She is intelligent, beautiful, calm, and professional. As the youngest chief forensic investigator for the past few years, her future was very bright. All of this, however, changed with a bizarre time-travel.

Her face was now destroyed. All right. But unexpectedly she was also a “gift” from a small kingdom! Her life deviated from the initial course. By her side would from time to time emerge bizarre and bewildering incidents. She makes painstaking investigations, unravels the layers of mysteries, pleads for justice on behalf of the living ones, and redresses injustices for the dead. There have been no vengeful spirits under her knife!

Just as everything has settled down, as she looked back, she was inwardly glad. One life, one world, two-people. Today’s mistaken marriage is only to be tied with you.

Honestly, I read this after reading Gu Yun's version (AMMM: A Generation of Military Counselor). I'm a bit disappointed with Gu Yun's version but I love Zhuo Qing's version much.

What I love the most ZQ's character. She's so clever and also clear headed. Her interaction with ML is so natural and sweet. They are suited for each other.

Spoiler

I'm just a little sad for Qing Feng. She lost her 2 sisters without her realizing it. I don't read QF's version yet so I don't know her ending.

Yan Ru Xuan is also a bit pitiful. She loves ML almost all her life but it's unrequited. I hope she could let go in the end.

Also, I'm a bit puzzled about how easy the emperor letting go of Qing Ling (Zhuo Qing) because I can see that he obsessed with her much in the earlier chapters. Is it because of Qing Feng?

Oh my GOSH!! Is this a different and riveting story. It has a solid plot and interesting characters. Its slightly confusing but I've always felt that whether a story is good or bad, it is at least a lil bit successful if it makes you feel strong emotions. This story makes me feel so many om gosh.

I love mystery and medical portions of this book and I love how the characters can make you feel relieved after throwing your heart into a blender. The ML is very likable and his... more>> little tricks make me literally go "HE HE HE" >:). The female lead is just trying to survive. And honestly, I would too if I were in her shoes. But I want cupid to throw a torpedo not an arrow and make them fall deep in love rn.

To be completely honest, this story is not what I was looking for and I get more and more STRESSED as I read. But I would recommend it because its really interesting and different. I think its pretty original and things go at a fairly good pace. Though, I did read somewhere that the endings of these stories are abrupt. ; ( The ML and FL are hecking cute and funny. I really wish this story had more fluff (which it might later on but right now I'm at a point in the story where I'm just biting my nails with every passing sentence).

Spoiler

(RANT:this is about the cause of my stress rn)

HIGHKEY THE EMPEROR IS A MAJOR DINGY ASS DUSTY b*tch. LIKE ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? For the sake of getting a girl you literally ruin her family and indirectly:somewhat directly force all (but 1) of the members to their deaths (and the other two sisters are other ppl reincarnated into their bodies). Is that love at all? His story about loving the FL (Qing ling) doesn't seem like a love story at all. He's just one sidedly obsessed with her. DISGOASTING !?- (maybe I missed a heart-wrenching part but the Emperor is a NAstY bit*h so still) Literally before you realized who she was at the banquet you were ogling some other girl!! And not only that you gave the sisters you didn't want to your friends? I feel so bad for Qing Feng (the real one of the sisters), my heart goes out to you girl. Like I get she's a fictional character but I can't help but admire how she sacrificed herself to that shit-headed emperor for the sake of her soft-hearted sis. (I get that this huge rant isn't even about the two MCs but I am just so upset abt it.) I can't convince myself to read the third book bc the emperor upsets me sm and Qing Feng deserves sm more.

but anyway I want our foxy fiend and his lovely coroner to hurry up and be lovey dovey im STRESSED YALL SEND GOOD VIBES.

I started reading it after finishing the mother and daughter books. Some of the elements from The Pirate's Daughter made me decide to read this story. The arrangement on how I read the books where based on how I tried to connect the characters in my head and this made more sense to me. I did not expect to enjoy this as much as the other two books (A generation of military counselor and The pirate's daughter) but curiously I did. The pacing was good and the characters became more... more>> vivid to me and I find myself more and more curious about the others.

So far I have a favorable impression about the whole series. And after concluding this story I will walk into the harem to see what the other sister is up since she piqued my interest from all her appearances on this story. Tsk tsk, the author is really sly.",) <<less

I recommend this novel if you're into reincarnation novels with a more gentle tone, like To Be A Virtuous Wife. The characters are somewhat light and like-able, yet pretty realistic. The MC doesn't have unexplained powers, but she has a good head on her shoulder and is eloquent, in a way. The interactions of the male and female lead is romantic and it's easy to understand why he fell for her. There's very little drama, as the leads are quite in-sync with each other.

case.

Spoiler

Something like "evil alternate personality kills people, cruel and horrible, like being possessed by a demon how scary!" is pathetic and unrealistic, not to mention horribly inaccurate. It's not even remotely plausible in real life. Using mental illness for cheap thrills, relying on the ignorance of the audience- it would have been (barely) readable if they made up a fake illness to explain it, but instead the author chose to rely on this kind of dirty trope.

Too disgusted to keep reading, if I knew this would be in the story I wouldn't have started it in the first place. <<less

I haven’t read the other books yet but this one is good. I love the FL and the ML. The only thing that stopped me from giving this 5 stars is the fact that the FL didnt tell the ML that she’s not from this world.
Spoiler

I also wished that there’ll be more epilogues lol

There are 3 translators on this story, two of whom I loved and one which I found unreadable due to sentence structure, grammar mistakes, and weird punctuation

I was editing the sentences in my mind to make them more understandable, which was exhausting and too much work to be enjoyable

WOW! I'll give a 6 or 7 rating if there is any.

This is one good and interesting novel. The length of the story is good too. Do not missed this.

Best ML.. Sly and foxy. I like the author brought out the 21st century personality of the FL.

Mo Bai is cute too....

Hope that could be made into a drama...

Transmigration. Strong female lead. Romance. Smart couple. Mystery & Crime solving. All the things I like is basically in here so how can I not love this??

Zhou Qing is actually my favorite lead out of the 3 sisters in this series, well although I love Gu Yun too and she's definitely the character you'd love & root for, I liked Zhou Qing calm & chill side more. I also liked the lead couple's chemistry here more. Lou Xi Yun is our guy. Definitely the type we'll all love, handsome, smart,... more>> talented, sweet & gentlemanly towards our FL. Su Ling is just too unreasonable at times and with Yan Hong Tian I am still off about him

Spoiler

(probably because of his horrible 1st impression and attempted r*pe on Qing Ling)

Anyways I believe this is the best one of the three in this series. Definitely a fun read. Although I believe there's parts that could've been explored or explained better, its not uncommon in this types of novels so I would not be too nickpicky about it. <<less

One of best transmigration story so far! I also have read the other two books (A Generation of Military Counselor and Mysteries in the Imperial Harem, which has intertwined story).

Although I love the 2nd book the best, I like this second. The story line has shorter span time than the other 2 books, but still enjoyable. The story gets more expanded and explained in the other 2 books so you have to read them as well to get a perfect ending.

Best transmigration story ever..

I love how the FL and her friend, Gu Yun, showing their 'real-self', instead acting as the real host of the body.

The ML also nice, to understanding of her (FL) intrest/ passion/dedication toward Forensic Pathology.

The only thing that I quite unsatisfied with the ending, the author abruptly end the story just like that... hehe

1. how did she encounter mu*der everywhere in the early chapter- its like detective conan curse!!

2. I might miss it at some point, but the Mu Feng case gave me a bad aftertaste... what happened to the missing hearts? I find that the lack of detail on this part bothersome.

3. Qing Feng was doubtful in the end. I think that it was wise if the both of them at least let her know, but I guess not. She was a bit pitiful to me.

I finished the other two series, and quite satisfied on how it completed each other... Heading to the "epilogue" books now. <<less

The 1st story I read from the three sister collection or from the two modern era souls that had transferred to the two dead bodies of the the two sisters. Love how the MC story connected with other two MC characters from the other story. Since I not found of romance, the love story was too much to me and I think it can be a little bitter than this. Still many questions not answer like how the detective and forensic women transformed? Is their a connection in the modern... more>> era mu*der case with the old era? Will they transformed back or no since the ending for this story doesn 't show a real ending?. I hope the other stories answer these questions or I will be disappointed and wish to rated the story lower than this. <<less

This certainly is an interesting read. I love the FL’s character. She’s very calm, witty and sharp tongued. The ML has a foxy and witty character which greatly complements the ML.

The plot is good enough and it’s interesting to see how the FL unravels every mystery behind the killings. I’m also offered another POV besides Gu yun’s story (military counselor). However, I would say that the mysteries aren’t really deep and well constructed so it barely manages to dabble towards the thriller and mystery genre. I would say that it’s... more>> a light mystery at best.

the FL and ML interaction is far better than the interaction between the Military counselor which was almost non existent (and frankly a bit forced, now that i’m thinking about it). But again, the interaction I feel like is still a bit lacking and is basically a tease compared to other novels. It’s basically focusing on the mysteries while their relationship is mentioned on the side. However, I feel like it’s still good enough to keep you going.

As much as I hate to say this but the biggest downfall of the story is the translation. I know that most translators are barely paid to do this or probably do this for free, but as a reviewee, i’d like to stay true to my thoughts.

the first few chapters were honestly translated well, but I started noticing the translation going south about 2/4 of the way. It’s more of how the words are put together rather than the grammatical aspect of it. The words are put together awkwardly and it greatly impacts the humor, wit and sarcasm of the story (which is one of the best points of the novel IMO). And I know some readers get discouraged in reading a badly translated novel.

This is more of a 3.5 rating for me, I took half a point because of the translations, but I didn’t want to give this an official 3 star rating because given the offsets of this novel, it’s still very much an interesting read. <<less

I'll be updating this review latter, since this is less of a review and more of a note to myself. I'll try to finish it after testing, but for now -

If anyone else was as confused as me when they saw the translations and numerous translators, here:
Ruibelle: Chapters 1-15 (Ongoing translations?)
Clover's Nook: Chapters 1-8 (Discontinued translations)
Rotten Translations: Chapters 9-29 (Discontinued translations)
Nutty: Chapters 9-112 (Finished translations)

An idependent, cold, medical examiner for a Female Lead. An intelligent and sly Male Lead.

Zhou Qing (Qing Ling) and Lou Xi Yan are one of my favorite couples. Good story line with intriguing cases. There are some loose ends, which are covered in the sequel books, but the overall plot will keep you interested. The understanding and mutual support between the main couple is my favorite part of the book.

Best of this 'mistaken marriage' series. Time traveling, romance, comedy, not overtly long (no filler chapter). The development of romance is within reason, not enforced by writer as in many romantic novels.

One caveat. MC is the outstanding forensic doctor. In real world, it's absolutely impossible. Learning to be general doctor takes time, 6-8 years at least, after finish high school. Learning and practicing to be the specialist in forensic needs another 3 years.

But it's novel. We must accept what's impossible as norm for the MC. Any MC. Time traveling is... more>> absolutely impossible, so it's OK to be outstanding, know-all, forensic doctor at the age of 24.

Writing is good. Translating is superb. You won't lost anything reading this novel. <<less

ROWG suite my taste more than the prequel book^^ I just love the main OTP. The interaction between them so interesting. My soft spot for "2nd lead shipping" didn't occure while reading this book. The other lead is so frustating. Another good point in this book is related to forensic scene in ancient times. ZQ really did well performing it^^. Can't wait to read how the story end.
