Su Shuilian was the first legitimate daughter of a renowned embroidery family, but she was mu*dered by her jealous family member. After death, Su Shuilian’s soul enters an unknown female body who lives in a dynasty she had never heard of.

While trapped in the wilderness with her wolf pup companions, Shuilian rescues an assassin who was betrayed by his organization and saves him from the brink of death.

After making it out of the dangerous forest, the two travel to a small town with few inhabitants. There, they find a location with a picturesque scenery and disguise themselves as a married couple to buy a house to settle down in.

It's a really lovely slice of life kind of story. I don't get it how people think that she comes from some ancient time, she is clearly transmigrated from the modern China, from a rather traditional family to some ancient time.

Love this story. It's fluffy, not much angst 'till now. So much adorable shy scene from MC because misunderstood ML words. Can't wait to see their marriage life ^^

Fun reading, but stretches believability.

Spoiler

She arrives in a new world and then a tiger and two wolves kill each other, providing food and other materials.

Then the wolf cubs for some reason decide to bond themselves with the MC, and they also seem to understand human language.

Then she comes across some magic water that has miracle healing powers.

Then she comes across an assassin who gets killed by some people but somehow survives (those assassins don't bother checking if he's still alive), and then she saves him with the magic water.

Cuuute~~~ Basically a girl from the ancient period reincarnates to the middle of the forest in another ancient period. She saved a talented assassin that was being plotted against and they end up living together. That's the story so far, it's very cute, lighthearted and soothing. Unlike other reincarnation stories, she didn't came with advanced knowledge or fortuitous encounters that makes her a ruthless genius. She's just a gentle, slightly naive, and kindhearted young miss trying to make a living with help of the assassin she saved.

It's too soon to... more>> tell if it will end up being a generic scheming female lead or cultivation genius assassin story, but it's off to a good start and a nice fluffy read so far. <<less

* Dropped at Chapter 37.

Despite being titled "Assassin Farmer", our two main characters haven't even gone near a field — and I'm nearly at chapter 40.

If we're going by the title's focus, the protagonist should be the assassin ML (who I assume picks up farming eventually). I can't really tell what the MC's supposed to be contributing here, other than being his trophy wife who embroiders and is so dull that she never speaks up for herself and doesn't even consider haggling when more than half of her original funds... more>> had been lost right at the start of her transmigration.

I get it, it's a story about their romance and whatnot. But there isn't much to read about either? The ML treats her with so much unnecessary fragility that I had to check whether I was still reading the same novel; she had been living in the forest by herself when they met, and he doesn't even trust her to do basic tasks without him around?

When they leave the forest, he insists on carrying her all the way to the village. A few chapters later, it's mentioned how her body had been strengthened by that miracle medicine. So like... why? She's going to live in a village — did she not even think of getting some exercise in before facing the inevitable physical work she'd have to do for a living?

But I guess even if he toned down the helicopter parent-ness and actually let her do something that isn't breathing, it wouldn't make much of a difference anyway. They run into practically zero problems with any lasting effects on their lives. Everything is solved by a cold look from the ML or an inexplicable cheat encountered by the MC.

No, I'm not kidding. Just transmigrated? Don't worry, you're starting off with a perfect new look and tons of cash! Want to set up a first meeting where the MC saves the ML? Well, he's about to die and she has no medical skills, but... oh, what about that priceless miracle elixir just randomly dripping in some cave that she found? Yeah, I think you get the point.

I'm an avid reader of the translator's works, so I'm inclined to believe the endless yapping is just the author's inexperience at writing. Seriously. There's an entire chapter dedicated solely to describing the furniture and layout of their new home. The best description of the plot is "things just happen".

TDLR; bad writing, lazy writer. You're better off reading your grocery store receipt. <<less

This is a 3 1/2 stars but rounded down.

The story starts off pretty well with a girl being transmigrated into a fictional ancient era after getting mu*dered put into a coma by her father's concubine. Then it stretches on and gets kind of bland. The later part of the story drags before the ending but that focuses on side characters so it isn't at all satisfying.

We do have a brief moment of the FL waking up from her coma in her original reality and encountering the ML who had taken over her fiance's body. They get married again. But it's a very short chapter.

The story kind of throws in cultivation at one point but not enough to really matter.

The FL finds some mystic potion that she uses to heal herself and also the ML when she finds him. He's also a super-assassin and this lets him push against some limit or other to become even more OP.

There was also very little farming. There was an entire chapter dedicated to what their house looks like.

There are plot points that are completely unneeded and just felt like the author was throwing darts to choose the Plot. For example, the background of the ML and the body the FL is in.

Surprise, she's the concubine's daughter of a high ranking noble. Oh wait. Now she's not and she's actually the only child of his legal wife who was chucked out by a jealous concubine just after birth (author doesn't understand how fragile newborns are I guess). And for further surprise, ML is a Crown Prince from another Kingdom who has been missing for 24 years. His parents have twins after they find him because apparently reconciliation is like a fertility booster.

When it's all said and done, I only recommend this if you're looking for something to pass a few hours and like fast moving stories about transmigration into ancient China. <<less

It's a very sweet, romantic story. For the first 100 chapters is more of a slow life type of novel and it was incredibly enjoyable, then the next 60 chapters rushed all the twists and revelations trying to balance the "drama" of the characters and the original slice of life genre. Meaning all the cool action is never the main point and always told after it took place.

However, simply for the relationship of the ML and FL is completely worth it. They are adorable, sweet, romantic, wholesome, fluffy and cute.... more>> All the other side characters and their romance got a little annoying but the main couple was always adorable.

The translation is very well done and it really helped to understand the flow of the story with all the names and notes it has.

Overall, a light feel-good story that is entirely to relax after reading a heavy novel. <<less

It was cute for a good while, until it wasn't. Towards the end It was kinda draggy, but to the credit of the author, they wrote resolutions for the main/primary plot and subplots.

The translation was acceptable, there were time where some things don't seem to be properly translated, until I realized something kinda important have already happened that I don't think I missed reading. There were also some redirect issues in the last maybe 5 chapters of the main story, where one clicks to go to the next chapter and... more>> the site leads you to a different chapter. It was a bit annoying because the story got a bit boring by then but I still wanted to finish it.

The world building and imagery can be borderline too much at times, with some parts just fully dedicated to describing every tree and plant in a certain scene. It suffers from the usual ailments of c-novels with having a lot of jumbled themes all put together and eventually abandoned in different parts of the story.

ML is one of my favorites, he is quite decisive and dependable. There are some gray areas with him except like

. The second extra chapter story was quite interesting, but it was the shortest out of the three.

This novel felt like a longer read than it should be. Would recommend reading other Ancient China slice of life stories first (like the Peasant Makeup Artist and its other related stories) as their themes are more condensed and the writing more straightforward, before heading this way. <<less

It's a sweet and fluffy story. It's about the love between an assassin who become a farmer for her and a noble lady who wants a simple life, they want to be happy ans they do what they want. It's not a complicated story with plot twist and angst, it's just slice of life and love, the carachters are good and the reading is smooth and interesting.

The only flaw for me is that the story is a bit too long, I begin to lost interest in the last chapters. Also... more>> the extras were not my cup of tea, the girls in there always depreciate themself for the man and even on the last extra, it was the man who decrepreciate himself but I really like to know what become the children.

But in general, it was a good read and I recommend to anyone who wants a simple and sweet love story. <<less

No rating, since I wouldn't have picked it up, if I read the tags. Genre is fitting and the story is enjoyable. But I cannot relate to the MC, she (and her life) just don't feel realistic.

    • Naive/weak protagonist: One of the weakest characters I 've ever seen. MC's happiness is only possible by meeting the right people.
    • Lucky: MC could break her toe on a rock and it would end up being a piece of solid gold.
    • Self-confidence: Non existent. She undervalues her own effort and time while overvaluing everybody else's work. Somebody like that would end up being used by her peers and it makes no sense considering her backstory. At least she should have some pride in her craft.
Judging by the other reviews it gets worse and worse, so I won't continue this.

Argh, how to describe it... They had many fake onions, sad but we know that was just a way to achieve a happy end for many characters, sure I agree with someone who said that they too depend on the s*x scene to develop their feeling, well, for me I think we can still enjoy it

Slice of life that is incredibly simple and very uncomplicated. FL (Su Shulian) transmigrates from the 1930s to Ancient Times. She wakes up in the middle of a forest with an unknown identity. She’s the innocent and optimistic type so she doesn’t despair much after all that happened. Instead, she picks up a couple of wolf cubs and, a little later on, a wounded assassin.

I read up to when they married and then— well the rest of the story, assumedly, is about their life after that. Specifically, living in a... more>> small village, making money through embroidery and martial arts, and dealing with both of their backgrounds (the FL’s background is not simple and is assumedly noble). I lost my interest after a while because I just finished reading a very complicated novel with lots of twists and turns as well as complex characters. Switching to this fluffy sweet romance where everything is simple really threw me off LOLOL. Will come back to reread one day but I’ll leave it unrated for now. <<less

Oy vey. I constantly felt that the good stories were all happening around the MC. I get slice of life fluff but when the author is constantly teasing more interesting characters and stories it gets boring very quickly.

Tell me more about the other transmigrator. Tell me more about MC's big brother's adventures and experiences with falling in love. Give me something more to chew on!

Like a lot of transmigrator novels the usefulness and entertainment value of the MC quickly takes a backseat to other characters making MC a bit character in her own story.

This novel have very wu xia movie vibe to it. (Try watching wu xia movie starred by donnie yen and u get what I mean). The ML and FL is likeable and the fluffy part is very nice for me.

I've lost interest in the story. It was fun in the beginning when the main couple was working together to create a life for themselves, but after their birth parents find them it starts going downhill

I like slice of life that show daily struggles of an ordinary family. I am not interested in stories about wealthy people managing large estates, and unfortunately that is what this story became

Super sweet that you might get cavities. Lol

The plot is simplistic and the leads don't really encounter that many obstacles. Very easy going and sweet couple. It's like a palate cleanser to all the scheming protagonists in historical c-novels. The romance is the forefront of this novel. The leads are pretty frank with each other and there's little drama.

Seriously this novel gives me the smiles. This novel is so pure and sweet it's hard not to like them. This really make me wish the quiet country life.

except for the fact that I cant weave a basket, do embroidery and cook, the idea is cancelled.
