He never performed well in either middle nor high school, and even after becoming an adult, he never worked. Be it morning, noon or night, he only played an online game. For him, being the world’s number one rank, playing that online game, was his very reason for living.

One day, his account was hacked and his character deleted. Restoration was impossible. Nothing that could be done. The number 1 rank that he literally spent his life to attain and to defend was now lost. Filled with despair, he turned to su*cide.

When he opened his eyes again, there was the online game. No, the world itself looked similar to the game. He had been reborn as the extra character of the premium avatar he created in the past, but left untouched.

The former world’s top, was reborn in a world that looked like that online game. That was the beginning of his extraordinary legend.

A knight, a cat, a dark elf, and so on. Together with several unique companions, his training to regain his “world’s first rank” now begins.

TLDR: It's well wort reading

Translation 5/5

Readability 5/5

Plot 4/5

Characters 4/5

World building 4/5

It's a really well done take on the "I transmigrated into a videogame" genre. The author hits most of the hot buttons people have on the arcs and handles them really well. Harem, s*ave, school arc, powering up, all there and all handled in an interesting way, that doesn't leave you going no, no, no

Okay, first off this has spoilers.

This story is AVERAGE. Don't get me wrong, it's quite a good story to lose yourself if you have time but it isn't great or anything. It's a missmatch of other novels/animes trying to create something but still doesn't feel "Right" when you reach the end.

It doesn't have worldbuilding at all, everything feels rushed and "sudden". The world itself is broken in my opinion, it literally has buggs that WORK in real life for the MC and the explanations are subpar and always to blame... more>> as "just like in the game!". Yet sometimes it decides to "not be like the game at all!" on the most smallest and less important things. How come the buggs that are made to make the life of MC a cake walk work in "real life" but minor things like characters or items that should had existed, don't and some things like the lore of spirits or feelings and their life are inmediatly push aside because MC just cares about "reaching 1# fast".

Like something that should had been know beforehand or at minimum mentioned and in fact you didn't even know existed but it suddenly is an important fact, like the Church country or the empire... they literally never existed till they had problems against those countries in specific. Towns are non-important, they are created along the way, so are countries and dungeons.

The powerlevels are all over the place. Whats that? Clear a low level dungeon alone? With three people? Never hear before! But don't they have "tittle holders"? Those guys after seeing the interactions with the main characters seem to be able to solo most dungeons by themselves, hell a rank A adventurer even MADE IT to the boss room of a dungeon alone with her spirit and she is... what? 17? 16? Yet MC was the one everyone was amased because HE did some small lvl dungeon easily? It's confusing as hell how the world works.

Can't help but find SOME comparison to some other novels or animes but that is something nice to have, so long as they are DIFFERENT or just "cameos".

The love/harem is one-dimensional and boring. It's "just there", there is never any interaction that would had raised their relationship yet the girls are all over the MC. Yes, he has the "handsome face that I brough with real money!" but the girls, all of them fall for him because he saved/helped/berate them.... it's like all of them all virg*n girls who fall for the first one knight to help them or have a submissive fetish which seems an insult to actual females and for those here for "Romance".

But, at the end of the day that is with EVERYONE but one character, Yukari. The dark elf and later her spirit are the only ones that have ACTUAL romance with actual situations in which you can see how she loves the MC and how she keeps falling deeper in love with him. Her spirit literally has the SAME mentality that our MC has and is constantly in conflict with her summoner because she hates it when she flirts with MC so she cuts her INMEDIATLY if she even thinks she is flirting with him, which is nice in my opinion. She has the backstory to have an actual reason to has fallen with MC and the love grows as the story advances.... and most of all, they fuc*ed. Off screen but they did.

Another fact is how MC has the god damn King of Spirits as his summon yet it barely seemed to make waves in the world, literally no one cares or gave a damn about it because everyone gets surprised by him... even after having SUMMONED him in front of an audience of 200+ people with spies among them.

Ugh, there are SO MANY flaws and plotholes that it hurts but that is what to expect from a story of an isekai into a game in which the BUGGS from the game world... WORK in reality with no explanation!

MC decides to su*cide after loosing his main character in a game was the biggest problem with me, it made me so god damn angry yet at the same time it feels like a "joke" towards japanese people and their high rates of su*cide that they even have a "su*cide forest" in which a youtuber even found a body first day after entering it and created a whole debacle and backlash because he made fun of it and showed it on youtube. It makes me angry personally because I once HAD to help a family member stop another one from doing so with a gun when I was like 11, to hear that person crying and saying they just want it to end as you try to pull their arm with the gun away from their head but barely feel like you are doing anything. This MC was pure garbage from the start but that is not just bias.

MC is one of the worse types that exist and plague most "modern" isekais. He is someone who was number 1 in a game, lose his position so life doesn't have meaning anymore so he su*cides. Somehow he gets his wish and yet he treats the world as a game, he treats relationships as part of the game too, and he treats life as a game once more. "Killing? It doesn't matter, this is a game for me!" is what it boils down to after some chapters. MC has a one track mind of wishing to reach number 1 but most of the time he cares about things like making big waves but other times it's fine to do big waves? Political backlash? Oh no, that is bothersome!... ten chapters later it is reversed. Political backlash? Meh, I'm the number 1 in the world! Bring it!.

MC gives 0 damn about people and only "uses them" but somehow everyone things he is the gift from god himself, hell he gives LIFE ADVICE to people, and it feels so very wrong from a ret*rd like him who forsake his life for so little to give LIFE ADVICE.

MC goes against the logic of generals, actual mages of the world and other people who by all means should have better understanding of "Real life battles" with his "game strategist from the game!" ignoring the fact that this is "Real life" and fights or wars should be DIFFERENT.

It still boogles my mind that this dude can go to high level dungeons and soloed them... alone, yes he is overleved but we NEVER get information on how much because all they talk about is their skills and their grades. What kind of backward ass of a game must he had been the number one off... if he can "break" such a game so easily? It makes no sense to me, it feels like a bad gacha and he su*cide because of it. Anko is the biggest middle finger that this world could had been given to MC, his only "real" challenge that he soloed and even tamed. Learns about how there is something like god controlling monsters but shruggs and ignores it completely instead of asking more questions because he only cares about reaching number 1.

Exp and stats are never explained. It feels like they are normal people till one time he tried to slap a girl but he is so stronk that she was send flying and lose conciousness.... hell some people are even HURT by hitting him by their difference in stats but it is never explained HOW MUCH his actual power is till it is important and even then we barely get a glance because "he got hurt by our different in stats" and nothing more.

MC cut down the tittle holders with no effort many times and doesn't even seem to care about that fact even knowing they are tittle holders.

Some characters should be made of cardbox material... they literally are just there just to exist, even cardboard has more personality and emotional grow than them. They did my poor Eko dirty, she is worse than cardboard, she just exist to make childrish noises, like some sort of annoying companion that does nothing but say random stuff outlout every so often to make you remember they exist.

On the positive side:

The translation is TOPNOTCH, it is amazing and doesn't feel at ALL that it was done by machine or something similar. It's quite nice to see really.

It's.... quite nice to read once you learn to ignore the "Flaws", or by knowing it is a wihfulfilment but it isn't great or anything. It's calming because you know there will be NO struggle or drama... it's the equivalent of Playing Animal Crossing after hours of non-stop League of Legends toxicity to calm your nerves.

In resume?

Now, with all negatives aspects of the story, it is just me pointing out how MUCH better it could had been but will probably be ignored because this is a WISHFULFILMENT of the HIGHER ORDER.

There is no need for drama or worldbuilding or even actual really worked on characters because at the end of the day it's the story of a dude getting to number 1 easily by using actual real world hacks/buggs. There are WORSE stories out there, but this one is just a "meh", an average read with nothing really positive but all negative aspects can be ignored completely by the fact that is wishfulfilment. This story isn't a struggle to be the number 1, it isn't grim or dark, it doesn't have common sense or sense at all... it's just a wishfulfilment in which everything goes well for MC. Makes more money than the royal family? No one cares or crashes the market. Makes nine mansions covering most of a "Zone" close to the capital even after being flagged as a "prince from another nation" in the school? No one even wonders how dangerous having such lavish mansion that can be actually used as fortress or danger to the country he is in.

He gets the KING OF SPIRITS? People are amazed but no one talks about it so everyone is always surprised about him. He has LIGHTING MAGIC, something NO ONE HAS in this world? Nope, no one cares and it doesn't even makes waves at all nor does anyone he meets knows about it. He creates chaos in the capital after the king was assasinated and he was blamed? Nope, still people from outside the country and even IN the country don't even mention or know his identity even after he gives a name. Adventurers guild will create problems for me? Never even mention them again after chapter 20 or so, they existed for like 10 chapters and were throw into the forgotten pit.

Wishfulfilment, in which nothing makes sense and everything goes well for the MC with no struggle, drama and has girls literally dripping wet even if he doesn't interact with them (idle talk chapters of the school). Good read if bored and nothing else to read, not recommended for those that want a more serious story. <<less

Well it was fun at first but then it turn very typical of japanese isekai novel where MC keep complaining how annoying a girl was but did nothing to change it and in the end the girl will be part of the group. And they still being annoying to the end.

Another one novel I picked up after reading manga bit, and also another one dropped in frustration after a while. Honestly it is not very bad. It is bland Isekai based on the game. MC, while not being very interesting, at least is okay OP MC. Game elements, while not being very original, are not annoyance much – skills or items descriptions are not taking ridiculous amount of space (or rather pretty much missing). Protagonist party is very normal – regular pretty girl, regular beast-girl, regular elf – but at... more>> least not over-bloated to the point you hardly remember all their names or/is full of lolis. Translation is quite fine. As a whole, something seen a lot of times and passable to spend some time.

Then author forced plot into some ridiculous point. Characters acted unreasonable and illogical only so it could transition in a scene where everyone goes wow about MC. Even if MC was showing his awesomeness with his knowledge and skills on the daily basis, it apparently was not enough. Sure OP protagonists are always act over the top and their party usually are the audience to admire them. But to force scenes just for the sake of MC to showoff his OP? It gets annoying.

Spoiler

Where I dropped it. MC comes to the city with the goal to make some money selling goods from the dungeon. The dungeon which considered hard and was not fully cleared yet. So he goes around the stores and stores do not believe he can supply the goods. What would be logical thing to do? Conquer dungeon for the few days, gather enough so you can use it as a proof that you can deliver the goods? Somehow the party dismissed the plan. No, apparently you need to make them all trust you can do it before you really can start gathering supplies. So there comes convoluted plot to get registered in the Adventurer’s guild, waste some time raising rank in the guild and involve Merchants guild, which, amazingly, does not trust in MC abilities either. To convince Merchants guild of his prowess, MC needs to make demonstration for 200 people. Who are the those 200? I would understand the need to convince directors, branch managers, but why MC needs to convince every last grunt? Where is this mob even comes from? Janitors and cooks? Realisation comes at the scene of demonstration. Its faceless background so they can be awed by the MC. He does kick**s summoning, and the mob goes cowering in the corner. All because author wanted to feed to MC’s “I am awesome.”

There was this old anecdote: Job interview at circus. Applicant describes his performance. “We suspend few dozen sacks full of sh*t under the roof and drop them. Imagine – audience covered in shit, artists covered in shit, orchestra covered in shit... and here I enter the stage, dressed all in white.” In the end, sums a lot of novels.

I was honestly really disappointed with the characters. I mean, it goes from 0 to 100 real fast.
Spoiler

Like seriously, the fact that he f*cked both Sylvia and Yukari are said in a single sentence, in the most off-handed way possible. HUH? When did this development happen when had no interest in them before, and there were no indications that the story was going to go this way? I wouldn't have read this if I knew that was gonna happen.

I would say *maybe* the first 40-100 chapters will hold your interest, I guarantee the rest will not.

After spending what seemed like forever on MULTIPLE weapon tournaments (varied weapons and the tournaments occured twice in under 100 chapters). I couldn't even try to continue reading. Nothing from the premise remains and what's left is bad.

I like it quite a bit. The characters aren't too cliche and the MC actually has a pair even though he's a harem protagonist. I can see this going downhill if they keep adding more love interests, but as of this point, there's few enough that they aren't one-dimensional.

I only have two complaints. I don't really care about the mansion servants even though they are now playing a big role in the story. There are just too many of them. I don't care that there's a lot of them per... more>> se, but I do have a problem having so many named characters. It makes the narrative unclear.

My other complaint is the translation speed. While I'm thankful that it's being translated at all, due to health reasons, the translator only released 3 real chapters in the past 6 months. While there was a glossary and some pictures released as well, it could be this release frequency that made me remember the servant matters to be more prominent than they actually were. <<less

After reading the manga, I continued on novel, skipped until chapter 25 prbbly and continued reading for almost 25 hours. It has been a good read so far, had a few laughs as well. The perspective of another chareacter towards MC or side story is the charm of the novel. Almost subscribe to the translator's patreon, unfortunately it already sold out. Only the expensive available. I hope they release ep 87 soon.

Holy mother of inflation.

One set of clothes cost over a million of their currency. Usually, fantasy settings have a poor education system, making people bad with numbers, so having unnecessarily high numbers for their currency wouldn't make sense not to mention that one unit of their currency is basically worthless.

Seeing what kind of currency system a fantasy world has usually is a decent indicator of how good or bad it is as a whole.

The common copper silver gold system could be confusing, but make sense for a society of people... more>> bad at math, provided one of the more valuable one's are worth an easy to work with number of the less valuable ones. <<less

okayish

system is not rather confusing but also bit original so not a problem, grinding didnt bore me (this is a first time it didnt), heroines are really good, MC is meh, events are nothing interesting, fights are bit overdramatic and considering this novel has a op MC it set me off even though fights werent bad, side characters are nothing interesiting, world building is plain.

seemingly first chapters made a lot of people refrain from reading, and altough I agree, after reading LNs bit too much, I didnt even remembered that... more>> happened by the next chapter and it got never mentioned again so I had no problem about it

at the latest chapters because of everything going on for the story and the like suddenly stopped and all we had was MC showing off and people around him going all fangirling for him, I dropped it

was good for killing time <<less

An uninspired generic isekai, nothing special, nothing ambitious, shallow world, so why 4 stars? - Because it doesn't try to be epic, and there are no obvious logic mistakes,

lack of author skill is not thrown at your face, like no one cares, that is so comon these days in other novels

I see a lot of complaint in these reviews, some makes sense but as you read on, you find out it all has a flow and it's part of the story. Imo it's only fair to judge or make reviews if you're up to date or close with the latest chapter.

Quick summary to get you started or stay away from this one:

-MC is op, he used to be the #1 player before coming to this isekai, and basically no one can beat him at any point so far. This is... more>> mainly because of the big skill gap between isekai world's level compared to the gaming world. people don't respawn in isekai when they die so they take less risk when it comes to skill building.

-Fight is all skill based, every move is a skill and to be able to manipulate these skill decides the outcome of the fight.

-There's not much of surprise element. You pretty much know what's going to happen but how it's going to happen is something you'll be finding out throughout the book. Main characters don't die. Its not gory. Quite loose. I enjoy it more when they include death that helps MC grow.

-The skills seem to be thought out pretty well and are detailed.

-Harem, nothing much to say here. I'm not really into harem but this one definitely is one. MC team is all girl, some guy butler but 100+ more maids and bunch of fan club. yeah...

-There seem to be a bigger picture/story behind all this. I'm very interested to find out but not quite there yet.

-It has a lot of comedy that makes it enjoyable and easy to read. One thing I liked a lot about this one.

-I read the raw japanese ln version but it seem like the english one doesn't do a great job with translation.

************************************************

Any how that's all from me, you decide if you want to give it a shot or not. At least read the first 100c before making the final decision. <<less

This is painful to read. Its as if the author saw the definition of Mary Sue/Gary Stu and was like I'm gonna do it. Literally after every arc, the main character's harem expands. I don't understand how people enjoy this, anything that happens makes literally no sense.

Juggles a moderately large cast better than most WNs I've read recently... in particular, the author makes sure to focus on every new face long enough to firmly establish their character so that they remain distinguishable even when they fade to the background. He's not afraid to push characters entirely out of sight to keep an engaging and brisk pace - yet at the same time no character has been neglected, with everyone being brought at appropriate moments for their time in the spotlight.

Certainly it's not a very deep or... more>> psychological story (the author seems to have backed away from that after the college arc and left MC's mental issues as a sort of floating question) but what it does it does well, and with remarkable finesse at that. The translator and editor do a professional job as well - only raised an eyebrow once in 80 chapters, when "mamono" was translated two different ways in consecutive lines of dialogue (obviously not an obstacle to comprehension). <<less

Eh it is alright in a read only to pass time here and there sense.

Plot 3/5. Nothing to see here. Nothing new. Just your typical end up in a videogame world by some means. Also the story takes awhile to pick up, so yea many of the first few chapters are just slow.

Combat 3/5. Not really that exciting. There are maybe a few fights with prolonged combat scenes, but most of it is just meh.

Slice of life 3/5. Mostly what this is really is or seems so far in context.... more>> Guess it can be reflection to plot.

World Building 3.5/5. Probably the only interesting thing. The world building is decent enough and focuses on balance of game mechanics in a world turned real.

MC 2/5. Has some good perks, but too many bad ones. He is alright with general approach on some things, but the main gripe is next issue.

Harem 0/5. Why rated so bad? Cause the MC is your typical cuck surrounded by lots of girls. Tired of all this dumb, beta male crap in Japanese novels.

2 stars might seem a bit harsh, but I believe it is being generous. If the MC wasn't such a pansy around women, it would be rated a lot higher. Especially when females are showing clear signs of wanting to get involved with MC. If you fine with beta MC bois, this is probably the novel for you. If you hate beta MCs, then don't read this, less you doing it to pass time and can put up with it. <<less
