female

so overall it's a pretty lackluster novel with not enough good pints to read. Unless you have a lot time and have nothing better to do it does get better around chapter 800 or so but most people won't stick with it for that long <<less

At chapter 481 and decide to write a review.

It starts off as an annoying system that making a unreasonable rules that can be said outdated though it is also in a way fair.

The story progress from the MC s*upidity and then become cruelty with a somewhat boring villain.

... more>> There is two kinds of villain, that is the stronger one which been beaten by the system store security mechanism or the weak one that try to insult MC and then been killed.

The annoying is the pattern is always the same, s*upid and weaker than MC try to gloat over MC and then MC suddenly killed them (too much death over something trivial) and also even when losing and not yet death they still speaking bullsh*t like they are thinking that MC will be afraid and then death again.

You should include 'gore' category for this novel considering MC kill people easily, well the people also kinda s*upid and arrogant too many times, but too much killing.

The author also kinda skipping many things. I wonder if I read at a wrong site so I skipped some things or the author really kinda forgetting what he write.

From chapter 481, I have a feeling that author really forget it. At that chapter the MC kinda sell 'cheaply' two ninth-rank beast for the first time. But at the chapter before that MC using many, it is important very many 'intermediate beast rings' to capture beast pet at 8th and 9th rank but never appear again to sell it in the store.

Isn't that s*upid? Also cultivation world which MC can take 24 hours in there as 1 hour in real life.

Why the MC not using that to increase his strength, the time length will provide him with plenty of time to strengthen himself. But all I see is training pet without ever thinking to using the time difference to increase his strength. He always pointing at resource like the divine pond or item but never mentioned to using the time. <<less

Really enjoying the novel at the moment.

Basically Pokemon but more brutal where the MC also fights alongside their Pokemons.

Great fight scenes with decent cultivation system.

MC transmigrated to an alternative Earth with a typical cheat. In his case, he got the 'system' that can actually communicate with him 24/7.

Overall, I think the novel is pretty good and you should definitely give it a try.

It was pretty good starting out, but the whole tournament arc part started dragging a bit too much and got boring. And how he handled the situation was just not satasfying at all, 75% of the situation was his fault in the first place.

Overall pretty decent story till around here, it just drags too much and I cant be bothered to continue

This story is the definition of a 3 star story for me fun but incredibly inconsistent sometimes one of the MCs pets is 100 meters next it’s 50 sometimes x rank can kill 100 of what’s below it sometimes 4 or 5 the author entirely forgot the prices for the store being 10k low rank 100k mid rank and 100 times for professional training and it’s been condensed to 100k for normal 1 mil for professional the author has basically forgotten every element of the store other then training as... more>> it seems he is no longer interested in writing a store owner story and just wants to go more generic beast tamer but lacking in heart If the story declines further it could reach 2 stories but 1 star stories for me have to suck beginning to end and have no redeeming qualities as I don’t think 0 stars exists <<less

One of the most interesting and stable novels this last period.

Some minor spoilers ahead about the world of this novel...

We have a reincarnated MC from a similar world of ours to a cultivation world. At the start of story our MC is a bottom feeder but through the pet store system he gets stronger progressively. This cultivation system is based on absorbing astral power inside their bodies, refining it and stroring it. There exist 3 major realms so far: Warrior, Legendary and Star. At the Warrior realm exist 9 minor... more>> reamls under 3 groups: Elementary (1st-3rd rank), Intermidiate (4th-6th rank) and Advanced (7th-9th rank) and each rank has 4 sub-categories from low to intermidiate to late and to peak. The difference between each rank is based on the amount of astral power you have refined in your body. In order to advance to the Legendary realm you are required to have comprehended enough a Rule/Law. Since advancing to Legendary compared to being a Warrior is irregular, there exists an additional realm in between: the Titled Warriors. A Titled Warrior is basically a 9th rank Warrior who is on his path to achieve the Legendary realm. The difference between Titled Warriors is their battle prowess, so their ranking is more fluid compared to the others. At the Legendary realm you have three categories with 3 subs. The Ocean state, Fate state and the Void state. After that are the Start Warriors where we don't have much information so far. Additionally the cultivators can contract beasts/pets to fight with them. The restrictions for contacting are as follows:

-The pet can't be too much stronger that you (1-3 minor ranks above you and the stronger you become the smaller this gaps becomes) so you can keeep it under control.

-While you are still a Warrior, based on your cultivation there is a limit in the total number of beasts you contract and on their strenght. For example a rank 6 beast takes more of your strenght than a rank 5 beast to keep contracted.

From world building the author has decided to explore the world together with the MC. This means that we also learn most about the world together with the protagonist. So far we know that the planet that the MC is on has 3 huge Sub-Continents. In each continent exist Base Cities of verious ranks 3-1 with 1st rank being the best. These cities resemble more like frontier towns on unexplored lands. The technology is more advanced than ours (from 30 to 100 years if I had to guess). Furthermore, there exist a human Federation in universe that we don't know much except that they are stronger than the people on the planet and that the goverments on the planet are managed by them. Moreover the Being behind the system of our MC is possibly on at the peak of power that presides over the Laws that make up the world. For some reason that we don't know yet the system urges the MC to train pets (for the system pets is everything that is alive or can cultivate) and compared to the established economy the prices ratio to service that the system is cheaper can be many times cheaper (I have failed to see where the MC has extorted someone for no reason for many. Contrary you could say the services he has provided for the society, he has lost a lot of money). Lastly the quality standards on the planet are extremely low compared to the Ancients Periods. For instance, the cultivation techniques being low quality (body cultivators being almost extinct) , stronger beast than Legendary not existing on the planet (as far as we know). This leads to everyone being average or below average in battle strength for their rank. You will see the MC training pets that acquire high battle rating while having low cultivation. That doesn't mean that MC cheats or that the pets are extraordinary. It is that after countless years the common standard and qualities of pets and cultivators have deteriotated.

In this paragraph I am gonna talk a bit about the MC, Su Ping. He is carefree and almost lazy person that doesn't like complicated situations like politics. He can generous and caring but he can also be ruthless, cruel and petty against those that have wronged him. He is a person that likes to repay those that have shown him goodwill with goodwill (artifacts or advices). He gained his "evil" side from training in the cultivation lands of the system where he can respawn and have gone through A LOT OF death-respawn cycles. He generally doesn't like to offend people with more authority or strength because it is troublesome to deal with them (He is on a different playing field with his system which for now we don't if he is alone or not).

/*SPOILER AHEAD* In the tournament arc the Liu family despite having more authority and "exprerience" in pet training store thing, they still tried underhanded means and butted heads with the Su Ping's store for no real reason. First Su Ping can't proccess too many pets per day due to the low capacity of his store compared to the whole customer pool, despite the fact that if you look at the montly or annual total customers he might be on the very top. The Star Organization girld was somewhat unlucky. She poked an annoyed and overprotective lizard that turned out to be a bloodthirsty and tyrannical dragon. She was arrogant and didn't belong to that tournament for various reasons. She got what was due for her behavior. For those that don't know she came at the finals of the tournament to participate, effectively skipping the whole proccess, while her battle prowess was 2-3 ranks above the normal. The maximum cultivation rank allowed was 7th but because she was a body cultivatior she kinda circumvented that rule. She was like boxing against kinds while she is an adult that goes to gym (its pointless and illegal). The MC despite having a low cultivation has and artifact that can boost his astral powers intensity (not purity and I am not sure about the ammount) at the 9th rank and for this reason he can battle title pet warriors and 9th rank beasts without that help of his pets./

Another point that I love about Su Ping is that when he deals with an enemy or someone that schemed against him, he deals with them properly. He either kills them (which happens somewhat rarely compared to the amount of people that "offend" him) or cripples them (mostly financially). Somewhat might think that financial crippling or financial damage might be nothing but you are wrong. When humans live in a community wealth will always be a major factor towards authority and aqcuiring power because when a comunity exists, trading exists and trading needs a currency. Also in this world his pet store is the best road to acquiring power but the minimum transaction needs a lot of money for the common people (but its worth the price).

To sum up everything, the author so far has done a good job and has fixed a lot of problems that typical xuanhuan novels face. Lack of character growth, an extremely fast escalation of events after the mid point of the novel and ingenuity. From how much I have seen so far the novel is for the long run (at least from what the author wants) and if nothing unexpected happens irl, the novel will probably exceed 2000 chapters. So far we haven't seen why the system exists, has chosen the reincarnated Su Ping or this Era but I hope we get some hints soon.

Some *SPOILERS* ahead:

What I would like to see in the near future is the author mention a bit more the special resources he gets from the cultivation realms being sold or used in proffesional training (and charged extra (we kinda saw that at the tournament proffesional training)). More pets would be welcome. At the next level of the shop Su Ping should get an option to expand the shop. For instance so far everytime Su Ping upgraded his shop, he got better services (like better nursing pens) and more room inside his hop. I would like the physical expansion of the shop to be seperate from the quality upgrade of the shop. Maybe in the future when the employee section is a bit more explored, to have the abilty to open branches in other cities. Also I would like for Su Ping to grow closer with Tang Ruyan. The recent developments due to the clashing with Tang family have shown that behing the arrogant and haughty facade Ruyan is a kind and gentle girl that has been broken and betrayed by her own family. It doesn't need to be rushed as I had gotten accustomed with the novels speed, But I sincerely hope something good comes out both of them as there is chemistry between them and they can fill in the gaps of the characters of each other (She is a little better at political plays as she has grown up inside a huge political play. And I am sure there is gonna be a need for someone to become the of the shop in negotiations for alliance or trader, etc. Su Ping can't do everything with an iron fist. Tang Ruyan could be an excelent choice. Also I am sure his character and his EQ gonna see a huge development). <<less
