Three years ago, as a consequence of Commander-in-Chief Jiang Ting’s error in judgement during an anti-drug operation in Gongzhou, a chain of explosions occurred at the scene and caused the Narcotics Division to suffer heavy casualties. Now three years later, Jiang Ting, whose flesh and bones should’ve faded from existence after dying at the line of duty, actually miraculously woke up from a vegetative state.
His heroic soul could not rest – he must return to the mortal world from the depths of hell and exert all that he has in order to bring the bloody and inconceivable truth to light.

At first I was concerned about characters, because Jiang Ting wasn’t fleshed out right away and I thought I wouldn’t be able to care about him, but then I was pleasantly surprised, how bit by bit his backstory and motives are shown. Both mains are great and so are side characters! I really loved the female police intern and her little development. I think Yan character is written pretty realistically, his thoughts make sense to his character and it makes very entertaining to watch him interact with Jiang. So if you like mysery/action novels, with some hilarious humour and bl slowburn, I definately recomend!
