On the Star Network there is a gourmet food broadcast, where all you can see are a pair of hands. However each dish that this broadcast comes out with is earthshakingly delicious. What’s more, the broadcast anchor’s voice is simply perfect!

With the broadcast’s rising popularity, several food programs extended him an olive branch. When the anchor appeared on screen, as they suspected, he is handsome enough to incur the wrath of both men and gods! The fans l**ked their screens with increasing frenzy, but after licking a while, they discovered…

Fans:…Wait a minute, isn’t this our fatally-ill idol who hasn’t long to live?

Small Gong: Take these damned nutrient solutions and throw them away! And get me that broadcast anchor!

Bruh, I finally know how Shen QingQiu (Shen Yue) felt when reading that shitty novel. (Well, this novel is not that shitty tho) 👀

Sigh, first of all MC & ML kinda mainstream, like the typically kind-hearted and somewhat flawless or OP MC. ML is just that typical kuudere ML who talk less, aloof, and cold but actually simp MC so hard inside. For me these MC & ML dont really left any impression. Not to mention other characters, they are all just like condiment.
Idk what the author thinking when... more>> she wrote about MC, I think she wanted to makes MC an amiable and extremely kind person like he would always smiling (well he can get angry, but mostly he wont really show it and the feeling is not really that strong too), he is not greedy, selfless, and he'd donate all of those money he got from providing info to Academy of Sciences and Chefs' Association to who in need, etc almost like a saint but in my eyes he just looks like a hypocrite ? Or fake ? Well anyway he doesnt look natural for me. It was like the author just done his character halfassedly.

The story really lives up to its name. Its really Daily Live Cooking Broadcast. No matter what the situation or where he is he'd always broadcast, well unless he had to go or attend an important event somewhere.
Spoiler

Even when he just got slandered online and found out about his brother whereabout and knowing his brother was so sick he had to live in hospital, he still has the mood to do live broadcast. Awesome 👏

[collapse]
Sigh, author if you want to make a kind-hearted MC, then dont do it halfassedly. In this situation MC looks kinda ignorant instead.
Spoiler

(His brother is sick, his mom making a fuss on internet and then here he still has the mood to do live broadcast. I know theyre not his real relatives but can you have a little sympathy, like how the OG'd do or feel in this situation?)

[collapse]
Really tho, its really all about cooking. Dont even mention the romance bruh, sigh. Romance feels kinda slow bc all the focus of the story is about cooking, MC & ML rarely interact but when they meet theres suddenly a spark, like they just automatically attracted to each other and fall in love so Im not sure if its slow or rushed at this point. At first MC even have more interaction with ML's brother, so its actually more logical if MC fell in love with the broter instead lol. Well, love dont have logic so...
The story is too monotonous, things happen repeatedly with the same pattern. Even cooking part seems like just copy pasted from here and there.

The villain is kinda... well really those typical villains whose sole purpose of existence is to further highlight the MC.
Spoiler

Not to mention the minor villains, like the chef who was hostile to MC, he just disappeared into thin air after face slapped by MC once. The paparazzi & MC's mom just dealt easily. Even the one I tought was the boss villain (Ye Shao) was caught easily and only got 10 years prison sentences, considering they have a long life span 10 years is a shor time.

[collapse]

Tbh, lots of things are kinda exaggerated and nonsensical here but well this is Cnovel and I guess this kind of novels was really popular amongst readers ? There are even more commenter there than any other novels, but all they care is about food and almost all the comment are such "Im hungry".
Also, wonder if the author is someone who is not adult yet ? Idk but I feels her writing is kinda childish ?? 🤣
The author could wrote hundreds of word just to describe cooking process, but when MC take entry of chef's assesment all the judges could say was "Delicious" or "So Delicious", like really bruh ? Y'all are supposed to be a professional chef but you can only say this thing ??

Last but not least, bruh I really curious about these thing :
• MC has alot of viewers, and Im sure these viewer are not only the people from the same city as him right ? When theres a viewer who won the lottery from another region how'd he send the food there ? 👁👄👁
• In this era all kind of work can be done by robot, so what these future human do for living ?
• Is the entire galaxy only filled with Chinese ? Im aware there are Rute people that said to be looked like avatar, but has almost transparent white skin, beast-like eyes, pointy ears, fangs, has European facial features and even has European/westerner names, but they cant be considered as human right ?
• Weibo still exist in this era, so why dont try to recollect the data about ancient earth from there ? Well it could be that they recreate this weibo based on ancient earth's one tho 🤷🏼‍♂️
Well, theres still alot of question bugging me, but whatever.
I only read up to 60 chapters and then after I just skimmed through some chapters bc I really lost interest, I want to forced myself to read till the end but its really boring 😭 So this review only based on those chapter I read.

Okay, thats all. Sorry if my review came out as harsh and offending, but everyone have different taste right ? And maybe this just not my cup of tea. Anything else I really agree with what others said esp those who give around the same rating as me lmao.
Also pardon my english <<less

The plot is great, it's not full of ups and downs and it is easygoing.

Contrary to the reviews that express their dissatisfaction with the story line and pacing of the plot, I personally think that it's fantastic. And for a slice of life kind of story (which I don't usually enjoy) I quite liked it.

And for those who complain about its food this and food that.... Like what did you expect when the story is about fr@#$* cooking. Although I respect others opinions about not liking... more>> Chinese cuisine, there was no need to criticize this harshly.

Those who complain about the slow progression of the story... B@#$* what do ya expect from slice of life plot. I mean they're supposed to be slow paced and show day to day life of the character with many conflicts or surprising plot twists.

It's not like QT or some other dog-blood romances or action thriller suspense.. etc.

So if you're looking for something chill and relaxing with cuteness, this book is you <<less

*1.5 rating

I apologize for the low rating even though I haven’t reached even halfway through. I actually gave this a chance, I really did. I didn’t even read the reviews about this novel prior to starting this. But now I’ve read some reviews I think I should’ve done that in the first place to save myself the time. The translator did an amazing job providing all the links and stuff, but man it just couldn’t make me keep on reading. Thank you anyway for your hard work!

I liked it, for a story that the text was majorly about cooking it kept me reading so it’s not as bad as others may find.

If you’re looking for an interstellar heavy plot story, then this isn’t for you.

This is a wholesome kinda slice of life kind of fluff piece, it’s pretty chill to read with little lol moments and mostly food descriptions to make you hungry.

i enjoy reading this story that's why I'm giving it 5 stars. But objectively speaking, people might be disappointed by the lack of villains in here. Also, about the cooking and the ingredients, the story pretty much explained it logically so I don't get why people are saying that there's a huge plothole in that part. If you're looking for a light-hearted and little to no obstacles story, then this is for u ;)

Foodie Novel LOLOL! MC transmigrates into an interstellar world. And, with his background as a professional chef and food blogger, he proceeds to wow all the interstellar folks who lived solely on nutrient solutions with his traditional, home-cooked meals. The main focus of the story is his life as an anchor/chef. The story would go into great detail about all the meals that he cooks (which he shares through live streaming) and intersperses some plot and romance in the background. As for our ML, he takes a background role for... more>> the most part -- showing up only when the plot kicks in as a fan of the MC and the impressive Marshall that becomes one of the MC's strongest backers. (Note: I didn't finish the novel! But, I did like it. Just wasn't all that invested cause the plot was pretty minimal and the food aspect not as enticing as a non-foodie).

CHARACTERS: 6/10

Although I did find the characters charming, they're not actually the focus of the story, so you can't expect much in terms of character development -- hence the low rating.

Ruan Tang (MC)

The MC is very reserved. He does what he likes and steadfastly refuses to against his morals. In terms of cooking, his background makes him super OP! Outside of that? The author doesn't really give us much.

Marshal He (ML)

The ML is the cold and apathetic type with soft and squishy insides LOLOL. We know that he likes the MC and the MC's cooking very much, and that he has a pretty chill family~!

ROMANCE:

Since I really didn't get to the culmination of the romance, I'm leaving this portion unrated. BUT, like the characters, it doesn't seem to me that romance is the focus of the story. The progress is slowburn. With the ML being the pursuer and the MC the oblivious (?) pursue. If I were to rate it as is, I'd give it 3/5 for the cuteness of the Marshall LOL.

SETTING: 8/10

The setting is futuristic. The people of Earth had long since moved onto other planets. And, as a result of long years of war, they abandoned things like food long ago in favor of more efficient nutrient solutions. These days though, with things settling down, they're finally starting to discover the value of food and natural ingredients again, which makes the MC's transmigration particularly seredipitous!

It's an interesting setting, I found the futuristic parts charming! And, while some things are a bit lacking in detail, the parts that focus on the main premise (the food) are well explored!

PLOT: 5/10

This is a no plot novel in my eyes. There IS some stuff going on, but it's mostly surface-level stuff to do with the original owner of the MC's body.

RATING: 3.2/5

I've rated this based on the content, not the enjoyment level! So, don't take the number to heart. If you're interested in reading a futuristic novel with lots of food content, then you shouldn't hate to read it! It ended up not being for me, but I certainly won't forget about it!

RANDOM THOUGHTS:

  • Personal Enjoyment: I found the novel really fun at first! But, the food content was just a bit too much. 3/5!
  • Literary Level: For a foodie novel? Top-marks! As a regular novel? Can't say because I didn't finish (sneezingface). Translation at CG is really good though! And the TL-er has convenient links and images of the foods being described, which is nice~!

It's 1:13am and I just finished reading it. I enjoyed the novel so much and I didn't even notice I'm at the end haha.

BL, no smut, lots of cooking (every chapter), sweet but not too much, both are dense but they soon ended up confessing without unnecessary drama.

No plotholes, nice settings, nice characters. The interaction with viewers are really funny and amusing.

ADVICED TO READ THIS NOVEL WHILE EATING !!! I also suggest to not read this while you're on diet or fasting. I'm not joking, this novel make you want to eat so badly !!! (And also cooking. But that maybe just me.)

Anyway this novel is Wonderful! Though for Information, the Plot of the novel is:

  • 80% that related or the Cooking Scene
  • 10% Faceslapping
  • 10% scene that is not about Cooking or Faceslapping; ex. Daily Life, Interaction with other characters, Food discovery, Adventure, etc.
Yes, the Cooking plot and scene combined with eating... more>> scene is THAT MUCH!!! First time I read this type of Novel. It was still Enjoyable though. The author really like writing the Cooking scene sooo much. Without that detailed cooking scene, the novel probably less than 100 chapters? Who knows.

Anyway, the story is still great. I didn't expect much anyway because so many times I put this novel away to read 'maybe later'. Until someone mentioned Faceslapping and I was like "it's Completed and there's Faceslapping, why not?". And I'm pleased it gives me more than I expected.

Great MC and ML. Great Supporting Characters. Nice Story Flows. Many good scenes. And Beautiful Ending! This novel may not be Perfect, but it's Wonderful, I Enjoyed it, and I'm Loving it! <<less

It's nice. Cooking and all. Not much romance but tonsh*t of cooking. I underestimated the amount of cooking. 70% cooking, 30% romance.

The main CP is cute and nice. Their romance was both abrupt and slow??? Like ML's attraction to MC was without basis but they only got together on the second half. No third party though. So all is good. I kinda skimmed some of the cooking part though.

I enjoyed 95% of the stuff I read in this novel, I'd say. Though, for those who are hesitating because of the rating, which is lower than what it deserves imo, you should give it a try if you love food, love live streaming genre, and love instellar. I checked out on all those boxes. Tldr though, the shortcomings of this novel is that the world building and some part of the plots just don't make sense and is s*upid, but then again, it's a light read, so it doesn't... more>> matter. Secondly, the ending was quite rushed, but nonetheless, it got a sweet ending, and that's all that matters. Therefore, this would be a 4.5/5 for me. <<less

75% cooking, 25% plot and romance. I like it though, very fluffy and doesn’t require much brain power. The plot is not focused on much (if at all), and there’s some plot hole and inconsistencies. The drama gets sorted out pretty easily and swiftly. I’d rate the story 4/5 for fulfilling what it wanted to deliver, and the additional star is for the translation. Great translation, paired with pictures as well :^)

Overall, if you want to read a stress-free slow romance that focuses on cooking, this is it. But... more>> if you want a BL that involves not too much cooking and builds its world well, this is not for you. <<less

One of those books you'd read when you can't find anything new that attracts you and want something that won't require too much engagement or brain power.

The story itself isn't really bad. It's just the inaccuracies and rushed job at the end that make this novel less than what it could be.

The author has very bad sense of time. I was left completely clueless whether there was a lot of time between two different happenings, or just a day, or if it even happened on the same day. It was... more>> all a messy porridge.

The measurements (as in how big a room was, or how tall a cliff was etc) were something that could not be computed by my tired brain. A banquet room could be as big as about 10 football courts. A human could jump off a 300m cliff and be caught by another human and they'd both be fine (and that same cliff would end up being five metres tall in the next chapter). Basically you'd end up disappointed if you expected any accurate measurements.

Please keep in mind at all times that what you read is fiction. If you like the name of a certain recipe, either use the links provided by the translator (who went out of their way to give this info) or just Google the name of the dish and you'll definitely find plenty recipes. Don't forget the humans in this novel are boron based, ok?

One last problem I have with the novel is how the author brought little Yu into the picture but then ended up neglecting him so bad he would have been completely hopeless if he were a real human and he was treated this way. It ended up making RT seem irresponsible and an awful big brother for not taking proper care of his little sick sibling. <<less

Depends on what you want out of your read - the proportion of time spent on cooking/food vs plot & relationship development was way too high for me and I love food! I spend a lot of time watching cooking shows!... I spent many chapters scrolling past all the food prep. The webnovel/serial nature of it also becomes apparent as the author starts throwing in random arcs at the end to stretch it out.

The translation is readable, but made some odd choices.

This Novel Was a Good Read In my opinion but I noticed a few problems. The time they get together was around more of the end of the story and the marriage came to abruptly. Another problem was the ending was unsatisfactory. I was not satisfied and I felt like the author was like: 'the story is suppose to end now so I'm going to slap a traditional fairytale ending in there :) ' It was to abrupt for my liking but overall it was a good ending so I... more>> did like it. I really wanted babies but not all the story has to add my preference. When I was reading I noticed this story was a bit like 'I'm using the interstellar live broadcast to raise cubs' mostly because of the live food broadcast but this novel just has revolved around the food part a little less. Overall this was a good read, not my top absolute favorite but of you asked my if I would read it again I would probably so 'yeah, sure why not maybe when I have the time.' <<less

this novel is just describing the making of chinese food, with a bit of slice of life in the interstellar setting.

This story is truly a slice of life where from the first chapter we see the MC streaming cooking for half the novel while online gaining supporters and haters, the ML is of course powerful, talented, handsome and help the ML solve all problems.

There is a bit of deviation in the later chapters where the author tries to add some action but it's still tame. So if you want a... more>> novel that is about purely cooking this one is for you. <<less

When I saw it was a slow romance, I thought there'd still be romance in it. I can't recall exactly what chapter it was for ML but MC didn't realize he liked ML till like 99th chapter of 125 chapter book. honestly they just felt like good friends rather than romantic partners. Not a bad thing but even slow romances build up slowly, this didn't feel like it, the romance felt like an after thought. ... more>>
Spoiler

after ch. 99 they did get romantic... so romantic that they banged in the woods... while on a survival show. My God 🙈 but the survival show chapters weren't y favorite.

[collapse]

ML really isn't much different than other MLs especially those from interstellar novels. He was the first to realize he has feelings for MC, he could be a little silly (concerning the food but also MC's undies.) MC was very nice, humble most of the time (he didn't want to take money for the recipes he created, instead he donated it). I loved the chat with his fans their reactions were funny, but it runs into the problem that the author will use the same comments or similar phrasing.

Not much drama, this is a food centric novel! There will be walls of text devoted to ingredients & cooking. It could get a little dull if I'm honest and I'd start skimming or taking breaks because it could get repetitive. Most times the drama/suspense was just to give MC new ingredients or show off his skills. I'll believe ancient animals evolving into bigger or stronger varieties, I'll take MC knowing a very large variety of cuisine but I'm finding it hard to believe that he just happens to knowing so many methods for processing foods (like making soda and other types of goods that require special processes or ingredients, etc.)

I loved the little bun, he was pitiful but adorable. I wish there was more moments with him, like MC and him cooking together as brother bonding time. Also I feel a bit bad for their alien allies, their king in particular. There's a cultural & physiological difference but the way they (humans) treat them (aliens) sometimes rubbed me wrong
Spoiler

like the rutes have their hearts in the stomachs but when gilbert (the alien king) makes a love confession referencing his stomach, they sorta make fun of it. Sure he's fallen for MC because of the food but that doesn't mean he wasn't being sincere about his heart flutter. Also Gilbert tries hard to use great words of wisdom of humanity when speaking with the humans but he can mispeak & everyone's like "LOL look he got it wrong, too funny." Only the He brothers are kind enough to correct him but ML still has a misunderstanding with Gilbert (that Gilbert is attracted to him when really Gilbert just wants to be bros)

Wasn’t anything special. From the beginning I could tell everything was put together willy nilly. There wasn’t any scene in here that got me interested in the story at all. It was hard to keep reading because my mind would wander while reading it because it couldn’t keep my attention. Very repetitive, not realistic at all in aspects where it should be which makes things seem ridiculous in a not funny way, the romance was kind of there which was cute but the novel barely went into it.

The part I... more>> like most was about MC’s brother, I loved the devotion and all but then it goes from ‘big brother don’t leave me’ to ‘brother is going on a one month vacation with his lover! Bye!’ like okay nothing really matters in this novel at all, huh.

I wouldn’t say I regret reading it but this is definitely not something I would ever bother reading again. <<less

Ahhh what cute little story!!

It's very food focused novel so there's not a lot of romance in the beginning of the story.

I liked reading it because the translation was very good! As expected from Chrysanthemum Garden's translators!

... more>> The actual romance was quite nice? It was pretty slowburn, but the love was quite mutual! The confession scene was very cute!!

There was no heavy conflict in the novel, so if you're not into angst that's great! I'm not really into a lot of angst unless I'm in the mood for it :').

So if you like cooking and fluff, this is a story for you!!
