The Villain’s Younger Sister

Description

Nie AnAn woke up one day and realized that she had transmigrated as the villain’s adoptive sister.

In the novel, the villain conquered left and right, and his always woe-is-me younger sister was always cleaning up after him. The two of them were rightfully the grim reapers in the book.

The very next day after her transmigration, the soft and delicious Nie AnAn passed out from seeing blood.

And so —

The shivering competitors noticed that their nemesis’s sister had turned to a delicious treat — and wanted to protect her;

The original male lead noticed that young Miss Nie, who had been chasing after him this entire time, wouldn’t even give him the time of day anymore — and felt unbalanced;

Young Master Nie was very happy that his parents had two kids back then– she was so cute;

A certain cold blooded and violent villain had been going home earlier and earlier, and the way he talked was becoming gentler and gentler.

Villain Brother: AnAn, come over. Let me try some of it.

Nie AnAn: Hold on, gege. It’s not ready yet.

The story telling of this author is definitely wonderful. Implying things that don't necessarily need to be out right said and leaving in subtle hints of the scheming in the background. I have no problems with the story itself but the questionable morals that the author seems to imply.

You see this alot with female x male chinese novels. You have either the weak, helpless female lead X the powerful, stoic male lead or the head strong female lead X even more powerful male lead. The things they have in common... more>> is the dotting male lead, always powerful, always strong. That's not necessarily bad though.

The author also seems to put the point across that the delicate house wife, the one who wears dresses and patiently waits at home is really the best kind of female. The previous soul was a head strong woman who fought for what she wanted. She was vicious and had a muscle brain, getting tattoos and out right confessing her love for the man she wanted. Yet the author seems to absolutely disdain that type of girl.

The previous soul's love interest out right mocks that kind of straight forward love. I'm not exactly saying that the previous soul was in her right to sell out her own brother. But I'm also not saying that this MC who is so 'demure' and 'gentle' is all that good eiither.

The heavy values of the author seem to be influencing this book in a bad way.

The rational part of me thinks that this is a fight back against all the people who say white lotus characters are bad. But another part of me thinks there is something a bit sexist in this writing.

But, if you wanna just read this story straight as it is, without looking in between the lines, it's a genuinely sweet story about a girl in a new body who conquers the world with her cooking. Eventually gaining her brother's acceptance and love. From what I've read, there is no revenge carried out by our MC, and even if there was, it was most assuredly done by her brother.

(Sorry if I read too far into this :P) <<less

It's a typical story so far, nothing different. If you're bored and don't have something to read, then you can read this to pass time.

I stopped reading this story. These are the reasons why:

Spoiler

- MC goes to the club where the male lead (Qin Zhiming) was right after transmigrating. She's too adaptable for someone who's not familiar with her new environment.

- Male lead (QZ) and his friends are childish and s*upid af.

- Brother was a typical ML, a CEO who's cold and serious.

- MC was a typical Mary Sue.

- Author mentioned a lot of times that MC has an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, then shouldn't she be treated? Lol. Author used terms without even understanding it.

- MC has a permanent tattoo on her face and was removed within a day without leaving any scars. Like wtf??

It's dumb.

MC is dumb.

Bro is a villain who is just a serious brocon to someone who just acted cute on him when they were kids.

Original story is dumber. Just another FL is a white flower lotus who has the blackest heart and ML is dumbest piece of ?.

Spoiler

MC is a transmigator who has read the story before. She went and met her brother and ML in some club and acted indiferrent to the ML. Afterwards she got her s*upid ass tatoos removed from her face the same day. Then she lost consciousness becausr of some blood (she's a chef though and some meat has some blood so I highly suspect ot was added to make her look more saintly) Cleaned and rearranged their entire cupboard coz she OCD and cooked the best meal her brother's ever eaten.

Afterwards went online to get her cooking certificate. Actually she just said she will search online pn how to get her cooking certificate and viola she has it.

Then she went and joined some dumbass show to get her image restored and tell the whole world she doesn't like the original ML.

It's a story just like any other transmigation story that deludes you into thinking it's good but clearly it's dimb aff. <<less

the novel is good but too short, wish it was longer.

there isn't much drama and the novel is a bit fast pace. However the novel does keep you invested.

Spoiler

the ML is the villain bro. He is reborn while the MC is transmigration.

This novel is by no means horrifying nor is it anywhere good. After reading the whole novel, I was left with a very unsatisfactory feeling. Its an entirely unmemorable read.

The novel has a transmigrated FL and a reborn ML lead with a nominal no blood related brother sister relationship that turns romantic. This simple relationship structure and the transmigration-reborn element gave me expectations of clichéd face slapping or perhaps healing past life trauma through love sort of thing feels. But I was completely disappointed.

Spoiler

The ML just breezed by the fact that the original "sister" was replaced. Even if there wasn't any sibling love, can you just accept and fall in love with someone who has the same body and face as someone who you practically raised? Not to mention he literally treated her like a child for the most part in 1st half of the novel and then suddenly bam! They're engaged.

Then we have the FL, who did absolutely nothing in this novel. I felt like her being there was of no consequence. With or without her the male lead would have had his rebirth revenge plot completed perfectly! Why was she of consequence? She didn't even do much in terms of being a mental, emotional or psychological support for the ML.

The FL's personality was also as the author seem to put it - lamp like, so she did no face slapping of consequence what so ever (beating up one person who tried to take advantage of her doesn't count). The premise of the original character was an all rogue lady with a face tattoo and an unhinged personality who talked with her fist. Frankly, I felt the FL wasted the potential of this body not to mention a face tattoo can't just be put and taken off like paint!!!!!

[collapse]

All in all, if your here for some no - brainer - transmigration - face slapping - personality change turning tr*sh person into all powerful brand of cliche - this ain't the what your looking for.

And if your looking for a sweet no drama transmigration plot, this doesn't entirely meet up to standards but its a good time pass if you just want to read something along this line. <<less

I'm lazy so main points:

-MC is the pure rabbit trope, cute, innocent, beautiful, klutzy (only at the right times) and super 'pure' but otherwise has no ideals, no real character.

-ML is the strong, cold, genius who happens to fall in love with the MC because she's so pure and cute.

... more>> Enough with these empty shells of people, I could take ten other MLs from other novels and they'd still fit into this story which proves that this ML has nothing unique going for him.

The story in itself is bland, nothing happens, no hardships appear, no hardships will ever appear because thats just how the story is.

No real moment of tension, I know that in novels like these the main couple always wins that's fine but at least pretend that the villain might actually have the upper hand for once.

I know that this story isn't meant to be a dogblood or Face-Slapping story so I wasn't expecting that, but the real problem is that nothing happens ever. There's no real end goal we're working towards. <<less

Would recommend for fluff, wish it was longer but if you think about it this length makes sense. After all, villains are supposed to be OP, and if they have a chance to redo how could they not absolutely crush ML's who only have a halo to protect them? Villains are usually known as men who know how to scheme to get what they want, and our big villain certainly did~

Additionally, the side female character is adorable and not obnoxious. Personally not fond of how her romance arc was just tacked on on the end there though... If all the crap CEO pregnancy Chinese novels have taught us anything, it's marriages started due to pregnancies and only because of pregnancies usually have more issues than blessings.

I really liked this story. It was short and didn't have too many conflicts. I liked how accepting the ML was to the MC when he knew that she was a different soul.

What's the point of even reading this? You might as well just as go and read the spoilers - they'd tell you the entire plot with as much character development as we get in the story -_-

The entire thing felt rushed, the characters can't even be classed as cardboard cut outs - they only exist as names on a page. If the author wanted to write a short, cute story, they should have cut down the scope of what they wanted to talk about. Cutting the chapters up into short... more>> sections, as the translator did, also added to the problem as you would expect a 125 chapter story to have more character development. <<less

Argh, I love this, I need moreeeeee. I would recommend if you like the taciturn ML type, or even the soft Female main character type, this whole thing is really very good and the translations as always are so smooth. I'm only on chapter 11, but I can without a doubt say I will stick with this until the end.

I will say, I love this story very much. There's a bit fluffy as the ML really treat the FL as the child at first. Although it have transmigration genre in it, it still a new style story for me (by the way, I have read plenty others transmigration genre but this is a fresh and a good one I would say).

I would say, I will repeat read it as I find the story is good and the author really did a good and fresh story here.

Completely vanilla, so much so, I found it very boring. Both leads are the best looking most talented people to have ever lived. There is no meat to this story. Their interactions to this point are infantile, they went to an amus**ent park and held hands, and this far into the story they haven't had one adult conversation about anything.

Just not for me I guess, I won't rate this as I'm clearly not the intended audience.

Overall is a cute and fluffy story with just flows smoothly without much drama or ups and downs. May not be everyone cup of tea but I liked the story. MC character was very cute and naive which was an absolute contrast to the original body she transmigrated into. It was not a surprised that ML noticed that the original and MC are different people.

ML is actually reborn and was not really as vicious as a villain is expected to be. ML takes care of MC a lot and dotes... more>> on her while MC is very obedient towards ML. ML turned into a bit of wolf with MC at the end but it was still sweet and funny.

Enjoyable short fluffy and with a dash of comedy. <<less

I quite enjoy the story right now. There is nothing to majorly dislike so far, just one thing that makes me uncomfortable.

PROS

  • easy pace
... more>>
Spoiler

It is a nice and steady stream. I’m not easily lost when I return back to the story, and there isn’t anything yet that makes my blood pressure spike. So it’s ok.

[collapse]

CONS

  • the sibling relationship
Spoiler

Currently, the MC is developing affection for the ML (or the original’s brother/not blood related but still) ? And that honestly makes me feel weird. It also another point the ML already has a hunch about his sister not being his real sister, and that he is reborn. I understand the betrayal factor of the last life, but she is still your sister. But you’re not worried about some random nice soul being in her body. The MC is great and all and the ML hasn’t really solidified the brotherly role in her heart yet, but that doesn’t change the fact that he is still considered a bro in nearly every other aspect.

I just feel majorly uncomfortable by this. It seems that the growing affection between the two is just growing without obstacles and it’s weird. They have a brother sister bond to the outside world, he’s reborn, the original sister is gone and the brother isn’t feeling a little worried (I understand because he already faced betrayal once he doesn’t want to experience it again, but she is still your sister for like 10 years), and the MC has no thoughts on it at all. I bet the moment the feels reach the peak, she’s going to act out an “I love you but I don’t dare, but I want to and I will once we shower each other with love for 3 chapters. (By that I mean like public confession, dinner date, etc...) ”

[collapse]

  • at some point, the MC is just Mary Sue
Spoiler

Ok, once she is in the world, she completely turns tattoo love freak to cutesy cookie in a flash. No one really tries to get to the bottom of it. No one really says anything. The ones who are the most weirded out are the past crush and the ml. The crush is just confused and weirded because she used to be so wanton and hideous and then became an angel who didn’t care about him. (Way to go! But otherwise, eh.) The ML is confused because his sister was supposed to be this love struck fool who would betray him according to his rebirth, but she suddenly turned into the cutest sister in the planet that make some want to spoil her rotten. And no matter what the MC does, it’s got to be cute and everyone’s got to love her. Her real parents who barely knows her other than a program loves her. Loves her a lot. Like a daughter. Like a real daughter that they don’t know is the real daughter, but still got to love her like one. Though they only know her from a program... And she is even described with poreless skin in the recent chapter. Now this is all about the realistic aspect of it though. It pokes at me because she got her tattoos removed on her face but is still poreless. It’s supposed to just make the MC look better, but just leaves me nudged.

[collapse]

OVERALL

The story is about a girl who got transmigrated and is winning everyone with her food and cuteness. Done, that’s it. The realistic aspect of it is a little skew, but as long as you don’t really mind it, it’s ok. I don’t think there is any prominent pros to the story and the cons are if something irks you. (And they do, very much.) The reason it got a 4 is because I don’t hate it that much for a 2 or 3 but can’t say I like it enough for a 5. So I’d say 3.5 which is a 4. <<less

Hmm, it was okay. It felt like a lot happened yet it felt nothing happened. I really liked the idea yet as I read it nothing really hooked me in. There was never any tension, even in the most straight forward or slice of life story a conflict arises and you feel something. Nothing like that ever happens. It just felt so bland.

The MC is a little bunny, if it weren't for the author keep mentioning it I would forget she was actually 18 and not just one of those... more>> adults who acts like a cutesy teen because they're white lotus types. She can be real professional with her job though I feel like she's less a nutritionist and just a chef. But then she also acts her age (sometimes she acts even younger and it comes off as kid who's acting like what they think adults act like.

And ML... well he's just there. Cold genuis business man, I don't know. I honestly can't remember anything dynamic about him other than

Spoiler

he's reborn and becomes aware his 'sister' isn't herself. For a moment he thought the changes were because she was like him but it's too drastic. So he calmly accepts she's a new soul. He did say something that rubbed me wrong, he said he wouldn't do anything if she was underage but then when he found out she was of age he was like "I'll give you a month to get used to the idea that we're gonna have s*x." Like 😬 not cool. And when she was pregnant she did something else for him and then later acted like she was traumatized, hurt or something. That's not cute at all.

I'm a little disappointed he didn't feel anything sad for his sister though, even if she did betray him she had a bad end and in the end they did grow up together, he raised her into who she was.

[collapse]

If anything I feel bad for the OG! little sister. I think she was interesting, secret background aside. Feral/simple street child trying to do her best in a world she doesn't understand. They went from working for a gang to being business people, that was a transition she couldn't adapt to. She dealt with reporter like she did hooligans. She obviously had very soft looks that didn't help her work so she probably did the face tats to look tougher. It would have been funny to see MC try to be more like the OG at first or her past affecting MC instead it got copped out. MC is soft personality, has OCD can't deal with blood or mess. So anything related to the OG was skipped. I think love did blind the original goods in the end. She never even got to
Spoiler

meet her bio family who missed her so much. Too pitiful.

[collapse]

No one gets much character development. If there was it felt fake.
Spoiler

ML's half sister was quickly converted to a supporter after eating MC's food. She goes on to wanting to marry MC's half brother (for the food) and actually sleeps with him because she's sad, gets pregnant and he's like okay let's get married. Ugh. And people are like they could fall in love after marriage but like I didn't care at all. The story just ends.

Also, I agree with one review that the author seems to hate the rugged, strong type kind of women that the original NAA was.

what's with the brain dead scene of putting tattoos on face (if she really liked that) but seems to have no other tattoos on the body (or maybe I'm being biased lol) and then removing that with no scars?? On the face??

A nice novel but clique and predictable, also too rushed for me as marriage doesn't even feel special.

It also made me uncomfortable that MC calls ML 'big brother' even after they get together and a side characters was also called that by their GF.

Not much suspense in the novel as having past memories prevents any big evil plans from coming true. I also always felt bad for the previous owner as MC instantly became a different person and was liked by everyone so much more so it just sad cuz... more>> original body owner wasn't evil just s*upid in love.

There were of course good things too such as the family who I really liked and MC/ML relationship was sweet at times even if it was a little fast. Also great that MC didnt go into show business as I'm personally sick of those types if novels but instead she cooked so well a female character fell in love, who I first thought was gonna be a villain, so I was a nice change. <<less

I really can’t keep reading this novel. I like the original body way more than the MC who transmigrated. The original body was rebellious, strong, independent, and didn’t give a s* what others thought about her. The MC is basically a typical weak housewife like girl who relies on and panders to her brother. The author really loves to sh*t on the original body and pretend the MC is better than her when the original body was way cooler. This is basically a novel that shits on women who can’t... more>> fit themselves in the mold that men want them to fit in. MC’s “pros” are all things like cooking, household chores, looking clean and “pure” and being “motherly/wifely.” <<less
