This story is about a harmonious couple, Yi Yun Zhai and Xiao Lan Xun. Their love story resembled the folktale Butterfly Lovers. Only difference is, they will have their happy ending. Or will they??

One day, Xiao Lan Xun suddenly left without bidding her farewell. Without knowing why she did that, Yi Yun Zhai is in his quest to find his true love. Three years later, after a long and painstaking quest, Yi Yun Zhai finally reunited with his love, the beautiful Xiao Lan Xun.

However, even with Xiao Lan Xun before his eyes, why couldn’t he feel the same affection he felt three years ago? Instead, an ailing man, Zuo Zhen Yu, attracts his attention more. This Zuo Zhen Yu contracted a weird disease said to be contagious. His face is damaged to the point it is more like a monster than a human face.

Yet, why couldn’t Yi Yun Zhai leave him alone??

Well, nothing to hate and nothing to love. It was ordinary.

Though I did not fall in love with any characters, neither did I get a stress ulcer or spit blood from anger; I guess it's just fine to mindlessly kill time.

I really did enjoy the reading. I was not really into the soft personality of the bottom person. It feel cliche, like it is all the softy that take the bottom role. But, I did really enjoy the plot that embed a realistic obstacle to it--homosexuality is a taboo. It become very hard when what you are attract to is against society's norm. I cried a lot at the last few chapters. It was so hard to see one of the character hurt in that way.

I remember really enjoying this story until the kidnapping and mean-spirited consorting. But after reading it again a year later, it's a really tiny part of the story, which overall is quite well paced and fast. And, aside from being one of lux's better translations, also just a pretty good story. The feelings are all there and the smut scenes are the kind that capture the imagination. It's a tremendously quick read and the objectionable parts such as dubcon and cruelty are quite fast. If you're particularly sensitive to nonconsensual... more>> scenes then maybe skip it, but the emphasis on pleasure and mutual desire was enough to make it work for me.

Again, it's the harassment and house arrest and ensuing eye-rolling scene that was a problem for me (and many others). But after that it comes together very nicely and feels good to read, so imo it evens out. <<less

One less star just because it was an expected mystery but to be honest I loved the story. It was somehow close to reality with expected reactions.

Translation was easy to understand so no need to worry about this one.

Anyway the ending was sappy... but it's not worthless to read this.

I really enjoy this story. Although it's short, it takes you on an emotional roller coaster and tells a great story with a twist at the end. I like how the uke isn't a typical beautiful character but the MC falls in love with him anyway. Also the mc's mistakes aren't just looked over and treated like they're nothing. He has to reflect and is scolded by his friends. I definitely liked how even though the ML was ugly and face was bandaged, the MC still fell in love. I love this story XD at first I hated it, with the whole angst bringing me down, like, ugh, and the mystery isn't really a mystery, just that it's some kind of fuel to roast the MC AHAH roast him X3 anyways, back to my review.

I love the love story and how loyal the MC is, it's really sweet and sappy, though a bit on the too-syrupy sweet side, but still nice. Some things that I'd advise you (especially if you're sensitive in the kokoro ?) is that you should... more>> read this in the safety of your room (or bed, under the blankets, like I did) and binge through the whole thing. <<less

I guess stories like this one is an acquired taste like fine wine. It depends on the reader and for me this hit the right spots.

It was too short! I could have gone for more but no matter, almost all the tangles were resolved and they were done beautifully. I guess the slight slips on the male lead's part will put some people off and perhaps will contribute to the low ratings but if you think about it, that situation has to happen in order for them to get to... more>> where they were and personally, I think if he did not react that way I would feel like his feelings were not that deep.

I think I cried the first time I read this story. Such a dedicated and selfless love. Unfortunately this kind of love makes one of the characters a push over who is willing to die for the other. I read the novel a long time ago but when I remember it I suffer emotionally... I am too emotionally sensitive, although I liked the novel I suffered while I read it... I can only say that on warning there is no deception, they told me that everything was too emotional and dramatic, and even so I read it, I cried, I cried too much... I do not know how I finished reading the novel... but well, it was worth it... I think?

A good short read.

MC fell in love with a woman who actually was a man!

A bit of angst and sadness but ultimately it was a happy ending :)

I found the MC reaction quite realistic albeit quite harsh when he found out the truth. (Poor zhen yu, that few chapters tugged at my heartstrings) ML is obviously the softer one, not a couple where both are really of equal strength but they love each other equally (once MC can accept his feelingz)

Totaly enjoy this!

It's perfectly written, only resolved around the MC (seme) and ML (uke), no need support characters LOL.

It's rare to read a short chapters of good novel, somehow I kinda feel sad (coz it's too short) and happy (coz it's short). Maybe it'll be more itneresting if the author wrote more of the families, and all those ploys and scheme. Nevertheless, this is sufficient and perfect in it's own way.

I read this a long time ago when I didn't have an account here, but now that I have one, I just had to come back and reread this story. It's lovely and short, but heart-wrenching and painful at the same time. Bless the author for this wonderful work.
