Legit can't read past chapter 25. The story has no tension whatsoever since MC never suffers any setback. The pace of the story is very off, normally a novel would slowly reveal the world it has to offer for you but noooo, author just throws in anything he wants which makes reading this a huge pain.

As for the whole cultivating thing, it makes no f*cking sense. How the f*ck did a spirit realm cultivator, aka MC, manage to subdue some old monster with a bewitching technique? And don't even bring... more>> up the bullsh*t : "her body is too sensitive." Or "that was the first time any man touches her." That's just a bunch of random crap author thought of so he can write bad erotica.

Sometimes I wonder why the author even bothered to think of cultivation levels when MC just gonna speed-run through all of them or straight up ignore them.

And what's up with authors these days? Can't you make up some less bullsh*t reasons for MC to f*ck other than "he was out of his mind, if she didn't do it he would die." Or "she has a weird constitution, if she doesn't have s*x for too long she will die."? Seriously, what the f*ck kind of reason is that? Stop trying to justify having s*x with a twelve years old!

Oh, and did I mention MC is a pe*ophile who f*cked a twelve years old? Not to mention he doesn't care about consequences at all. He does what he wants when he wants. There are many characters like this, but most of them suffer some kind of setback, forcing them to hide and cultivate until they're strong enough. As for this MC, nope, nothing. He just stormed through everything in his path (even if that everything is two large cultivation stages higher than him) or relies on his OP master.

To end this lengthy review, I'm gonna level with you. Despite this novel's high score, don't read it. It's a waste of time. Questionable cultivation, off-setting pace and lucky pe*ophile MC. Just don't. Seriously, go read something else, even Emperor Domination is better than this sh*t and I f*cking despise Emperor Domination, I think that's enough to say something about Garsping Evil.

Overall, read at your own risk. If you don't have any problem with self-righteous MC, bullsh*t cultivation system that makes no sense, r*pe, pe*ophile and heavenly treasures keep on falling into MC's hands then Garsping Evil is for you.

Edit : Saw a review down there that says this story has a 'solid plot' and have to write this. That's f*cking bullshit, this story frankly has no plot whatsoever. It feels like the author writes whatever comes to his head which results in, as stated above, very off-setting pace and all over the place plot.

Oh yeah, and the whole "he is evil" "he is not a hypocrite" thingy that so many reviews below mentioned, yeah that's bullsh*t too. The MC's personality feels very half-assed, it's like the author couldn't decide what to go with so he just throws it all in. Also, MC makes a 180 turn around the first day he got sold (I call bullshit), his personality changes so frequently that you can't understand which is supposed to be the real him and lastly, despite hating evil cultivator for raping him, he himself commits the same f*cking act so the agrument is invalid.

It's like : "the world f*cked me so now that I have power, I'm gonna f*ck the world back" kind of thing... yeah srsl, f*ck this novel.

Edit : MC is plain dumb <<less

Put nicely, This novel is not deserving of it's 70+ five point score. I am not even complaining about the pedo garbage, that's what you get from a s*x centric novel. I thought that this novel actually would do something different and try to focus on story. You kind of get that impression when you read the opening chapters. It's so much more disappointing then to continue reading if you get that impression.

In the beginning chapters, the character is basically bait-and-switched for the ultimate gary stu character possible. A one-shot... more>> kill technique, unrivalled skills in cultivation, crafts, and even dancing. He's not the same character before and after, but the author pretends they're the same even though the earlier character is gone. The entire novel is trivialized, and the only thing left is for the MC to walk around and pick up harem members. Anyone who rates this novel highly is the kind of person who is impressed by the lyrics to gucci gang. <<less

According to earlier reviews story gets better after 200 chapter, I tried a lot reading past 100ch but ended up dropping. Story swings between random things, MC is evil at one moment and acts like righteous moron other time, he is portrayed as overpowered and next moment he is scared and running for his life. His master who recovered his power after long time ends up close dying very next moment with in few sentences.

Even with above mentioned points I was not gonna drop the story, biggest turn off for... more>> me was harem and his interaction with girls, with in first 70 chapter he has 6-7 harem members, another 15 girls to increase his power. Supposedly very powerful women end up with MC for s*upid reasons, (like girl who was fighting with void fragmentation guy one moment ends up with MC very next moment literally with in two paragraph cause of vague explainaton likesealed power) it seems very forced.

MC picks up girls right and left, and gets confused how should he treat them afterwards, sometimes he captures girls who came to kill him then becomes indecisive what to do.

Overall very forced story and kind of indecive MC with random things happening out of no where. Supposedly story gets better later but if you are not big on harem then there is high chance you won't move past first 100 chapters <<less

This is a story about a cultivator of the evil dao. At the same time, his master of this path says lines about allowing young love and taking care of the women you have 'relations' with. Which means that this dao doesn't need you to be comically, mindlessly evil to every single person, and just to the people you feel like being evil to (with the added caveat of 'fail me and I kill you' as a rather high bar for disciples to live up to).

So honestly, this is... more>> the same as the other cultivation novels around here, but it has that key honesty that makes it endearing. So, when the protagonist later probably goes around destroying sects and taking women as his own... you don't feel like he is a hypocrite. He is firmly with team evil. Take what you want, and kill everyone that you feel like killing. No need to worry about honor and that junk. This is about gaining power and using it.

The protagonist has lines he would rather not cross, and can feel that he should repay and care for certain others (his lost brother, the love interest)... but past those friendly relations, this work does not appear to hold any pretension of morals that is later betrayed by the protagonist's acts. And that is refreshing, since any mass mu*der he does is going to be completely in character with the stated moral code. <<less

It feels like this LN was partially inspired by mu*dering Heaven Edge, unfortunately it's too inconsistent with the alignment of evil/good, the story and the characters.

There's no focus and the author doesn't really seem to know where he wants to go with it, as everything is all over the place and the author is already stalling for time with what I can only describe as small fillers.

This novel is such a gem that I couldn't stop reading it. Everything is well executed not your typical xianxia/young master cliche. He shapes his own personality and doesn't wish to be in control of anyone, he fight for his opportunities to progress his cultivation. Novel has name evil but your MC is pretty rational and calculating and cares about his people. He has many women around him but only few are the one's he truly care/love others are his cultivation cauldrons, this big harem thing was stopping me from... more>> reading it but when I read it I couldn't stop stop myself from how well the story is executed. <<less

Treat this review as if I gave it 2.5 stars. While it has major issues, I for some reason am still reading it...

I feel like this could have been ranked 4 stars if it was not for several issues. The amount of luck the MC has is over the top even when compared to other xianxia stories. He keeps on stumbling across over the top treasures and inheritances at too great a rate. And thanks to that can ignore cultivation ranks and act as if he is several realms higher.... more>> We are talking about him defeating gold core experts (major realm 3) while still in qi condensation (major realm 1). And surviving (heavily injured) trading 2 blows with someone 2 or 3 major realms above gold core if he uses up a (very rare) consumable (good thing he keeps on stumbling on rare treasures and has a steady supply of heavenly consumables). Also MC personality seems inconsistent, shifting his level of ruthlessness wildly.

MC also has the informed trait of being "evil" and by that the author means "kind, loving, gentle, friendly, and helpful to allies and subordinates (anyone in the city he owns really) and even temporary allies of convenience! but will ruthlessly kill his enemies and even their whole clan, except when he takes a few as s*aves and ends up feeling merciful towards them later on; also occasionally robs unaffiliated of some tribute but not all they own and without really harming them". Basically, he is nicer than 99% of the alleged non evil xianxia protagonists

s*xual cultivation is taken to its logical conclusion, with many many sects kidnapping both men and women and then sexually devouring their life-force, killing them and gaining some power. MC got an inheritance of a mutually beneficial s*xual cultivation technique that benefits both sides and is even superior to consuming the other side...

Except by ch 40ish MC suddenly decides to not use it because he doesn't have the heart to "pluck" the cultivation of his waifus or even his female enemies which he mind controlled into being his devoted "cauldrons" (people whom he plans to yin-yang cultivate with; except he doesn't). Thus deciding to dedicate himself to acquiring pills and rare consumables.

What plucking? MC has the immortal emperor tier cheat technique that is a mutually beneficial technique that gives superior results to plucking to both participants! he won't be plucking their cultivation! the author just realized he screwed up by having it too easy for the MC to cultivate and wants him to fight for resources instead of locking himself in his harem chambers forever (he effectively got adopted by a cultivator king, so could easily spend hundreds of years in seclusion doing mutually beneficial s*x cultivation).

So he uses the above self contradicting excuse to have the MC start going after resources and ignoring the core cheat he has. It might just be that the author plain forgot what cheat he gave the MC, because about every 5 chapters he stumbles across a new inheritance and gets a new cheat which he will proceed to under utilize.

Also, be warned that there is explicit s*x in this story. and loli (just the one, 12 year old MC had his life saved by 11 year old girl so he married her). That all said, it is not all bad (if it was I would have given it 1 star). Some parts are genuinely enjoyable, but they are brought down by all the issues. <<less

Couldn't reach the 100 chaps so maybe it's a bitter then sweet kind of novel. But, I'm already puking so i'll pass on the potential sweet.

A very inconsistent, wish fulfilling, waste of time. It is a rushed overview of what such a novel could be. First of all the MC position is vague, weak yet somewhat strong, young yet experienced, one-two chapters righteous then fully evil, it's all over the place. And no, the emperor memories are not a reason! Knowledge, experience, composure, imposing manner are not the same, and... more>> one doesn't necessarily imply the other. The pace of the story is too fast and makes things feel way too forceful when they happen. Severe lack of building work and explaining. Basically the MC goes from checkpoint to checkpoint with barely any process in between. And this is after having read many cultivation novels and being familiar with the content and concepts. I don't even imagine the pain of picking this as one's first read.

Well, this clearly felt like a first try at writing, like a nice cover book on the shelf with only blank pages inside, a pearl necklace without the necklace. <<less

From were did all those 5 stars come from? This novel is almost garbage. I’ve read over 700 novels (wuxia, xianxia, etc) and this novel is easily in My Worst 10 Novels.

Mc: The other reviews says that he is evil and blablabla he acts as he wishes. Really? Do you even know what a evil cultivator is? Go read Reverend Insanity, a real novel with a real Evil MC. He has no personality, in the beginning he always says that he will do anything to raise his power and he... more>> gets like 100 chances to do it. What does he do? He finds a trillion reasons to not do it.

About the other characters: nothing much to say, Void Fragmentation Beings acting like a 10 y old kid who is angry at fortnite, the only being who makes sense, barely, is the mc’s master. Oh, actually no. There was a chance for this novel to become 5/10 if the ffff author let the master regain his cultivation, but no! A fff Void F. Appeared from idk where and blablabla bullshit!

I can give 20 reasons to not read this novel and only 1 for reading it (there are no young masters, yet, who are like: i’m from bullsh*t place, kneel before me).

20 to 1, you decide.

I was excited when I read the reviews about this novel, but after reading the novel itself.. Brain damage + 10. <<less

Typical roller coaster when author can't decide whether to make the protagonist decisive or wimpy, merciless or kind, overpowered or weak. He constantly swings between two extremes. First he gives MC supposedly overpowered inheritance and then it turns out it is simply incomplete garbage that makes MC barely keep up with his enemies only thanks to constant stream of treasures falling into his hands. It is mediocre novel at best. Okay world building, but sh*t plot progression.

MC has good means to increase his cultivation and help his women to increase... more>> their cultivation but it is almost never used. Could have avoided o lot of sh*t drama if he simply used his head to think. Hell, even if he were thinking with his d*ck alone it would be much better than current shithead MC. <<less

❗Edit: Finallyyyyyy! It's back. The author is writing again! After 3-4 years of haitus! I'm so glad. This is the only novel I check on regularly waiting for it to come back because it's that good!

((Original review b4 the edit))

Since the recent reviews have been atrocious. I just wanted to drop my two cents so that new readers won't be put off by what some unenlightened dweeps have written.

... more>> Just go read the story. Immediately!

This is one of those stories that make you experience things while reading. It's so well written that it astounds me how the author hasn't turned it into a proper novel. It's really that good.

All the characters in this story have their own place to fill. While not all, but many characters have been unique and memorable. The first main villain was built up a bit more than necessary which made his end a little too underwhelming for my taste but that's only the first villain. Besides, nobody likes c*ckroach villains that weasel their way in the background the whole story despite being weak little shits anyway. Also, the story went on to do bigger and better things past that point. Many mysteries and villains to overcome and more interesting plots to go through.

It's unfortunate that the author went on hiatus early during the Covid period and remained so for the past couple of years but it seems he's about to be back soon!! I am stocked to see him back and hope he will continue writing this story to its conclusion. Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

In summary, the story has a lot of depth and a flavor like no other and you should do yourself a favor by giving it a read.

This is not a full review as I will definitely write a full review after the story is concluded. However, the rubbish recent reviews I've read every time I came here to check if the author is back irked me quite a bit. So this is more like a plea from me to you to not listen to idiots with the attention span of less than 20 chapters. Read this story and enjoy the journey as I did and know you would. Simple as that. <<less

First and foremost this novel is great but not the best. Its probably only me since I didn't really understand the world building that's why I reduced a star.

I liked MC's character since he knows how is action will affect the whole situation and how decisive he is when he needs to kill people who might be a threat to him in the future. I also like the harem and how MC just takes every women which is his enemy and turns them into his dual caludran.

Overall the novel is... more>> enjoyable and interesting. <<less

minus 1 star: He really likes being late to battles. After all his alies are being bullied to death, thats the exact time he shows up, not before and not after that. The problem is, he is always just "meditating sideways"/"knows thats he is late", almost as he waits to be at the spotlight (and save everyone). After the ~5th time, its hard to swallow.

Hands down one of the best MCs you can find in a fantasy novel. Smart, calm, collected, not lazy, not a coward, not a pe*verted piece of crap and best of all, ruthless af.

However, this novel is like a feminist's worst nightmare. The girls in this novel have no character whatsoever and are just mere objects to serve as cultivation boosters for pe*verted bastards. I get that it's the whole premise of the so called 'devil' cultivators but still..

The pacing of the novel is utterly bonkers. It's like a supermassive tornado blew in and dropped plot after plot on you. It's pretty much to hell with slow and steady plot development.

A MC with cheat powers, countless lucky encounters, loads of maidens who've never touched a man in their entire life, making enemies every step of the way.. Pretty much a generic cultivation novel really. Nothing too great, nothing too bad.

Spoiler

However one aspect of this novel that blows other novels out of the park is the sheer level of powers of the archenemies that MC faces. Usual cultivation novels start out with small time son or relatives of a sect elder and the power of enemies increasing progressively, but this novel starts out with the first bona fide archenemy of the MC being an existence that's stronger than even the strongest being in MC's entire world. While how MC gains powers and gets rid of small time enemies along the way is just like any generic cultivation novel, the fact that the author went ahead and introduced such a powerful enemy from the beginning, is kind of intriguing.

This felt quite poor. The author goes no-holds-barred and introduces one god-slaying item after the other, without any attempts at "balancing" the story, random super characters come and help the MC for no reason, random techniques slay random enemies, all without giving any sense of advancing the story.

The only reason to actually read this novel is for the "evil" part, that is, if you equate sex=evil. I was expecting the evil sects to be truly depraved (as the first few chapters make out), but then it is only about having... more>> s*x and having s*x and having s*x. How is this evil in any form? At least go and kill some innocent mortals if you claim to be "evil". Very disappointing, but at least the author tried. 2*. <<less

Update: I am currently on chapter 443 and the novel slowly going down hill. The MC is suppose to be a anti hero but now he's just down right turning evil. My issue with this is that he gains power because he was bully when he was weak but now that he's strong he's doing the exact same thing to other that was done to him because they're weaker than him. Shouldn't this effect his Dao heart or w.e. He actually becoming those dumb evil villain you see in novel... more>> who demands thing cause they're stronger than the other force but it works out for him cause he's the MC.

Old: This novel is very well written with it anti hero. Most of the plot has a reason and there might be plot armor but nothing that would ruin the story for me. The harem story line is pretty decent to and not over board like in some story.

Now do I recommend the story to other. I would have to say no and it's not because of the story it self but how slow the translation is. Each week only 1 chapter is being translated. The chapter is quite long so it's diveded into 2 part and counted as a chapter for each part. There so far 1200+ chapter and going by how slow its being translated its going to decades to even catch up to the raw right now. Unless you know Chinese it's not worth it to start the novel. <<less

This story is pretty bad. Personalityless MC gets treasure and becomes op over night. Wish fulfillment follows as he is powerful and has pretty women. That's about the entire story. The writing is bad, the plot is shallow. I guess the secret to 5/5 reviews on this website is to have a mildy edgy MC.

This novel was solidly meh for me, despite having all the tags that would usually attract me to a novel. Read this during a very stressful and busy day, perfectly solved by spending hours reading this novel.

For me, this was pretty bland, maybe I just had much different expectations/standards than some of the other raving reviews. I expected a harem, but until around 70 chapters MC is basically romancing 1 girl, and she's literally 13. Some reviewers say this is a hot and steamy novel, but the s** are basically... more>> just 1-2 sentences? He ens*aves some people but barely 1 sentence is written about him "cultivating" with them. The MC is not great with girls, his master who was originally pretty strong and manages to get OP literally 1 second later becomes almost dead. So many really anti-climatic, really unsatisfying moments. MC is pretty weak and somehow keeps having to fight really OP end-game people, which seems really idealistic and gives some unnecessary levels of stress. Saw a spoiler about MC having good friends, but none of them have appeared so far, so MC is just a loner with some really personality-less girls who we barely see him interacting with. Where is the steaminess?? Where is the harem??

Okay so I might just not be there yet for the much-desired harem and romance. Not much is translated, and to get there I would probably have to spend a long time reading through a bunch of philosophical arguments about Dao and a bunch of really disadvantaged fights where he barely survives and then maybe I will manage to get to some harem members with possibly 1-sentence s** scenes. I also have nothing against the villainous lead, some of my fave MCs are pretty evil and shameless, but I would appreciate it if he had more personality? Maybe a sense of humor? Maybe if the members of the sect were actually evil instead of making me confused with evil and righteous sects? The MC is claimed to be a genius, but I don't really see anything about him being smart and clever besides consulting the inheritance knowledge from the Immortal Emperor. Dropped. <<less

The glory of the 'Demonic Dao' resides within this one. First of all, it simply has to be mentioned that this story doesn't exactly follow the linear traditional path of development, and growth. Such predictable routes of evolution are only for the 'Righteous Dao' after all.

This story Just feels untainted, not yet tainted by pressures of economical success. To elaborate this author has clearly written this story, because he enjoys the creativity the Muse has gifted upon him. Which means that unlike most authors, he simply doesn't write according... more>> to the 'success formula'. This story feels like as if it has been written by someone engrossed within the story, a participant, rather than an observer to the vibrant world created.

Less philosophies now. The protagonist is utterly human, prone to the seven sins, fallible, and experiences both fortune and misfortune. Sounds very familiar? Of course it should, it's the description of the average human being. Not a saint, not a martyr, not a devil, but simply a living, breathing being going through life. Whilst life itself decides to continuously inflict trials, after trails.

A vibrant universe, accentuated by the uniqueness of the Dao that is cultivated. Recommended read. <<less
