Su Qiuge transmigrated into a novel and became the villain’s cannon fodder younger sister who was constantly courting disaster.

Not only did her brother dislike her, but she also offended her brother’s sworn enemy, the male lead.

After she transmigrated, Su Qiuge decided to curry favor with the male lead so that he would abandon his plans of revenge against her. She wanted to transform her cannon fodder fate and became an obscure passerby in his life instead.

Her plans were going smoothly, until one day she saw the aloof and cold male lead staring at her with a terribly dark gaze full of possessive desire.

Su Qiuge:?? Male lead wake up! I’m the cannon fodder!

Later she realized that the male lead who seemed like a good student was actually black-bellied and full of unspeakable intentions towards her.

Good story for time pass. Average.

Kinda drag a long way. Sad at the ending. Typical high school romance with transmigration. MC and ML are good.

Spoiler

At the end they kinda separated. ML came back... Things back to normal yada yada...🙄 But idk how things become back to normal after 4 years like MC just forgave him

This novel was a gem filled with romance told how the main leads fell inove despite their differences at the same time with utmost dedication towards eachother....... it's been really a long time since I read a good plot with transmigration with comedy and black belly ML this story was definitely worth it no third love triangle no other misunderstandings just it took them real understanding of eachother to get together for eternity 💛

I held back from reading this one because I couldn't make it through some of the embarrassing episodes in the first few chapters & I found some interesting zombie apocalypse reads. I just had a long weekend and breezed through all of the chapters! Totally regretted not reading it sooner.

Some quick negatives out of the way...

1. Pacing is odd. Most of the novel is spent on their HS life. Only some one or two chapters were about college life.

2. Not much time is spent on their difficult backgrounds. I felt... more>> like the author could have spent another 25 chapters or something milking that angle... But that's just me.

3. Really rushed HE.

Those things out of the way, it was a quick, fluff filled read. Definitely worth checking out.

FL is funny, sweet and loveable. ML is typical domineering CEO type. It's just the author really cut down the drama that makes a story interesting. I can survive on pure fluff so this was really cute to me but serious readers may find it boring. <<less

Dropping this as early as chapter 27. All those 27 chapters can be described in one word— cliché. It's the typical "the FL transmigrated as the villainess cannon fodder but decided to be good to the ML" troupe. And we all know where it will lead— the ML falling in love. But that's not the main reason why I found it cliché. It's about all the elements of a typical high school romance here. E.g., the FL being naive and clumsy while the ML is the cold male god, the... more>> ML being slightly considerate but still teasing the FL when the FL's great aunt came and the ML saw it, etc. The next plot became so predictable that I easily got bored. You know, nowadays, the FL being a badass is more popular instead of the clumsy but kind FL. However, I have no prejudice against such an FL as I have some favorite FL being like that (except that, they're very talented or OP).

Overall, 1 star for the author's effort and 1 star for the translator's good work. Sadly, this is not my cup of tea. <<less

This one's so cute. The first few chapters made me laugh so much because of second hand embarrassment. I just couldn't stop reading. It's fairly light and nothing deep, but made my heart flutter with its cuteness. Made me wish I was back in highschool. 😂

Before I break down the good, the bad, and the ugly of the story, here are a few words of advice for those looking forward to reading the novel: Do not read with high expectations. It's a warm and light story that I honestly think shouldn't be taken too seriously. Trigger warnings for assault, and abuse.

The good:

    • Oddly enough, I adored the characters. The main characters aren't perfect, and the minor characters would grow on you. The female lead isn't the brightest, but she gets things done once she puts her mind to it. She's soft-hearted, yet knows where and when to give mercy. She's a whole new level of support system, not just for the male lead but for her friends too. On the other hand, the male lead exhibits a studious, put-together student whose true self was carved by the pains he's endured and continues to endure in life. He's far mature for his age, but ironically mischievous too. Their growth didn't only make me happy, it also evoked a sense of pride.
    • Yes, the writing felt juvenile, but isn't high school love supposed to be like that? Even without falling in love early, not all of us were "graceful" when we were young. We did and said s*upid things, and yet there're lessons that come with them.
    • As I've already mentioned, it's light and warm. Even when things seem bleak, there's this reassuring feeling that eventually things will be better.
    • The element of deus ex machina which I actually think could be both good and bad.
    • Sleepytranslations work on this is superb, too. I read a few chapters of theirs for this, and they're good at what they do. So props to them!
The bad:

    • Some elements and characters were glossed over.
    • Spoiler

The nicknames they would call Tang Jie.

      [collapse]
They weren't probably meant to come off as malicious and insulting, but words are powerful. They may just be words for some but can be something more for other people.
    • The deus ex machina because, honestly, how can they keep running into each other like that all the time?
The ugly:

    • The ending felt lacking. It's not bad, but I only wish there were more.
    • Again, trigger warnings for abuse, assault, and probably a few more I couldn't remember.
This novel isn't for everyone. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a short, funny, and sweet read, you can give this one a try. HE guaranteed!

Not the best but was quite fun. The only thing that bothers me was the number of coincidence that was bounty to the FL and ML. I guess the author wanted the main characters to have interactions, but for me, it was somewhat forceful. That was all, if you guys don't mind the cliches and 'coincidence' scenarios, this would be a good read.

Comedy is subjective. For me, this is pretty funny and enjoyable.

There are moments where my heart cringed and I almost felt like dropping it. But thankfully it never got that bad. This is in regarding the MC. Especially early on she had the bad habit of embarassing herself in front of the ML. It was JUST funny enough that I was able to push through it.

I honestly really like this novel so far and it's on my favorites list. I'd give it a shot if you're on the fence. If... more>> you don't think it's funny in the first few chapters you can just drop it. The humor is pretty consistant throughout. <<less

The story is good if your bored and looking for a story to read.

First of all, the title of this book does not have anything to do with the story at all. Though I still rate it as 4 stars 'cause like I've actually enjoyed it, and have actually read it up until the end.

Second, I'm a very picky reader. So for me to actually complete reading this book even if it lack thrilling moments in the plotline is kinda a miracle to say, even to myself.

Third, to be honest, I would have rated this 3 stars. Why? Obviously because the ending is... more>> not very fit to my liking. Anyone who've read the ending also would have agree with me. The ending SUCKS! Still, it can be considered to not like upset the readers if the end ultimately leans to something dramatic all of a sudden. So like the ending is all up to those people who've finished reading it. Make do with ending one have been expecting about.

Fourth, if you haven't checked out this book, and have like scroll to the reviews, especially the supposed to be tags of this book, DON'T FREAKING BELIEVE IN THE TAGS FOR PETE'S SAKE! Believe in the genres of it.

Fifth, this book revolves around studying and MLxMC development, so like the story as what I say, leans more on the daily life and fluffy interaction.

Sixth, actually, this book deserves 3 stars only. But since I'm in a good mood, I'll still rate it as 4 stars. I mean, it's been really awhile since the last time I finished a book, always dropping it midway cause of like nonstop dramas or cliches. So, yeah.

Lastly, I MTL'ed it, and it was not actually not that bad, compared to others when being MTL'ed. Anyways, just sharing. <<less

I had very low expectations for this novel, mainly because of all the low ratings, but as I started reading more of it, I started feeling like the reviews were... wrong. First off, the MC isn't so s*upid or annoying as to dislike the whole novel. In fact, as someone who gets impatient and irritated by anything and everything, this novel was pretty enjoyable, from the MC to the plot. It has a fair amount of cliche-ness, and there are quite a few overused tropes in here--nevertheless, it's a light... more>> and fluffy read, especially as it's narrated by such an innocent-minded MC. Maybe I'm just not as strict a critic as those other reviews? But I honestly really like this novel, and am (impatiently) waiting for updates as I type this. Hopefully more people start enjoying this as well and leave some better reviews, because like I said, I'm enjoying it. <<less

If you can read this for the story, the humour, without delving too much into characters, this novel is enjoyable, I lol a few times and the pacing was good.

That is, until after the confession and ML and FL are together officially. Normally I'm the type who loves the long epilogue, side stories, etc. But after they confessed all the author wrote were s*xual progression in the relationship. No emotional conversations and moments were had. Instead the author put them in the same hotel room, at his bday party where... more>> she kisses him in public after reading a date card (it's not even romantic), and now it's handcuffs. C'mon I want them to grow as a couple not just in physical intimacy.

The story loses its humour, which was the best part. And we loses the leads and pacing. I can't wait for it to be over and now I'm just skimming pages. <<less

The FL has the personality of a hangnail. Painful and annoying. It's not even that she's unlucky, it's that she keeps on making the dumbest decisions that put her in the worst situations. So you can really blame anyone else but her. That being said, she isn't that bright either and her chemistry with the ML is akin to dry, stale toast. The plot is boring, tired and old. Too much filler that added nothing to the story.

Sadly, I found it boring. Nothing special about the plot or the characters. The leads weren't likeable enough.

I guess there are some interesting elements such as the estranged older brother, the parents and ML's backstory, but it feels like they don't really matter until they are occasionally needed as obstacles to strengthen their love. The emotional tones in this novel are so bland they might as well be dead. It feels more like "following the script" so there's no real chemistry between leads or any attachment to the characters themselves.

Communication... more>> is non existent between the leads because ML "doesn't like to share his problems", as a result he's a boring "cold-type" who suffers silently for s*upid reasons that others could help him to solve. I can't see the appeal of a relationship like that. I get that he's is supposed to be "black-bellied" but he is closer to the "villain" prototype.

MC is just... there. She is harmless and loyal, that's all I can say about her. She doesn't do much.

Summed up, nothing special. Flat characters. A lot of ideas with poor execution. <<less

I can't take it now. In chapter 19 he clearly asked if she is his girlfriend or why she is caring so much. Girl should have told him that I was feeling guilty or I get to know that you and my brother are going to fight that's why I am here but no she did not say any thing and at this point she should know that she don't need to do anything further in order to please ML but no she is so dumb that next morning she... more>> is stuffing Candy's in his desk.

I'm not going to read anymore <<less

It’s a cute story though some chapters felt like fillers. Liked the FL and male lead. Some interactions between fl, her brother and the male lead were hilarious.

This already has a lot of reviews so I won't say much. Reading this was very enjoyable and MC has such a lovable personality. Some points it could improve are author could have given more groveling scenes on MC's brother side and author could have given a little more depth on what happened during the timeskip.

I actually really like this. I'm not quite sure why this has such a low rating. It's nothing super innovative, the writing is neither sublime nor subpar, however it's not overly cheesy, not written without feeling or character depth and is overall a good fluffy novel that isn't braindead.

No overly annoying characters other than the absent parents. The leads themselves, although cliche in a way, you could argue are actually also quite refreshing. I like a green tea male lead. I like a female MC who is cute likes pink... more>> yet is resilient and is NEVER in the way.

I think the weakest moments of this novel are in the beginning and the end. Which may be the reason for the low rating. The beginning can feel written weak (although what degree is the trans helping or not idk) and quite cringy, however it really picks up I think if you lean into the two leads. Their personalities arent dumb and are quite interesting especially as you read on.

The ending is weak because it feels very obviously rushed. The couple feel like they're in a bubble at this point. However, by this point I like the characters enough to forgive the drop in writing quality and just enjoy the lol 14 extras written probably to make up for some of the rushed ending.

Maybe ppl don't like that the ML and MC are quite intimate with each other. But even then I don't find that overly done and just quite normal for teenagers. Kinda refreshing for a romance chinese novel honestly that there is skinship written.

Should you try this if you like decent fluffy novels? Yes. Imo <<less
