Ye Zhi not only inherited the run-down house, but also the engagement with a man. The man who met his true love disliked his fiancée in all ways and asked for divorce.

In order to express their guilt, the man’s family decided to make up for it with Ye Zhi. But she did not want their ‘compensation’ and simply left without turning her back.

The next second, Ye Zhi was picked up by a Rolls Royce.

Gu Ren, the son of the richest man, had a tough life and couldn’t live past 30 years old. Only Ye Zhi, who was born on the cloudy day of the lunar year, was the most suitable match that could make him survive.

Ye Zhi and Gu Ren got married. Gu Ren gave her a bank card. All she has to do is—

Spend money for him! Squander his fortune!

Ye Zhi bought a Lamborghini for Gu Ren, but he had an accident as soon as he drove the car.

As soon as she bought some Hermes platinum bags for herself, Gu Ren signed a more than one billion worth contract.

It turned out that the money could only be spent on herself. The more she spent, the more prosperous she became.

Since then her life has changed completely. She became a rich woman who owns luxury items, limited edition bags and a villa overlooking the Forbidden City.

The man thought that Ye Zhi, who he had broken up with, must have suffered a lot. Until one day, he saw his former fiancée walking in the street, followed by a striking Lamborghini.

Wait! Who is the man next to her?

This man is a super-rich man—Hundreds of times richer than his own family!

Should be renamed "I dont help the richest man spend money to prevent disasters"

MC is so god damn annoying

She gets taken in by a super rich family who treat her well and they only want her to do ONE thing, spend money on herself

They want her to do this because their son has "karmic" issues and they can be relieved if their family treats MC well

She straight up refuses to spend money on herself even when the nice family suffers when she doesnt

Seriously hated the MC

This is definitely a slow burn romance. Even though they get married right away, there is no romance between them, just a gradual friendship. I’m getting tired of reading about domineering, aggressive ceos (and the FL leads who fall head over heels in love 🙄) so this is a nice change of pace as the ML is a respectful, aloof person. If your looking for nice and light fluff reading then this is it.

Ladies, if your man is white as snow, has deep black eyes and is cold, that is not your man; it's a snowman.

I thought it was "overreaction" when people said that the novel keeps describing the ML's looks. It was not. The translator even said at one point that they skipped some of those moments. I don't know if that was a lie or not, but I got fed up with the exact same portrayal all the time.

Who knows what demon got control of me, for me to start reading... more>> this novel, because boy do I feel like I lost some brain cells. I think my brain started become smoother after I began reading this last year and I still haven't recovered all my wrinkles. When I was reading this, I catched up with the translate and had to wait for rest of the chapters (there was 10 left) and I came today to read them. I can finally with peace let go of this novel. If you're wondering why I then kept reading: The premise seemed interesting and I hoped it would get better. I also have this reluctance to let go of something I've started reading/watching. But after this, I think I'll have to learn to drop things. (And especially ask myself a few times is a novel under 4 stars worth reading)

I could write here about my dislikes, but I think a lot of other reviews (that have given this novel 3 stars or under) have already well put those things out. (I'm starting to get a headache thinking about the s*upid MC) <<less

Fluffy story. Nice to read if you want something light with not much drama.

I love the interactions between MC and ML. They started as stranger before slowly getting familiar with each other.

Overall, it's 9/10 for me.

First of all, I really love the premise, it's refreshing to the already-saturated romance genre. Second, I really ship the ML and the FL as their relationship are bound by marriage and this allows for greater growth for the characters, especially the FL eho see herself not as the ML's equal at the current chapter I'm reading (c145). Third of all, I just love the portrayal of the family members around the ML who accepted the FL right from the get-go (though for a proven-superstitious reason) ; I don't enjoy... more>> the 'bad parents-in-law' trope that much as the drama would be too shallow for my taste. So this novel is a real plus for me. <<less

I’m confused by all the good reviews???

this story was not particularly good, certainly not good enough to call it the best novel of the year. It’s fine if you want to pass time, reading a brainless type of novel, it’s easy to comprehend and not particularly gripping. However, the characters are extremely 2D. The plot is a unique enough idea but was somehow executed in a boring way. Furthermore, Ye Zhi (FL) has an obnoxious reaction to learning she can spend Gu Ren’s money however she likes. She keeps spending... more>> it on Gu Ren, which is counter productive and even ends up harming him. Gu Ren has the typical “take my money. I will back you no matter what.” brainless ML character setting. And Ye Zhi is just a typically Mary Sue. I found myself getting bored by reading and was sometimes cringing and getting second hand embarrassment over Ye Zhi’s actions/overreactions. It’s an okay novel, and I’m not saying not to read it, but this definitely isn’t the novel to look for if you’re expecting a novel with a unique plot line full of depth. <<less

There is no irony in the novel's title. The author really and truly holds the kind of shallow worldview where love is nourished on materialism and social status, and all kinds of unethical behaviour is allowed as long as you are rich enough to justify your self-serving purposes with 'good intentions'. The values and aspirations of this novel shows the ignorance of a not-very-reflective young woman of the lower-middle class, written for the pleasure of people whose headspace is of the same size.

The character whom I consider the biggest villainess... more>> of the book gets sympathetic framing and a happy ending.
Spoiler

Despite her indignation at her young daughter being trafficked, MC's biological mother indulges in a lite version of child trafficking herself, and absolves herself of all responsibility for destroying the life of a little girl with her insincerity and frankly sh*t parenting. The author seems unexpectedly tolerant of people who regard children as purchasable stress toys as long as the child's material needs are exceeded without boundary. Nie Jiqing's careless and deliberate cruelty to the daughter who craves her approval desperately, whom she chose to legally adopt and whom she watched grow up, is WAY ABOVE the level of abandoning your own dog for biting the pedigree kitten outside and then kicking it repeatedly for good measure. Somehow all of this is handwaved as deserved. How, in what way, and to what end is anything like this EVER okay? For this type of monster mother to be lionised as a caring and desirable parent in a book with such heavy-handed moral overtones is worse than pathetic, and reading the paragraphs devoted to this Chinese Umbridge's precious feelings

[collapse]

made me want to vomit right on the author's keyboard.

Compared to that kind of self-centred evil, the designated villainess's kindergarten level malice is just peanuts. I'd read a novel where Sheng Man gets to redo her life
Spoiler

and walk out of her awful parents' and fake parents' shadows -- even better if she could tear them a new as*hole on her way out.

[collapse]
You know a story's not quite up to scratch when people have thoughts like that.

There's even a homily on how valuable it is to heroically fight human trafficking in Chapter 377, when anyone with one brain cell could tell that the MC and ML couldn't give a flying f*ck about it if they weren't pursuing private revenge. Those victims were just rescued in passing to
Spoiler

strengthen their own legal case against the one trafficker who kidnapped MC donkey years ago.

[collapse]
What's there to praise about this? But the author just had to squeeze it to make them look better than they should. Utter poison for the mind.

As for the rest? It's just two Mary McSues getting together in a world made of cheese, where nobody else has a right to human dignity -- or displays human sentience -- because they aren't the richest couple on the planet. The parade of Western brand names are the main characters. The prose is flavourless and repetitive, with MANY plot holes. An AI could churn out a more intellectually responsible novel.

The author is also not above skin-crawling lines like

Spoiler

"Ye Zhi was like an extremely bright rose— she was as compassionate as she was beautiful. However, when the night took over and someone else took the initiative to provoke her, she would spread all her thorns and defend her rights fearlessly." (Chapter 381)

[collapse]

So, eh. Read if you like this sort of thing. What's important is that you know what you'll be spending your attention on before you commit. I've already read far more than I should in order to write this review, and it just keeps getting worse.

The story will satistfy your vanity. Who doesn't want being doted by the handsome, famous and kind richest man's son and his family? Being doted as in getting expensive gift and being told to spend money as much as possible. I mean, everybody want that!

So the premis is already 70% win your interest. And the rest is very well written. The plot and the characters will not let you down. Even the twisted ending will surprised you, when I thought the story end well, the author give us a lil... more>> set back that will make you cry because it's kinda tragic. But then I am glad she give us a real happy ending. <<less

I thought this was going to be a comical novel because of its absurd (and very straightforward) title. It turns out, it's just a pure and fluff-filled light read. I will not be nitpicking the novel because it's meant to be a light read. The MC and ML love each other so much, you can't help but want the same for yourself.

This is the first time I doing a review and just felt the need to do so, so that the translator can update and post the next chapter😂

Kudos to the translator as they did a good job translating this novel.

I like the story so far, I love the interactions between MC and ML but more than anything else, I am in awe with the luxurious items that rich people can spend their money on jist because they can afford it 😂😂

Really recommended this story. This story is cute tho but its pace is slow because their first meeting is for each other benefit. Out MC, the FL, is a sensible woman she what to do and what not to do. Currently, they are still building their means they are just friends not yet romance. But it is nice to see both of them trying hard for each other and know each others like and dislike, strong point and weakness. Its totally up to my taste in novel. Btw thank you... more>> to translator for translating this. Lots of love for you❤️❤️❤️❤️ <<less

Isekai, and like most novels, there is almost nothing about her last life. I think FL was smart when she was reincarnated and made the right choices (one of them was marrying ML). It's a cute and fluffy novel with a slow romance. When the story starts to get a little boring, the author adds a TV show or some dialogue, so I'm satisfied.

I like how the MC and ML gradually get closer to one another instead of falling in love instantly, I also like watching villainess fume every time the MC is proven to be better than her. It's even funnier when she slaps her own face.

Recommended for sure. Good, clean romance that builds a solid relationship based on getting to know and care for one another.

I gave it five stars because I would recommend it to almost anyone. Is it the most fantastic story? No. It's even a bit cliché. But it's not got any major holes or problems either.

I'm curious why there is no one pointed out about how the adopted child become spoiled brat? Rotten even. Reading some Chinese novel where the adopted child or the swap at birth are always funny. Because the one taken care of by the MC biological parents always turns bad but no one in the novel saying to tbeir face "they turn out like that because of your teaching and how you raised them." Imagine if the MC get raised by them?!! They will also turn into spoiled child.

What's more funny... more>> is how their parental feelings disappeared like passing wind when they know who their biological child is. They all blame the adopted child or the swap child every now and then. Somehow I pitied them so much.

Also Nie Jiqing (MC bio mother) character is unnecessary in my opinion... Well I like the ending of the villains though. Not too much like other novels. I just want Sheng Man to get up again from scratch okay.

Well my favorite is always Lin Nuan and Lin Ran. It's more real than the other novel, even though that novel ending is unsatisfactory.

@08phamann

I don't know whether we read the same novel. But there are private jet in the novel. High-end club owned by Gu, which could mean frequently visited by celeb for party. There are also private island, etc etc..

YZ, FL of the novel is a Mary Sue, she is hard working and is dedicated but her biggest cheat the ML is the reason behind her success.

When I was reading the novel, I really liked the first half of the novel and really enjoyed it.

However, when I reached c350... I couldn't read it anymore... I felt too frustrated. I really wanted to drop the novel but I decided to just read the last chapter.

I feel VERY ANNOYED AND ANGRY FOR SM (orig FL). I feel mad at the female... more>> lead's mother NJ.... tbh I think that SM (orig FL) could easily be those main protagonist of a rebirth or transmigrated novel.

I do admit that SM is a really bad, greedy, arrogant and evil person but there are certain reasons why she turned out that way. Throughout the story, you see that SM is always shown as selfish and she wants to be the best and have the best things.

Anyways I am really mad at the mother... The mother made me so mad. Her attitude is SO CRUEL AND HEARTLESS! Because of that mother I did not want to continue reading the story!

Spoiler

The mother felt strange attraction to YZ (FL)... You know those motherly instinct when she saw FL. SM also always had an intuition that YZ is her rival. So throughout the story, you see that SM is always trying to defeat YZ but she always fails.

Context

1. SM hatched an evil plan where she purposely tried to dupe YZ into thinking that she will become the ambassador of the company. Behind the scenes, she had already signed a contract with that brand and just wanted to win against YZ once in front of the media. So in that day when the brand were about to announce who will be the face of their company. SM told YZ the truth and YZ as a smart FL already knew her plan but she still came here. Their conversation was heard by the mother. So she decided to work behind the scenes to change it.

What made me angry at the mother was that this was the starting of her dislike towards SM...

She always thought that SM was a "good" child but when she found out about this dealing, she was so mad. She was very disappointed and even disgusted.

FOR GOD SAKE, YOU RAISED HER! YOU SPOILED HER! YOU MADE HER LIKE THAT! YOU NEVER STOPPED HER WHEN SHE WAS DOING BAD THINGS BUT WHY ARE YOU STOPPING NOW???? WHEN SM WAS BEING ARROGANT AND RUDE TO OTHERS, DID YOU EVER CARED? DID YOU STOP HER? NOW ARE YOU TAKING ACTION because you care about YZ? Is it those so called blood relationship that is forcing you to act?

The mother literally forced SM to apologize to YZ! I know that SM is really bad but imagine apologising to someone you really hate. The problem is not apologizing, it's just the method that the mother used was annoying. The mother subtly told SM that she would stop giving her privileges and revoke her identity as a sheng family's daughter if she doesn't apologize to YZ.

SERIOUSLY??? SM action is really bad but the punishment that the mother gave is too much. Just because SM refused to apologize, you decided to disown her? Did you ever treated her like your daughter? Isn't it already enough that you did the right thing and the new face of company was YZ. The mother could have just scolded SM and lecture her about why she should not do this and told her in another way, but no the mother threatened her just because she felt something for YZ.

Imagine if YZ is not really her daughter, she would have really damaged her relationship with SM.

Anyways this is not the only thing I dislike about the mother!

When the mother found out that SM's Father is the one who sold and abducted YZ. She instantly turned her rage to SM. She did not consider whether SM knew the truth or not! She just wanted them to all suffer. Like what kind of mother does that? Would you all literally blame a child because his father is a criminal? If the child's dad is a criminal. Does it mean that they all are criminal? And SERIOUSLY YOU RAISED HER! DON'T YOU HAVE ANY FEELINGS FOR HER?

Okay so SM is also not a saint, when her dad told her the truth in the recent chapters, she was thinking that the dad did the right thing. She did not feel bad for YZ but in fact felt that it was good that YZ was sold.

For context:

SM's Father is a gambler, he had many debts, so he hatched an evil plan to use his daughter to gain Sheng's family favour. He abducted and sold YZ, then he brainwashed SM to act nice and friendly towards the mother. The mother who was severely depressed decided to adopt SM to replace her YZ. BIG RED FLAG. SM who lived in poverty felt the feeling of being rich and powerful.

The mother way of showing love was spoiling SM with luxuries. The mother heavily spoiled her. SM father also always constantly reminded SM that she was his daughter and if the sheng family found YZ, she would lose all her status.

So when SM was growing up, everyone spoiled her and constantly also told her that if the real daughter comes back, she won't have a place. She grew up thinking like that, so why would she not hate or fear the real daughter?

The main reason why she joined the entertainment industry was to establish her identity as the Sheng's family daughter. She did everything to show that she is the real daughter! She hoped that when the real daughter comes back, the Sheng's family won't abandon her.

Of course if you were SM, do you really want to change your current lifestyle and become poor, she has already tasted luxury, so why would she want to go back to that dreadful lifestyle. Of course she is very greedy and wanted more...

The mother never really gave SM the security. If the mother really treated her well not just financially but also emotionally. I think that SM might have just told the truth and would not constantly be obsessed with the identity as Sheng's family daughter. The main reason why she was so obsessed with the identity is because of money... Not for love...

It's very sad. The mother really annoyed me... SM's dad is already a scum so I expected that from him but the way the mother treated SM is also pretty toxic.

Even in the novel, the mother admits that she treats SM as a replacement. It feels like she is treating SM as a doll. You know like those ppl who lost their child might use baby dolls to console themselves but in this case the doll is alive and it's SM.

The doll knows that she will never be enough or real, so that's why the she is insecure... And that doll, SM was still a young child... When she became the replacement for YZ

I feel pity and sad for SM but I do think that she deserved it because she did do bad things. So it was karma

I just felt very annoyed at the mother. The mother... She really made me annoyed and frustrated. Don't you have any motherly feelings towards the daughter you raised for years?

Other than that I really got annoyed when netizens said SM is a fake daughter??? Fake??? When did adopted become fake???

Not just this, after the whole scandal of SM being adopted daughter came out. SM and YZ happend to be in the airport. SM was carrying an old bag and YZ was carrying a new bag. The netizens compared saying that SM is nothing without Sheng family and said that YZ did everything by herself....

Yeah right YZ did everything by herself...? Without her Big Cheat ML, she could also not afford it... So in this sense it just felt ironic... Although I do believe that YZ earned it more than SM but still if you talking about luxury... Then they going to be disappointed.

[collapse]

Anyways I just don't like the mother. <<less

I quit before I finished, but what I read is further than what is currently translated.

It started out pulpy but fun, but as it went on things started to drag and there were more and more lengthy descriptions about every miniscule change of emotion that could barely be seen in the ML's "cold" eyes. Which is attractive for some reason? And somehow doesn't involve mindreading for other people to notice? I'm unusually tolerant of slower plots and long descriptions, but this one was just that over the top. I do... more>> not want to read a paragraph of bad poetry about the ml's actions every time he thinks or barely does something. It killed the pacing and I lost interest, especially since at that point the only real plot was an off screen investigation into the MC's past being done by side characters. There's also a long portion where the MC becomes anorexic to play a part in a film. This is considered tolerable or even admirable by everyone around her because it "proves" how she "works hard" for the sake of doing the part perfectly. I'm very much not okay with that, let's not glorify eating disorders please. It's bad enough in most entertainment stories, but this one took it to a new level. The characters are okay at first but flatten out pretty quickly. Everyone except the initial characters set up at the beginning have almost no character, and there's no time spent on actually building other relationships besides our main couple. And even that relationship has no heat, it's just them being perfectly in sync everywhere, him trying to slowly get people used to the idea that he likes her and her trying to avoid his efforts of showing any affection at all because someone else might object to it. They don't really interact much more in private, it's just buying gifts for each other, and those gifts don't even say anything about the characters or show any care for each other, it's just bags, clothes and jewelry. The relationship is not worth slogging through the poetic word padding. I'll be avoiding this author in the future. <<less

I think this novel should be above 4.1 so I am rating it 5. Interesting premise, from beginning to 2/3 is pretty good. The ending feels a bit dragged, I think the turning point is

Spoiler

when FL met her biological mother. After that it gets a bit boring as it was pretty much smooth sailing. Even with the life threatening thing, I don't feel super interested anymore as I have read the author's other work that was similar.

FL character also seemed to change. Previously she was as what ML described, but when the ML repeated it again in different world, I find that it didn't really match FL anymore.
[collapse]

ML and FL characters are pretty good. Respectful, hardworking, and care about each other. I like the variety shows in this one, too bad other characters in the show are isolated and don't interact with ML FL outside there. As other reviewer mentioned, the author also keeps repeating how good the physical features of both ML and FL, almost like to complete word count. Somehow it makes it feel more 2D. I can see some resemblance with author's other work (The Former Wife of Invisible Wealthy Man), like some parts of the plot, though I think this novel I am reviewing is more well developed. If you like Spending the Villain's Money to Extend My Life (which I like more than this), you'll probably like the beginning part of this, but mid to end it's not really about the money anymore. Basically, this novel is a good YY novel if you like that type, especially on the beginning part.
