fast paced action packed fun movie in book format.

Queerbait, 100%. Smart MC. Very fun story.

Negatives: Too fast paced. They had a lot of tropes and hooks but a lot of things were underused or simply skipped over because of fast pacing.

I loved it!

was it shallow? Yes. Was there several much- used elements? Yes. Was there anything particularly unique? No. Is there a strong BL vibe? Yes (I for one really enjoyed the bromance 😏)

But WAS IT FUN? OH MY, YES!!!

In short, reading this was like watching a summer action flick. Action, bromance, cool/ likeable heros, suitably Evil villains and plenty of explosions. Switch off your brain, get a tub of popcorn or your comfort food of choice and prepare to enjoy

It's enjoyable and I recommend It to people who like Isekai, Game System and strong protagonist.

It's very cliché but there Is nothing wrong with that. In fact, some of the cliché are some of the reason why I enjoy the genre.

My main problem is that it felt VERY rushed. I feel like It could be a solid story, if not particularly original. But I think It progressed too quickly and as such the majority of the secondary characters felt underutilized, especially those that had potential, I feel like the... more>> interpersonal relationships between the characters weren't really well explored and sometimes nignored (tough I think this Is a dorect consequences of the loss of focus on the secondary characters), the world and lore wasn't as well explored as it could have (the towers for example were basically ignored? And I feel like they could have been much more interesting)... and of course the plot progressed way too quickly.

This is mainly noticeable in the second half of the story.

It's still an enjoyable story and I still binge read it. I also think those that enjoy the genre should give it a try... but overall, It could have been so much better. <<less

I give this one 3.5 stars, because it's interesting until you realized this story is just a bunch of hot air and the challenges everyone faces is the standard 'go big and beat the threat'. It is still an okay choice to read, it isn't overall bad but the story starts to stagnant when the character picks his constellations.

There are a lot of empty plot devices, springing up when needed and left alone for the rest of the story. This happens pretty frequently and it is not something I enjoy... more>> seeing. If you shoot with the gun once, and I still see the gun, I kind of expect it being used again. Not to mention the amount of irrelevant information sprouting around. There are also unresolved subplots, which themselves are pretty empty as well.

It gets worse as the story continues. The returner (the original male lead) in the story ends up in some weird bizarre situation where he is fused (?) with a demon for years and turn back to normal after the protagonist helps him. That experience is suppose to be terrible and mentally deteriorating, yet it is just a slap on the wrist.

The original male lead is pretty much the problem here. The protagonist is wary of this guy, yet tries to accommodate the character to ensure the final fight will go smoothly. Since the character is overpowered no matter what, Yu-seong has to struggle (something I like to see) to deal with this and develop this strange rivalry/friendship vibe.

After being sealed with a demon king, the story kind of dropped any tension and it is just mopping up the remaining story to finish it. It is disappointing and lackluster ending.

I can see the writer is taking popular tropes and spinning their own tale but did nothing new or interesting beyond what has been already done. It is bad enough that I don't really like to recommend this, but decent read if you are looking for stories with similar tropes like this. <<less

Love this novel! Love the character development, from week nobody/villain, to OP hero. Seeing the original hero, grow and develop alongside our main character was great.
