I cried quite a remarkable amount of tears because of this story. I admire our FL so much. I also understand the struggles of the ML. Their relationship is something that happens in real life, and the conflict of the story is something some couples could relate to.

I remember crying at one scene when the FL and ML were having this conversation because I could just feel the pain of the FL oozing through my screen as I read her dialogue with the ML. I was bawling and I have... more>> never even been in a relationship but I could just feel her suffering.

I plan to watch the drama too, and I look forward to that scene. <<less

Apparently this is author's best novel. At first I thought noway I'm gonna relate vain female lead. Because I assumed that's her character settings but turns out I don't like the male lead. Idk about others but I find him unrealistic specifically his intelligence and achievements. I find him way dumber than authors explanation.

we never got a meeting the parents chapter, author seemed to forget it becausethey just skipped ahead. There were 15 extras but there was quite a bit of stuff I was expecting and looking forward to (such as describing how the internet reacts to them being official) that just never got written.

The angst with ML turning MC down twice, the second time because he didn't feel like he was good enough for her was a huge pet peeve of mine but still 5 stars overall

Absolutely stunning story! I have lost count on how many times I have read this novel. I love that this story tackled not only the emotional part of the relationship but also the practical part. There is no villain for the sake of drama, just valid concerns of both parties in a loving relationship, who are in for the long run. Don't get me wrong, I may say "practical part" but this is still a very sweet and romantic story. 5 out of 5, I'm re-reading soon for the nth... more>> time. ❤️❤️❤️ <<less

Solid story with no useless angst or drama, though for a romance novel, has a bit too much game info on characters which I normally just had to skim through.

Mature high EQ male and female leads, no dense characters.

Doesn't have as much fluff or fairy tale ending as I hoped it would.

I really loved this novel. I had previously watched the drama, and I have to say that the novel is even better!

I love Gu Man's work. She just writes such beautiful novels, and this one in particular is just so amazing! It touches on subjects that you usually dont see being brought up and it does so in an incredible way.

I highly reccommend this novel. Its a light romance with a bit of comedy in it, that just makes you crave for more! ^-^

It's because the ML owed quite a lot to our FL. He rejected her, and she didn't grieve until when he finally chased her. But the game playing and the extra chapters soothe the angst I felt~

FL is witty and bold. She strives hard to get what she wants, both in personal and professional aspects. I even felt embarassed when she schemed and then got found out >•<

ML is smart but a little bit arrogant. He was at the stage where he was facing a crisis in life when he re-met the FL. So being able to meet and get to know the FL was a shining moment for him even though he only realised it a long time after that...

I think I enjoy reading the extra chapters more than the main story (well-- except the gaming part^^). Because I like sweet and fluffy moments~

I hope I'll enjoy watching the drama too~

edited: The drama was wonderful! More than brilliant! Scenes showing about the ML's working environment gave substance to the ML's personality. The drama did really well (all the cast actually went beyond amazing) ~ I was also very happy to watch the daily life and sweet moments of the leads!! the extra chapters (my fave) are about 10+ episodes^^ 🍭🌈 <<less

I would like to recommend those who studies Chinese language at intermediate level to read the raw. The author used pretty simple, straight forward, easy to understand sentences and there weren't much poetic writing.

Ever get tired of those very sweet but predictable stories of the girl who loved with all her might a #1 genius winner boy who didnt like or respect her back. He’s usually cold about it until eventually thanks to the author god he conveniently sees who she really is and loves her back. You know she borderline stalks the dude for a decade but we think its cute cause she “really loves him.”

What if the guy very reasonably rejected her when they were young? She didnt continue to stalk him like a love blind psycho. They grow up. They have experiences. Their dreams become harder than just pure optimism can support. This time when they meet as adults, they connect. His job is cool. Her way of handling both their jobs is even cooler. Highly recommend if you want a stable and funny romance. This FL gave up. But she also tried again. She and the ML win :-p

my Heart is currently simply overflowing with sweetness!!

This novel was surprisingly very realistic compared to most.

Usually, it is the handsome top student falling for the mediocre, but truthfully what are the chances of this happening in reality?

Also, this could change but I think the way the story was laid out was very nice and could be related.

Especially the way the characters, stubbornness, determination, pride, sorrow, and happiness.

The way they strived for their dreams and also the overwhelmingly sweet love story.

It was very fulfilling to read.

I actually got interested into novels after reading A Slight Smile is very Charming a few years back so I have a high expectation for this novel from the same author. This novel also involves gaming but in form of mobile game rather than PC game in the previous one. Truthfully, the gaming parts did not appeal much to me since it got quite complicated with the multiple characters, roles and skills included and I'm not really that familiar with mobile games. Other than that, I really enjoyed this one.... more>> I say, it's a 4.5 for me. Although the FL employed few tricks at the start, there was a natural development in the relationship of the main characters which made it a slow-paced romance.

This is a good light read. The plot is quite cute even though it's predictable. Unfortunately, there's not much fluffy moments since it's just a short story. Nevertheless, I like that the FL is strong in her own rights despite playing along with the blackmailing of the actual villainess. <<less

Ah ah ah!!. So so good!! A novel that keeps you wanting for more. MC and ML are both calm and mature. MC has a cute image but is surprisingly not annoying. I live how she does not care about money or sumn, but I guess that is expected as she's plenty rich herself BUT I love how she's just so proud of ML?? (👍)

ML is financially unstable and that causes him to not want to pursue MC bec of fear of not giving her a good life. Then... more>> again, this is HE so you know the drill!

My only problem is that it's too short!!

WHAT A GEM

Everything about this story is beautiful to me. The characters, the pacing, the story, it’s absolutely beautiful. It’s realistic, sweet, lovely, funny, angsty and romantic.

Their relationship is great, it’s about how FL loved ML in the past and reunites later and has a sense of nostalgia of her past unrequited love, however, this time ML actually takes notice and develops feelings too. They communicate, struggle and have a healthy relationship overall.

I loooooooove this story so much. If you’re a gamer the gaming parts will be easy to understand... more>> but if you aren’t the translators added notes which makes reading a breeze. <<less

Likeable characters with consistent, 3d characterization. A healthy respectful relationship. Angst that comes from reasonable, normal, relatable human things like worrying about career choices and how to balance passion vs moneymaking potential and responsibility to family etc. Cute relationship development.

I found the gaming bits a bit boring because I'm not into that stuff, so I skipped some of those parts.

Epilogue 14-15 left me a little unsatisfied but it's possible epilogue 16 would resolve it maybe?

while reading the last epilogue I got so emotional, i've actually have binge reading this the whole night, when reading the final paragraph I just cried I'm so happy for them, I wish the could live long together. Storys with caracthers that hold thight to a dream are always my weakness (i remember crying wholeheartly while reading haikyuu, my babies iiii-). There's no big drama here, but it doesnt need it to make you want to treasuare this in your heart forever.

I have NOTHING to complain about the MC, I... more>> love her; please be patient with the ML he's a sweetheart (handsome, smart and handosme too)

ML is overly confident. FL is my kind of lady.

I don’t like the ML much. He is very eccentric. Anyhow, after the first time reading you still want to read it for the second time, this shows that the story is good.

Give it a 5* anyway. I will give it to a story that I don’t mind reading for the second round.. And so on..
