With the marriage of her prostitute mother to the Count, Aria’s status in society skyrocketed immediately. After leading a life of luxury, Aria unfairly meets death because of her sister Mielle’s schemes. And right before she dies, she sees an hourglass fall as if it were a fantasy. And just like that, she was miraculously brought back to the past.

“I want to become a very elegant person, just like my sister, Mielle.”

In order to face the villainess, she must become an even more wicked villainess. This was the new path Aria chose to take revenge on Mielle who mu*dered both her and her mother.

The MC is equally hateful as the villainess, but she is s*upider and gets a golden finger. To sum it up the MC is unsympathetic, dumb, OP. This novel's heroine is just uninspiring. MC is soo lame, not only does she know the future, she is mentally a decade older that her rival and has magical powers that let her rewind the clock, she also lacks any innovation and steals all of the villainess' ideas. This MC is pathetic.

The story was great up until a certain threshold was passed about halfway through, at about chapter 150. I'll get into spoiler stuff at the bottom, but for now I rate it a 3 because:

    1. The struggles up to the midway point are somewhat unique with the hourglass ability.
    2. The characters are shallow. Development is minimal, but it exists.
    3. Wuxia tier plot armor.
    4. Very weak antagonist
    5. In my opinion, the direction the story takes is a bad one. I explain this below.
As for the spoiler stuff:

Spoiler

It seemed interesting at first, but when you realize that the main character takes revenge on someone who hadn't yet done anything wrong it becomes souring. The main character is in her twenties when she was killed, and was sent back to age 14. The main antagonist (Mielle) is also around 14. It would be around a decade before the main character is killed. Mielle is innocent at this time, and they barely know each other.

In the end, the main character ends up killing Mielle after driving her to the point of insanity through extreme manipulation and bullying. Reminder again that this girl is only a teenager. The real mu*derer is the MC.

In my opinion, a much better direction to take everything would have been for the MC to try to fix Mielles nasty personality through the usage of the hourglass ability. She wasn't a psychopath, as shown by snippets from her perspective. She was just extremely bratty and spoiled, and was raised to think that everything belonged her and should always go her way.

This is a second chance story with getting revenge in the center of the story. Don't expect anything new. You'll find similar plot in other second chance novel but I don't mind it because this is one of my favorite genre.

But that doesn't mean that I've nothing to complain, especially about MC:

Spoiler
  • I don't think MC is pitiable. Yes, many of her bad behaviours are resulting from Mielle's instigation but it still doesn't justify her horrible actions towards other people in the past, especially when she's already an adult who should know better between right or wrong.
  • I don't like it when MC tried to manipulate Oscar's feeling in order to break Mielle's heart because Oscar didn't involve in MC's death. I almost drop the novel when MC kept clinging to Oscar and was even desperate enough to keep him around although Oscar already chose Mielle.
  • I think Mielle's behaviour is influenced by Emma, who is a mother figure for her. Unfortunately, Emma often gives her a bad advice. She's basically still a minor who is impressionable. Her parents are hardly around too and don't guide her well. His father is too busy with his business and rarely at home while her step mother (the countess/MC's mother) is too busy polishing herself and often neglets her duty as a mother. No wonder her personality become twisted.
  • I don't know why the countess and MC feel resentment towards the count. The countess literally marry him for his money and the count marry her for her beauty. But although she's a commoner (and also a prosti****), the count still makes her his legal wife and also give her a countess title. He doesn't give the countess and MC his love but he doesn't mistreat them either. They could live lavishly without anything to worry. Yes he's a bit biased towards his own children but he doesn't treat MC harshly either. And don't forget that the initial money which MC's invested comes from the count's money.
  • My last straw for MC is when she saves Cain and Mielle from execution just to torture them more (doesn't she have it enough?). And at that time, actually Cain and Mielle are already repent themselves. But MC still kills them.

While the premise itself wasn't that grand. Revenge, Villainess noble lady, pretending 'saintess' are quite ordinary.

But the author make it up with quite exceptional writing skill, I'm surprised that I found it very interesting, while I did doubt it at first though.

You see, the most exceptional could be found on MC's character building. She is quite ambitious, and well maybe a lot of readers doesn't really like cunning protagonist. But she really doesn't show mercy toward her enemy. I think, she is quite charming in its own way.

Well.. Now that... more>> I already completed this, I can only tell you that this has gone out of my cup of tea. The MC was merciless, it's really thrilling experience to follow her character and that is a pros. But in my opinion toward the end of the novel, she kinda loses her 'revenge' justification and very soon it became 'boring'. Still even though the merciless revenge was very strong theme here, it reeks more of hardcore feminism. I don't hate such notion, I just didn't find it befitting the word 'impressive' the way author pull it through. All in all the most inexcusable cons might be the predictable plot, which is always a major minus point in making from my review. <<less

So I was pretty happy at first because MC is the first villainess I read who actually apologises for the evil things she did and recognises that she was at fault and deserves to be executed. And bam! Suddenly she is *innocent* because her victim was evil all along! At this point I lost all hope for this novel, but I was kind of morbidly curious so I continued. The point I stopped was when she felt regretful about having ripped out the tongue of one of her maids in... more>> her former live and felt that she had been 'too harsh' (that's an incredible understatement). This MC is a total psychopath. I don't cheer on her to get revenge at all, she did deserve her death. Both the MC and the villain deserve death. It's really funny that the author thinks I should suddenly support the MC getting revenge, what about the MC accepting that she was in the wrong? In the end MC is just s*upider that the villain sister and both are equally horrible human scum. MC is also pathetic that her only chance of winning is knowing the future and clashing her wits against someone who is much younger that herself. It's supposed to be this grand moment when she wins against the villain because she uses future knowledge and the author praises her for outsmarting someone many years her junior. Instead of it being inspiring or amazing the MC just appears very pathetic. <<less

Some aspects were interesting, even entertaining, but...

  1. There was too much of a plot armor
  2. Character development was just bait. There is none.
  3. Petty, immature, spiteful and vindictive
I'd give a 1-star but for me that's actually a Zero, and that's too sad.

If you enjoy reading about revenge and solely revenge, then this novel is for you. The MCs obsession with revenge totally overtakes her life and leaves little to no character development. It's boring to read and I can't find it in me to feel bad for her as she has no redeeming qualities.

A bit unique, but not a great work at all.

Do you want a lame, s*upid and petty villainess? Then this is the story for you.

I never liked the goody-two-shoes type and I've also read/seen and liked anti-hero protagonists, but even for that... she's too dislikeable. Might be the fact that she's petty? At least the other evil protagonists had a greater purpose in mind and one not completely selfish. And they only attacked other villains, she mistreats and hurts innocent characters. Ppl say she had a tragic story in... more>> the past... as if. She deserves what happened in the first timeline, unfortunately, she got lucky with the rebirth.

The bland ML simply gains interest in her because she's "smart". It's mostly due to her cheats, but never mind that! She doesn't really have any other qualities. Maybe the fact that she treats her people well - no matter how wrong they are? So none. When you think of her being fond of Anne, really... just 2 rotten peas in a pod. <<less

The term "Villainess" is an understatement to the FL. She is so self centered, selfish, ungrateful, cruel, s*upid but thinks she is smart. She never thinks of her mistakes and just blames everyone else for her behavior. She lives in her own world where she thinks that she is a very pitiful character and other people are really bad. The FL never thinks about anybody's feeling, all she cares about is to how to use everyone as chess pieces and make use of them.... more>>
Spoiler

She also seduces her step-brother to get him on her side and to use him. So disgusting..

[collapse]

First time line - The FL is a daughter of a prostitute and her mother marries a count and takes along the daughter with her. Her step-brother and step-sister hate her and her mother. Her step-sister plans to trap and MAKES her kill her and this is later taken to court and she is beheaded by her step-brother. After her death, she is reborn. Everything that happened in the first timeline is the also the fault of the FL, but she blames every else except herself.

Lets talk about each characters -

FL's mother - An ungrateful piece of shit. She will be working as a prostitute and she seduces the count and he marries her and she becomes a countess. She will only be interested in his wealth and wont care about him or his children. She doesn't care much about the FL also, she just gives her what she wants. She is a very selfish lady. She had the audacity to blame the count for everything in the end after cheating him of all his property.

Spoiler

In the end, she blames everything on the count when he is bedridden saying how he dint respect or love and how he ignored when his children were rude to her. She and the FL will take away all his wealth by cheating him. How can she blame the count? Its not like she loved or cared about him or his children. She just wants his money and the count took what he wanted. She has no right to blame him at all. Other than not loving her, the count really takes care of the FL and her mother. But she cruelly leaves him when he is bed ridden and doesn't even care when she comes to know he committed su*cide.

[collapse]

FL step-sister - She is s*upid and selfish. I dont blame her for hating the FL and her mother. Its very difficult to accept a step-mother for any child much less a prostitute. This is frowned upon even in our world, much less in those medieval period where the status of a noble was high. And she will be jealous of FL because she will be beautiful. She will have a fiance with whom she will be in love with. (He is the most pitiful character in the whole novel). In the first timeline she will make a plan to make the FL hate her and make the FL look bad. She also pushes the FL to kill her and get caught. (The FL really tries to kill her, can she really blame the step-sister completely for this? Doesn't she have her own brain? Just because someone tells her to kill someone, she tried to kill them?). The second timeline, she loses everything and get caught in all the traps of the FL and dies.

FL step-brother - He wont like that his father re-married and he will have no respect for his step mother. He will be protective and caring towards only his sister. In the first time line, he really thinks the FL was bad (He wont know about his sister plotting) so he himself beheads her. So the FL will hate him for this. In the current timeline, She will want him to be on her side so she seduces him. And when he becomes interested in her, she starts behaving like he is disgusting and committing a sin? Why the hell did she seduce him then?

Spoiler

Even while behaving like he is disgusting in front of the ML, she still seduces him again and again to get things done UNTIL the end when he is completely destroyed. In the end when he loses everything and just becomes a page boy in the palace. He will leave all these thoughts behind and will just want to take care of his sister. But the FL doesn't let him go, she kills him and blames it on her step-sister.

[collapse]

FL step-father / count - He is a pitiful one. He marries the prostitute despite all oppositions. He will be an ok husband. He doesn't love her but he gives her everything she wants and even to the FL, he is pretty good father. He gives her all things he gave to his daughter. Even when FL wants tutors and other things he never opposes, he gives her everything she wants. He also becomes happy when the FL gives him a kerchief she embroiders for him and uses it.

Spoiler

At one time, he takes away the credit of the FL and says its the idea of his daughter, I know this is bad, But it wasn't such a big sin where he had to die so pitiful. (ALSO it wasn't the idea of the FL either, in the previous timeline, her step-brother comes up with it. So she was stealing the idea herself. She dint really have the right to blame him and ignore him so much for it.) He really did take care of the daughter and mother for a long time and gave them everything. He is later calculated by the FL step-sister and becomes bed ridden. Only his wife takes care of him and he will be in a shock where his own daughter tried to kill him. He will think that only his wife and step daughter are nice and when the FL's mother asks him to write all his property to her name, he does. After this the FL and her mother accuse him of being a bad husband and father and abandon him. He later commits su*cide in the hospital.

[collapse]

ML - dumb as a pig. He falls in love with the FL at first sight and pursues her. He is so love struck that he never says anything whenever she is committing a sin, he always thinks she is correct and takes her side. He will hate her step-brother for he will be liking the FL. He will never know that it was the FL who seduced him first.

Spoiler

The FL takes away all the sugar and creates a crisis in the whole capital where it becomes expensive like crazy and so many people suffer. When he comes to know it was the FL, HE NEVER BLAMES HER. Just for some money she did all this and the whole capital was affected and he doesn't even say anything? OH and he is also very proud of her that she is so powerful. Doesn't he look at her methods and HOW she became powerful? WTF?? Is he even a king who SHOULD care about his people first?

He will be friends with a neighboring king. He would have saved him from an assassination attempt and later also helps him in taking out all the corrupt nobles. In turn the neighboring king would have asked for 50 years of peace (meaning no wars between them). This is not much given he has saved the ML and helped him and also the FL so many times. But the FL will not be happy with this, did she want to go for a war with him even after him helping them so much? I was beyond speechless. The ML will owe him a lot just for saving his life. The ML again NEVER tells her anything for having such ideas.

[collapse]

Oliver - Fiance of the step-sister. The most pitiful character in the novel. The FL crushes his life in all ways possible. First, she will try to seduce him because she will want to get back to her step-sister. He really falls in love with her and she later starts behaving pitiful in front of him, I was very disgusted.

Spoiler

Later his whole family is beheaded because of treason and his title is taken away and becomes a commoner. Even until the end, he will never hate anyone. The FL never apologizes to him, her biggest MERCY to him is not to kill him even while knowing that the treason had nothing to do with him. He was innocent but he suffered a lot because of the FL.

[collapse]

I like the first half of the story... BUT getting to the last arc, I just skimmed it bc MC was distasteful.

I hate that the MC is stepping too much on others despite already got her revenge and achieving her success.

She got no character development!!! Only revenge on her mind and too much OP in a wrong way.

I felt that the author shouldn't added extra chapters that "unintentionally" made the readers sympathized the "villains"... or the author shouldn't prolonged the revenge plot for certain people making readers pity them... more>> more.

Spoiler

Focusing Mielle's hardships from Aria and Annie on the last chaps made me symphatized her despite her previous evilness (I hate that feeling)... I also can't help but think that Count's ending was harsh bc despite his negligence, he still the one who married the Countess despite her background and accepted Aria in the family as stepdaughter.

Plus, how easily the Countess moved on to another guy even tho he's Aria's dad is kinda distasteful.

If only the Count didn't marry the mom and adopted Aria... his family and home might be still peaceful

[collapse]

Also, this made me realized that MC is a leech bc despite hating the Count's family, she's still using their money and resources... same as her greedy mom.

Spoiler

I also think that Annie don't deserve her good fortune which how greedy she is. I know Aria also used her for the revenge but she's the typical bully that I usually hate

[collapse]

The chemistry of the leads also felt kinda lacking... I felt that their relationship is more of business partnership or partners-in-crime. You can only felt that they are really a couple on the last few chapters. <<less

After reading this, I kind of understand those who find the MC hateful. But in my humble opinion, that's the best trait lol!

There are many stories with a villainess as the main character, either they're actually good but framed, or they realise their mistake in the last second of their life -- then both received their miraculous second chance.

Those kind of plots are not bad, but it sure makes this story different, by a lot! A real villainess, a real evil girl, got her miraculous second chance!

She's still evil, she's... more>> wicked and arrogant. She's opportunistic. A real villainess. With that in mind, it's understandable if she still have her villainess quality to the bone. People doesn't change that easily, but that's doesn't mean she doesn't have any development. She do change, and those kind-hearted people around her that she called stup*d and easy to use, are now people she cherish.

The way she keep dragging her revenge by giving false hope to those people are actually very understandable and in character of a villainess. As a wicked, petty, evil girl, her grudge are beyond the roof. She doesn't only want them to fall, they want the to feel despair. It's not simply a revenge to feel better and heal oneself over past trauma, but is also part of a personal enjoyment.

She's a villainess. She's evil, she's wicked, arrogant. She is no Saint. And this is a story of that kind of person who got a miraculous second chance after she knows that every move she made was manipulated.

This story sure did a good job telling it. <<less

I don't know, I have mixed feeling about this book. This is one of my very first book, I didn't remember if I read it first or Lucia. This is the first book that after reading, I felt so empty and slightly resent the heroine. In the beginning, all is well. The plot is a typical villainess who died because of her actions, but it turned out the victim that everyone adore was the mastermind behind her downfall. She then took a vow to take revenge and miraculously, she had... more>> a second chance and go back in time to her teens. She also had an hourglass that could turn back time to five minutes before. With the help of the hourglass and her knowledge of future events, she planned her revenge meticulously.

The problem is toward the ending of the book.
Spoiler

After the failed rebellion, the involved party were to be beheaded. But Aria asked for another punishment for the Roscent sibling. Both are stripped off of their nobility, and Mielle became maid and Cain became a lowly government staff. Mielle was still a bit delusional but she dare not to confront Aria.

[collapse]

Spoiler

After some time passed, Cain visited Mielle on Aria's residence and he and Aria had a little talk. He had reflected on his mistakes and he genuinely tried to do better from now on. He felt grateful to Aria for giving him second chance, and just tried to have a simple life as a commoner and take care of his paralyzed father. But Aria actually still not getting enough of her revenge. She manipulated Mielle to poison Annie (she had grudges because Annie was her superior) which ended up in her getting framed of trying to poison Aria. It didn't help that she had previous record of doing that. But instead of Annie, she ended up poisoning her own brother, Cain, to death. After that she finally met her end. And because of Cain's death, the Count also died because of both heartbreak and the unability to provide for himself.

[collapse]

I really have no qualm whatsoever about Mielle's ending, since she was truly evil. But Cain regretted his past action and he really changed for the better. If she's going to wipe off Roscent family, why she gave him false hope?!? And honestly, his only fault is falling for Aria in a romantic way and getting jealous of Asher. In her past life, he might also be manipulated by Mielle, aside for Aria's own s*upidity. And the Count! Sure, he's a jerk to her and prioritizing his own children, but he didn't abuse her and her mother! He even legally married her prostitute mother and made her a Countess! He did provide to them, and in honesty, she's a bit*h in her previous life. She didn't want to study, selfish, and cruel! She just relied on her beauty and be called vulgar by society. Whose fault is that?? Her own fault! True, Mielle also egged her on, but it all came from her own damn action! I hate her for acting to be a victim! Also for her mother! When the Count was down, she scammed him and wiped out his wealth and divorced him! And then she met again with the love of her life, Aria's father, and became respected in society? I want to puke. I usually like cinderella story so much, but not this one.

P.S.:
I previously about to give this book 3 stars, but after ranting the last paragraph of my review, I changed it to 1 star. <<less

Since I was the webtoon reader of this series I expect much from its novel, alas that expectation gone to dust with every chapter I read.

I like how the thing goes at early chapters since the story seems promising, yet every chapter, the urge to skip paragraphs I felt just grew to certain extent, and this mainly caused by :

  • dialogues that seemed forced or scripted, the writing seems repetitive, exaggerating (in a bad way), and cliche,
  • seems like the writer wants to makes our protagonists to look smarter, but it looks to me that the others have little brain to digest even the smallest hints.
  • the climax is pretty much like mostly other isekai/rebirth genre, almost nonexistent. The antagonists just not thoroughly planned their schemes, or fail to have backup plans. At times it just plainly boring to see the antagonist not even realize something so obvious.
  • the writer can give us element of surprise, but just decided to reveal the answer on early chapter.
  • too much pointing on how pretty our FL is, "goddess" "unlike we ever seen" "the rumors have failed to capture how beautiful FL is", we got your point author, just go with the story already.
anymore than this and will just be my endless rants.

this book is a decent read though.

The novel began with purpose, but the ending was lacklustre.

Characters other than the main character and the male lead were often too predictable, watering down the power of the antagonists.

The main character never truly changed. She remains materialistic, using social status to value others' worthiness. As an example, she demeans her teachers and her befriended tutor's social circle because she knows they will have no great achievements in her lifetime. It brings realism to her character and it is understandable that she behaves this way as she needs to gather... more>> notable allies, but it is a rather unappealing trait. She is a true villainess in that regard, a refreshing change as many "villainess" main characters are not true schemers.

The male lead, a downtrodden prince, is rather typical, pursuing the main character for much the same reasons as in other books of this genre. Most female leads in Otome Isekai choose a prince or a duke to elevate them to higher status.

Just because it has much the same story lines as readers of this genre have come to expect does not mean it was not entertaining. The majority of the book was gripping, even if the ending leaves something to be desired. <<less

I decided to read this due to the manhwa adaptation and really liking the plot. However, now that I've reached the end (I refuse to read the extra stories), I only feel unsettled and kind of disgusted. The novel is truly about a villainess, one that's cunning and manipulative. She's unashamed because her drive for revenge is really deep (and yeah, I get that she "died" because of certain people), but I just don't feel satisfied with the plot.

Aria never changed. She's the main protagonist. Good protagonists (not morally good,... more>> but well-developed good) experience character development. The only development I see is near the end, when she understands the meaning of family. Other than that, she holds no regret. She doesn't learn anything from the 200+ chapters. What kind of character journey is that? She continues to seek for revenge, and it's so dragged out that the true revenge she sought fell flat.

One of the biggest things that really bothered me was the fact that aside from very few people, everyone sees Aria as a GOOD person when she's clearly not. She's two-faced, wicked, and evil— but we know that, and Aria for sure knows that. But it's fine because she was killed, traumatized, neglected in the past.

One thing that DID sit well with me is the fact that Aria and Asher ended up together. They're both equally bad, radical, and obsessive. I just don't want them to rule a country when they're so selective on what's good or bad.

In the end, Aria became Mielle. She became someone she hated, and she's not ashamed. I don't like how the author chose to depict Aria as a good person in the end. It's like all that revenge is suddenly now "in the past" and she should move on. Revenge is an iffy topic, but this revenge was not sweet or satisfying— it was raw and narrow-minded. Unbelievable lesson. Although, from a positive aspect, I guess the readers do learn that not everyone is who they seem and humans are both good and evil.

Such a shame because I thought the premise was interesting and amazing. Hopefully the manhwa takes a different route. <<less

I actually like the concept of cunning and smart MC not those innocent types but this stories MC is such a hypocritical bit*h and her first lifes demise is because of her own s*upid self and when given a second chance in life instead of reflecting on her self she instead decides to take revenge even on those who wronged her a little. This novel focuses more than half of it on hell bend revenge so if a pro-active (anti?) protagonist isn't your cup of tea, you might wanna drop it early on, that being said, I'd like to present you the bits I liked;
-pro-active protagonist, she doesn't sit on her hands, biding her time and waste away her second life in a daze
-polished characters, they are being all fully utilized in the story, humanized and not forgotten after being given their own highlights
-character development!! LOTS of character development!
Personally, to me, I can't really say the MC is a villain, given the circumstances she was raised and nurtured in. But that's also what makes MC great, she's no Mary Sue, even with the hacks she's been given, she makes mistakes, she doesn't want to hold expectations and trust in anybody but some a**holes will still let her down and break her heart she thought that was frozen. That makes the MC so much more beautiful to me than she already is, she's just on a whole, well structured character.

Reason for the 4/5 star is that the romance might be a bit lacking. ML is very sweet but I feel like they really failed to convince both MC and audience why he's so much in love with her, the story on a whole focuses about up to 65% purely on face slapping. The plot isn't all too original either, reincarnated MC face slapping her former tormentors on a western monarchy-renaissance based set, got it's distinct flavor, but still, a cliché in web/light novels.
Spoiler

ML mistook MC originally for her own step-sister and even courted the sister anonymously through a third party. On top of that, the way they met wasn't exactly on best terms, at best, I thought he was gonna hunt her down and interrogate her with torture or something, but flirts with her from there on non stop.

He also excluded the possibility that the woman he took a liking to was the MC herself due to rumors. MC was given quite a mental scarring from the social opinion of her to begin with so IDK how they just smoothly overcame that conclusion he had of her (although I suppose one has to consider that she purposely mislead him and that misunderstanding she created was in the end something she herself has forgotten or wasn't even aware of, at least, the moment of realization was never brought up).

He is blindly devoted to her and loves her unconditionally, as lovely as that was, I sure as hell would've loved a small point of view of his as to why or how he fell so hard in love. His dedication to her however, managed to convince MC so she never really considered it as an issue and this was just... tossed/neglected I suppose?

It started off interesting but later on it became just too ridiculous.

This is basically a story of an adult bullying a child, because that child did her wrong.

So FL went back to the past, where she and her step sister is still children but even though FL is in a child's body - she has the mind of an adult - an adult who also knew what's gonna happen. So she was able to make plans on how to ruin the "young" step sister's plan. They made her look smart... more>> - but a smart woman still has to go through all that trouble to bring down a child.

So the entire time it felt like I was watching an adult bullying a child. The author was trying so hard to make the FL look smart and the child villain st*pid - so in order to make the step sister look stpd, they made her look like she was only capable of doing all those things because of the adults who manipulated her - so the villain was actually nothing but a victim of adults - which the "smart" FL only realized later on when she was already grown up (so her mind is now much older than when she died) - but of course we need to make sure the FL look smart and strong - so despite knowing all that, she went on to bully the child even more.

And the FL cannot make mistake as well, she is smart, strong, lucky and ohh can turn back the time each time she make a mistake. So it became boring, the FL cannot really grow from having new mistakes - everything went easy for her so she can bully a child

So, like I said the entire story seems like an adult bullying a child.

It would've been better if she returned to time where both of them were adults and that she can only reverse time once. It is also better if there was a worthy opponent.

She was also a bad person in the past, she even cut her maid's tongue. So Villain may be bad to her but she didn't harm those servants around her but because she must be bullied, then she wasn't even given a chance for redemption while FL was given a chance. It would've been better too, if step sister was given a chance for redemption- after all she was just groomed and a real victim.

It just went from interesting to ridiculous to boring. <<less

The story was ok but I personally didn't find it logical.
Some faults were forcefully justified.

The FL seemed to punish her stepdad, sister and brothers for their deeds in last life. But actually, her stepsister was the one who deserved punishment, not the count and herstepbrother. She seemed to hold a grudge that the count didn't show her fatherly love.
But how illogical was that! She was not
his biological daughter afterall. The fact
that he agreed to take in a prostitute and her daughter ignoring his reputation was commendable. He didn't have to marry the prostitute. He could just buy her and keep her as a maid. Plus her mother even stated that their marriage was contractual, the count only married the female lead mother for her beauty and the female lead mother only married the count for his money. Their is nothing more to the relationship

Again, she held grudge for Cain because heordered her execution.... which was reallyfunny. The FL really did try to poison his sister. If he didn't want the FL dead, it would have been abnormal.

To me... the FL and her prostitute motherwere classical example of snakes. They were nothing but ungrateful people.

The countess seemed to complain that the count treated her like an ornament. Comeon!!! Was she anything else but an ornament?Did she even try to be independent or gain respect. All she did was leech off the count. It was normal you wouldn't be treated with respect.

The author tried hard to justify the FL's
actions and to paint the count family as
villains. But according to me.. if the count's family deserved death, so did the FL and Annie.
