His filming opportunities were taken by others; his boyfriend cheated on him; he gave up a rich, tall handsome fiance and devoted himself to a scumbag. In the end, he was beaten to death by the scumbag. Yan Qing Chi felt that although this danmei cannon fodder supporting male that he transmigrated into was troublesome, it was kind of tragic that he died like this through his own actions.

So, the first thing that Yan Qing Chi did after taking over this body was to catch them in the act and beat up the scumbag! The second thing that he did, was to agree to the marriage proposal from the aristocratic fiance.

However, Yan Qing Chi stared down at his big belly. Who can tell him what the heck this was?! Don’t tell him that he transmigrated into a mpreg novel???

Standing on the side, the tall, rich, and handsome Film Emperor Jiang asked carefully, “Babe, do you want a boy or a girl?”

Yan Qing Chi: Do I want a WHAT?!

It's a nice read, but it's unnecessary too long and some of plots felt forced, specially the mpreg. It's actually going well at first but then some scenes and plot came in that feels like just fillers. It's forced, and doesn't make any sense for me. Like why do have to make unnecessary longer when it's more better for it to be shorter? The antagonists/villains are idiots, and have no dimension. Most of them are copy paste of each other. I'm getting bored just reading the face slaping scenes.

The protagonist... more>> also felt like a jack sue character, he can do anything so the author have to nerf him. The results is the MC can't sing = meaning he can't sing well. They didn't go into detail just said MC is not good at singing.

Overall, it's a good novel to pass time. <<less

  • chtrs: 7/10 (-1 cos of the random mpreg right outta nowhere??, -2 cos of not lettin the MC develop on his own)
  • comments: like right when MC progressin in his career suddenly he preggy??? LIKE HUH put me off so bad literally I mean qiqi is cute but why need anotha one plus it felt a bit rushed since MC has a strong nd independent personality seems like the author did this to so called shackle him down before he becomes a bright eagle flyin arnd in the sky flappin its wing makin everyones jaw drop anyways~ the main point is felt that the progress was tooooo fast nd slow at the same time
  • ill be continuing cos its long anyways
  • MC = independent, cunning, smart, trained to be heir in old wrld (now u know why the author go make him preggy *pissed off emoji*)
  • overall he is so badass I loved his chtr and I genuinely only sticked to the story for dat long for him and qiqi
  • ML = talented movie star, responsible, soft?
  • well he is the henpecked husband kind anyways he is very responsible and did his duties well and took the marriage seriously which IS NOT A BAD THING but LISTEN I felt that something was missing like its wayy too smooth like I get he is the OG ML last time also but like even the OG MC shou faced so many losses but this ML nvr? A bit uhh anyways yes it kinda was annoying

Let me just say this. This is the first novel I have read by the author; thus, I am more biased toward Qing Chi as the MC. Now for the things, I like about this.

  1. The relationship between Qing Chi and Jiang Mochen was realistic enough. There was no unexplained blossoming of feelings. Everything was explained realistically sufficiently for the reader to actually understand that these two fell in love gradually at a very proper pacing.
  2. I like how calm and collected Qing Chi is about everything. He is the type of MC I love to read the most. Clear-headed, not panicky, and definitely not a damsel (swain, in his case) in distress. He can carry himself well, as well as act accordingly depending on his situation. With this, I applaud how the author explained how Qing Chi got his temperament as well as the little talents he has shown in the novel.
  3. I like how Jiang Mochen was actually not a scum even from the start. The way he treated Qing Chi as well as the way he defended him from his friends and OGMC was very mature. From the start, he treated Qing Chi with the respect a partner should show toward his other half.
  4. I love the interaction between Qiqi and Qing Chi. It was good to see how well they treated each other and that Qing Chi almost always ask for Qiqi's opinion even during the pregnancy. What other people don't seem to get is that the number one fear of adopted children is that the adopted parents would have their own child and would not treat them the same way, or worst, send them back to the orphanage.
  5. For those saying that the treatment of the two children was not the same and that Qing Chi and Jiang Mochen preferred Qiqi, sorry but I never saw this in the novel. I mean, they left Yanyan at home during the trip because he was a baby. Do you guys know how stressful that is for a baby to be on a trip, let alone with only one adult to take care of two children? It's not called bias, it's called being responsible enough to know what is good for the children. On this note, I give the author kudos. I am not a fan of parents bringing their baby out and about especially if it was a newborn infant. At least let the baby grow up to be more than a year old before bringing your children out on long trips. It's stressful for the children as they can get overstimulated, stressful for the parents as they won't enjoy the trip, and stressful for anyone like me looking at them being stressed.
  6. I may not have read the extra chapters yet but I already like the conclusion of the main story. There was no open ending that requires me to stimulate my imagination and mind by asking questions such as what happened to this and that? The main reason I read is to relax, not ask unanswerable questions because the conclusion was open-ended.
As such, I highly recommend this novel. Below is a list of novels under the same author, 1 being my favorite as well as the most recommended one. I will update once I have read through the author's list.

  1. Transmigrated into the Film Emperor’s Death-Seeking Fiance
  2. I am the Father of the Villain
  3. The Supporting Male Character Just Wants to Be a Tool Man
  4. The Film Emperor Asks for Divorce Every Day

The ML sucks. He's kind of halfway between being scum and an ok guy like he's not the worst but he also isn't a good ML at all. He's disrespectful, untrusting, untrustworthy and spoilt. He and MC worked out because MC is mature and calm so ML's better traits were presumably brought out in the end. But his initial attitude towards MC as well as towards his own child is pretty scummy in my opinion.

Why's ML scummy:

1. He distrusts and disrespects MC when he himself is untrustworthy -> yes he's... more>> seen MC's personal history before which was messy but seeing as how he's the one that wanted to get married to MC, shouldn't he at least give him the benefit of the doubt? At least treat him with respect and see if it works out rather than actively guard against and distrust the person he married. I mean yes I'm not expecting ML to like trust MC with his life or treat him like a loved one immediately, but at least some basic respect and courtesy would be great.

Spoiler

like ML is the one who wanted to settle down because he wants to have a family and divert his attention away from white lotus YMX. And it's clear that when he brought up marriage, he meant it seriously in that it's for the long term and he wants to settle down even if he's not emotionally involved with MC at that point and he doesn't see them being emotionally involved ever in the future. But clearly it's not like a fake marriage for 2 years nor are they FWB/ sugar daddy situation, so why on earth does he come into the marriage without any basic trust or respect with his partner? If he really couldn't get over MC's personal history, he should've chosen someone else instead of getting a marriage certificate with someone you despise.

ML rudely told MC that he wouldn't ever fall for him and then told MC not to like him either. But was it necessary to say it in a mocking tone? Like he could've just said it calmly. Why did he have to be so hostile about it? MC wasn't the one who proposed the marriage in the first place.

when MC was simply interacting with ML and Qiqi well and ML's impression of MC was changing for the better, ML was wondering what he's scheming for. But again, why must ML assume the worst of MC?

When qiqi and MC were interacting well and ML didn't understand, he questioned MC about it and then didn't even say thank you afterwards for MC's advice even though he agreed with what MC said.

when MC and su nuan practiced together and when ML found them, he asked su nuan if MC bullied her. I can't remember if he saw them when they were actually practicing or when they were finished but why would he just one sidedly accuse MC of that when su nuan hadn't even said anything and ML himself didn't even see MC doing anything wrong.

ML purposely omitted the fact that he was meeting YMX to MC. I gave up at this part of the book because I was so incensed about the way he handled the whole situation. Like firstly he didn't tell MC about YMX nor did he tell MC he was meeting him. Afterwards, when MC found out about it but ML didn't know MC found out, ML heard MC saying that they would get divorced if either of them had an extramarital affair since neither of them had feelings for the other and he got angry with MC. But again, MC didn't even say anything wrong, ML's the one that said they wouldn't fall for each other and MC made it clear previously that if either of them cheated, they would get a divorce. Also, he had just returned from a SECRET meeting with a PREVIOUS crush so what right does ML have to be angry about MC basically just stating facts and ML himself just having wronged MC?? After this, when ML found out MC was aware of ML's meeting with YMX, he DIDNT EVEN PROPERLY APOLOGIZE? Like he texted MC and asked if he was going to ML's room and asked if he's angry. After that, he tried to convince MC to come to his room to talk. But again, ML is the one in the wrong, what's so difficult about him walking to MC's room to apologize and explain??? He even expected MC to just come to him??? Like, the VERY LEAST ML could've done was to show a GENUINE APOLOGETIC ATTITUDE. Like yeah he walked to MC's room in the end and they had a calm attitude in the conversation but ML seemed to put way more blame on YMX exposing the situation rather than himself hiding it from MC.
finally, he also admitted to MC that if MC hadn't found out about ML's meeting with YMX, he would never have informed MC about ML and YMX's situation. That's both disrespectful and dishonest. Because YMX is in the same industry, YMX knows ML's friends and presumably, YMX will meet MC in the future. Doesn't MC as ML's husband have a right to be aware of YMX and how ML used to feel about him??
[collapse]

2. ML is also super spoilt and he's a lazy incompetent father. Until MC came along, he had a distant relationship with the child that he himself adopted. It's repeated numerous times that even though ML adopted qiqi, he didn't spend much time with him because of work and he also didn't really understand qiqi because of his 'impatience'. That's just a crappy dumb lazy excuse. Even if qiqi is quiet and ML himself is unfamiliar with how to handle children, can he not research it himself? Can he not ask his mother or father for advice? Can he not go online or buy a book about parenting? And since he's so busy, can't he at least put in EFFORT in the SMALL amount of time that he spends with his child? Why adopt a child if he can't be bothered to find out how to raise him? MC is wonderful. Super mature calm, capable and caring. But ML just isn't a particularly decent human being. Getting married on a whim because he's rejected, treating that marriage and his partner like a joke, neglecting a child. I mean, he's not the worst, and ML gets better but that's because MC shows how great he is. ML just lucked out that MC transmigrated over and they got married. <<less

THOUGH I'LL PROBABLY FAIL HAHAHAHA

This is too wholesome omygeeee. It's really refreshing and funny to reaaaad I don't know whyyyyyy. The whole plot just screams " IM PLUFFY!!", I love the MC who wasn't overly emotional and the ML who's just so goddamn fine. This two is not those overly depressing couple nor overly emotional couple, at least for now I guess, that's why I love theeeem. Some says it has plot holes but really I might be dumb... more>> because I just don't see it, rather, I don't really caaare. This is awesooooome. <<less

So far so good.

Tho their relationship happened abruptly, it was fit to both of their personalities.

They were very realistic in their views on life and relationship.

I'd probably give this a 4 but I like the MC so much I think it could be a 5!

It's a really enjoyable read: there's a mix of career (acting, filming for reality shows, etc) and family/romance, which I liked. It doesn't seem to blend together, which is fine, but it might be a bit awkward to switch between reading about his career and family/romance (not that it switches often).

I like the MC. He's very refreshing to me: very logical, confident, able to hold his ground, teases the ML, capable,... more>> etc. He's great. The ML is good too; I loved the banter between the two, and I really enjoyed seeing their romance develop.

There were some things that seemed kind of off, but they overall didn't seem too important. Like some other reviews, the way the couple seems to favor Qiqi (adopted child) is kind of odd. I get that they were trying to say that will still love Qiqi even if they had a second child, but it almost seems over the top. I think it would've been better had there been more on the couple's relationship with the second child to balance it out, but the novel seems to focus more on the couple's relationship and the kids' relationship with each other. I guess this part can be summarized by what the ML said to MC (not word for word bc I MTL'd it) : the kids can accompany each other, but only you (MC) can accompany me.

I guess the mpreg part might be weird but tbh I didn't really care that there wasn't any explanation. I just rolled with it.

The antagonists/canon fodder villains/? Nothing much to say. They're mostly just there as plot devices and to be face-slapped.

Overall, fun read, esp if you like entertainment, family/romance, cute kids, etc. <<less

Because of the reviews I was avoiding this one for so long that I forgot I was avoiding this one so when it came up on a recommended list I started reading it and it was great besides the translation until the MC got pregnant and told Qiqi that nonsense.

I kept reading though because I was like ok it can't be as bad as what they were saying right? So I kept reading only to find out it was that bad like they are literally just neglecting the second child... more>> which is their blood over their adopted child like yes you should make the adopt a child not feel less wanted but instead you made your birth child feel less wanted that makes no sense to me (not saying they should've neglected qiqi instead) so I just kept reading hoping it would get better but it didn't by the time I was going to just give it up I ended up reading all of it. <<less

I know I am only short dozens of chapters before completing the main story, but I couldn't take it anymore.

The story was very good in beginning, but it became very flat. Especially after mpreg was introduced. There was something missing in the story. It was fluffy but lack genuine warmth.

I am not going to spoil anything in details, but I feel like the MC is packaged to be too good in everyway. His weakness is only one thing. The novel feels a bit pretentious.

Some parts are written in too much... more>> details, while some is skimmed way too quick. Transition in some places is a bit choppy.

I really liked another the novel by the Author. I rated that novel 4.5. I had some hoped for this one so I presevered until this far.

I hope I am not too harsh. This novel has its merit. I actually love the ML. He is trully a man of his word. He abides by his principles and trully a respectable person. He is one of my fave ML so far. <<less

It's a very good story and easy to MTL, if you are the same as me and can't wait to read forward.

It's pleasant to read and don't get bored after reading a few chapters.

I think I'll still wait for the translator to advance more chapters before read the translate version. (I already MTL it (๑¯◡¯๑))

Highly recommended (。•̀ᴗ-) ✧

ML and MC is straightaway my top BL couple!!!.

the couple is well balance, they know how to communicate with each other hence there is not much conflict.

As for the arrange marriage part, there is no dog blood plot, no whining and no overlord declarations. They accept it rationally, together with the responsibility that a married couple needs to uphold, which is fidelity. They also did not close the possibility of them being a possible couple.

As for the romance, it was not instant. sure there is attraction between the two but... more>> the process of falling in love is gradual and journeying with them through it all is utterly satisfying.

for the m-preg, it was sudden but there have been some slight foreshadowing, it was a slight mention but still unexpected. Nevertheless, it is still welcome after-all it is just right that QiQi will have a brother of his own that is as cute and adorable as him.

Also heads up to the author for giving us good female characters in this book. there is a hetero couple, their romance is not given a conclusion but we can guess the ending perfectly.

and for the extra... did not expect them but their story is also beautiful. like the main story the couple in the extra compliments each other perfectly and they showed how once again, communication is the key to everything. Also there is nothing more terrifying in romance than an unaware love interest.

OVERALL A GREAT NOVEL. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

was re reading the translation and I can't help but notice that while ML have someone he likes its not deep enough for him to forsake his marriage. For me it feels like he was so used to waiting for Him, used to liking him so long that no one came in between. But his likes were not deep enough to commit himself entirely hence he was open with MC when they got married. His previous likes did not blind sight him. So when he met MC and experience all those ups and downs of romantic emotion and the feeling of being cared of he fell, not instantly but it began when the instant our MC showed up that's for sure <<less

I don't like m-preg unless it's ABO but I decided I'd give this story a chance as the plot seemed otherwise to my taste and I like the author's other novels. In its essence, this is a child raising story with a showbiz backdrop and the most green-flag romance possible. There's plenty of adorable moments between the newly married couple and their adopted son, and this novel is honestly very healing when it comes to constructing a loving family dynamic. There's very little drama as the characters are all a... more>> little too perfect, and there's so much communication between the main couple that misunderstandings basically die before they can even begin take off. It's unrealistic, but wholesome.

There's not too much substance to this novel, but at the same time it's very addictive to read. The banter between the MC and ML is a lot of fun, and I really appreciate how easygoing both of them are. They trust each other quite implicitly and build their relationship on that mutual trust, making sure to inform the other on important events as soon as they happen. I feel like the ML would have been an overbearing CEO with literally anyone else, but the MC has such an open and straightforward personality that ML just didn't have the chance to be haha. I really respect the ML for how he handled his white moonlight, he really never gave that man the time of day. (Which, seeing as he's married to literally the most perfect man in existence, makes sense.)

The MC is a very doting and capable parental figure from the start, which also carries on to his personal attributes in general as he's basically perfect at everything. It's a very calming novel to read because of that, as you know MC will succeed at whatever he does, but at the same time it does make his character much less relatable as he honestly has no flaws (except being tone deaf while singing... which is barely a flaw lol). I do really like however that he

didn't win the Best Newcomer award at one of the awards ceremonies though, I think this is the first time I've read a showbiz novel where the MC doesn't get that award haha!

After reading I do feel like the mpreg was a bit unnecessary as well, as adoption is clearly an option, but I went into this knowing it was going to happen so it was no surprise when it happened. I suppose it does go into the differences between blood and adopted children, but given that there's no biological explanation... Overall definitely enjoyable, but I think the plot line was stronger before the m-preg was involved. I got a little bored after the midpoint of the novel.

Will also say that the couple dynamic is very similar to the author's other novels, especially "The Supporting Male Character Just Wants to Be a Tool Man" so if you enjoyed this novel would check that one out! I liked that one a bit more, probably because the tone was a little more comedic as well as emotionally intense (to make up for the OP protagonist halo) and there was also no unexplained m-preg. Which on that topic, I really did not like how the explanation for how a man could even get pregnant was just

ML having some plot-driven ability to procreate so whoever he had s*x with should be able to make babies with him?? I'm sorry but are we really going to attribute male pregnancy to magic sperm here. There's no biological explanation for where in his body this baby is growing. My suspension of disbelief can only go so far.

[collapse]

Also unrelated but about that first movie that MC and ML did together, I lowkey need a spin-off fix-it story of the cop and criminal hahaha I am invested in that CP for some reason, maybe because it's a tragic end and I need them to have a happy ending. Like we need a reborn plot line or some kind of meeting earlier timeline. There's potential. <<less

Rating: 4.9/5

This novel basically contained two stories considering how you get a whole a** short novel with over sixty chapters in the extras surrounding a side CP depicting their life and love journey.

I will shamelessly admit that I skipped most of Wei Lan's and Wei Xun's (the side CP) story, only reading the beginning few chapters and end. My reasoning is simple. I did not sign up to read their story when I began to read this novel. If it was packaged as its own separate novel, I might have... more>> saved and read it another time on my terms. But as their story was tagged to Yan Qingchi's and Jiang Mochen's story, I felt immediately turned off. That does not mean that the story and plot of the side CP is bad. In fact, I feel like their story might be pretty interesting.

It's just that I don't feel like reading their dynamic right now. I like reading different dynamics at different times depending on my mood so having a specific dynamic forced on me through extra chapters centered around a side CP is like pushing a beer bottle into your designated driver friend's hand who used to struggle with alcoholism and had just succeeded in staying sober for three months.

Leaving the side CP aside, I really enjoyed the main story and main couple. Most characters were likeable aside from the antagonists. Side characters were fleshed out more the more important they were so the only ones that were one dimensional were those who did not get enough screentime. Some antagonists saw some much needed character development instead of letting them stay their irrational entitled selves which I appreciate.

What I especially liked was the main CP. They were both very rational and communicated well with each other which helped a lot to put out any sparks of conflict that had arisen and would have threatened to develop into misunderstandings like it would have happened in other novels. Their relationship development was also satisfying af and pretty smooth. They went from strangers that did not necessarily get along all that well to lovers and family that trust and support each other. Their humorous banter was also one of my highlights. Both people were major green flags.

Another thing I liked was how the children acted like children, not small geniuses or little adults. The kids played a big part in the plot and had a big influence on how the main CP got along. So I appreciate them acting their age all the more, considering how genius small adult children in Chinese novels are one of my biggest pet peeves.

As you can see, I really liked the main story. Might have also liked the side story, judging from the quality of the main text. But alas, extras and side couples just happen to be a turn off for me. So my rating will only be for the parts that I did read. <<less

I'll update the review when I'm finished, just wanted to make a quick note on the mpreg setting

Spoiler

I've read in comments/notes in other novels that mpreg is looked at favorably because it preserves the bloodline vs. Adoption with no blood relation. A hierarchy might look like pregnancy/mpreg > surrogacy > adoption. So, when viewed from a cultural perspective, the mpreg setting isn't inexplicable. How well it'll be executed, I'm about to find out.

It was a good read for me! Enough face slapping, fluff, comedy, and the likes. So I ended up MTL-ing the rest of the chapters because it's a really intriguing story. I especially like how their relationship is transparent. They really practice the communication is key! Which didn't lead to misunderstandings on their relationship.

Idk which part (tho, it's on the latter part) but I didn't bother reading so many chapters that involved them in a variety show which I felt really wasn't necessary, especially the fans comments! so so so so many! That I never bothered to read them at all!

The mpreg was also unnecessary, istg. The author didn't even bother to say how it came to be lol. Also, blame me for not reading the tags carefully that when... more>> I reached that chapter, I was shocked, lol.

I'm not sure if I'll still come back to read the rest of the extras as this novel isn't something I would want to read again.

Anyway, it's still a good story but there are just a lot of unnecessary stuffs that felt dragging. <<less

I really, really like this series! MC somehow transmigrated into a cannon fodder in a novel. The MC is really smart & resourceful, also quite OP for a showbiz story. Our ML is infatuated with the annoying protagonist shou. Make sense, since ML is actually the protagonist gong. Fortunately MC save him from the brain-dead story of you-wait-for-me-while-I'm-chasing-other, and escape the fate of being protagonist shou superb spare tire. As a nice touch, after the ending it's MC best friend turn for happy ending.

I liked it as a sort of transitionary novel to read after I just finished reading a very heavy, very serious mystery thriller novel. The story was sweet and cute and though there were plotholes, I could still chose to ignore it.

I knocked out one star because of the mpreg arc and the way the second child was treated. I feel like it would have been better if they just kept it at that and didn't add the mpreg trope anymore because it made me sort of dislike the way... more>> the second child was treated. Probably because it sort of hit a little bit close at home with how obvious the discrepancy between the amount of love was shared between the first and second child.

Still, it was a good read and I can still push to recommend this to other readers. <<less

Finished the raws, though I didn’t read the extras about the side CP (and the chapters after it). Overall, its a cute novel with (mostly) well-written characters and a decent story for a showbiz with some slice of life elements in it.

I liked the ML a lot. He isn’t a domineering CEO, just a person who loves his family. The side characters were decent, but just decent. There were parts that honestly stuck out to me a lot, whether the sudden mpreg and the (sort of) weird reaction to it... more>> that passed very quickly, or the incredibly fast pace of the start of the novel, or even the filler parts of the novel. There were parts I felt like it could do better. The sudden s*x right after they marry, for example. I’m fine with s*x without love in general (and they did both consent to it), but I just find it too fast paced and fake for me. The mpreg felt forced to me too. I’m glad that it brought out some more plot about the MC’s past and added more depth to the romance and story in general, but it felt unnatural. I feel like it could have gone without the whole mpreg and just kept with their adopted child, but it’s not like I’m right. The author also didn’t do a terrible job writing this.

It’s not my type of novel, but it’s regardless a cute novel to pass the time with. Sorry for the bad English and have a nice day. <<less

the story got all the cozy warm fluffly feeling, I like the lead couple so much, they make me smile while I reading.

MC is the so call orphan transmigater BUT he cherished everything in the past and embrace all the new changes.

Bad guy don't stay long, most of story focus in emotional between the lead couple

I like how they aware of their fame and try to eased the fandom atmosphere before come out. They are so considerate to their fan. The way they respect the fandom (QwQ)

I didn't finish WeiLan extra though

- I like him but I just realised I don't like willful character that much as I just recently finish the same vibe of willful character I got tired of the personality. The way they can act all they want cause they got the power background, so good huh?

- he get to know WeiXun when he's 12 already. I can't relate this one to the 22 y.o. Dude who give orange for WeiXun to taste if it's his favourite taste before eating it. If they are that close I think WeiXun should raise Weilan since he's a toddler.

I love WeiLan in the story bot not the extra.
