“….Krische-sama, are you not afraid of killing people?”

“……? No. After all, it doesn’t hurt Krische.”

Although gifted with the talent to do anything with ease, the girl lacked empathy.

In her world, there is only loss and profit. No goodwill, no love.

Inhumanly recognizing cold, mathematical logic as everything, she looks at everything in the world through calculating lens.

Return given profit with profit, loss with loss.

The girl was undoubtedly pure, yet undeniably abnormal—

Her favorite things are cooking, food, and being pampered.

Her specialty is mu*der.

—- This is the story of a slightly unhinged girl being surrounded by kind and loving people, and her journey to find happiness.

Very long but very good story. Definitely a niche story, because people may find it hard to accept Krische's psychopathic traits, the peculiar main characters, and the amount of war battles. It's not really a fun adventure story, but more like war records + slice-of-life + yuri + fantasy setting exposition + the protagonist meeting a lot of different people. The novel is ultimately about Krische's interactions and growth, but it's a very slow and subtle change.

Story may be long and verbose but really has its moments. The ending is... more>> something special too. <<less

One of the most emotional stories I've ever read.

It tells the story of Krische, a beautiful, pure, and naive young girl who is at the same time a genius and ruthless psychopath. She is self-motivated, insanely powerful in combat, makes decisions based on split second utility calculations, and learns/remembers most things that she sees for the first time. The author doesn't wimp out on any aspect of her character, which makes the dissonance between her cruel and sweet side extremely captivating.

The story depicts her interactions with others, how they affect... more>> her and the environment around her. She develops a wide variety of relationships over the course of the story, with elements of wholesomeness, indifference, reverence, fear, jealousy, camaraderie, mentorship, and obsessive love to name a few.

Besides Krische, the story fleshes out many other characters with interesting personalities and backstories. After the first few arcs, there's a "character introduction" section at the end of each arc that provides the detailed background of all the important characters. It supplements the development that they receive in the story in an interesting way, which helped reinforce my knowledge of the cast as I read.

Some of the major concepts that get explored include subjective morality, utilitarianism, war and revolution, heroism, and technological as well as societal development.

In my opinion, it's paced essentially perfectly, with detail where needed, while also not dragging on. As a result, the story covers a long period of time while still feeling dense. It has an amazing ending. I think the series would be close to 5/5 even without the last arc, yet the last arc still significantly elevates it for me. I haven't cried from consuming media in several years, and still teared up like 20 times reading the last arc alone.

It's overall quite a simple narrative, made special by its consistent quality, brilliant character writing, and exploration of themes and emotions. I consider many stories, especially ones listed on this site, enjoyable based on the premise and main character alone. This series has elements that check all of the boxes for me: geniuses, overpowered beautiful girl MC, in-depth exploration of a co-dependant relationship, etc. I may find enjoyment in other series with similar main character concept or premise, but none of them delivered on and exceeded all of my expectations from the initial premise and MC to the extent of this one. <<less

A long but good story. I'm feeling a little empty after reading everything and knowing there's no more. If a published version comes out I'll buy it to support the author.

This is one of my favourite stories. You'd think it'd be an uncomfortable read but I was constantly getting toothaches while reading about Kirche and her family. She tries so hard to do what's right and honestly, I can't fault most of her opinions. And I love the maid so much!

At first I was just searching a yuri novel just for the fun and the sugar inducing stories, but damn as a history nerd this novel is a surprise and a welcome surprise for me.

-First about the actions/war story:

This is a really great novel with a quiet a high degree of realism in the warfare and its preparation methods including recruitment and logistics which is often forgotten by many authors because it was thought as boring for most people or too much information dump, but this novel is explaining things... more>> pretty well, but for people who dont understand things can be a little bit overwhelming as the new informations are many and detailed.

Seems like the author made a well throughout research on combat, warfare and history first before implementing it into his fantasy world. He’s got all the basics right and I love it. I would even say 75% hollywood movies are not as realistic as this even though this novel is a fantasy novel lol. This novel can be said 80% realistic but not boring thanks to the fantasy element. The magics in the fantasy settings is not too overpowered (like one man army in usual fantasy trope which made war boring in those novels) but is powerful enough that it can change a little bit of medieval tactics works in this novel thanks to it. This novel has become my favorite novel.

-About the yuri:

For the yuri story this novel is quite unique as it didn't take the usual yuri MC troupes.

Spoiler

The MC here is really innocent, really really innocent, like a child level of innocence. The relationship with the partners starts from a wholesome family like ties and gradually changes into a more romantic ones, however because of the MC's deficiencies in interpersonal relationship skill (in exchange of her talents in other fields) and innocence she would not understand her way of expressing affection is already in a romantic level. However because of innocence of the MC the girls who are target of her expresion of love and care can't reject her at all. For some this kind of relationship may not be of their palate, but for me these relationships so far is really cute and is a blessing because of the sugary interaction they had.

[collapse]

i can say this novel is really good at providing a sugar dose of yuri interactions, but because of the interactions are mostly in between of conflicts (war) it can have periods of mostly just actions with few sugary interactions, for me I like it this way for this novel and it is like a great break between serious war and happy daily life, but people who wants to jsut read the diabetes inducing yuri stories you would have to be patient when the serious arc started because those kind of interaction will be rare at those arcs.

I can also see so far that the novel is focusing on the character growth of the MC as a person and so far the growth is really great. It maybe is a little slow for some people but for me its the perfect pace because it's more human when she tries her best to grow slowly step by step. For me the character growth can't be hurried as humans also learned slowly, nothing is instant and this pace is perfect so far.

PS: there are quite some characters in this novel that have a great potential of making their own side stories or side novel on their PoV because I think their PoV would be a great addition to the world building of this novel, especially on the politics sides (which this novel didn't really focus into)
Spoiler

(like krische's little sister, kreschenta's PoV)

It's a story about a person who is most likely a psychopath being surrounded by people who love her. In other words, this psychopath learns common sense between right and wrongs and tries to live her life doing what is right solely not to make the people she care for sad with her actions— of course she still feels no remorse either way.

It's a great story and most especially enjoyable for someone like me who is not typically empathetic either, as I've gotten sick of protagonists like Goku, Naruto, and... more>> whatnot, this is a very fun story.

Essentially its a war novel, the protagonist is constantly dragged into wars simply because she's talented at mu*der and planning and she has to make sure the people she cares about don't die from the after effects of the war, so she fights. It's very entertaining how the author constantly depicts her as a beautiful child in a bloody battlefield, constantly standing out with how frail and pure she looks although she's a cold blooded mu*derer.

Yuri romance-wise, it isn't explicitly said that she's dating anyone. However, there are women around her that constantly fight for her attention. The one the MC especially care for is that red girl in the cover. The Harem isn't a full blown harem but more on how she's constantly surrounded by women who like and care for her.

Anyway, I'm review is simply just the words I was looking for in the other reviewers comments but never found. I was mostly here for the romance, but found good war and characters instead. A must recommend. <<less

I love this. It's a story about a young girl possessing extraordinary talents, simultaneously extremely lacking in some areas as a human being. Through the few dozen chapters that I've read through google translate on syosetu,
Krische and the supporting characters went through quite a few developments and they all were changing accordingly. It was quite nice seeing the various emotions being displayed by various characters and their characters not being static, unchanging for months of their journeys.
Hoping this gets a light novel version and then published officialy... more>> in English so that more people can get to know this rollercoaster-like story. Even when reading the MTL the story managed to pull me in and get me to feel for the characters.

Unfortunately or fortunately I decided to stop myself and wait for the translation, so as to fully experience the story. Thanks Hecate for the TL! <<less

Great! The writing is good, I don't think Krishe is unlikable so far, I actually quite like her apathetic trait although some people may find it quite... unacceptable. The story so far is good, I totally recommend reading this.

God, this is just a phenomenal book. It invokes the emotions of the reader, and I went through several of them as I read. The relationships characters have with Kriche is just so pure and lovely. I definitely can't wait for what the plot has in store.

ch 337/337

volume : extra edition 2 (ch 6/6)

夜明けの三日月 :五 (Crescent moon at dawn :6)

... more>> Fictitious war story x Hero Musou x Yuri. How can I say... everything I wanted.

The main character is unmistakably a psychopath. However, the way she tries to learn about human emotions while interacting with people is appealing as a main character. However, her spirituality, which is different from ordinary people, gives she a convincing idea of her omnipotence, so there is no odor that is typical of omnipotent protagonists.

And she's simply super cute. Wan wan.

The deep, heavy, and great love shown to the main character throughout the story is also a highlight.

Also, as a pure reading material, the explanations are excellent. In the world of web novels, where we often see works that are selling well but over-explained, perhaps due to a lack of editing, this perfect quality is wonderful.

It seems that it has been decided to make it into a book, so I pre-ordered the Kindle version while praying for its future development. <<less

Just keeping up with the TLs. But to start off hecate is a good TLer.

For the story is good for the most part. We have a strong female MC that I like who has a messed up sense of morals.

Reason I give this a 4* is it falls into the trap many of these do where because it's a female protagonist, naturally she has to be cute and feminine and like domestic things. Which while what they're doing is somewhat understandable there's too much at odds between that and the... more>> war/battle sequences.

I'd compare this to something like Eliza Kaldia from another story. Both have messed up sense of morality. But while Eliza feels like an actual character Krische feels like a loose collection of ideas that don't mesh and weren't fully thought through. <<less

This was nice, Kirche is like a very strange girl with very strange mind. She thinks very differently, but she is also being exploited by all the adults there. Not sexually but like work wise.

She is kinda broken and her thought patterns just wrong. She has some friend who also cray but different way. I didn't read till end because it didn't have it yet, but she probably won't have worst end, because it seemed like she is too strong but also not best because she will be trapped in... more>> whatever situation she is in. <<less

like Gado in c1. Why do we even know his name, it's irrelevant to the story

. Seeing that one point being made repeatedly makes me want to immediately drop the book. The story could conceivably be rewritten with the MC and 2 other characters, because none of the other ones ever impact MC one bit. It takes too long to get to what I think is its theme with large portions could be conceivably cut off without dealing any damage to the overall structure. Overall, very unsatisfying to read. Maybe if we in the future see the protagonist's downfall or an antagonistic force to merely reality check her to break the emotional status quo Krische and the other 2 relevant characters put up, then maybe the story'd be better, in my humble opinion at the very least. <<less

This novel falls in to my list of "Why is it so highly rated" novels.
I know that there's going to be some people that prefer what this story is offering, but...
It's a mess. It can't decide what it wants to be, but it doesn't want to be anything good.

It boils down to two major issues, both of them are centered around the main character. The first is that having an MC who has clinically disconnected from reality and only views things in "good for me" or "bad for... more>> me" doesn't really make the character truly dynamic or likeable. They *cannot* evolve by definition, and as such they don't have any compelling story arcs to speak of. This means the writer is relying on the reader only enjoying violence for the sake of violence, and not to advance any real story or to develop the main character. This could be resolved with the characters around the MC, but it's not written that way here. I personally see characters written like this for one type of audience: people who think they're special and different in a world full of people just like them. The edginess, the violence without repercussions, the over-powered protagonist who gets exactly what they want not in spite of them being different, but simply because they're different. The world is handed to them because they were born different. It's poor writing.

The second problem is bigger because it represents something that's always bothered me. Our MC has developmental issues. They are NOT mentally capable of thinking like an adult, even if they look like one. And yet the people around her push her in to physical relationships with them. It is disgustingly uncomfortable the way that the MC has relationships with other characters simply because of how simple-minded they are.

Maybe these problems get better later, but... You can't just make a bad story and then ret-con it and say "See, it's good earlier because I wrote some good parts now." If it's bad most of the way through, and the good doesn't fix the bad, then the story is still bad. Who knows though, maybe the author has a really, really, really good explanation for all garbage they spewed. I doubt it though. <<less
