This story is quite the ride, and I'm happy to say that I'm not disappointed with the ending.

It's a slow burn, there will be ups and downs, but I say that the ending is completely worth it.

For everything, I would rate it truthfully a 4.0/5.0 for a slice of life, but for some reason people rate this with bad scores so I put a 5.0 in to even out.

The story is not your drama, nor your action packed, neither is it anything exciting.

Simply put, a slice of life, a journey of a girl/woman in working age, to find herself through all the events life threw at her. She can remind you of yourself, of someone you know, or of your futureself.

This is me being harsh but I can only rate this short novel with 1 star because of the following reasons:

Firstly, the growth and development of the main character is going from positive to negative. As the novel mentioned, she had been someone who only devoted to work in her early 20s. She was a successful, decisive, thoughtful, and attentive director of a whole marketing department.

She coincidently reunited with her high school friends, reminisced about fun memories with them, was cheated by her fiancé, and got into... more>> a car accident. All these events leading her to realize that her life has not been fulfilling despite her successful career and she wanted to change. She had also discovered that she did not dislike being kissed by a woman and longed to meet that woman again.

Secondly, the MC’s s*xual orientation at this stage can be assumed to be ‘bis**ual’, so it would have been better if more contexts were used to develop her character. However, a single chapter spent to describe her reunion with the woman (FL) showing the great chemistry, longing, and conversations they had but the MC was indecisive to either completely reject or agree to be with the FL. Instead, she chose to expand her network by involving the supporting male lead, starting culinary school, helping with the wedding, dating the ML while visiting the FL during this time. Here is where it getting worse. She inattentively and insensitively brought her new pastry invention which she named ‘Heung Po’ by combining the names of hers and her current boyfriend to visit the woman who had feelings for her. She even added a nuclear bomb to bring more taste to her pastry by saying she cannot decide between the FL and the supporting male lead as she was attracted to both of them. I wanted to drop the novel then and there... but I read to the end anyway because I don’t like dropping any series halfway.

Lastly, I personally did not wish to see a happy ending for this novel. What she had done was not some simple mistakes but clearly s*upidity and selfishness which shouldn’t have been portrayed by a person who felt that her near-death car accident had brought her different views about life and wanted to change for the better.

Life is indeed so strange as I don’t usually being critically harsh when reviewing a novel. The portrayal of the MC’s thoughts and behaviors seemed to have trampled on my bottom line ༼ಢ_ಢ༽ <<less

The story is quite slow paced at the first 10 chapters as the author builds up Cin Hueng's character very well, she is just an ordinary office worker that has problems at work etc.

But, i dont know if its the masochist inside of me but I wish Cin Hueng didnt get that happy ending, I feel like from my perspective she didnt deserve a second chance, but like any other character I understand that they make mistakes and through that the characters will grow.
