Yaoying transmigrated into a novel.

I don't know how to describe my feeling.... This is a Chinese novel, one of the most beautiful I've read...

I love this novel a lot..I feel like I learned a lot from it.. the development of events is interesting, the story is not cliched

The love and romance between the main characters is great.. I really like the monk (ML) His personality is unique and beautiful, I feel like I fell in love, also I like FL is personality

I feel like I had to channel all of my inner calm to read the early chapters of this novel. Both the supposed male and female lead were infuriating.

I have no patience to read about them. I guess it's necessary as a background story for the main story to kick off. But I'd rather not. I can only say, the boorish Li family and Zhu family blood really flows in their vein. They are more or less dancing clown. Really isn't worth reading. I skipped them directly.

There's actually so many... more>> ifs that I feel would have made the story flow the same without the annoying addition of both the supposed ML and FL story but this is someone's creation and their idea, so...

And I'm still reading anyway so that does say something. My point is the chapters with the fake ML and FL sucks. The world is better off without them. <<less

This is my first review before completing the novel. Anyone reading.y comment. Don't be deceived by summary. The novel is much more than that summary. I had dept and female lead/MC is really someone to look upon. I m a person who really dislike politics and Power struggle. She is really worthy to be read and spend out time upon. I really recommend you all to read this till 78 and plus more will definitely follow just like, I m going to read.

This is one of the best chinese stories I have ever read 😍

Thank you so much for the translator!

The two main protagonists are splendidly written, but they are not alone. It is rare to find a story that doesn't revolve around the protagonists, however here every character is incredible. Ah (Xie) Quing and the crown princess are two of my favourite characters for drastically different reasons.

I 100% would recommend reading this novel!

the crown prince is not in*estuous bc she isn't in any way related to him, so the fact that person still wrote that to the point when the original male lead and her eldest brother were trying to find her and calling him in*estuous is wrong bc first of all lol he never said he wanted to bang her, second he knew she wasn't related to him at that point, and third just because he figured out he probably loves her I am pretty sure it's platonic lmao unless I'm wrong bc platonic love for a sibling can exist even if you are not blood related to them. Ahem. Even if he does end up "in love" it is a point of misinformation to say he became in*estuous. Purely by the definition even so...

I mean just take a grain of salt. Read it for yourself because some people may not be reading closely (??) I only say this in case you (a reader) may avoid this because of massive misinformations imo.

Here's the deal: if you liked reading medieval old adventure/high fantasy books with an op female lead: you will like this. In fact if you like tamera pierce, I will say you will like this. Yes she is "mary sue", but so what. She's beautifully written. Ok if you want to read about a heroine who doesn't win in ancient history, just open up at history book *smiles* women just died and got r*ped.

all the female characters are 3d except for maybe 3. If readers can't see that, I don't understand ? I mean the first time I cried was when the crown princess said that line man.

Have you never read a high fantasy / medieval adventure novel with a female lead? This is like perfect but set in ancient china! People who like that will like this (I know I'm repeating) I think if you don't like this, it's a genre thing. Honestly.

The actual male lead too is a contradiction because of the circumstances. The writing supports this. Plus it's in the description, he's a monk in a romance novel; you should avoid this if you think that's illogical.

A lot of these characters, even the crown prince, I will say are what is largely known as grey characters. they have reasons why they act as they do, they have feelings so they can regret and have guilt and have motivation, and the complex dynamic of what is good for the kingdom versus good for you, and they change maybe.

The themes are the cost of revenge, yes having a beautiful inside and out female lead because that's fun, the price of power, survival of nations, what it takes to lead a country, and is it idealistic to give a sh*t about everyone vs people just care about their own asses and power - time period. Also yes bad dads.

dude like seriously read it bc the Buddhist king didn't fall for her on first sight. This was the theme I was talking about: she and the ML are similar bc for them they have empathy and it only takes "a lift of a hand to save someone so why shouldn't them". Even if it's a stranger. Even if it's a commoner. Even if they never will help you back. wtf, the author explicitly writes that. I would say he doesn't get moved until months later when she had a fever.

Also the chapters in the trans are being split fyi. I highly recommend you to just follow the trans. It might take forever but it's honestly probably worth it. <<less

I registered here just to say how good this novel is. The author is an excellent writer as well as being a good storyteller. The protagonist has no fragile ego, she really do everything to protect her family and you can see that the author don't protect the FL just because she is the protagonist; bad things happen to her and she need to think quickly to save her own life. The Love Interest ML takes a while to be introduced (it's officially introduced in chapter 84), and the romance... more>> hasn't even happened yet (I'm in chapter 85), but IT'S WORTH IT.
The FL really acts like a diplomatic women, knowing how worth she is for being a woman and how she will be treated because of it, she isn't childish.
She really knows how to bargain for the protection of those she loves, and even her own freedom.
I think she's an amazing protagonist, I just hope that one day she can vent all the pain she feels, and act crazy for a moment, that way she would be more like a real person who feels weak sometimes.
I can't wait to see the romance between her and ML, and how he will take care of her, because she needs a lot of care and affection. <<less

I love the FL and her brother but honestly, this plot is too cruel and real.

I hate the emperor so much lol he only loved the male lead and the FL and her brother grew up on their own and pretty much were left to die.
Also I understand that the male lead's mom killed herself in front of him and thats why he hates the Xie family kids but honestly... some critical thinking and objectiveness is heavily needed!!!!

Ignore that 7starkiller who put 1 star on this. I write just to tell others not to believe what that killer wrote in the review, just look at the username and you can see why the 1 star. There is always that someone who put 1 star feeling entitled and look for every mistake. Don’t read novels if your expectations are so realistic, read autobio or history since you impose your ideas too much you think everything is... more>> wrong. I hope you transmigrate on a novel without cheat and marysue and let see you handle it.

This novel is highup on ratings for a reason. Read first before you judge. Ive read ALOT and this is so good. <<less

whoever said the fMC was a Mary Sue I usually would have some apprehensions but this novel was written quite well and translated even better that I don’t care if the fMC is Mary Sue. Maybe she does have amazing luck, I don’t care! I was fully brought into the emotions of the book, I felt pity, admiration, sadness and more through the cast of characters. I understood their reasonings and it wasn’t told to me, it was revealed and that made it very satisfying to read.

I had to drop this novel. I admired what the translator was trying to do - they made it very readable - but every character is such a caricature that it just made it tiresome to read. The emperor father was so much of an emperor that he cared for no individual person. The mother is so crazy! The good brother is like a Chippendales dancer (big, strong and buff) who graduated from Oxford (such a scholar!) but needs the love of a good woman (and we all know it’s... more>> his “sister”) and even the bad brother is so good looking that no one thinks he can be evil despite the fact he manhandles his sister (same as the other bro) , abused his wife, kills randomly and generally appears insane. Our Heroine is so kind, so lovely and so frail - ugh. Even the monk sucks as a character. I could go on but - I’ve got better things to do. <<less

I have to say, the story is quite dry in the beginning. But if you stick to it until the ML shows up maybe 1/3rd the way in, the story is quite captivating.

The FL has transmigrated as a baby into Cannon Fodder character of a Novel. Other than her prior knowledge of the Novel's plot and characters, she's just a sickly suppressed princess trying to survive the persecution of the original Novel's ML (Crown Prince, eldest brother) & the Emperor (father).

The FL's backstory is quite heartbreaking. At 5 year's old,... more>> during wartime, the Emperor even tossed the FL aside, stole her private soldier's horses, and ran away with 2 boys from another clan. While abandoning his supposed daughter as her guards tried to protect her and died one by one, only until she hid amidst the dead corpses waiting for her 11 year old brother to go AWOL to look for her.

As for her eldest brother, who has mixed feelings about her, tortures her politically and mentally behind the scenes. Even going so far to kill her only pet dog in front her. The worst part of his character is that he's not portrayed as a bad person, but just hates the brother-sister pair from a different mother.

Most of the beginning of the novel sets up her backstory of being set up and manipulated into a marriage with a nomadic clan leader that's in his 60's. And how she ends up as a tortured prisoner who later meets this novel's ML (monk) when she's on the run.

After she meets the ML, things start turning around for the FL. Although, there is violence and implied r*pe of other characters. The FL never looses her hope, ingenuity, and stratagems in dealing with all sorts of situations in the present and future issues. She's extremely smart, and even though she's replete with a sick body, she's always so many steps ahead of all the villains.

As for the ML, he's quite endearing, with his own heartbreaking sob story. His struggle with his growing emotion for the FL is quite expressive. It's amusing that he tried to get the FL to be a female monk so that she can be near him. It's also quite romantic that the FL loves him no matter his secular life, his scarred face, or violent behavior. She loves him for who is and doesn't want him to change anything for her sake.

Although there are some plot points that feel forced, and some parts are quite dry. The slow brewing romance of the leading couple was written quite well.

It was amusing that a shiny golden Buddha statue with some hidden features kept reoccurring in the story. After the ML rejects the gift offering, she resells it. For it only to keep returning to her multiple times after others re-buy it for her constantly. It's amusing that she never knew the hidden meanings of it until her last possession of it. <<less

It’s a great novel more focused on politics and military tactics rather than on romance. Sure some twists plots are a bit clichés but overall it was well written. I will definitely reread this novel over and over. I really liked the brother-sister relationship.

The novel is so great that I recommend everyone to read it. The plot wont grip you or make you hooked from the very start but it will grow on you and then you wont want it to end..i have read many chinese palace novels but usually the politics is bland so I just skim through it to get myself acquainted but I have read each and every chapter of this novel...

The most beautiful part of this novel is the relation of the FL and her brother.

Read and caught up to the latest translation in 3 days. This is around Ch54 (Ch123 of the translation) of the novel. I'll try to continue with MTL but may likely reread once enough new chapters are translated.

I don't read much of the other feedback, I just scan how many stars they usually rate and check on the critical/lower rated reviews on what is deem as possible issues in proceeding.

THIS IS NOT FOR THOSE LOOKING FOR A LIGHT HEARTED NOVEL, the drama is heavy on this one. This is also... more>> action packed and very political. Caution to readers because there is are instances of animal cruelty and animal deaths (I actually don't like animal deaths). 15 chapters in and I was like, OMG I don't know if my heart can take this much suffering, pain and annoyance. Hang in there, it gets a bit better, then worse, then a bit better again, lol. I can honestly say it has been quite an emotional rollercoaster for me, to the detriment of my eyes and nose. And yes, I think the translation is very good and emotionally evoking.

The world building is consistent till the latest chapters, I kinda wished there was a map of things because I'm more visual and it helps my imagination. There are a lot of throwbacks, which help readers understand how things are the way they are. I appreciate the characters, how gray they are that I loathe quite a number of them. MC is very good, coupled with the transmigration aspect (basically knowing how the story goes), she uses her wit and circumstances to arrive at the most desirable outcome possible. I don't have enough grasp of ML at this point so I may likely go back once and update this once I've finished the entire thing.

At this point, this seems to be a hidden gem that I've fortunately discovered.

Edit: Finished the remainder through MTL after a week. There is a complex story involving ML, it's like layers upon layers being peeled back in the story. The romance is a slow burn, but they eventually make it despite the messy situation they're in.

This novel is great for action/adventure and drama seekers, it will keep you on your toes till the last few chapters. It also does a good job of resolving other mini-plots, it's likely your favorite main character got their deserved ending. The extra chapters are devoted to her closest, dearest people, immediately jumping off after the ending. <<less

I LOVE THEM BOTH OH MY GOD!!!!!!! I actually can't put my thoughts into words but yes I love them and I shed tears for them, yes, definitely an amazing read. If not for its too many chapters and I feel too overwhelmed, I would surely reread this!

It is great novel. Heavy plot with many tears and heart breaking but it’s just like a story about powerless young lady, how she crawled step by step to be inspirational woman.

It is worth all the tears, emotions and time because this story is really great.

although the romance is slow, the author wrote it so we also though it was supposed to be like that to make this story beautiful.

I haven't even reached the part where MC met ML and I'm awestruck! Seriously, I cried buckets. MC past with his brother (Li Zhongqian), MC kindness, what the emperor did to MC, her sacrifice, all of it is gonna make you dry your eye ducts.

This novel has no urgent need of ML. I still rated this as 5 even tho I have't met ML yet, because it's just that good.
