ML jumped with her again the second time, to prove how deep his love is for MC. To me that would have been the best ending for star-crossed lovers who are full of remorse. And it would be even better if one of the side stories gave the hint of a reincarnation where maybe they meet again, like a lot of other CN novels. Idk that would at least end the tragedy on a more upbeat note.
