A small twist on your typical apocalypse novel - we have an alien species/demons instead of zombies - but most of the rest are the same. Humanity still has ability users who level up by killing the humans-turned-demons and collect their crystals.

The writing and translation was engrossing, descriptive, and flowed very well. Excellent work!

Unlike other rebirth novels that describe the hoarding/horrors of the early days of the apocalypse, this one is fast-forwarded to where society has already adjusted to the existence of demons and many bases with many types of... more>> leaders have already established their power bases, giving it a distinctive "gaming RPG" feel.

There are even specialty blacksmiths where users can take their "demon drops" to forge special upgraded weapons and armors.

MC is very strong (and so is the ML). They have an atypical role-reversal relationship where MC takes the initative and ML is more shy, adorable, house-husband. It's super cute and fluffy and wholesome.

The story itself is also very wholesome. Despite describing a lot of horrific human experimentation as well as the darkness of the human heart, it tells an uplifting story of people in various walks of life improving themselves and coming together.

Cannon-fodders that may initially come off as horrible or "b*tchy" also get their redemptions. It's a nuanced view that rarely appear in black-and-white zombie novels.

There's also a sense of fantasy/magical realism/fairy tale in the writing. The early meetings between the MC and ML reminded me a lot of Beauty and the Beast.

Overall the novel maintains a good pacing throughout. I only wish there were more extras to read at the end! <<less

OMG so f*cking good!!! It made me cry, it made me laugh and gripped my heart the whole way through! LOVED MC and ML and all the supporting characters were also great! Back story was so sad but their love was sooo damn sweet! MC was tough and strong, yet kind but not naive. My heart bled for ML and just loved his fluffiness. He was so badass and protective but not overbearing and at all times supportive of MC. I want me one of those! So dreamy! LOVE this... more>> author! So creative, twisty and sweet!! <<less

Perfection. This book is so underrated.

The ML is a haunted demon who suffered so much on the hands of human. From his family, to that Sennai scums. Reading the research they did on him, and other innocent people really heartwrenching. Outside of his image as a demon, he actually a soft bean who main purpose in life is to serve his mistress lol.

The FL is a strong and compassionate being, but at the same time so rational. I love how patient she was in convincing the ML that she's there... more>> to stay. She did so again and again. Because he does need a bit more convincing which is understandable.

Also this book has good side characters, and most of the villains (except for Sennai scums) have backstory. I empathized with Ah xiao and the bird girl so much. While Yuyu is an interesting character. With his real interest to get to know human better. Also his side of the story as a demon, why they are there and what's the purpose of their existance.

I wish we can see more of the ending. I'm interested to know since the ML is undead, and the FL is not then how they gonna handle this. But too bad the ending is rushed <<less

A good strong FL with a sweetheart of a villain who’s a misunderstood and persecuted half demon. Story explores humanity’s soft and hard traits - camaraderie vs indifference, kindness vs cruelty, forgiveness vs hatred. Looking forward to reading alternate book Apocalypse Arrival.

In the alternate novel, "Apocalypse Arrival", the MC is reborn to before the demon apocalypse. With her knowledge, survival skills and combat experience, she is OP, and saves people.

The alternate novel "Apocalypse Arrival" is "early" apocalypse, so there is a working army, food, materials available, and the MC's OP-ness makes the story feel more optimistic to me (at chapter 46) because she is able to save people, although some readers say it's actually more grim.

In contrast, in "Let the Villain Go", the demon apocalypse was followed by the Shennai religious cult abducting/experimenting/torturing humans to create half-demons, and the broken frontier cities are constantly and exhaustively battling demons for their survival. People starve or sell themselves, and the strong bully the weak. It's a pretty depressing world. I only stayed to read the MC and ML's sweet romance and their eventual

Good! Premise is almost exactly like other apocalypse novels with people awakening elemental powers and the monsters having cores/nucleus to level. Except, there are demons instead of zombies which makes it more varied and a breath of fresh air. MC is strong and I loved her

They never describe the dream which feels unfinished but I guess that's what reading the other novel is for

This is a good one ! I finally finished reading this alternate universe story! Swhere the MC remembered her rebirth life from the Apocalypse Arrival story. So finally we find. Out the reason why demons really arrive here and also we get to see some realisation here.. hmmm I won’t say what those are but I think it is pretty obvious!

and of course you get to see some fluff love of the ML and mc! And their struggles TwT ohhh, , , I feel so sad for many people in... more>> this story. That bad organisation really needs to die!

i recommend everyone to read the Apocalypse Arrival First before reading this. Because this is like a longer yrs version. So you won’t get much information on what enemies they had first before the later version ones. But you can also read this if you don’t really care much on the enemies. Ohh ohh and MC never really talk much on what happened on her dreams here. She just said “on her dreams” haha. So better to read the Apocalypse first. Haha.

Ending wise. I love some monsters here! Ohhh so cute! Want to marry him! But he is still one innocent baby ohhh! If he were alive here in this life. He wwill be like us reader ohh! So adorable!

and ending hmmm. Too fast paced but it is understandable since they got huge help... and also that bad guy really is too weak... only knows to experiment =.=...

the other bad guy is just a poor soul. His life is too sad.
And I don’t know what happened to my favorite monster... uuuu...

This is an alternate story line to Apocalypse Arrival.

I read AA first and thus enjoyed this one much more. It was nice seeing all the previous characters again, but sad that they were not aware of MC and lived separate lives.

MC and ML are still cute, and still power couple, and still spreading dog food to all the single dogs living near them. It was nice to know that no matter the timeline, MC and ML would end up together somehow.

The plot was somehow plain but main couple's heartwarming scenes filled it so I'm not complaining.

I Mtl'd last chapters and was not hard to read.

4.5 out of 5. I'm encouraging you to read it.

A very good story, the romance wasn't cringey, the ML's personality is very likable, the FL is the top 🤣... the story isn't full of romance but is well balanced together with action and adventure. Very interesting plot. And the ending was 🤭... don't read the spoiler below if you don't want to be spoiled by the ending.

The final chapter ended with Ye Peitian celebrating Chu Qianxun's birthday, he took paralyzing potion and aphrodisiac potion then wrapped himself with ribbons and presented himself to her.. well, you know what comes next 🤣🤣🤣

It starts off a bit on a low paced setting but it quickly picks up and expands into a very interesting story.

The world backstory is very interesting. And the leveling of abilities does not seem to progress speedily for the sake of forwarding the plot.

There are lots of emotional moments, especially when it comes to the male lead, Ye Peiten. His experiences are really to pitiful. But the writer remembers to balance it out by showing not only the darker, selfish side of humanity but also the loving, hospitable side... more>> too.

In this story, there is a real emotional attachment (you can't help but wish the best for the ML) to the characters. Add that to the interesting abilities and fight scenes and it's gold.

The romance is like toffee candy. It's sweet and unique. The male lead is a and the female lead is the one taking the lead. Yes, super cute! Their dynamic is very relatable. It isn't love at first sight, just a meeting that touches both of them. The two leads care for each other and slowly gravitate towards a relationship. The best part is, though the ML is strong, he doesn't smoulder the FL's fighting spirit. Both of them realise how necessary it is for her to get stronger since the ML has a lot of nasty enemies.

Good story. Love the FL and ML. Also love their character growth despite the short chapers. Even the side characters and the villains have their own characteristics and wasn't purely acting as cannon fodders.

Never thought I would have a favourite villain in a novel but..

I like how FL got to be fren-enemy with an OP monster (YuYu). And out of all villains, Ah Xiao and his little birdie were the saddest of all. Although their ending was inevitable seeing how Ah Xuan has fallen too deeply into his hatred and suffering, it's still sad.

The real villain, Shennai group, wasn't really focused on despite being the final boss.. Which is a downside for me because it could have been made into an epic final arc but was summarized into barely half a chapter in the ending lol

FL is strong and charismatic type. ML has a tough villain image but actually a gentle, innocent housewife who waits with delicious cooking and clean house for his husb--wife to come home after work.

The only downside is the ending is very rushed. Not many questions were answered and it feels like what should have took a couple more arcs, were summarized into two chapters.

My suggestion for new readers is read the spin-off "Apocalypse Arrival" first before reading this one. FL's dreams of her alternate self would make much more sense and relatable.

He's so sweet. Sensible characters in a post apocalyptic world. The fluffyness comes naturally but I do think his feelings for the MC are rushed, nevertheless, sweet~. Thank you for the translation~~

All in all the plot and the characters development are all good, and the novel is really interesting...

If you ask me about the fluffiness oh don't worry you'll find a lot 🤭

The only downside for me is the story ended up a bit faster 😥

Love it!

I love how the MC and the ML support each other. Their interactions are cute and fluffy. They influenced each other in a positive way and believed in each other. The battle scene is good, the MC is strong, confident, and doesn't need her man to do the work for her.

I'm kinda unsatisfied with how abrupt it ended, idk I thought there would be another arch or extra chapter. The final battle feel so short. There are a few side characters that I thought would be involved further but... more>> turns out they didn't.

Overall, it's a good story. <<less

this pair is very unique, our MC is very handsome, but still keep her feminine traits.. Somewhere.. Lol

the ML is sooo adorable, I never thought there would come a day I would read this kind of ML.. I’m choking many times seeing their flirting

So was it really just a dream (very unlikely, too real), or is it returning to the past (doesn’t seems so), or she shared memory from her other self in another parallel world (i think this one) ? Ahh what a poor baby :' (Our ML has been cast aside and used by the world, yet he still longs for comfort and people who will cherish him... he wants it so much yet he's so afraid, sigh.

Not too many chapters so far so I can't judge future progression, but so far very interesting. The "parallel world" dream seems like just a convenient plot device lol, but oh well.

5 stars solely for our MC being an awesome protagonist and ML being so lovable.

I loved the everything about this, the plot, worldbuilding and romance. Another thing that I appreciate is that side characters have their own rationality and are not brain dead. Also for the premise of the world that the story has, people do die here which is very realistic unlike some novels where the MC and ML can just save almost everyone.

Anyway, I began reading for the romance and I loved it. Both the MC and ML... more>> are not dense and very early in the novel realized their feelings for each other and didn't waste time deciding their decision to get together. Especially I love a female lead who is the one more direct in her actions and the one who leads the relationship to a much more loving one. ML is such a precious sweetheart.

All in all, I recommend this novel to those who wanna read romance along with light action and fights. <<less
