Within almost every melodramatic novel, there’s an affectionate male supporting role who is infatuated with the shou protagonist. To be there when the shou is being attacked by the gong, to offer love when the gong abandons the shou protagonist, fighting for justice when the gong betrays the shou.

As a catalyst between the romantic love of the shou and gong, he dedicates his light and heat to his identity as a spare tire without any complaint or regret.

Lin Ziran’s task is to play the part of the affectionate male partner in different worlds. However, after he went there, he discovered that the way that each world’s plot opens doesn’t seem to be right at all.

Hmm...

The first arc is average at most. There are a few exciting moments when the drama is at its peak but most of the time, I'm really disappointed on how dumb the MC is.

Spoiler

He was supposed to be a president of a company, you would think he would be smarter in handling things, especially if he could man and run a "well-known" company before the age of 30.

The plot has deviated many times throughout the story and the system had told him that the plot can change according to the player's performance but he still insisted on relying on his "oh-so-mighty" script (which has been proven to be useless since the plot deviated).

And he's so dumbstruck every single time by the plot deviation as if it hadn't happened before. Wouldn't you be used to it now? Where's your sense of adaptability as a company president?

It would have been better if the author had made the MC into a dumb character, so it fits the way he's acting, plus it'll make it funnier to try and see how a dumb guy try to weasel his way out of the plot deviation.

It was an enjoyable read for me at the early chapters but I keep stopping reading because I'm getting bored of the characters especially the MC. I never knew there will comes a day where an MC will make me frustrated.

As I keep reading on I'm getting frustrated of the MCs behavior towards the ML who treated him with respect instead he goes to the villain who took an advantage of him. The MC is a scum. I wasted my time reading the tr*sh MC which for me makes the... more>> stories unbearable to read. This kind of MC really irks me and the whole experience leaves a bad taste to my mouth. I have to lookout to never read again this types of MC. Its really just not to my taste I guess.

Gotta drop this. <<less

Just a little bit update of this novel. Actually, this is good and not totally a boring one, every world has different scenes of courseand in every world you can’t figure out first which one the MC will be bed with, it’s either the Protagonist Shou, Protagonist Seme, or the Villain itself. Well, based on my observation about the MC he really don’t take the tasks seriously and I understand that because who will take the tasks seriously when your life is really not in danger like in the other... more>> transmigration stories, yes, he is only playing on the VR so he can leave whenever he want it. I’m currently in the 5th Arc but there’s an Arc that I feel attached on the Original protagonist shou, well, I know he didn’t easily accept the confession of the MC but who can blame him?! He was traumatized that has something to do with the word ‘love’ by his own parents and he also know whenever the MC told him that he loves him, he notice the MC’s eyes didn’t say it all. But when he was making up his mistakes, you all will notice that he is a very patient person to the point that you want to have a boyfriend like him. <<less

Damn the bad end of each arc tickles my heart

The MC work as 2nd male lead but he keep attracting both the gong and shou to chase him.

But he still work hard to act out the plot properly which ends up w him dying in every arc {so satisfying to see those scum gong or shou suffer w his death but really sad for those that loves him too late}

... more>> Love this cause the novel doesn't take itself seriously and the dog blood drama makes it funny and relaxing read

+MTL super easy to read

Spoiler

MC had amnesia and ML was too much of a coward to just tell him directly so indirectly chase his in the vr game that he sponsored. MC was obsess w getting a good grade in game so he can skip study whole ML obsess w chasing MC But for once this MC doesn't take the game as reality and always die to end the game.

To be honest its a very well-written QT except in VR. The plots are melodramatic and end in tragedy because of the nature of having to "leave" the game as a player. The stories are basically all themed abuse-the-ML, which to be fair, the ML are honestly all abusive and bipolar, at times sickingly sweet and at others abusing the shou in an SM fashion. ... more>>
Spoiler

He is also the one who came up with the plan of disrupting the plot and and all the MCs hard work, yet still blames the MC for being a slag with all the npc which forced him? The ML is shameless, trying to guilt-trip the MC into forgiving himself after being willful and plugging himself in as the love target npcs. The MC is not guiltless either as he tends to replace the protagonist in the SM novel-like worlds with his halo and is insensitive to the "npcs" and alienated, as if everything were truly a game and is quite... self-centered.

The ML and MC are hardly likeable as well which made it hard for me to continue reading... This is surprising to me since I'm actually a big fan of this author's works capture scum gong and scum shot survival guide 😍.

The MC is a bit dense but he gets there. Eventually. He's hard working for his game "credits". He is the kind of person that flows with the script even though we know it will collapse sooner or later. If anything what I enjoyed in this novel were the "hidden plots" which are like plot twists, excluding the characters themselves this is actually a fun novel with plenty of dogblooded romance and self-sacrificing/ suicidial MC. If the MC and ML we're better I'd give this a 4.5 but their romance is too forced and hardly have the motives for such decisions. I really enjoyed this book although at times it was a bit painful to read. <<less

Reading this novel is like eating dry bread without water.

The MC and the story is so frustrating. So so frustrating. The MC is kinda s*upid and he was made to ignore everything that was happening and if he did notice it, he’ll reason it out with himself and completely convince himself. This part was actually a bit acceptable as MC read the script and should not be expecting any deviation in the ‘game’. Another thing, he swings between treating the characters as NPC and treating them as people. You could... more>> say that this is actually a good portrayal of dissonance with what MC know and what he’s experiencing as a player inside a very realistic game. BUT. Omygosh no. His attitude about the charas doesn’t only switch, it also coincides like he’ll say that ‘this is an NPC but they also has feelings and I don’t want them to get hurt’. And this happens A LOT. And I notice that it was oftentimes used to explain why MC is suddenly doing something drastic like sabotaging the ‘script’.

It’s very plot-driven. Everything else takes a back seat as long as the story goes how the author wants it to go. This sacrifices the characters and the emotion for me.

I’m not sure if this gets better later but for now, I’m dropping this. Maybe I’ll pick it up again later and change my mind but right now, I’ll go and huff and puff and read something else. <<less

As I said, I rarely get interested, but this time the storyline kept me wanting more. This story fits my cup of tea! I don't regret reading this one bit. I may be overpraising but I really enjoyed reading this. Many parts made me cry (and I really don't like angst and stuff that hurts me) but this is an exception. The arc started good and it ended amazing. Well I still haven't finished the other arcs, but I hope I continue feeling the thrill. And btw I really... more>> like how this story made the protag think that "they're just npc's, no need to care (not literally sorry, I meant he doesn't get easily swayed by trivial stuff and clearly has a boundary for this and that, like this is a story, this is the mission, what he has to do) " and something like that but still acted like a person who seeks interesting things " this brother has really nice bods" ahahahahah. Anyways, I'm not forcing people to read this, but it's been a while since I saw something that really fits my taste. CIAO~ <<less

I don't leave reviews often. I might do something wrong but here we go.

This novel is just like another dog blood tr*shy novel. (Maybe it's just not to my taste...)

I read the MTL until c62. This is what I think:

Spoiler
    • MC really just cares about his credits, although I don't get why he keeps jumping from one world to the next without really improving his "acting".
    • And yes he's always just acting. He doesn't really care much about the MLs. To him they're just NPCs. His thinking is not wrong, but it feels scummy to me. Maybe because there is so much backstory and emotion to these "strings of data". But the MLs can be scummy too lol so idk
    • MC is just a magnet for lust and romance. At this point, I forget why I even started reading this.
    • MLs are always pushing down the MC. They just love love love love him. And this simply annoys MC.
    • Ironically enough, this novel has its own set of "Affectionate Male Supporters" who end in tragedy. Maybe another person can transmigrate into this story and fix the emotional mess lmao
    • At the end of each arc the MLs are miserable and MC scurries along to the next episode of this drama lol. If only the main bodies of each arc were granted a second life instead. At least then they would care more about other characters..

Aaaaaaa I really don't want to keep reading this...

I should've realized that this is the author that wrote Scum Gong and Scum Shou novels

All 6 of the arcs made me cry, especially the 3rd arc. The MC is kind of scummy because of his treatment towards the real ML (which he has act that way in order to follow the plot and get a passing grade. Although he messed around halfway through in the 3rd arc and didn't care anymore lmao).

Spoiler

What didn't make sense is how the game world supposed to help MC regain his memories of ML? Literally, there's no correlation? Because MC just does his job in the game world and doesn't remember ML. And he only remembers ML once they interact with each other in the real world. Everything would have been solved faster, if the ML just tried to help MC regain his memories in the real world normally.......

Also, I don't understand why the MC was mad at ML, and broke up with him, when he found out that ML was in the game world with him. Like I know MC didn't get good grades cuz ML kept messing up the plot, but ML didn't want to see amnesiac MC sleeping with other men. MC shouldn't have avoided ML and should have talked it out with ML. ¯\_ (ツ) _/¯

I really loved this novel!

It's the perfect blend of angst (I cried a lot), funny moments (especially the inner thoughts of the MC) and entertaining plot.

Spoiler

Despite the tragedy in each world, in reality it ends with an HE! And there's also only 1 ML (but you can enjoy a harem feel in the different worlds)

I totally recommend it!

Oh my god!! The mc's amnesia is hilarious 🤣😂🤣...

I love the plots of the 6 arcs, and I like how the MC isn't really emotionally tangled with the characters and just acting, although it was revealed in the real world arc that the people he slept with were actually his boyfriend, but still, he is not glued to the characters he played with and just peacefully died.

Ps. : I just read it through mtl and it is mostly easy to read and understand.

I only read the 6 arcs about the virtual game plots and haven't read the final arc about the MC's real life, but I don't think the MC's real life is gonna be as entertaining and heart wrenching as the other arcs. The arcs in the game are really good enough stories with some twists that took me by surprise and that inspire some real feels, especially near the end of each arc as each one of them is a tragedy. But not all arcs are perfect, some are better... more>> than others, some protagonists in the plots of the game you end up attached to, and some others you don't sympathize with. But overall I really enjoyed this story.

PS : the mtl is really easy to understand, try it. <<less

I enjoyed it for the tragedies and the feeling that it brings.

Thinking about the plot makes me want to just roll my eyes.

But the story telling was enjoyable enough, it hits, and MC's detachment from the virtual worlds is a point of entertainment on its own.

I absolutely ADORE this story! It makes me laugh and cry. The MC is funny and often oblivious and I’m still not sure who the ML is.

Also, the translation is done very well. Minor typos sometimes, but who doesn’t have those? Thank you to the translator! You deserve all my respect!

Okay I usually don't leave reviews 🙄

But this won my heart. I teared up, suffered from second hand embarrassment and wasn't in the least bored. This... is plain amazing. The style, the way it all unfolds is so... good.

The summary just said about how everyone falls for MC but it's so much more. The plot may seem simple but it would still touch your heart. It's not a mindless novel where MC transmigrates and ML falls in first sight. It's really so much more...

I know there are already a lot... more>> spoilers but here it goes. I'll only spoil the arcs since the over arching plot to me wasn't as good as the arcs. <<less

The novel is a wonderful read, the MTL is very easy to understand. However, the MC was too oblivious for my taste. After the third arc, it felt somewhat repetitive.

I would recommend reading this in your free time.
