Lin Feilu, or better known by her nickname—Green Tea Princess, was the best of all the scheming b*tches that the world had ever seen. She was the Oscar-winning actress among the masses with real life as her stage. Acting coy, slandering, feigning innocence, or playing the saint, she aced it all. Simply put, she was the proverbial villainess.

Ah, but retribution came way too early for this malicious personage and she died on her 27th birthday.

In death, Lin Feilu reflected on her career of 20 years as the Green Tea Princess. She was full of regret and remorse over the life she once led. She vowed, if there was an afterlife, she would atone for her misdeeds and be a good person.

She transmigrated into a five-year-old princess of the Dalin Dynasty. In the name of family, she had a sickly mother disfavoured by the emperor, a mentally challenged and daft older brother.

Based on the synopsis alone, I don't blame her being a green tea all over again.

She's not turning back on her vow but simply live a life again, it's not an afterlife because technically she's in a real life not the underworld.

Additional review:

  • It would be better if the nobility ranking was set in actual Chinese rank, not the Western/British rank. As the story was set in Chinese historical genre not Western.
  • In certain chapters there're couple of paragraph repetition with different translation composition. It looks like translator have yet to delete after they made revision.
  • One thing to note, the translated chapters didn't match the original novel. For example the current translated chapter 58 was only part of chapter 16 in the original novel. I'll continue reading it on MTL while waiting for the translation. Just FYI, this novel MTL is really hard to comprehend, not like some other novels which easy to understand, this novel was not one.
  • Other than a little typos here and there, the translator done a good job. Thank you for your hard work.
  • MTL reading partially completed.
  • I must say that this novel didn't fit my expectation, in my mind based on FL original character in her previous life alone, she should be very scheming and kinda malicious. But in her transmigrated life, she's very grounded and kinda simple, rather than a green tea, she's more like a white lotus.
  • Thankfully there's no hidden artifact or system or novel plotline, so everything she's experiencing was what a new life should be.

A fresh & unique take on bad girl turns good girl. MC uses her old tricks in order to safely live peacefully in her new life & in doing so improve the living conditions of her new found family.

A recommended read for those wishing to while the time away, the plot is good & the interactions between each of the characters bring a smile to ur face.

The translator splits the chapters into 4-ish parts and renames them as new separate chapters so its really hard to tell where in the novel I actually am rip

so far 5 stars, harem intrigue novels are my guilty pleasure

like the main character, although she's surprisingly morally good for being a so-called villainess. She schemes to protect herself but is tormented and recites buddhist scriptures when the people who harmed her die.

I rate this 4.5 stars. It's a very laid-back novel. With face slapping, doting parents, ruthless and scheming women. It dosen't have any romance in the beginning of the novel but it's pretty obvious who the leads are. The MC is very likeable as well. Overall very good

I loved first part of the story when she was a child... I still enjoyed her teenage years... her “adulthood” was an easy read too...

too easy for me...

I feel like she’s lost most of her wits and cleverness as she’s grown up... she’s faced less and less problems...

I kind of tolerated her “childishness”... but it could be annoying sometimes...

as she’s gown up she really didn’t face much obstacles and she became this spoiled, silly, loud, domineering girl. Like I was hoping she would have someone to fight with to show her bright mind but no... all she did was meeting more people and more people loving and spoiling her. She became a queen but it looks like all she did was to have fun... ? Like NO RESPONSIBILITIES... all she does is taking advantage of her husband love and doting... as he spoils her to no end... like it become a fairytale with birds and butterflies... I don’t know how can he take care of his country while bringing her out all the time... really disappointing

Pre-Review Notes: (up to translated ch 222, which is around raw ch late 40's, so below halfway through)

  • Plot is pretty much FL engaging in harem battles by scheming and acting cute.
    • She's a 27 year old actress with a cold life who died and transmigrated to a 5 year old disliked fifth princess. Eventually she climbs the ranks of the imperial palace through basically making everyone love her.
      • Ex: her imperial brothers and eldest sister once all sent imperial physicians to look up on her, lmao.
    • FL pretends to be all cute in front of the siblings to get her way (their interactions are quite funny and made me laugh out loud several times), but she can also be quite ruthless. Her narration is a little stale, as she's just like "time to meet more NPCs" or "looks like I'm going up against a mini-boss, " but I do believe as the story continues, she gains some emotional depth with her fam and it's not just scheming (sometimes it's hard to tell).
  • You know, I'm glad there isn't really a "romance" up to the translated chapters I've read bc FL just turned 6, lol, but the ML is pretty much in the background.
    • I skimmed some of the MTL (which wasn't too good with all the historical terms) and he kinda remains not-developed. Seems like the main leads get together as they grow older, so at least there isn't grooming or anything weird going on for the underage FL, lol. But in general this is not very romantic compared to other imperial palace Cnovels I've read.
  • The highlight is definitely re-building the imperial family through light psychological warfare (as the FL acts as a green tea b*, lol) and reconciliation. Some FL's choose to kill their way to the top, or maybe dominate over other factions. This FL chooses to act cute/nice and give gifts. She deals with her opponents with a smart, iron fist and even gets a support system that helps out.
  • Overall a pretty satisfying read (in terms of face-slapping) where you're never really worried about the stakes, since the FL has great delivery from the moment she gets reborn.

I love it ! The MC is scheming and I love how she treats her brother.

This is a novel about surviving in the palace so there are many face-slapping that I very much enjoy. The MC is kind to people who is good to her but ruthless when dealing with her opponents.

This was funny too and I had quite a few laughs reading it.

So yeah, 5 stars.

Read the translations and MTL-ed the rest of the way. This story was so heartwarming and everything was tied up so nicely. I loved all the characters. Rarely does it happen that I have zero complaints about both the FL and ML. While I wished there was more focus on the ML, I understand that the FL is the main character and the focus is on her. Plus, I truly enjoyed the arc with the Eldest Brother, who is probably my favorite character in this book. I'd bet a month's... more>> salary that he's also the author's favorite. Lol. I'm very satisfied with how the author dealt with the throne squabbles, and I'm glad everyone had their happy endings.

All in all, this was a wonderful light read and a really nice heartwarming romance. <<less

I super duper love this novel!!! I suggest you just look up the raw and google translate it since the translators are pumping out chapters like pulling teeth out of a lion. The chapter they are in now is only at chapter 32 in the raws.

Chapter 123 in translation is actually chapter 31 in RAW if anyone wants to MTL the novel. I read the MTL and finished it in about two days.

Fun and quick novel, not a lot of drama, and everything is pretty smooth sailing for our MC.

Absolutely enjoyed the story. Fluffy fluffy... The interaction of MC with her half siblings are so adorable. Really loved the story. I truly Despised the emperor.. The ML is also good one.. Although a madman, it's understandable why, , cause situation made him like that. Feel pity for the 2nd ml, , he's really pitiful.

Anyway I enjoyed the story. so I recommended it.

It was a relaxing read. Everything goes in MC's favor, which is a plus for me when I want to relax my mind through reading. She does work for it though, it doesn't just come to her, and there are some enemies for her to defeat. However, her luck seems to be pretty good as the solutions basically come to her door when she needs them, lol. In any case, it was cute and amusing. The romance is also satisfying in the later chapters.

Until like ch420🍃, the story has readability.

Ruined more than any other.

She was supposed to be romantically/sexually experienced, but she's now a stumbling mess in front of the totally inexperienced ml? They* called it "refreshing" seeing her like this. It's so fuucking OOC! What about the ml?! Can't he be the blushing fool?? They wouldn't be OOC**, and within non-flirtatious interaction, they'd still be compatible. Also no green tea action since 200 ch ago bc she' busy being the emperor's spoiled consort. Gag me.

**They wouldn't be OOC if they made the ML a smart/quiet and shy-in-front-of-MC type. More like a submissive yandere than a domineering yandere.

HOWEVER, I will say is story is up many people's allys, and if you're okay with what I've talked about above, you'll love this story. They write this shiite for a reason. <<less

The story starts off strong, with various plots and devious political schemes occurring as the main character is forced to adapt the world. The court is vicious, a place of backstabbing and face-slapping. Our main character uses her apparent age and identity as a small, cute child to manipulate those around her and raise her immediate family to the top of the ladder!

... The story pacing then slows to the speed akin of frozen maple syrup, while she essentially runs around being cute and acting like an ACTUAL child, and... more>> not a literal adult. Especially not the MC we were promised in the beginning.

I see a lot of people who really enjoyed this story, especially since they apparently really enjoyed the ‘fluffy, slice of life’ aspect, and the slow pacing. But as someone who came for the court politics and a black-bellied actress using merciless methods to help her family, I’ve been waiting for the actual plot to start back up again for over a hundred chapters. At chapter 350, I give up.

Personally, I think the series deviates away from what the summary promised, to become a dragging, boring slice of life with some romance sprinkled somewhere in the actual molasses of the story. If you like slow slice of life... go for it, I guess. It’s not written poorly, and the translation is very good. <<less

A scene made me cry, the rest made me gush (mostly familial interaction). The female lead started scheming and seeing the people she interacted with as pawns and NPCs but she came to really love them which was *chef kiss*. I love that her elder brother found himself after long years. The minimal interaction between the two lead characters in their teenage years made me blush and laugh. The relationship between the mentioned couple with their children is also good! (Extra chapters)

She tries to help and befriend a hostage prince of a hostile nation while also trying to gain favour from her father and siblings so her bio mother and brother can have a better life. Does she not realize that if she is caught, it could go so wrong?

This novel is filled with fluff, fluff, and more fluff! Especially in the later chapters, I wasn't strong enough to prevent my lips from curling into a smile throughout the journey to the end of the novel.

The novel has got its share of schemes and tragedies, but the author made sure to mention as little death as possible, with reasonable explanation, of course. It's pretty realistic, relaxing, and sweet, a good choice to pass your time when you're tired of the constant fights and intense plots of other novels.

I was... more>> a bit put off by the fact that the MC was having such smooth sailing journey, despite it being rather plausible due to the firm foundation she laid from early on, there was still a bit too little confrontations, the amount of blows exchanged from halfway to the end of the story was a bit too few. This detail was explained, though, by the MC's occasional ponderings
