A beautiful outdoor streamer in the mountains, facing the camera and the live friends sending gifts but was caught by a one-meter-long python.

3,000 meters above the sea surface, Lake Logar is suspected of the appearance of water monsters, causing a large number of tourists to explore.

On the calm sea, a luxurious cruise ship is slowly moving forward. Visitors stood on the deck as the sea breeze blow. Suddenly, someone found that under the water behind their cruise ship, a black shadow hundred of meters long is following closely.

I f*cking love it

Its the best

Good points

... more>> -MC is smart and sensible (doesnt reveal himself knowing its dangerous at the beginning)

-PACE is crucial in this type of evolution novel and there is this near perfect pace, and there was a very good, legit reason for the time jump

-MC teamed up with humans, I was always looking forward to this and it came

-the minor characters have detail and backstory

-the plot ideas are all different and you will be hooked all the way to the end

MC has alot of character building but I feel there is this missing humph that makes a vivid impression (i couldnt really tell how the MC would react to the situation cause the time jump seems to have really changed the MCs character)

Pls read. <<less

The beginning is pretty slow and boring as there is not really any world building besides what you would know of a modern earth. However past ch 100 things start to get more interesting and the world starts to expand and some good plot starts to develop and at 200 things start hitting their stride and it becomes a genuine good story.

This is a vary good novel for people that want a change of pace with the somewhat repetitive human MC (or are like me and just like nonhuman MCs) might I add he gets incredibly bada#s in even early-mid chapters.

The story is always engaging besides a litle bit of repetition at the start but from then on moves at a vary good pace and doesn't leave a lot of lose ends besides a few passing charicters. Many pages of this book really got my heart beating and I find that... more>> as a must have mark of a good book.

This novel also has vary well organised chapter labiling with the author grouping chapters into mini segments such as (0/6) at the top to avoid torcherorus cliffhangers with each usually consisting of 6 to 7 per segment so you always have a comfortable place to rest at.

As someone that takes reading as my main pastime I heavily recommend this book if you have the time to get past the first 100 chapters.

My only complaint about this book being the infrequent typos of missing words or letters from seemingly rushed writing, however the word flow is good and whoever is translating this has a vary good understanding of the English language unlike some other novels were that can ruin a scene. <<less

Very good novel overall, I decided to give it 5 stars tough I would have given an 4.7-4.8 because I would have preferred a different ending, but it still has a good ending even if it seems a bit rushed, you should absolutely read it if you like monster MC novels, none of that [human transformation] spell bulls**t.

He has adapted to his lengthy lifespan and life in the galaxy as a terrifying monster rather realistically (he isn’t super attached to the human race and is not trying to be a hero and save everyone/end all evils/eliminate the corrupt government officials, doesn’t fall in love with a human who would probably age and die after he evolves and naps a couple times). Pretty good for a non human/humanoid MC book. LOVE THE GALACTIC TURTLE FRIEND!!!

This is the best monster evolution type story I've read in a while, MC stays a monster and doesn't gain a human form although he eventually gains the ability to communicate, mostly the same type of monster (with some small changes like color) and progression is paced very well. I personally really like the POV changes to the humans as it lets you know what's happening in the wider world/galaxy and they are placed really well, for example when the MC has to sleep for an evolution you get a... more>> couple chapters from the humans perspectives. There are very few recurring characters and side character interaction is mostly kept to a minimum, most actions the side characters make are in relation to the MC or his actions. Another good/bad point is the MC mostly abandons his "humanity" for the most part and doesn't really care when humans are dying unless it can benefit him, he actually acts like a monster. The MC is also smart and doesn't take unnecessary risks and isn't afraid to run away if he thinks he'll be in danger. There is some word count padding here and there however, taking a couple sentences to say the same thing, mostly isn't a problem with enjoying the story.

Translation quality is excellent as well, minor typos/confused words here and there but very rarely does it impact the enjoyment, overall I'd give the translation a 9.5/10 and the novel as a whole 9/10 <<less

Snake eats things, gets bigger, snake eats bigger things, gets bigger bigger. And probably destroys ecosystems while he's at it. That's like, 90% of this story.

There are some interesting points, like when he encounters humans, this one squirrel he meets, a few other things here and there. But these moments seem few and far between chapters and chapters of eating other animals.

If you are okay skimming past tens of chapters at a time to get to the interesting bits you might like this. But it's really a time waster at... more>> best. <<less

Title should be called Diary of World Devouring Serpent instead. This book only tell story about snek-man eating and eating and eating then evolve. First he goes here, wrecking the habitat, moving to other place, wrecking another habitat, and so on. Snek-man system has "Fame" category but it seems like he forgot, i've been reading up to ch123 and he only been seen about 2-3 times before migrating to the sea. I don't know if I will get the push to continue reading his adventure eating fishes in the sea.

I... more>> get that snek-man trying to avoid attention and binge eating in peace, but that defeats the purpose of writing an entertaining book itself. Author supposed to write something engaging to entertain reader, like some more exposure for the snek-man to spread sensation or fear, not describing his eating habits. Every chapters mostly consist of "animal A: xxx bio energy, animal B: xxx bio energy, animal P: xxx bio energy", if I play a drinking game with this book, I might be died to alcohol poisoning.

TLDR, it's boring. <<less

I came to the series with no expectations but agree with novaes observations.

There is no character development in this story, at least not up to chapter which I'm currently at, so for those who want to read "human mind - monster body" type of stories and see how the character adapts to their new life, this would be a bit of a downer, for the character is immediately in the mindset which he holds for quite a while. Well, there is the first fatal human encounter but he comes to accept and expect it practically right away.

Altho there is a progression of the character's status in the world, as in small - big, prey - pred, unknown and undisturbed - known and skeed, the writing feels shallow,... more>> words to meet the weekly quota, nothing of real consequence that would pursue him throughout the series. Human characters that are introduced are soon discarded and have no say over the MC, even more so the bigger he is.

Meh, overall a fine filler. <<less

This has that issue a lot of sci-fi / fantasy has where different races throughout space vvor across galaxies have the same language. It also has odd number values for strength.

Spoiler

The system is fun and the progression feels somewhat natural.

The issue comes from the odd mix towards chapter 500 of a cultuvation story.

Its really jarring to switch from interesting sci-fi with a nix of cosmic horror, to weird cultivation martial arts in space.

It's alright, I like the first part but it become full fantasy too fast. I'm just hoping we get the forest adventure much longer before we got the fantasy part.

There's nationalism but I can get behind that. The people is what I don't like. Everything about them is tr*sh maybe except some Chinese people.

Almost all of them just get shock and spook or acting scared when it's mostly with their consent. They don't think about the consequences

Anything that has to do with people especially with Panda Country, you know what's... more>> going to happen and who's good or bad.

I appreciate the author for 'trying' to he neutral but no. Give Sakura and baldy eagle a break.

Overall, this is the novel where you read cause you don't have anything to read. Not good not bad but mostly depends on people <<less

Yeah, this novel is good. The storyline is quite interesting, but quite repetitive. The MC is a snake, from start to finish, and don't expect him to be human, you will be disappointed. The ending is a bit too rushed, there are a lot of side characters who are "forgotten"

Overall, this is a good read to fill spare time. I give it 3.5 stars

This is a "transmigrated into critter with game system" novel, but it lacks direction. It quickly devolves into a feed, evolve, feed loop without much suspense. Rarely does the MC encounter a difficulty (except in the first 160 pages), and rarely is an adversary smarter than a rock. I read this until 2000 pages because the later parts reminded me of one of my favourite movies

where the author clearly stole a bunch of ideas.

I give it a 3.5, mainly because the author is very good at describing/observing/researching animal behaviour. I also _love_ the squirrel and turtle.

This is what is missing from my perspective:

Spoiler
  • A real story. What use are the reputation points? The author stops using the game system rather fast and doesn't care for the attributes either. The author doesn't plan ahead..
  • More adversaries. Especially smarter ones. "I am a galactic war veteran that has lived for 300 years, let me just attack from the front with all my units."
  • Depth of character when switching perspective
  • Have things go wrong. MC never is in any danger.
  • China numba one! Is pretty boring..

This series is actually hard to rate.

Its different than almost everything I've read, and it kept me going for quite some time.

There really is only one character though; the MC. Everyone else is just a temporary extra that may or may not be killed soon. To keep me interested for so long with just this, is impressive. So it has quite the solid foundation feel, and it all feels quite realistic.

It's almost like a documentary to start really, and makes you look at life in the wild more seriously. Wonder... more>> how many readers become vegetarian. Oh, if you watched Anaconda and cheered for the snake, you'll love this.

It also reminds me of big blockbusters such as Pacific Rim, which it heavily seems to copy after a time. Jurassic Park too.

The reason I stopped was the repetitiveness. The MC would eat to build up points, and evolve/rank up. Maybe get a higher bloodline after being known to the population more. Didn't like the fact that this was sprung on you out of nowhere, they should make it clear that's what the popularity points do from the start.

But yeah, this is basically the plot. Constantly eating, then evolving. Over and over. There isn't really a deeper meaning behind this other that the MC hopes to go home, but it's not confirmed this will happen yet. The time skips seem to be getting longer too between each evolution. Like I said, there is only the MC. The setting is also dynamic (Earth) Although you relate to him well, by excluding other characters you don't feel like you can relate to the world or care about it. <<less

It has a good monster evolution theme. The early chapters might be something you already read from novels where MC is a monster consuming something to get stronger like 'Tensei Slime, Re:Monster etc. But this one had bit different vibe 'cause the MC is in a world similar to Earth, it's great in it's own right.

The only thing you'll have to take note is that it's mostly just MC trying to get stronger so there's not much happening in the story. In short it gets boring since thingsp just repeats.... more>> I would've stayed even if it's a bit boring if there's some humour in the story or few fun accidents happening or maybe just the MC having a friend but well I'm probably asking too much so nvm. But overall a good novel to pass the time. <<less

The series is really good. Going from small evolutions from earth-like animals to Kaiju monsters, space battles and eventually crossing into cultivation. It's a refreshing read and a wonderful fusion fantasy. No romance, just ambition and the ideal of seeking growth, power and a way back home. The story is similar to swallowed star.. To describe the MC is like.. If swallowed star's protagonist combined with Doomsday from DC comics. Give it a read.

I speedrun read this novel in just one day. This novel is very good compared to other type monster MC at first. As far as the chapter I read, MC is still pure monster. There’s thing I still want to complain though. Even though this novel is pretty good compared to other, it’s very boring after 200 chapter above. MC already lost like 95% of his humanity which I understand why it happen. But it make me lack desire to continue read as the rest of the plot just basically levelling and levelling with no end goal in sight. MC here only have 1 true friend which is a monster like him, but that monster have no intelligence lol. He also have a human friend, which is a woman. If the author can handle the story, I think the novel will become fun enough. A pity though, the author just decided not to. As that woman approaching her old age, the author just simply make her disappear since I think the author dont know how to handle the rest of the story if the woman continue appear. After that woman dissapear, I drop the novel soon after that as there’s nothing worth reading anymore other than MC brainless levelling and destroying enemies one after another.

Oh yeah, I want to mention MC and that woman have friendship over 100 year. MC meet her when she was still a teenager until she become the elder of humanity. It make me sad the author have to forcibly remove her. MC show no reaction other than like, “oh, she’s gone... ” and continue his brainless levelling like wtf man. A pity though, story have great potential ahead.

I highly recommend this novel, this novel has the perfect balance in plot, survival, stability, and the flow of the story.

When I first this, it thrilled me, my heart almost burst in excitement everytime he hunt. Ut always shock the people and admire and fear him

It does not have any romance, The MC only focuses on getting stronger to survive!!

I’m in ch 45 and this novel is really good at give us a new perspective of things, I never thought that read about animal interactions in jungle without even dialogues would be this cool.

Funny thing is: now chapter is when MC start to truly interact with humans, and i’m blaffed with chinese writers capacity of make face slap and “you dare” young master dialogues even into a supposedly normal world equal to modern earth with noagic and towards an animal (MC, a snake).

Almost fallen from chair in laught and... more>> embarrassment (for the author) when I read ir the first time. <<less

review at chap 142

still a good pass time but I'm only gonna read till the end of the blue planet arc, cause it was said to be sh*tty after that... I'm still not there yet however

still pretty ok with the MC, though he can be a d*ck sometimes and I find it really funny on how he can't easily handle the pain of injuries even though it's always said that he can easily handle the pain of evolving

it uses human POV to make it not dull and add... more>> some sort of plot with his grinding and effects of his existence

though sometimes that POV is somewhat prolonged

also have to hand it to the author on how he pokes at Japan in a low-key manner

Spoiler

the part where a group of Japanese whalers was introduced is somewhat prolonged tbh, it's done that way to paint them in a bad light and poke at Japan in a way that people doesn't really notice it

here we a group that's going to sell whales in Hong Kong yet they're from a country like Japan

the struggles of the whales was so unnecessarily depicted and prolonged... could've just shown the ending of the hunt like what the author have done in the earlier chaps.. like with the hunter and jackals scene, the poacher with snakes scene and even the scenes where the MC hunts mother and child animals

their luck and ending was really something, to me it's pretty forced but others will attribute it to karma... it's really just to make them suffer, cause why would that fish go to an obstacle if it wants to escape... even if it has to go in that direction, it can just pass by them, it doesn't really have to attack them
