I made a game.

When I woke up, I was in that game.
When I was in confusion and embarrassment, the one who brought me into this world appeared and said:

“Oh, Creator. This is a game only for you, but it is also a ‘duty’.”

From early to halfway of the story, it was really good and the author's writing skill definitely improved so we can say the story is really top tier. But it went downhill in the second half. The story became boring and there's no tension. And also there's so many fragments that needs to be collected (explain later) that the author can't even handle anymore. The premise of the story is the MC created a game of his own but was summoned by a character (first monarch/strongest character) in the game stating that it's the duty of the creator to finish the game/change the world. The MC possessed the MC of the game he created. For him to go back to the original world, he must collect all of the 24 fragments of the heart of the fourth monarch. It can be really considered a top tier novel if not for the blunder that happened in the 2nd half. The author also explained the worldview so the readers can understand it completely but it's too much for me to explain it. There's so many forced plot and development that happened that made the quality of the story in undesirable way.

I don't know whether this will continue to stay good, since translations is up to 63 right now and I can't read Korean. But currently, it is a very interesting read.

'24 hearts' is a novel about a game programmer being isekai in his own game as the unlucky main antagonist, who happens to get betrayed by his comrades at every encounter with the protagonist. Judah Arch, the name of the MC new body, tries to prevent all these unlucky events through his own methods. In this world, he must collect all 24 hearts of the fourth lord of hell that comes in the form of equipment to return back to earth. He will be able to make savepoint with every piece of the heart he collects, much like the 'save and load' function on RPG games, During his journey, he will be making many comrades and possibly have romantic relationships with some. FYI the s*x scene is great with Tia, his first girl.

His cause of being isekai is suspected to be Xian, the first lord of hell. From what I've read, this world is in a continual loop that repeats itself - much like a game when the player resets it. Some of the higher beings such as the rulers of heaven and some lords of hell have become aware of this, so they are trying to break this eternal loop via Judah - since he's the creator of this world.

The pacing is a bit slow at the start, but I'm satisfied with it. There will be occasional time skips to progress through the beginnings faster.

Action scenes were described very well, not much fuss about it.

Worldbuilding is phenomenal, very well developed and is described really well.

I don't like harem, not at all, Judah hasn't become intimate with a second girl yet so I'm not too sure what it's like. But currently, the romance developed between his first girl, Tia, is very interesting.

Translations for this is top-notch on activetranslation. Activetranslation quality is usually not that great due to the fast release that they churn out every week, but '24 hearts' is in a whole league compared to their other novels.

The story is very interesting. The main character created an expansive game world, but then he finds himself as one of the characters in the game-turned reality.

Different from other stories with similar premise, the main character has a save/load function (limited) so he doesn't have to worry about dying, but the only way out of this loop is collecting the 24 hearts.

The story is well written so I definitely reccomend reading this

This is a good one actually. A mature protagonist, fleshed-out female leads, and an interesting plot.

The plot feels heavy most of the time and that adds to the tension of the novel, the emotions are heavy once in a while, it has gender equality, older love interests that's a plus, some implicit s*x scenes which are very much appreciated.

I guess that's the thing right, most of the novels unless they're actually smutted ones, hardly ever describe lovemaking, and I don't know bout you guys, but I feel this adds to... more>> the lack of tension, especially if it has a heavy plot.

Personally, this is kinda a first for me, so I rated this rather highly, but I guess, it depends on your genre consumption, if you're always reading the same type of genre/similar novels, once you pop out of your bubble, you either like it or hate and in my case, I loved it.

I'd say this is a pretty good read, but if you don't read R-18 novels a lot, this may not be too heavy for ya, but if you're looking for something different, then this is cool.

*I know some of you may say, ' Oh, it's got basically the same plot as "Never Die Extra", yes, BUT, the MC in NDE is emotionally weak, and it doesn't have many lovemaking descriptions, and it leans towards the R-15 side.*

Honestly, I'm not really good at this and don't know what I'm talking about, but this is in my suggestion list, so read it?? <<less

Not the best i've read, but still a goot waste of time if you're looking for a typical power-up novel.

The premise is novel, but that has little to no influence on how the strory progresses, imo.

Not good, but ok.

This is a pretty good read. The characters are well written and memorable. The MC hasn't gone out into the world just yet but the locations described make the book easy to visualise. The action is also very well written and the smut scenes are good too. All around a very good novel that I'd recommend

I think it's a pretty okay novel. I usually like when there is more focus on the mechanics or the adventure. Here it is more about an interesting premise and a developing cast of characters. I do dislike the smut though. Not that it is bad. But it does distract me from the story. But that is personal preference

This is more than worth reading. The emotions and dialogs feel natural. MC and others have a distinguished mindset which is always seen through their actions.

Even though there are a lot of romantic scenes and also a number of female characters around, this doesn't feel out of place. There is no Harem here (both by tags and by how the story develops till c76) and that is mostly a good thing.

As in most of fantasy novels, there is a lot of fighting and killing here. All of such scenes are... more>> written properly. All emotions, thoughts and actions are not lacking details and, therefore, it's easy to feel and imagine what is going on.

However, I personally find some chapters and moments completely unnecessary here. Although they certainly don't ruin the novel. They just feel like extra that is not that interesting to read and has no meaning.

Overall, I will give this novel 4.7 and I am waiting for the next chapters with anxiety. <<less

Usually a lurker but I’ve found this novel to be very engrossing with its unique twist on a common trope, so I had to do a review on it.

The main protagonist doesn’t feel robotic and the accompanying side characters, most of the feel fleshed out and not static.

For the story the premise is interesting and the author does a good job at introducing a twist on the typical trope that I found has worked so far.

All in all I give it a solid rating and would recommend a look into... more>> this novel, it isn’t a waste of time. <<less

EDIT: Translation was halted, and the story itself seemed to fall off a bit around ~100, though I'm not quite sure how to put it. R18 stuff definitely came more frequently than I expected, which distracted from the story, and their lack of significance is evident in being able to skip those chapters entirely and miss nothing.

Novel is a good read. When I started reading I fell in love with the setting, as it's got pretty much everything I wanted from a fantasy novel. Story has a good amount of... more>> depth as well. Character's are well written. If you want to get a rough outline of the plot so far, FabAsianZung's review does a pretty good job of what we've seen so far.

Translation quality is good. Update schedule is consistent.

Started reading before the R18 tags were added, and that definitely came as a surprise, but from what's been shown so far it's not the kind to negatively impact a read, and if you're not into that you can skim the chapter.

Not much else to say beyond that, nor do I want to. Personal experience has dictated paying too much attention to reviews is never a helpful thing, unless the rating and all reviews are aligned. 24 Hearts is something worth reading, so give a few chapters a read, and you'll know whether you want to continue or stop. <<less

I just want to know, why must the MC be the creator of the game? Just why?

the MC know nothing about the game he created, like a child that see the world for the first time,

OK lets accept that he don't know anything about His World, he spent years reading every book in the library of the city he is residing in but even so we did not see any change.

the MC was 20+ yrs old in his past life, his soul somehow was pulled to this game-world into... more>> a 7 years old body, but even so that did not change the fact that his soul is of that of a mature man. But it's a pity that maybe the emotions of the 7 yrs old dead soul affected him and turned him into 7 yrs old boy with a little knowledge about whats going on.

his first lover, that is his teacher, showed a little mature personality at first, I really don't mind an MC with an older lover but he must have the qualification to do so, but our MC have nothing! He will be happy if she call him cute, pretty, or hug him, he show nothing but a little kid personality, so why did she fall for this loser? Who know. And with time she started to change from a mature woman to a careless woman to a spoiled girl.

if you are here for game setting, then there is none, if you are here for harem then from tags I guess his only lover is his spoiled brat.. Teacher, and the rest are s*ave harem.

sorry for english <<less

well the idea of the whole story isn't really unique or anything given that a lot of other novels share the same concept as this, but there's something that caught my attention and that's the proper explanation made for the plot and different events to make sense. Not to mention the likeable personality of the MC where his actions are totally reasonable as he acts for the safety of his future knowing about his fate in the game and doesn't bother to hesitate moving forward while at the same time... more>> not appearing to be too cold hearted and is shown to still possess emotions like what a normal person do. Yet again, it isn't a perfect novel and there's some inconsistencies here and there, the recent developments too aren't that good which made me drop my evaluation of it ex.

Spoiler

the author killed off the major characters that are supposed to be the rival of the MC and he even went as far as to make the cause very nonsensical and anticlimatic

[collapse]

so as of now, we are in a shaky situation where new developments may or may not change the quality of the novel for better or for worse. Nonetheless, it's still a good novel in my opinion despite the mistakes that occured and i'd recommend it if you're into transmigration novels that are made to make sense to the readers <<less

Trust me, it will get better the more you read and im now hook up with this novel. Do consider to support the translators and maybe u can get extra chapters to read. An absolutely amazing series. The world is detailed, while the characters and plot is excellent. It feels a lot more natural than most transmigration stories, especially with their reasoning. I highly recommend this series.
