Now that he enters his high school career, Satomi Koutaro begins his life living alone in an apartment that only costs him 5000 yen per month, an extremely cheap deal even for this small apartment. There’s a catch: the apartment is apparently haunted by a cute ghost that has driven its prior occupants away.

Next thing he knows, not only is there a ghost trying to drive him out of his new home, but magical girls and other unique female characters turn this small apartment into a battleground of sorts.

Light slice of life, lighthearted comedy, and action for the later parts. This story changes as it goes, explaining things and placing them within the storyline to fit in. Each book adds more to every character (although sometimes one book one character) and the series has a certain feeling of warmth to it to keep you thinking about each character and their situations. Another addition is that this series actually sticks with the apartment through the whole series while relating new locations (and of course, new characters) with it to... more>> never get you bored of the scenery.

If you don't like how characters are portrayed, wait a couple of books, because more details will be added for reasons of personality, history, ect. <<less

A very entertaining LN! The plot is well written and will leave you with a lot of questions which will get answered later on. This isn't your typical harem series where everything is predictable and corny. It's true it starts off a bit typical (if you leave out how weird the girl's are) but as it goes on the author display their storytelling skills with good like foreshadowing. The harem is also very unique: there isn't a single normal person in it and that's what makes it fun. Everyone can... more>> fight so no annoying damsel in distress. Although they all have problems they can't solve on their own, but they gladly help each other out so it's all good.
Spoiler

My favorite harem members are:
Clan
Harumi
Maki
Kiriha
Ruth

I love all of them but these five are my fav

[collapse]

Story: 5/5
MC: 5/5
Harem: 5/5
Characters 5/5

It may not be perfect as they would have less trouble if they actually kill some of their enemies but you really can't complain since the enemies are tolerable. <<less

I find this story absolutely refreshing. The characterization really kicks in the later novels. Each volume brings them closer together. Its a heartwarming series which brings a smile about my face every page I read. Theia = best girl :D

This is one of my favourite novels due mostly too how light hearted it is.

The romance is pretty good but its slow and the main character is a bit dense like usual in JP novels.

It has its fair share of action but its mostly about the interaction and the growing relationship between the people living in room 106.

Its a fun light hearted story also pretty intriguing.

If you like slice of life and romance I am sure you will enjoy this novel

Note: This review only reviewing about some of the main plot aspect that ended at v26.

As much I don't like naive and character comparison side writing, I can pretty much says that this works pretty much gem. Takehaya is a master when it comes to writing characters and settings, you can feel each character, you can feel their worry, and you can feel their hopelessness. For me, the peak of this novel is volume 9. Hell, it's among one of my favorites in my catalog. Honestly, I know why Takehaya... more>> chooses this kind of writing. He understand that most of his reader was still in High School, pretty much stated in one of his afterwords. However the naive that was also supported by the environment made me hard to fully immersed in this novel, not to mention that every villain needs to be compared to the main cast. Each time, I need to take a break because I can't keep up with it anymore, and then get back to it because I'm still hooked.

For the other aspect, I think the other reviewers already pretty much stated it and I agree. <<less

Read it many times over. Still fascinated by the weavings of its story though later part shows some holes it still the best of its genre that I have read so far. It may be a typical harem school stuff at first glance but have a shot at it, wont disappoint you at least. My best girl is still Yurika tho. Hahaha. Dont know why.

5 Star! This is my first review.

I'm really enjoying this series. The characters are funny, there is action, sci-fi, magic, paranormal, well there are too many girls and sometimes it feels cliché but the banters are good that I find myself continue reading.

At first I felt like the author forces so many roles to the MC too much but by the end of v7, everything connects. But it got hyped good when it got me thinking 'so the author written this for this purpose', 'so thats why that character said... more>> this'. Author is genius! If not, he must spent time thinking and planning this from the very beginning.

Edit. After the hero side story arc, character development feels so forced to me. Very cringy. Dropped it. How do I change my rating? I want to rate it 3 star now. <<less
