My Son Might Be A Villain

Description

Su Ran, a music prodigy, woke up transmigrated into a book.

At that point in time, the main story arc in the book had already been completed. As a villainess female supporting character, not only did she need to take over the original owner’s pitiful life in poverty, she also gained an instant son right at his rebellious period.

Ten or so more years from then, the son would turn into a twisted, evil villain. He would appear in one of the extra chapters to pick on the male and female lead’s children.

***

Su Ran: Son, you shouldn’t be too outstanding.
Su Han: Why not?
Su Ran: ’cause you will be killed.

Su Ran: Son, would you like to learn music from me and become a zen, little fairy boy who only needs to drink dew.
Su Han: No, I want to go into business so I can support you.

Starts as a main character wearing a novel and working to change the ending and becomes a slice of life novel. I do like how the author gives the main characters in the original novel an alternate ending in a parallel universe style. It made me cry so much.

There are a lot of things that make this story a great story, but also entirely fiction, besides the obvious transmigration theme.

The original Su Ran did not deserve everything that happened to her, let's get that clear. She was just a teenager, she give birth at sixteen which means that everything that she suffered, was at fifteen. And she was harassed for the next five years at her "job". She was obviously not prepared to be a good mother or any type of mother at all. I'm not excusing her... more>> behavior towards Su Han, because he is innocent, but I see where she comes from.

The mother and son relationship between the new Su Ran and Su Han is adorable, maybe a little too fast but slow enough to see the little developments here and there that made it absolutely delightful to read.

I found the father and son dynamics to be hilarious.

The ML is nice.

Spoiler

I like the fact that he fell in love with her before even knowing she was the mother of his child

[collapse]

I just like him a lot and I won't go too deep about that, everyone can perceive it differently, but I think he was really good as ML for the specific circumstances, even with his flaws as a man.

Love the extras

Spoiler

I specially like that original Su Han found a little warmth from Lu Shao on their own, meaning that even without Su Ran, Lu Shao would still love and care for his son

[collapse]

Spoiler

I also appreciated that original Su Ran found her own family with someone completely unrelated to the story

[collapse]

Spoiler

I would have liked to know what happened to the Song twins and with who would Su Han end up with, but I'm satisfied with this

Although it's true the MC was reliant on ML to rescue her... she didn't really have a choice. She's a regular girl, her enemies are well-connected moguls.

This is some dark secret-society level threat, not "omg why cant you just stand up for yourself" "say No!".

That's like saying "if jack the ripper corners you in an alleyway, simply say No! and he is legally not allowed to kill you :) "

I don't really get why they labeled her (the og owner) as a bad mother. I mean yeah, I understand that she neglects her son but did they understand her?

She was r*pe (Yes, the ML didn't r*pe her intentionally) but for her own pov, she was r*pe by unknown man, give birth a the tender age of 16 inside of a bathroom. I'm surprised that she didn't mentally break down or commit su*cide (or so we thought since it wasn't mentioned) Like, do u think a teenager can adapt... more>> to that or accept that. Not everyone can accept the child who you didn't know who is the father or child from force interc**rse (r*pe sex) she might been in great shock or traumatize that's why she doesn't want to see her son (?)

Anw, this is just my concern

It's almost like a slice of life. If you're looking for satisfying face-slapping, this is not it.

Romance?... Some, but it's mostly about the mother and the son. ML had to work a bit and the fight between father and son is amusing. I also like how ML teaches his son. Can kind of get a glimpse of businessmen's child raising lessons.

Unlike most transmigrated story where villainess turns out to be a good person and MC takes revenge, this MC is passive and only wishes to survive. However, the fact that... more>> her son came to love her so easily despite being 12 and treated like that for so long might be questionable.

As for ML taking revenge against original ML... It might seem unreasonable to you, but very reasonable to him. That's the woman he loves. If ML can do that

Spoiler

drive her out of her family, tainted her at 16 (FL drugged (resulting in her Su Han) and scared her forehead), lured her into the red light district and let others humiliate her to death.

She was 16 for goodness sakes. After they found out, they (orig. ML and 2nd ML) only apologized in their hearts despite realizing that all the things original did seemed like a child's tricks compared to FL, who had nothing done to her except being ignored by her husband all because she's his wife and mother to his children.

They realized that they bullied back against another bully, who used childish, open tricks when compared to their life ending schemes and retaliations.

[collapse]

to original and knew that he was wrong, but still did nothing else, then you say he doesn't deserve retribution? At least he's left with a lifeline (accusation instead of bankruptcy). What original FL, ML and second ML did to original host ended in her shame and death while they continued to live high and complain about trivial stuff like my husband ignores me. <<less

I don't know how should I rate this, I'm enjoyed it till MC marry ML (around 70-80 chapters). It is all only just fluff till I feel sad about Su Hun. They build the family really dreamy one but when I thought about kid get abused more than 10 years then your mother being nice just a few month happen to marry rich guy then have a happy family, have new baby in only a year? And father treat him like extra? Just want only 2 person world. Send him away all the time. Happen in year, What's the kid might really feel?

But it's still write nicely if you just love fluff. It's really nice read.

Story time line is a bit too rush (mary within 3 months? (Not sure) and have baby in next few month). If author give more time I think it will be more natural. MC marry ML too soon. After married is really bad move. ML want to f*ck with MC and he don't care his son feeling. They never talk about family plan with the son, get marry, have a new child etc, treat him like outsider. Send him away and they never learn to share love. When I read this all of them don't know how to love but they learn to love but the author never write about share it. And it's so sad. Su hun, the son like adopt child. Father and son fight for mother attendtion.

I love childcare story, this novel fail and miss importent point. Really trushy parenting.

At first story seem like mạke the son happy but later it turn out to be 'is MC happy so son will happy' logic, it's shitty.

another bad logic ML make the son being his heir, so it's mean he love him so much?

For me he force him to work for family. Is this happy job? What is his dream ? What is his happiness?

I really disapoint when they become family. Author a bit too rush and don't care.

I dont know how to feel about this. This opinion of mine can very well be the result of reading/studying too much psychology and thus my rosy lense or fan girl heart is tainted by all those years of reality exposure. I gave this 3 stars because, although this is a cute, typical story of someone transmigrated into a book and just want to survive, it is imo somewhat weird.

I study psychology so I know damn well the result of abusive/neglecting parents on children development. And Su Han's personality and... more>> his behavior around his mother, albeit looks cute in the novel, it is not healthy. That's downright insecure, and somewhat anxious. You can see his fear of abandonment in the son. I think the boy deserves more. He's abused and neglected for more than 10 years, the fact that he forgives and becomes protective toward his mother is already a miracle in and of itself. The fact that the FL still meets up with the ML despite the boy show clear discontent is problematic too. It shows that, to some extent they do not respect him. The boy, despite clearly showing his dislike toward his father, has never (at least up til where I read) seriously tell his mother that he do not like the man and inquire his mother to stop making him see the man. You can argue it's probly because he a tsundere and he's actually happy to have a mom and a dad. But it can also because somewhere during those 10 years of abuse, he'd learnt to not voice his opinion because he know it doesnt matter.

Yes, it is a fluff story and the way the author depicted their family interaction is cute and funny. I do actually enjoy those 'tsundere' moments of the son and the gentle care the ML has toward the FL. It is a very good story if you are looking for something cute to read. But remember to turn off your brain, and don't think too much. Don't be like me or what you read will turn into a dark story all of a sudden. <<less

I tried, really tried to finish especially after reading some pretty positive reviews but I can't. It could be nice slice-of-life, return-to-bright-side romance story with positive MC - she's not OP, does what she can and deals pretty nicely with having instant teenage son, and rather typical cold president ML (although there isn't much about him we can see he at least has sense of responsibility) but somehow, somehow, nobody sees a problem with what the original Su Ran experienced. Even if she was selfish and s*upid and so-in-love and... more>> did some bad things (but not criminal? As far as I gathered)

Spoiler

she was a 15-16 yo (a child) who after some s*upid, bad decisions (made because she fell in love and wasn't taught any better!) was completely cut-off from her family, drugged and r*ped, tricked into years of prostitution and gave birth to a son - at the age of 16! It is written "she didn't know she was pregnant until it was too late for abortion" and gave birth in a bathroom! But everyone sees her first as immoral, bad and spoiled, having only love and shopping on her mind. Yes, as an adult she is materialistic, irresponsible, neglectful of her son etcetc, but again - how was she to know better when her world fell apart and she was a rich miss with no worries before? How was she meant to survive on her own, with no education (16 yo! What about her schooling?), no job qualifications and trauma (rape! Teenage pregnancy!) on top of that? Especially when we read that most of her "customers" were people she knew before, who wanted to step on her after fall from grace - even if she was s*upid, bad etc. Etc. It is just too much.

And the ML - when he finds out about having a son and her experience, his first thought is "what a bad woman" - without noticing that he had drugged, non consensual s*x with a 16yo, who later gave birth and somehow managed to survive 12 years - yes, in a dysfunctional way but seriously, in her place I'm not sure how she was meant to do better.

[collapse]

In short, too many issues were just glissed over without anyone mentioning how toxic and sick the background was - it completely spoiled the book for me. And I don't like leaving 1-star reviews but just couldn't help myself. Ugh.

Edit - I won't even get started on the teenage son and mother relationship, it was analyzed nicely in previous comments - it just adds to the list of problems this novel has. <<less

A transmigration story, but not when it's not yet begun, or in the middle, but it's a story AFTER the main story ends.

The story of transmigrate MC into a villain AFTER her fate is sealed as BadEnding.

I didnt feel MC brain to 'downgrade' like the usual MCs (thank goodness!), and no overbearing ML too! Didnt get cute bun, but there's cute tsundere son!

... more>> If I could ask for more, I wish the author would write more of what happens with the protagonists and all the characters that involved there.

And of course, more MC, ML and son and his siblings interaction. I could dream ^^ <<less

Loving the novel! The only thing is that I choose to read this novel thinking the translation was almost complete, however, its not.

You know, it was good at first. The FL was very independent and she used her talent in piano to make money and raise her son. She was very caring to her son...

That is until the ML showed up. I don’t like him at all.

Spoiler

He showed up out of nowhere and somehow fell in love with the MC after seeing her like three times. Then he proceeded to try to get in her like by trying to act like ke was going to support her son, but was actually using it more of an excuse to get closer to the MC.

I really hate how the author wrote the interactions between father and son. He showed no care and treated him coldly. Even though their fight for the MC’s affection was supposed to be cute, IT WASN’T! The child grew up abandoned, he needed more love, and the MC was only like the cold father and cold son are getting along so well, like no b*tch.

Then the ML was forcing his love on the MC, and getting married to her even though we all knew she clearly had no feelings for him. Honestly disgusting.

[collapse]

KINDA SPOILER:

I hated how after the MC started to accept the ML (even though it was under the pressure of being a normal family together) she stared to care less for the son. Like NO. You can’t just decide to give some of your love to your partner and ignoring your son’s sign that he needed affection.

Spoiler

Also when she got pregnant and she stared to ignore the fact that her son, which was abandoned for the first 10 years, might feel uncomfortable suddenly having a new child with a man that fought for affection with him. GOD. And the author just wrote it off by saying that Su Han didn’t actually hate his father.

Also how she was obsessed with having a daughter and was clearly written that she was disappointed that she had a son. WTF you gave birth to that f*cking baby.

[collapse]

Anyways, it was really good at first but at the later half really made me angry. <<less

I honestly curious why does this kind of novel always has minor r*pe plot?

So the og Su Ran was r*ped and gave birth when she was 16? f*cking 16? And she was disowned by her family at that?

I honestly think that that kinda plot just to pin point that she looks so young and unbelieably beautiful to has a teenage son. I always try to ignore this detail when I read the novel, and brainwashed myself that she has her child on legal age.

If you ask me, as a reader,... more>> I found this detail not helping the plot at all. You can on your 30s and still looks pretty. 16, r*ped, disowned, isn't this too much? They all were teenagers on the og novel... All are from well known families? Why didn't they just, go to school?

I can't- the logic.. Where is the logic? You all treated your 13 years old children like kid and was scheming againts others at the age 16? You'll just 3 years older than your kids when the dog blood plot happened?! WTF!! Is it a sin being over 30s?! Why everyone has to be so young? f*ck.

Shit. My bad. I'm not supposed reading this with common sense. And a lil advice, you better not use your common sense either when reading this. The author just blindly ignore all the posibility psychological traumas that normal people could have with that kind of life. It's still pretty entertaining. <<less

I really did like the idea, you know. Trying to reform the villain after the fact that he doesn't like you, you have to prove your change and earn his trust AND ALL WITHOUT ROMANCING HIM! But dear god with the way the chapters are split it is taking forever. I even tried the MTL and I couldn't get into it.

MC is not a good mom, she's like a hands off mom or maybe the ones that act more like a good friend. I just couldn't root for her in... more>> any way. Sometimes she seemed more interested in returning to her recluse pianist life, sometimes her son felt like an afterthought. Like sure she spoils him with gifts but she doesn't really talk to him much or at least clearly (which led to misunderstandings) or considered his feelings. He accepted her too easily in my opinion. I mean his OG mother badly neglected him (she had her own trauma too yet everyone labels her as a bad woman, like she was r@ped, abandoned by her family, basically put into s3xual s*avery by her teenaged love rival - like wtf OG heroine???, constantly harassed, course she's not gonna be all sunshine and rainbows with kid.) Yet all because she changed he becomes incredibly protective? Like she could earn it over time and not so quickly, in fact he treats her like a child he has to indulge and take care of.

ML isn't that interesting either. He's supposed to be some big business guy who was a hidden character in the OG story. But ugh he doesn't seem as smart as he supposed to be, he antagonizes a teenager (how mature 🙄) never explains his actions yet still wants to be around them even after knowing he isn't needed.

TBH I am just a bit more interested in the drama surrounding the OG leads. Their romance has gone dead, OG!ML knew he's been schemed against by her but couldn't do anything since OG!FL baby trapped him after he already declared his love to her to society. She doesn't care about her kids while ML seems to be their only caring parent. But he's also bad because he covered her misdeeds. Even the OG! 2nd ML is tired of her whining. Like that's interesting seeing how this change once the love it lost but I don't have the patience to wait for more of this. <<less

I reached chapter 92 of 95 chapters and 1 extra. I read the raws.

This story starts pretty interesting and very cute. But the flaws keep popping up.

After being neglected all his life, the son accepts his mother way too easily. On the contrary, it took way too long for the son to accept his father, when it should've been the other way around.

... more>> The son is way too protective over his mother, to the point it's annoying.

The way FL keeps rejecting ML for no reason, which is also annoying.

The way ML just fell in love with FL and keeps forcing himself onto FL is also annoying.

The way ML seemed to care more about a woman he just met than his biological son was also annoying.

The way the son keeps disrespecting and c*ck blocking his dad was also annoying.

So... I just kept getting annoyed. So I dropped it when I was about to finish reading this.

I went into this story expecting two parents pampering and raising a previously neglected child and falling in love in the process, but ended up with ML and son papering and taking care of FL instead. So this falls into the Chinese novel cliche where the FL is talented and beautiful enough to make ML fall in love with her, but not as smart as ML (and in this case, not as smart as her son either), so ML (and son) protect and take care of her.

I wanted to read more about her making a fortune and succeeding as a musician to raise her son, instead of having a multi-millionaire taking care of everything before she had to do anything. <<less

I don't understand why people are getting frustrated cause people are calling the og bad mother when she really was a bad mother. I hate her most. Yes, I admit she was very young when she was r*ped and gave birth to a child but isn't it her fault? She schemed someone to get r*ped just for a man but when the plan backfires now, she's innocent! If she was a villainess in a story, then these people would scream and say it served her right! Just because MC become... more>> her she was pitiful. I would still pity her if she hated the og ML in her second life! But no, she didn't!

Spoiler

She can hate her child! After birth she tries to dump him in the toilet, didn't feed him food and even abused him since childhood but some people are saying it's ok cause she's young! (Like tf these nonsensical holy mother's knowledge) Being young never justifies crime! ABUSE IS NEVER OKAY! IT'S A CRIME! GET THAT IN YOUR MIND!

The reason she ended up in this state cause she loved the og ml. But in her 2nd life she still couldn't hate the ml. She married a foreigner, stayed away from him but in her heart, she always loved him. She could love that og ML but not her child who tries to save her while getting r*ped and eventually gets scarred emotionally for life. She still didn't give the child a little pity even when he ended up so tragically. BUT she loves the og ML despite him being the reason for all her misery!

The one I most pitied was the child. His life is so pitiful! He suffered his mother's torture for 13 years! I'm glad the MC become his mother otherwise he would again suffer so much agony! I can't bear to think people justifying a abuser because she's a woman and was young. If a person still doesn't know what rejection is at the age of 15 and trying to cling to a person, it's that person's fault whatever misery will fall upon him or her. As well as still abusing her child at the age of 28, she's really not that young anymore. Even at the age of 28 she still doesn't improve!

She treated the child worse than a beast cause he's not the og ml's child. (*If he was, she would treat them him with love) But couldn't hate the og ML because of whom she lost her family, ended up r*ped and being insulted in the society? She still loves that fvcking bastard in her second life?
She deserves no pity, sympathy or compassion. It's because of her own s*upid reasons she ended up in that state. The only one who deserve pity and love is her son! That pitiful cub! Thank God! The MC become his mother! The og body deserves no pity, respect or love. She's a fvcking abuser. REMEMBER THAT! SHE'S AN ABUSER!
[collapse]

My Thoughts:

A nice read! Would recommend to everyone! A sweet fluff. I really loved our pitiful cub! BABY MOMMA LOVES YOU! <<less

Slight update: Well it turns out the shoujo webnovel curse of worshipping an icy billionaire handsome dude is back, MC straight up abandons her (admittedly not really) her son and more importantly, her capability as a strong independent woman just to get together with Chinese batman. Her capability as a musical prodigy is never really expanded on or even really relevant anymore once she becomes the damsel in distress waiting for her icy tsun billionaire white knight. Shame that this turns out to be cookie cutter shoujo and the unique... more>> plot plot points (villain son and music competence) are abandoned once the 'perfect icy guy' worship starts. Original review;

Haven't got far yet but the splitting up the chapters into 3 translated per one original is a little strange as each chapter is only about 1-3 min read at most.

Story seems promising so far, no strange Mary-Sue self-centered behaviour from lead and no cartoony evil characters dispatched in cartoony face slapping as is trendy with these transmigration stories. MC and their son is decently likeable, with pretty believable character trait, with amusing but naively trusting chemistry between them for a son being abandoned his whole life and a previously high society lady with no experience of raising a child thrust with a kid on her lap. The father to the child is slowly turning out to be one of those icy tsun billionaire that plagues these type of stories though, hopefully the author is not solely focused on fangirling an imaginary bad boy prince and shoehorns a romantic relationship to a successful single lady like many other in the genre.

Main gripe with the translation style is short chapters split to even shorter couple of sentences, sometimes even a full conversation does not fit in a single chapter. Each chopped chapter being a roughly 3-5 min read at most, causing most exchange to not even finish leads to the story being very disjointed as a result. I would personally recommend not picking this up until it is fully translated for the reason. Translation quality is meanwhile solid, very few errors and effort is made to not directly copy Chinese sentence structure but to write in western conversation/sentence style. <<less

This is my first review.. I decided to write a review because I want to let everyone who hesitate on reading this novel know... You won't regret reading this!!

One thing I love the most from the story is how heartwarming they portrayed the family's feeling.. it's not your typical cliche where the girl will be a perfect mother right after she transmigrate and the son will be an octopus that can't bear to be left for 5 minutes.. the son has mother-complex (yes, I need to admit that), but he's... more>> a very cute tsundere boy.. not that novel who will say "I love you *hug* *kiss*", but they use action to show their feeling instead.. >< As an Asian, I'm not used to say "I love you" to my parents (I never said that), and this novel really suit my taste... hahaha..

And the ending...

Spoiler

They show the real situation of the real Su Ran and Su Han.. I swear, I almost cried.. I'm happy that the author decided to give them HE.. and about real Su Ran's complicated feeling towards his son.. that's definitely my fav part of the novel.. I wondered how can Su Han lived for so many years if Su Ran never cared for him.. it's almost impossible IMO.. and when real Su Ran protected him and told him to leave, I almost cried.. ToT and the relationship between real Su Han and his father really warm my heart..

Finally a child and not a baby

I swear, it's really refreshing to read because Su Han is a preteen unlike most novels where the author write about kids under 5 acting really cute and smart.

Su Han is adorable and by far the best character in the story. I love how it's all about MC fixing her relationship with her son.

... more>> Moreover, there are not many misunderstandings and ML is not intrusive in their lives and it flows nicely.

I really enjoyed reading it, however, it kinda got repetitive and boring towards the end but I still loved the story.

FL and ML suit each other nicely and Su Han is just the best.

Sweet and fluffy novel that I really enjoyed. When reading transmigration books with children in it most often you are faced with an adorable little buns that know no better. In this novel the child is already a teenager that has seen the worst in his family and clearly remember it all. Hence why I liked this novel so much - the main characters had to put more work into winning the childs trust.

I'm reading the raws with english translations for this, so I might not understand the entire thing.

It has the typical trans-mitigation cliches but there's a bit of a difference. This takes place after the main story ended. The villainess got her just desserts... which resulted in her fall, getting disowned by her family and a teenage pregnancy. (Though I'm really side eyeing her family... why would they ignore their pregnant teenager)

She basically neglected her child. But against all odds, her child was brilliant, independent, handsome, athletic... etc.

The child... more>> later becomes a "Villain" to the novel's epilogue, hence the "Villain" in the title.

Anyways, I really like that the kid is a 12 year old teenager, unlike most instant kid trans mitigation stories... He's a bit rebellious, trying to be independent, yet yearns for his mother's love. he's a bit of a Tsundere.

In some cases, since he's quite smart, he helps the MC quite a bit. They only have each other to depend on...

The new Su Ran (MC) - isn't worldly smart. But she still has a "cheat". In her former life - she was a brilliant composer... but everything else, her assistant took care of. Therefore, in this life, she depends a lot on Su Han quite a bit.

I really enjoy the son/mother relationship. They're cute.

EDIT:

Now on Chapter 40.

Most of humor of this novel is based on misunderstanding and lack of communication. lol it never gets old... XD

I really liked it when the original second male lead of the novel

Spoiler

basically ranted about the FL of the original novel.

I really like the aspect of figuring out what happens after the "happily ever after ending"? Is what is presented in the novel really what happened.

Father and Son's relationship:

Spoiler

omg the meeting between the father and son, is hilarious. the total convoluted novel's plot makes the explanation so challenging. Poor Mr. Lu. Totally misunderstood. lol.
