One of the most underrated novels on WuxiaWorld. This novel is amazing! A lot of people avoid it believing it's a SCI-FI focused novel but it's in fact a cultivation novel with some SCI-FI elements. The first 50 chapters are interesting the 50 afterwards are kinda boring you just want it over with. The novel starts to get really good once he joins the academy around like maybe chapter 300 or so it's been a while so I don't remember. The main character develops a lot over the course of... more>> the novel, initially he was dead inside and his moral values were simply "as long as it doesn't affect me or my friends I don't care" but he does develop a moral compass eventually when he realizes that with great power also comes great responsibility. This novel takes a different approach and this was the first novel I read that developed this way. What's special about this novel is that the MC is not advancing in the world with his cultivation but rather politics; with politics and schemes he is able to eventually get hold of a lot of power and influence. His cultivation does lag behind a lot and it's not because he is not focused on cultivating but simply because he requires an absurd amount of cultivation resources due to his innate gift. Eventually his cultivation does progress and his strength eventually reaches a point where politics and schemes are useless; his worldview changes every time his cultivation realm increases. This novel doesn't have any filler so it's strictly about development, whether that's story, world, strength wise or politics wise, it does also have long chapters so while the novel is nearing 5000 chapters the actual length is significantly longer. <<less

Fantastic novel, highly recommend

brief summary, this novel is a 110% standard xianxia, only difference is that it is set in space.

the fusion of standard xianxia tropes alongside spaceships and modern weapons is interesting, the novel leans more heavily on the xianxia elements vs the sci-fi elements, but I think the balance is appropriate.

Despite the standard setting, there are many unique things about this novel. Most particularly is the the occupation of ‘lock breaking’. I found it to be a really creative addition to the xianxia formula. It’s inclusion feels natural... more>> and it adds an entirely new flavour to the storytelling.

The single criticism I have, which prevented me from giving this a 5/5 was the currency inflation and the overuse of the ‘MC is perpetually broke’ trope. It’s incredibly frustrating, and honesty I recommend you just gloss over it and not focus too much, otherwise you will ruin your reading experience <<less

A lot of the reviews here are really unfair.

The cultivation is extremely unique here, all the youths basically have the same cultivation speed (some maybe higher, but it's usually by one realm at Max and by geniuses that won't suddenly stop being geniuses when MC goes to next place.

But within a realm there are great differences in strenght among geniuses. MC's cultivation is faster and on the level of those geniuses (who remain so).

Here increase in strength is not just about breaking to the next realm and going to facelslap... more>> some randos. Within those hundreds of chapters (actually about 200-300) chapters the MC can increase in strength drastically at different points in between.

And being a genius here actually matters, some s*upid elder with a high cultivation won't come and be speaking arrogantly to the MC, he may still try to kill him but at least he and everyone else knows that if thw MC had a few more years or was the same age he'd probably kill him with a glance (you don't see that in other novels).

The ways of fighting are super unique too, unique characters with various unique combat methods.

I had to create an account just to write this. Trust me this is one of the best of all.

To be honest though the start was a bit slow, the story became as amazing as I described at around ch300, from there it gets better and better.

I've read, the first order, warlock of the magus world, Lord of mysteries and the other great novel by same author and a bunch of novels by other intelligent authors. You can trust me <<less

Is was ok is the beginning with interesting word building and MC but then it kinda become more disappointing like any other average novels. Unlike in the earlier chapters where MC was mysterious, he became more bland and predictable like any other mc's when it comes to story mode.

MC isn't as smart as the author try to make him out to be and is kinda disappointing to read these chapter with him in it. Replace him with any character and you wouldn't even notice considering how bland his personality is.... more>> There is nothing that would draw you in which makes him interesting enough.

There is a lot of plot holes and kinda feel like lazy writing to me the more the story progress. The author try to bite off more than he can chew in my opinion. Especially the MC itself who in my opinion is protected by plot armor just as any other novel considering how bad he is when it comes to schemes and tactics. If you have read the really good ones out there when it come to plot and characters build-up then this one is seriously lacking. There is really a lot of plotholes that makes no sense once you think it through.

Truth is the story is just terribly boring. Not bad writing like some tr*sh novels out there but just very boring.

And please do not compare this to Reverend Insanity. Because that is a insult to RI itself. This novel might be qualify enough to read to pass time but not even remotely close to RI when it comes to schemes, world building and characters development. <<less

Without qualifying too much, if you can suspend your disbelief towards a lot of the plot holes in the story, sudden disappearances or “thrown into irrelevancy” of some characters, and overall utilizing other story telling tropes/mechanisms that are unique to xianxia when convenient... It’s actually not that bad of a novel.

Now, this may be due to the Sunk-cost fallacy with the amount of time/money I've invested to the novel this far (So this review is incredibly biased because it’s probably more tr*sh than what i’m making it out to be,... more>> but whatever) However, now approaching damn near 3000 chapters with almost 5000 total and it is STILL ongoing (i’m hearing from mtl readers that there is yet to be an end in sight) this novel has obvious issues.

The two main things are the (1) redundancy- The authors constant need to remind the readers of qualities that characters exhibit as though we didn’t read them a few paragraphs earlier is really infuriating. It highlights really lazy and amateurish writing. Moreover, when you evoke and constantly remind your audience of said quality, it really takes away from the allure of the traits the characters have and makes these traits appear meaningless. For instance, “ Omg Lu Yin is so intelligent... Look how intelligent he is... remember this was only possible because Lu Yin had the intelligence and foresight...” - Lazy AF. In addition (2) I’m beginning to get the idea that the author is creating the plot to this novel as he goes. They more so had general themes/ideas they wanted to incorporate into the story but no really execution or concrete plan on how to do so. While this gives the author creative liberties to introduce these plot points in its own “unique” way, it really lacks execution and refinance which takes away from the story imo. Overall, if you’re on the fence about whether you should pick this up, i’d say wait until it finishes and read it then. <<less

1 of the best xanxia out there.

Arrogant idiots r reduced to the least number. (They even exist tbh?)

... more>> Lmao, when MC cleaned all youths stronger than him. I was like "uh oh, whats next? Is it gonna some bs coming next?". Lel, the author just brought someone directly from a higher realm to fight with him lmao. The point here is its much better than buffing random enemy to fight with MC. U get it? Like a real xanxia.

This isnt some other novels. Its xanxia my friend.

All the best xanxia I have read. MC aint someone who had been pushed around, bleh bleh, he had to get stronger to fight his enemy, bleh bleh. Forced by the environment to become stronger bleh bleh,...

No, in them, MC aint the prey, hes the hunter. He does everything on his own. He has a high goal, hes blessed with talent (maybe luck if the author make a good excuse lol) that out played everyone around him. Hes just a xanxia's MC, hes special. His enemies? What enemy?🤣 He have no enemy. His enemies, opponents, etc r nothing but his stepping stones that he will step on to get to his goal.

The author knows how to lure us. He kept a bunch of secrets and left a rlly big room for further developments. (Lel, xanxias y all knew. Realm>realm>realm>realm> etc. 🤣🤣🤣)

MC is quite calm and composed (he doesnt f*ck up 🙃)

If u r searching for a novel where MC dominates.

But he progress slow and literally done almost everything on his own. Yup, this is ur novel.

And tbh. I have read it for a long time ago. Made it to around chap 1700 only. (Lel, I was like, huh? Its 1700 already, is it gonna end soon? Too bad, I wanted this xanxia to be much longer. So I came to NU and saw the COO has around 3500 chap. Few days later I came back seeing more than 10 chaps added in COO but only 5 chaps translated. I was like: *f*ck it, im waiting for the fcking novel to be translated* 🤣🤣🤣)

I forgot a lot of shits so just read and feel it ur self.

Give the novel a chance. <<less

Started off decent but is quickly falling apart.

First off the society in the book is bonkers and is just dumb. The author makes it seem like your reputation matters in a cultivation word which only follows the law of the jungle or whoever has the biggest fist makes the rules. When a girl shuts down a person the author makes it seem like its the end of the world and it's humiliating to the etent you can never recover from it. The s*x s*ave practice is also so bonkers and... more>> makes it a insane plothole.*The arranged marriages are really just s*x s*avery as it can't be considered marrige in any well normal human civilization.*

To make it worse is just how terrible the battles and fights are. They litterally fight like 5 year olds with pillows. They never get hurt they always let the bad guys go and try not to hurt them. I am only on chapter 156 but after the like 950 attempt on the MCs life he hasn't even hurt or killed a single enemie he litterally let's every one of them go. Why? Because the author is lazy and figures he can just use the same bad guys over and over again. I am not even going to bother reading the fights at this point because I know the result the MC will gently rub the guys bu*t and say please try to kill me again in a chapter or two. Sigh such a waste of a initial good plot by turning a great ruthless powerhouse warrior to a tree hugging save and never harm anyone weak hippy. Sigh and it sounds like it gets worse. <<less

This one is a decent cultivation novel. Early on it's a bit boring, but gets more interesting pretty fast. There is nothing innovative here, but the fact that Wuxiaworld still has something like this is giving me hope.

One negative is that there are all these love interests, but they are all just a tease, at least up until this point.

A solid cultivation novel. I'm not going to lie to you and say this novel is revolutionary, or on the same level as other works like Daoist Gu (at least from what I've read so far). However, when compared to almost all other novels in the Xianxia/Xuanhuan genre it definitely stands out to me.

The characters seem interesting, even if they do fold in certain common molds (small girl with super strength and a fiesty attitude, mysterious girl from top-notch clan, crazy old man who is actually a powerhouse), but they're... more>> all still pretty likeable. I also like how the author seems to have a genuine idea for where he wants the plot to progress and started setting up plot lines very early on (a low standard to set I know, but seems rare now with all the filth coming out).

I also really like the protagonist's special abilities, even though they're definitely not used to their full potential.

I would give this novel a low 4 for now, but with potential for improvement (the author seems to be improving). Still, I'll put down 5 so more people take a look at the novel. <<less

This is a never ending thriller!!!

Its so good, and Lu Yin is a hilarious MC. I appreciate the fact that he's not some harem crazy pe*verted MC, but he is very greedy. There are a lot of mysteries to keep the reader interested, but its very long and a bit convoluted. The "universe" keeps expanding and it gets hard to keep tract sometimes.

All in all it a very good story, quite original, and will keep you hooked. 100% recommendation for those who are looking for a story to enjoy that... more>> isn't full of bull and crap like other xianxia c novels. <<less

This novel is really poor, Its for 14 years old. Don't listen to people who rated 5 stars, they probably are 14 years old too.

It was very genric, its like inferior swallowed star while swallowed star itself is 6/10. This novel is 3/10.

Don't let first 50 chapter fool you, this novel is not unique or interesting, it is written for 14 years old.

Plagued by the typical problem of Web novels, in that it doesn't give a damn about secondary or tertiary characters.

Now, you might think that's fine, that no one other than the MC matters... But that couldn't be further from the truth.

You see, humans are tethered to not just hopes and dreams, but to things like society, family, and companions. Without these things, life loses meaning other than whatever indulgence you chain yourself too.

The MC in this one is the same. We don't know his hopes, his goals, or anything but... more>> this vague connection to "Home". The MC himself, while admitting he's "from" earth (spoiler:he's not), the MC doesn't really give a damn to earthlings other than Earth avoiding immediate destruction. Heck, he doesn't really give a damn about other people too. Except maybe Emperor Yasin, but only so far as that the old man doesn't die. The MC wouldn't go out of his way to make the old man happy unless it coincidences with his mission.

I know nothing personal about the MC other than his pride. There's nothing drives him as person. The MC is, quite simply, alien (lol) or failing that, some cyborg that's been programmed to care about his "face" like every other CN protag. Oh, and "breaking through the heavens". Can't forget about that.

So! Because the MC doesn't give a flying f*ck (or the author fails to show it because they are just inept at showing) about people, the setting, and everything else in the universe, I as the reader also don't give a flying f*ck about the story. f*ck, I expect there to be very few recurring characters like every CN where they're given a short arc before being completely forgotten.

The only thing that has my attention is the mystery of "Home" which is the illusive organisation that had set up MC to be at Earth and gives him objectives in the first place. The problem is, they're so f*cking uninvolved with the story that I couldn't even find them on the Wiki!

If you're the type to care about only the MC and not the world he lives in, the people he bonds with, and the companionship that's made along the journey, then you might enjoy this story. But if you care for more than just power levels and whatever ass pull power up the author decides to bring in the next arc, then I suggest looking for a different novel. <<less

It's a good scifi / xuanhuan novel, but the further you read the more the MC focus on his "empire" and less on cultivation.

All the political schemes and the tournaments are spanning over lots of chapters and sometimes the authors rushes some endings, so it feels there are quite a lot of unnecessary fillings.

The story is a 5/5, with a very deep and well done world building, and lots of mysteries to uncover. MC is quite ruthless and sly but with a bottom line, so he is not evil. Still,... more>> his goldenfinger is quite OP, so unfortunatelly for us readers, the author makes sure the MC acts s*upid about it time to time, and it's a bit frustrating to read these lines...

After chapter 1350, the writting is quite rushed and you guess more or less most of the mysteries. Furthermore the MC changes a lot his behavior at this point, with the MC acting low key just to restart the plot. So, knowing there are 4000+ chapters, it was a good time to stop reading for me ! The novel was definitely worth reading up to there ! <<less
