Before the disfigurement, everyone loved Ling Chunan. After the disfigurement, Ling Chunan became a plague that everyone avoided. He was held on captive by his own agent afterwards because he was so ugly now, desecrating his love. Finally, Ling Chunan chewed himself to death because he was starving. After his death, a thing that claimed to be the counterattack system 098 found him.

A long time after, a certain counterattack system of a host with a 100% success rate posted a message in the System Forums.

《Emergency Help Request, my host is a masochist! He won’t be happy if every meal doesn’t have meat, and if he doesn’t have meat to eat, he will start to gnaw himself! How to treat this illness?!》

Great God : No need. I have a fast recovering ability. I will let him bite me.

This novel is my favorite quick transmigration novel!

The main character is really smart, being on top of everything and giving no f*cks. It kinda squicked me when I found out the extent of his cannibalism. However, since the story was so good, I overlooked it in the beginning and later, it didn't bother me any more. There is also a really good reason why he does this which is explained in the end.
Spoiler

MC has half of the old God's powers while the ML has the rest. That's why he could only eat himself or the ML as a way to replenish energy.

[collapse]
I also really love ML. He would always spoil the MC a lot which is a trait I really like in novels. ML is also really obsessed with the MC calling him by different titles like older brother, uncle, father, etc. Which I find really funny. The system is also really cute and not mean or really robotic, working together with the MC to get through the missions. He slowly changes from being the worker of God to being the MC's lackey.

The stories and worlds are also really well thought out with plot twists that you aren't really expecting. This could be seen in the first world.
Spoiler

A school yard love story suddenly becoming a zombie apocalypse.

[collapse]
There is also a main story line which is hinted at as the story progresses instead of being thrown in near the end. The story also has a lot of face slapping which I love and find really satisfying. It was done really well in this novel since there was enough build up. Someone might think this story might be a little too Gary Sue and I do see that since MC is maybe too smart? But I like stories like that cause it's relaxing without me having to worry about the MC.

Bottom line, GIVE THIS STORY A TRY, especially if you like quick transmigration, face slapping, ML spoiling MC, or characters being a little OP.

This is actually a very boring and lacking novel. No one asked, but I'll share.
This novel and the 'story' that happens in arcs can be described in three parts: lots of sleep, massage that sour back after too much f*cking and something happens in bg that is called 'a plot'.
It's a shame to call it a plot, because it's just a backbone that is falling apart, these are notes, tiny bits of something that don't have a solid joint connection. And you want to tell me that this... more>> novel is good? There are so many way more interesting works than this one, to which in comparison this one is a boring pile of crap.
First thing I hated was enabling. Let's look at the MC's condition, which was portrayed. He obviously was traumatized and developed a craving for his own flesh and flesh of other people (very coincidental that ML he can bite regenerates pretty fast). Kinda reminded me of that movie 'Raw'. It's nothing erot*c as author describes it, that's cannibalism. It's no vampire sh*t drama, that's one human being chewing down on other human being, does it sound erot*c to you? Not to me. When I say enabling I mean that no one in first worlds actually cared to help him, but enabled his craving. To me that's same as giving drugs to an addict. And it's obviously making things worse. I don't really care if he's cured later, because author finally realized something must be done, because I'm dropping this after I'm done with the review.
Second thing that I hated is the ML. And basically their non-sensical relationship. Once again in one of the arcs we have the plot I hate the most, adopted child and adoptive father (not blood related). If you decide to adopt a child for f*cking him later.. There must be something wrong with you, dude. And if you get hard for him calling you dad, that's even more messed up. I'm sick and tired of these edgy plots that authors used not once, forgetting how immoral that actually sounds. Not to mention ML is your overage overbearing, powerful figure, who overprotects MC and gets jealous and punishes MC with s*x. It makes me cringe and want to slap the author.
And last thing I hated - the plots. The plots are boring, easily solved etc. Plus they don't have basic substance that would be good. All events happen abruptly, no one goes a little bit deeper to make it more pleasing to the eyes and for you to care about things, it's just chopped and thrown at you as raw as it is.
That's it, I'm out of here. <<less

The cannibalism is a little off putting at first but I am amazed at how fine I was with it by the time the 5th chapter rolled around. XD Adaptation at its best. Lol. Anyways, pretty good for the first five chapters. WARNING! This won't be for everyone! Please do consider the tags before continuing. It would be a real shame if someone put negative comments regarding the gore and stuff and when you've been forewarned. For the adventurous, give it a try. The only regret you're going to have... more>> is not stockpiling the chapters and now you're doomed to wait for more. I'm pitching a tent if anyone wants to join. ;D <<less

This is a surprisingly good quick wear novel, especially since the beginning made me queasy. I can handle gore and blood but the descriptions of him eating himself and the ML were very colorful at first, however, by the third or fourth world it's no longer graphic. It's not so much that you get used to the cannibalism as it is that the author stops describing it in loving detail. The ML asks "baby are you hungry?" and rolls up his sleeve most of the time and that's it. The... more>> description is on the same level as the s*x, as in, you know it happened but its barely there. the worlds were well done and he goes through quite a few. It was interesting enough that I even finished some worlds that I normally don't like (like ABO). Each arc was fairly long and fleshed out enough that the reader becomes engaged. I like that some of the worlds had odd twists and surprises to them as well. Some are better than others though.

my biggest complaint is that the ML was a total BUG and whatever the MC wanted or needed he could provide without the MC needing to work for it. He's the ultimate big golden thigh, can provide the MC with anything and he always shows up at the beginning, so the MC rarely struggles on his own for long. He's more OP than most of the very OP ML's in other quick wear novels, and like many of the others he's gentle only to the MC, doting, and extremely possessive but he never crosses the line into full blown yandere mode. The MC was clever and a little arrogant, but I prefer his personality to the 'dumb as a box of rocks' pure type.

over all this is much better than the first couple of worlds lead me to believe (my initial score was a 3 at the end of the chapter 6). For those who want to try pressing through, it gets better and the story will suck you in. <<less

I can't seen to get use to the fact that the MC is a cannibal at first, in fact I still am right now but that's not the point, the point is that YES this is a good a** novel. I'm getting on board and you should too. MC is a little bit of everything, get that flavor yes, a little bit of cute, a lil sexy, a lil smart, a lil calculative and I guess we cant forget he's also a lil cannibalistic--BUT ITS OK.

Male lead is also a... more>> hubby.

You need patience with this one. It's a tad boring in the beginning. However, it is great if you ignore the cannibalism part and stick with it till the end. For those complaining about how the MC is lazy, is not proactive and depends on ML too much, try putting yourself in the shoes of someone who literally ate himself in despair. This is a man with profound intellect who completely broke down after being betrayed. He is depressed and trying to find a balance to remain sane. The author... more>> does a great job showing how he rehabilitates himself while not going deep into his psyche and his trauma. One of the scenes, his system makes an offhand observation about how retentive the MC's memory is and then shudders when it realizes that this poor man cannot even forget dying in despair in such a gruesome manner. A lot of things about the MC's trauma are subtle and you really need to pay attention to discern his quirks. The last few chapters are when he comes to terms with his identity. So until then, be prepared to be in a fog. Also, using ML's strength is a shortcut. Why do more if you can do less?

Anyway, the ML is such a sweetie. I love him. I like the MC too for his sheer strength of character. He sustained himself for 2 whole months in a dark cell with nothing there. It's insane. For a strong person like him to die so unwillingly... It really is a shame and he really deserves to be cherished and he needed the support from the ML to put himself back together. Although as the readers will get to know later... it may not always be a good thing to have the devotion of the ML. wink

Also, the review about enabling is fundamentally inaccurate. Why the ML doesn't stop MC from eating his flesh is explained towards the end. There's a reason why he finds his own flesh and the ML's flesh delicious. It is not at all the same as giving drugs to an addict. Even during rehabilitation, drug addicts never go off drugs abruptly as they have severe withdrawal symptoms and may even die. In MC's case, although ML's behavior wasn't exactly a rehabilitation plan for cannibalism per se but it was directed more towards letting MC not go completely insane and have a nervous breakdown. He needed time and support to slowly get back to a normal person standard and even at the end, he barely comes to terms with his condition.

Spoiler

And he wasn't technically a cannibal tbh. He misdiagnosed himself. He thought he had a mental illness and that he was craving 'flesh' but he didn't find anything except his and the ML's flesh delicious. What he was craving was actually pure original source energy that is only present in ML and MC (ML shares his with MC in past life) So when he was starved at the beginning of the story, his base instincts kicked and he could only feed off of the only source of energy present in the black room: his own flesh. So he mistook himself for a cannibal as he was still craving that 'flesh' and found it delicious and didn't want to stop eating it. In truth, he only needs similar energy sources. But he didn't know and the ML lost his memories too so he couldn't guide him properly either except for allowing him to nibble on him whenever & wherever.

[collapse]

Actually, there's not much difference between drinking blood and chomping on someone. It's equally as disgusting to me. It's not described as erot*c here. The ML finds it cute but the author described it more like gore and the erot*c part doesn't exist in the story. It wasn't meant to be erotic. It just shows ML's tolerance. <<less

Well, let's just say that if you liked Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil, you'll probably like this novel too, because this is the shounen ai version with more arcs. Ignore the cannibalism thing, because it basically disappears after a while and the author stops describing it in gruesome ways.

There are so many arcs, it's like the author was trying to hit every single trope.

Spoiler

There's father x son, master x servant, master x disciple, mage prince x dragon, mermaid x dragon, vampire x vampire, prince x prince, artist x president, cultivator x zombie vampire demon fox, school days turned zombie apocalypse, alpha x alpha in ABO, among others.

[collapse]

However, there's basically no struggle as MC and ML are a pair of Gary Stus. Especially MC, who appears to be omnipotent. I'm not exactly what his system is there for other than to give him freebies from the shop and to make wrong conjectures.

As for the romance, it's basically MC waving his hand and voila, ML does everything for him. Then he gets stuck in bed for days, weeks, months, what have you. I'm not sure that this couple actually talks to each other, they're too preoccupied shagging any time they happen to have free time. <<less

To those who barely rated this one

True the MC sleeps a lot

True he is lazy

... more>> True the ML helps him a lot

True they f*ck a lot though not described

But hey each of it has it's own charm to the novel

The MC is really intelligent he would totally get through the task even without the ML help... because he has the iq....

He's not like the MCs who rely on the system

Most of the time what the system won't even notice but he knows...

His iq is beyond the system... he is witty, charming, well lovingly NARCISSIST... but that's fine

The arc are different from any other QT

You won't regret reading it... <<less

This may sound weird, but the cannibalism was quite a refreshing feature. I have read quite a number of quick wear/world hopping stories so having such an unusually gory action added and made into an intimate bonding experience between the MC and ML was a nice change of pace.

I do admit that I am okay with blood and gore in my novels, though. Other people might feel otherwise. So be warned. This novel might not be for you. However, I would recommend those of you who are not easily triggered... more>> and like an easy read to try reading this novel and see whether it fits your taste. <<less

So apparently homeboy MC gets into the habit of eating himself... and other people!! I mean-

No coz, I'll just never get into the book where I'm supposed to be fine with cannibalism. How are people even finding this "adorable"? It's like those novels where the ML is turned on by an Animal. "But after some time it'll be able to shift into a person 🥺" it's still an F'in animal!!!!!!!!!!

Where do y'all get the ideas to write these?! Like-

I'll rate it higher than it deserves since I kinda liked it lol.

Is it nonsensical? Yes.

Are MC and ML well developed? Well, I'd argue that 1D has more angles.

... more>> Other characters? Calling them "." is an overstatement.

The plot? The base structure is barely given and the author fills the details in passing.

So, logically speaking, this novel is a waste of time and natural resources. But since I have so much time I dunno what to do with it and I've been into pampering MLs lately, I'll just read few arcs to satiate my curiosity lmao.

Btw, are those people who read 300+ chaps real? Even if it was a piece of art, which is not, reading the same authors' counties works would bore me to death ngl. <<less

This is a nice read for just passing time but if you're looking for a well-driven plot and characters, this isn't what you'd want.

The main character is really passive and the ML is one dimensional. On the first arc, cannibalism was a really new plot point and in the succeeding arcs, the MC is working to fixing himself with the aid of the ML but the interaction between the MC and the ML from first arc, it's the same. Nothing changes. The ML falls in love, finds the MC the... more>> moment the MC comes (sequence isn't wrong), then takes MC to his house, and then spoils him til he's near cripple.

And that's where the MC will continue to counterattack, at home, with system's all-around skills (hacking, scanning a person's body, copying fingerprints and irises, etc). He goes out to do the tasks when it's really needed but most of the circumstances aren't his manipulation. The situation was bound to happen and he's just there to mess things up or record evidences to defame the targets. Or maybe he really was active but it wasn't written or well-written by the author.

In any case, most of the works are done by both the system and ML and MC is just responsible for dealing the decisive shot.

Add to that, the MC's character, I honestly do not know. There isn't much growth to his character except for curbing his appetite but that's it. In the first place, his character wasn't well established to see in which areas he was developing. All that I can see about him is he's lazy (and that is due to ML's spoiling). Even the system is indulgent of his spending.

There's also the writer's habit of making the MC be a "I've figured out every twist and turn from the start so whatever happens, I've already anticipated it" which wouldn't have been bad had the MC shared his thought process to the readers.

Pros:

The story isnt THAT bad rather it's quite fine. As I said before, it is good for a light read. The scenarios are interesting enough to keep you reading the story. The plot twists and how the missions are accomplished is quite refreshing and it improves especially when its reached around half of the story. (The lack of improvement in the characters and the passiveness of the MC may make you bored though so be forewarned.)

It all comes down to how details are brushed off that the text looks really passive but it's still worth reading so do give it a try. <<less

novel cw: gore, cannibalism (self and of love interest), trauma

I actually quite like this story, I think the way the MC goes through the arcs are nice and along how he completes the mission. I also like the plot of most of the arcs. I'm not really bothered with the whole cannibalism thing but I'm glad that ... more>>
Spoiler

over time he slowly recovers from his trauma and is able eat normal food instead of his/his partner's flesh. I also love the fact the ML is unknowingly (yknow the whole, "he's the same guy" thing? The ML is probably that but his soul remembers so I mean the character he plays) helps him recover.

I do think the ML is mediocre but he's nice. I personally just really like this story for the MC and how the author writes the arcs. I find it really enjoyable, can't remember sh*t rn but it was good. Recommended, stopped reading cause the mtl is sh*t but would continue if it was translated.

-1 star for the constant weird age gaps (ex. The MC was 22, the ML was 36 but looked 26. Made no sense tbh, just make the f*cker 26), adoptive father romance, weird in*estuous bs (ex. ML is his uncle, etc), which all happen frequently. <<less

Many people talks about MC cannibalism and all, but well that's partly true (halt there! there's story for it!) as he was being starving to death and could only self-sustain by devouring himself right until he met the system.

Normal people shan't be able to do it so that was the 1st hint.

The description at the beginning was made so anguishly distinct to show how much it affects MC both mentally and physically. Plus the betrayal of long yrs trust, he lost trust in human relationship and love.

... more>> Trying to be borderline sane, MC suppressed many things deep inside, and his high IQ and retentive memory ain't much help.

Some may say there's no character development especially for MC. But if you notices, he very much closed himself off right from the beginning. No one knows what he's thinking if he doesn't want to show it.

So ML's unconditional care really is what supports him going through all this like PTSD, im not gonna talk about missions, those are more like pastimes to distract him, and he doesn't have any reasons to spend more effort on it if ML gonna indulge him.

And you may not think so, but MC has never truly open up nor trust ML for a long, long time. So what ML could do was only to accompany him, indulge, care, and spoil him however he can to let him relax and feels some warmth. Waiting for him to recover, heal slowly over time, and finally open up to him.

Well, it also set off MC's special quirk so that ML could serve himself on the platter and gets MC's attention as his provincial ration lol--- joking,
Spoiler

he gains power, ne? He was close to dispersing afteral--

After that there isn't much gore, only eating and sleeping (୨୧ ❛ᴗ❛) ✧

The MC is a lunatic and I like how the author can make him not looks obnoxious. The ML, well, he did a splendid job being a role model for every doting ML and surprisingly I didn't cringe at all cuz hes smooth mann, real smooth.

I'd say it'd be 3.5/5 or 4/5. Not the worse I've read but could've been better.

Good points:

Spoiler

+There are good characters and bad characters. Not all of his enemies die or are evil, for example the female lead of world two (I think it's the one of his own world) is really nice.

+The plots of each world is really interesting.

+The MC has emotional baggage and I think that's great because it gives extra depth to the character. It's revealed in little, subtle ways. But... (see in bad points)

+It's pretty relaxing. The love between MC and ML is really healing to each other. Didn't have chemistry unfortunately, but they were low-key healing each other.

+The plot twist with the cannibalism got spoiled but it was really interesting.

+The ML is the same throughout all of the worlds.

[collapse]

Bad points:

Spoiler

+All of the characters are kind of... lacking in the personality department.

+The plots of each world, while interesting, are glossed over or never really put into depth. The MC moves on so quick, it's kind of hard to miss or even remember each world.

+ But... (see in good points continued) the translator's work quality went down so it was harder to appreciate it.

+Thank you for the translator's hard work (if you go on Raven's Blue Day's website, they translate past chapter 23) but the quality goes downhill. It's really similar to MTL at this point. Thank you anyways!

+The system is really s*upid. Like really s*upid. I question why it's there half of the time other than to become a foil for the MC's IQ.

+There's no balance to the MC and ML's relationship. It's basically OP super duper doting ML who has the libido of a dog in heat and the possessiveness of one x less-OP-but-still-more-powerful-than-everyone-else MC who gets pampered while doing nothing. Like, it's cute, but the fans think the MC's just being lazy and it kind of backfires when you want MC's trauma to be healed.

+I didn't smile or laugh once when I was reading this. I laughed only at the translator's notes at the beginning of the story. How sad is that? The translator was funnier than the own author omg

[collapse]

And about the cannibalism thing... Just don't think about it. I imagine it as him drinking blood and it's all good to me.

So basically, it's good if you want to waste time. Otherwise, just leave. Don't turn back. Trust me, just go if you don't have time to spare to read this. <<less

This is an interesting idea. Many QT novels all have the same plot but this one is different. The MC has a psychological illness from his original world where he was shut up in a room for two months. Instead of starving to death he ate himself. And the second arc is actually his original world! He gets revenge for himself! That almost never happens and it was so sweet!
