ML is more of a bully to FL at first but till 50 chapters their relationship is more of siblings. Just like during our young days some siblings bully each other. Even though he bullies MC, he still cares about her in sibling phase. MC fainted due to menses pain, he was like trembling asking housekeeper "is she gonna die". Yes he is a bully with a soft heart. He is black belly, very intelligent. He is one of the realistic character out there.

When it comes to romance, he is like a novice but he still pursues MC despite many rejections. He is patient in love, never forces MC unlike ori ML who kinda forced oriFL (who is transmigrated assistant of mc) .

When he gave MC his feelings, he gave them all without holding back. He is overbearing with yandre tendencies, even act as ill to have MC leave stage play as he hates her seeing going all over for half an year which MC found out leading to some retrospection on MC part on how much she is giving in this relationship. MC later realises to have ML change is hard but they both find a middle ground and work hard for making relationship work. MC does realise ML is proper villian to have his change overnight amd leave his possessiveness is hard which feels real. But ML never used any emotional abuse on MC or forced her for anything apart from acting ill.

Funny thing is ML son later comes out to be bigger Black belly. At age 2 he was acting all cute, innocent baby to have all MC attention and ML didn't even realize. It was ori ML that pointed out.

Yes ML has many imperfections , no one is perfect in this world. But reading all those cold, indifferent type with zero eq that author shows as "cute", I kinda find those guy irritating.

ML of this novel may not be best, but he gives the most purest of his feelings, he pits MC once acting weak but he never forces her rather on his own level he tries to change.

His character is vivid and deserves to be read. Just taking a different type of character into account, he is breath of fresh air in cn novels. He feels more real. He is yandre but still gives MC her private space.

Yes I forgot to mention ML is neuropathy. His thinking is filled with brain holes or how to pit people on many occasions.

OriML is a pe*vert who sexually harrasses and r*pes oriFL (who is also FL's transmigrated assistant), and the author expects us to laugh, because "haha the oriML is actually not as much of a gentleman as in the original story and whenever he's annoyed oriFL has to obediently let him use her body". I know it's not meant to be r*pe, and it's meant to be taken more like the woman complaining in Baby It's Cold Outside, like she actually does like it and she's just complaining to save face, but it is NOT comfortable to read and just very upsetting, especially since oriML is a side character who rarely shows up so we don't know anything about him beyond "if he's in public he's an annoying two-faced a**hole; if he's in private he's always doing something pe*verted to oriFL".

ML, on the other hand, is a genuine abusive a**hole. No "loveable yandere" here, he will genuinely make you pissed off at his antics. He's at least better than the oriML because he does get some character development as the story goes on, and when he's not being shitty he's actually amusing, but like the FL said, as soon as you start liking him he'll do something that reminds you that he's not a good guy.

Both FLs are the kind where they're generally likeable, but as soon as you start looking at the story critically they become brainless and annoying. OriFL seemingly only exists to support the FL or to be mol*sted by oriML (she literally never does anything else), and FL is an extremely passive person who enables ML's shitty behavior. At the start she seems like a headstrong, independent FL, the kind who doesn't let herself be bullied, but by the halfway point as the relationship develops she seems to lose both braincells and willpower and become just another Stepford girlfriend who has no goals other than to make her boyfriend happy.

Oh, and also, FL straight up says near the end that "I used to have dreams and career goals but I decided to give up on them because I realized it's actually really selfish to want freedom when I've got a hubby who might get antsy if I leave him too often." Are we sure this was posted in 2019, because this reeks of traditionalist "women must be housewives and careerists are selfish" ideals.

Promising FL to buy another puppy so their current puppy will have a friend. He promises to buy a girl and not a dog of a different species... and then comes home with a black cat--who he names "Little White" 😂

In one scene a business ally/rival schemes to get attention by helping ML cut his birthday cake. ML counters by flamboyantly kicking over the table holding the cake, which smashes all over the floor. Everyone turns to him in shock and he just says, "Oops. I don't think this cake can be eaten anymore. I'm leaving now." 😂 So overbearing!

At one point in time, he convinces himself that FL has a crush on him (surprise, surprise, she really doesn't). Anyway, he starts off by thinking, "Oh no! What should I do? I don't like her like that. But, well, she has good taste and it's obviously much better for her to like me then someone else, so I won't crush her little dream." He then proceeds to get pissed off when she isn't showing as much love /affection/attention as he thinks she should be showing to her crush. He secretly questions her in his heart, like "Your beloved crush is sick and you still just leave for school (after making sure he saw a doctor, took medicine and is comfortable) ?! Your dedication is really too pathetic!" Then later comforting himself, "She's worrying about me? Then she really must be in love with me!"

Even the 'control freak' male lead knows that if he does what he really wanted, their relationship will deteriorate for sure and, well, he uses underhanded measures. On the other hand, the female lead had wanted him to act in a certain way but the male lead doesn't and she got upset. But after she did some self-reflection, she realised that she was wrong as well since she can't expect him to change when the male lead had always been like this. For this respect, I truly think it is quite unique and very unlike other novels.
