Song Yuan accidentally picked up a 5-year-old child.

The child has bright eyes, chiseled features, and prideful demeanor. He referred to himself as “this prince” and his mannerism was wild, cool, and stuck up.

“This prince will never eat such lowly food!”

“How dare you flirt with other men behind the back of my imperial father?”

“He insulted this prince and you sided with him? This prince will sentence his entire clan to death!”

Song Yuan was very disturbed. The DNA test had confirmed that the child was, indeed, her son, but why did he act like he was delusional?

More importantly, who was the father of the child?

The prince was going mad from worrying; Imperial Father, if you don’t come soon, Imperial Mother is really going to cheat on you!

Tis is a very good novel. I have never seen a novel with this plot in which the transmigration is to modern times, II is refreshing. The novel is well written and translated. It has a funny, fluffy and deep plot so it gets you entertained until the end. Highly recommended.

I'd say that this is one of the most realistic transmigration that I have read. The difference between their (RH and SY) personalities, beliefs and perspective is on point. I like the character development of RH and the consistency of Rong ting. This is great, though many readers hate the ML and I understand them, because no one is willing to compromise and if there is wouldn't the world not what it is now?

Contrary to a lot of other reviewers, I actually don't like the FL. Well, I don't like the ML either. Only the child is acceptable.

To me, the FL was too idealistic and imposed her own ideals on the one she loved. She wanted others to conform to her beliefs, but she herself couldn't meet them halfway. She simply just didn't trust ML enough nor tried to work on the roots of their problems. She was too absorbed in her own misery without looking at other people. It wasn't until the... more>> modern times that she acknowledged it but then that part was glossed over by the author and given only a line or two. So, to me, it didn't feel like real growth. Then again she's the FL, so this is her halo.

In any case, the ML did deceive her and she is written as an ordinary person who doesn't have the heart nor mind for anything else other than her life. She doesn't want to think about the country or whatever, and even in the modern times, she also didn't have the pressure to take over family business or something and even her social life was smooth. She really was written as carefree & ordinary as it gets and that's why I don't like this FL.

She lived her life under the privilege of having everyone around her provide cushion for her even at work. She's not spoiled and she's a good person, but how can someone like this know what it's like for others who don't even have a tenth of what she has? And so, it's normal for her to be unable to take into account other people's circumstances. Even the circumstances of her almost boyfriend had to be explained to her by someone else lol

I just don't like how the author made her out into this kind of person even though there was so much potential for character development. I just did not see the effort.

The ML, on the other hand, was too prideful and deceitful. He did regret it all in the end and tried to change but there's still a lot of iffy things. I did like the part about how he said he didn't want grovel for love because he wanted to stand by her side, not kneel. I also like how he was able to let the FL go and return back to the other world. I feel like the author paid more attention to his character development than the FL's.

And I think it would've been alright to end the story when the ML went back. To me, this isn't a relationship that needed a happy ending. Just proper closure. The part after that just seemed like a cop out.

The child is 100% the best character here. He was funny, heartwarming, serious, loving, etc etc. He wasn't as cringe as some of the children in some webnovels I've read. Other authors tend to project their fantasies about children and write child characters that are mere caricatures of what children are like. Rong Ting here felt like an actual child, a real human being finding his way through the worlds, adapting, and forming his own beliefs. Both the ML and FL were also good to him, even though they weren't good for each other lol and as for ML passing the throne to him early, that's understandable since RT is different from other children and shouldn't be treated otherwise. He was capable, ambitious, outstanding, and the ML also gave him all the help he could give. Considering RT's circumstances, the ML leaving him early really wasn't criminal. <<less

The characterization really affects the overall reading experience. I'm going to drop this novel mainly because I don't like it when the MC is being repeatedly harmed/hurt. In this case, she is not yet harmed/hurt but she will soon be.

She stated that she does not like deception. Her words and action, be it in the ancient life or in the modern life, both show that she values honesty. However, our hateful ML just keeps on deceiving her in both lives and manipulates her. It does not help that the little... more>> prince (her son) is not cute at all. I know others may disagree, but he's not the type of kid that you can call little treasure or bun. The way MC and son gets along is more of an elder sister-younger brother type than a mother-son.

Overall, the edited mtl by Piper's Pickups is good and easy to read. There's a plot build-up and MC looks like a likeable heroine. I just can't bring myself to enjoy this because of the characters. <<less

More of a 4.2 but I want to be nice. I like the idea of it and the writing is good, I just feel uncomfy bc it seems the same energy as the rebirth stories where MC goes back to a ML that treated her like tr*sh in a previous life. ML also seems very manipulative, which is a common trope in these novels but he manipulates the MC which is uncool. Other than that the MC is understandably confused, but not totally naive to people and their intentions. I... more>> like the family dynamics in the story, and the Crown Prince is cute and funny. I just read the spoilers of other reviewers I think I'm gonna stop here it might be too bittersweet for me. <<less

First novel I've MTLed because I can't stand waiting. Easy to read but understood about 70% of it 😅 Gosh! I'm oddly satisfied with the ending ofc was rushed and wanted more

Can't help but cry but yes, there was not much drama and angst. The little boy, Rong Ting is just so adorable! Also, you have to read past his intelligence and attitude (really not what a 5y/o is). But he's just so precious!

Little romance between the FL and ML (no giddy moments 😥) ... more>>
Spoiler

It's actually a more mature love where the FL was heartbroken by the past actions of the ML and a very sloooow reconciliation. So slow they only reconciled at the end! Gah!

..

It's more of a story of the mother-son relationship. It's really well-written and I'm oddly attached to it. Highly recommended! <<less
