For all the negative things I'm about to write, I want to preface this with the fact that I actually (for reasons I'm not quite sure myself) enjoyed reading this and will most likely keep reading it.

This webnovel takes you to a world similar to our own, but at the same time frighteningly different. It's a world were humans have lost the ability to restrain themselves, fall prone to fits of incredible rage at the slightest provocation and are almost entirely driven by greed. The concept of money has become... more>> fluid and hard to grasp, with families getting by on less than 500$ per month on one side, and, on the other side, people willing to
Spoiler

pay 10'000$ for (virtual) starter equipment you'd replace after a few days

[collapse]
.

On a more serious note, this story is a mix of the "Utterly unbalanced VRMMO that allows the MC to become insanely OP" (e.g. "Bofuri" and "Free Life Fantasy Online") and the "Game world is actually a real otherworld" genres, with the added twist that there's a future interaction between the real- and game-world. I honestly like this idea and think it has tremendous potential, if done right.

To compare Yeager, the protagonist of this novel, with the other examples listed above; While Maple from Bofuri might be chaotic-neutral and Anastacia from Free Life Fantasy Online neutral-good, Yaeger is chaotic-evil, which brings us to, in my opinion, the biggest issue: The protagonist is a giant, narcissist a**hole! It would be one thing if he was at least entertaining, witty, or snarky, but he never is.

The big cast of antagonists could give the protagonist ample opportunity to endear himself to the audience, sadly he never does. He's just as petty, greedy and short tempered as they are and will gleefully scam anyone he can, unless they are part of the small circle of people he considers friends/useful. Other people either swear undying hatred or adore him, there seems to be no in-between.

Apart from issues with the main character, the author seems to have a very... creative imagination of the world outside China. There's also the occasional racism/xenophobia to break immersion, but ironically this can be entertaining, simply because of how absurd it often is. <<less

I don’t think this novel is that BAD as other people think. Overall it’s just the perspective of whether u like the protagonist personality and the type of story. Some people might not like the protag‘s personality or that the story is Very slow, but u can’t judge that much, I think this story is good if u like long stories and find enjoyment in an op protag who is smart and clever.

35 chapters and the story has not even started yet. It just feels like I am reading the same thing over and over again with no advancement in anything. Here is what the MC has done in 35 chapters. Created a character and fought off wolfs. The rest of the info dumps can literally be skipped over. Why because its just the start of the novel and author spent 35 chapters giving MC 500 different powers, gear and skills. And everyone knows the beginner skills are replaced as soon as... more>> the characters leave the beginner village. So If I have to bear with 35 chapters of info dump when MC only spent first few hours in the game it just does not give me any hope that the story will move in the coming chapters. Anyway this Novel is not even good enough to leave a review. The only reason I wrote so many words so far is so other could avoid wasting their time. I am out of here. Chao. <<less

Really wish fulfillment comedy. Kinda stuck on the wish fulfillment at the moment (last 60 chapters), and not a lot of MC schadenfreude comedy.

The MC humbled by previous experience manager's to keep their cool regardless of the good or bad luck. An interesting combination of the under dog and OP' ness ? Have now read up to chapter 530 and still enjoying this story.

I'm sorry, but I have to tell you this,

There are a lot of unimportant parts in this story, but I will take the ones that I think are easy for you to remember.

starting from 2 useless characters S and T, whether these 2 characters are there or not, it still won't change the storyline.
it's better to just remove these 2 characters.

... more>> Actually, there are a lot of characters in this story that could have been developed, but unfortunately, they were left like that.

There are too many meaningless concepts of revenge in this story or you could say they are completely useless.

this story is too shallow.

I'm still reading it, but it won't change anything for me. <<less

Very cool novel, main downsides:
- s*upid nationalism. Author really hates USA for some reason
- MC really hates being a girl for some reason. I know this is the point of novel, but it feels very artificial
- Society is overly hypocrite, vile and s*upid in this novel. It goes very well with the plot but still feels strange and unnatural
Outside of this I kinda liked all:
Characters, their development, dialogs, plot, all is pretty good.

This story is hard to recommend for others to read unless you're specifically here to read about the genderbending MC or yuri and can shut off your brain on any logic in this story. This story is so terribly slow-paced with less then 7 days having passed across nearly 400 chapters (even though the story gives you a time limit of 3 years at the start) and everybody but the main character and her harem members has less than 10 brain cells in order to justify them going against the... more>> very obviously OP MC. Story progress has become nearly non-existent as most of the chapters just drivel on about nonsense such as how the observing 3rd party players/npcs react to whatever the MC does or describing the one-dimensional, in-creative thought process of the antagonists. There's also a fair bit of racism and nationalism from the author in this story, especially against all things related to America.

"You hurt/killed my brother/disciple/subordinate! I'll return this shame and humiliation a hundredfold if it's the last thing I'll do!"

*Proceeds to die*

"You hurt/killed my..."

This sort of thing ends up being repeatedly recycled and then mouthfed to you as the reason for nearly every single conflict in this story, whether it's in the virtual game or the real world, 70% of the time. The other 30% is just literally because of pure greed or lust of anything related to the MC even though just half a second of thinking would tell you the risks far outweigh the benefits. For example, every single player in the virtual world act like drooling hyenas that try to attack the MC given the first opportunity in order to only get a slight chance of her OP items being dropped (even though it'll basically never happen given her extremely high luck) despite the fact upon death you'd lose levels, that become exponentially more difficult to raise every 5 levels.

Any logic in the virtual world seems to also exist for the sole purpose of going against the MC, whether it's the fact that it's systematically engineered to be pay-to-win on more than a hundred different levels, in order to justify how other players can go against how OP the MC is or how the terribly balanced the punishment for PVP or NPC-killing is that it doesn't even allow you to act in self-defense or touch a single hair on npcs even if they've been bribed to try to kill you.

People in this story always have near-instant and completely accurate information given to them about the MC as though everyone has nothing better to do other than squat in the forums or spread rumours to justify the slow pace of the story. Antagonists end up being strangely competent in the speed of their bad decision making, willing to use their entire life savings and their entire organization just to go against her after the slightest humiliation. Every npc in the game can face-recognize the MC at a glance and know about her infamy hours after the deed.

Among the worst part of this story is how the author very openly brings up his nationalism for the great Cathay (aka China) and how terrible America is to a immersive-breaking degree. His shallow understanding of anything overseas is that Korea and Japan are America's lapdogs, who are willing to bend over backwards just to please them while America is a strong-arming nation who pays no respect to any foreigners and is racist against anyone who isn't white. <<less

It was a great idea, but horribly executed... Like there was so many way's the author could've wrote this story but the author made this... I give it a four because some people will like it, and the fact that some parts are good, however ultimately it's better to read something else.

key points:

To much game and not enough emotional IRL stuff.
