Lu Deng is not a cannon fodder himself, but his mission is to save the miserable cannon fodder.

A businessman who lost in a business game. A teenager who kept silent under school violence. The actor whose road to fame was ruined by cyber violence. An unknown man who was misunderstood until the day he died.

There can only be one protagonist in every world, so fate hides in the corner sending it’s cold tent**les toward the innocent.

Some people stay silent, some choose to compromise, some are unwilling, and some are fulfilled.

There should always be individuals to hug them.

So Lu Deng went to hug.

Then people will not let go.

Very, very cute and heartwarming!✨

The settings MC works in is more on the plotline's side story, centering on a side character who helps spark the main plot, but was always understated and ends miserably. To sum it up, it's about how an introvert cub while working to be a good golden finger, or a nice god mother got attached to the big guy who does good things, but got miserable ends. (AKA MC's mission target to be backed, Mr. Cannonfodder!~)

As the little guy help Cannonfodder-san from jumping into the... more>> pits voluntarily or helplessly. We watches as MC slowly changing into a better, stronger person (mentally, as he's super strong physically, so much that ML hurts his waist pftt. So pitiful, LOL.)

Ps. Although the conflict in the middle part of each worlds during which MC and ML are avoiding pits, the scene got prolonged a bit too long that I'd feel lazy if I'm the translator, but--- overall I was satisfied with it!

This is a good fuwafuwahaha, try it!✨✨✨👍👍👍 <<less

To me, it starts out interesting. The fact that our MC isn't taking over a host in each world but rather being a new character he can decide the personality of. (It's on page 1 so I don't think that counts as a spoiler).

I love when there's little drama between the main characters.

Words can't express just how much I love this novel! It's so heartwarming and always brings a smile to my face! This novel should be read for the romance between the MC and ML.... more>>
Spoiler

They get together in the first arc and you can see them develop. In my opinion, the fact that they got together early doesn't take away from the story at all. They still have lots of baggage to get through and you can see how their relationship grows and develops

[collapse]

To the people reading, I recommend reading this on Chrysanthemum Garden, since the translations are a lot better (in my opinion) than the ones linked here. I couldn't get past reading the first few chapters, but I found this on Chrysanthemum Garden and was able to continue with no problems.

Next, only read this if you're interested in reading lots of fluff. Throughout the many arcs, the center stage is the romance and interaction between MC and ML. I love this in that you can see how they fall in love and how their relationship develops They're so cute together.
Spoiler

The first arc has a lot of action in my opinion, but the second arc has so much amazing fluff.

[collapse]

There have also been complaints about how the MC isn't doing his job correctly. I disagree, since you also need to consider the situation the MC finds himself in. For example, in the first arc MC has a very weak body and ends up being constrained by it at times. He also doesn't go into the world with complete omnipotent knowledge. Since the person he's protecting is cannon fodder, he literally has to draw his own conclusions with the very limited info he has. He also does his job without being extremely invasive regarding ML's business, which is seems a lot more preferable than the other option (sticking extremely close to ML at all times).

He also acknowledges that he can be the ML's weakness, because no matter how capable MC is, he is still vulnerable to things like weapons. He has a deep trust and understanding with the ML and does what ML tells him to do in serious times.
Spoiler

For example, when they're being chased by people trying to kill them, ML hides them, tells MC to get out of the car, and MC does without any complaints, and then the ML continues getting chased. It turns out ML had his own plan regarding it and was able to survive just fine. If MC had insisted on staying, he might've caused even more trouble bc the ML's contingency plan might not be possible for two people.

[collapse]
I honestly really like the MC in these cases.

One of my favorite parts of this is all the characters shown here. The ML is amazing and has so many emotions and actually seems very real, the MC is also the same. Someone said that they were 1-D or 2-D and bland, but I don't see that at all??? Their interactions are always so heartwarming and the romance is so on point.
Spoiler

For instance, the second arc doesn't really have much conflict, but I find it stunning in how both the MC and ML's personalities shine through. The portrayal of the ML in those chapters had me in love, and their pairing seems so real.

[collapse]

This is flat out one of my favorite romances in the novels I've read. They also aren't op at all, and MC isn't some kind of naive idiot, nor is he a Gary Stu (seriously, I don't understand some of these reviews at all)

The protagonists in the worlds they enter are also actually fit to be protagonists and actually have brains (unlike in many other novels). From what I've read, the side characters are honestly treated well, and I find the system adorable. It obviously cares for MC while being a newbie to its job. <<less

I love seeing both the like and dislike reviews because I honestly think there's nothing particularly wrong with this novel, but I did drop it because I knew I couldn't stand it.

I love seeing people who genuinely like and enjoy this novel, I think there's definitely an audience for it somewhere, sadly it's not for me but I still wish this novel the best.

For me, the main reason I decided to drop it is mostly because it's too slow and boring. I don't see chemistry between the main pair, it... more>> doesn't appeal to me in that way personally. But this is all subjective opinion, certain people might like it, so I wish you the best if you want to try out this novel.

When reading the synopsis I thought at first it'll be interesting if the MC collected cannon fodder he'd saved in a kind of platonic/familial unit, that travels along with him. Sadly it wasn't the case, so after thinking about it, I realized there's nothing really appealing me to keep on reading, and if I forced myself to finish for the sake of completion, I might end up hating this novel instead. <<less

it is a kind of fun story. There is many fun instances but many parts felt streached. I mean author explained repeatedly how MC or ML felt. That annoyed me. This is not my cup of te. People who like this kind of explaination would love this n those who don't like this type would not. This is not my cup of tea

This novel is pretty straightforward. There are no mysterious secret identities, no hidden backgrounds or hidden agendas. So you can read this with your brain turned off.

There is no real tension, big challenges or real danger either. They would return to the system space if they passed away in a mission world so you get kinda blasé about any threats if there were any at all.

All the missions went smoothly whether because of plot armor, the coddling of the MC's golden finger relatives and system who don't mind bending... more>> the rules for the their precious baby MC. Basically, the MC is a huge Gary Stu who while not s*upid, lacks a bit of common sense and EQ, but still succeeds at everything since everyone coddles him, ML included. In fact, the ML probably coddles him the most to the point that at times you forget that the MC's task is to save the ML cannon fodder and not to distribute dog food.

Generally, you can't take this novel seriously. There are a good number of plot holes and unrealistic aspects be it in human behavior or settings that I consciously had to overlook. Most if it can be summed up to be due to the MC's Mary Sue halo.

That said, it feels like the novel's only purpose is to entertain and to feed the reader dog food. The plot moves fast and the relationship between the main CP does, too. In fact, I have no idea how the two fell for each other so hard and so fast. It's a whirlwind romance like Romeo and Juliet where they fell for each other fast and would go through hell for the other. I, as a pessimist/realist when it comes to romance, am confused and amused by the unrealistic relationship progress.

The MC acts like a newborn chick that has imprinted on the ML, the first one outside of family who treated him with unconditional care and affection. Him being constantly described as pure, obedient, quiet and untainted from worldly affairs as well as being called a child/small animal makes me often forget that he isn't a child being groomed by an adult. It didn't help that he had no idea about kissing and s** in the beginning.

Luckily, the ML is not of the creepy kind, although a bit fatherly. He dotes on the MC, coddles and takes care of him. I would consider him a green flag. However, it still feels like an adult dating a minor, despite the "minor" actually being of age already.

I struggled a bit finishing this novel, especially at the saving the manager arc. The Mary Sue halo was way too strong there and the MC's actions started to annoy me a bit. No idea why. But I am glad that he got less annoying after that. <<less

This is a junk food novel, not much to it and will give you cavities. The beginning arc was great, even if it was a little hard on the heart, the fluffy 2nd arc was a nice a follow up, but then it goes downhill.

The author wrote the first arc very well and the 2nd arc, though not as good as the first, still had some quality and gave the heart some needed sugar after the first. From the 3rd arc on the story and the character set ups start... more>> to become muddled and there was a drop in quality. It felt more like the author was just trying to turn out chapters with out much thought.

It does have it's very sweet moments and there were times I was smiling like an idiot at parts, but it didn't have that must continue read feel to it for me. Maybe it was too repitative.

I may come back and read the 2nd half of the book later as I don't hate the novel, but for now I'm giving it a break.

The first translator and second translator did really good, haven't read from the third yet so can't comment. <<less

Don’t read this if you’re very depressed. It will go either of two ways, it makes you happy reading about their simple exchanges of love, or it makes you avoidant of reading further because it reminds you of your misery. The story overall: I’d say it’s still a 4/5. I can understand what people say about their love being rushed. While it does sort of just start off fast with their development, I’d like to chalk it up to the fact that both characters are somewhat devoid of love in... more>> their pasts and together become very easily infatuated which leads them to this sort of incomprehensibly unparalleled love that transcends their world-hopping. Is it all that realistic? No. But it’s fiction, and once you get over the initial discomfort (for me, my overwhelming depression making this a hard read) with either your own suspension of disbelief or the emptiness it brings to read fluff sometimes, it’s very eloquently translated and is beautiful in the sense that it’s a bit idealistic in the nature of their “love”. But again, if the author says they love each other incomparably, then they definitely do, even if it’s not entirely fleshed out the way some people want. This is a very peaceful read regardless, lol. <<less

This novel is absolutely fantastic, for me that is. The sweetness is exploding and the story is pretty great.

With the addition of funny moments, making me laugh and cry at the same time, and the funny misunderstandings, can make up my day.

I really like these kinds of stories, especially sweet ones, (but not to the point where there is only sweetness and forced love).

... more>> The moments when MC breaks away from his shell slowly, due to the kind and gentle ML really makes me cry from joy.

I really want to thank everyone, especially the author, the translators and others who participated to make this novel, I thank you....❤️❤️❤️ It's really so good <<less

This novel deserves 3 stars in my opinion.

The aim/goal of the MC was very interesting and unique to me which made me want to read it.

However, the story was really boring to me. It took me much effort to go through arc 1 and finish it as it was really slow paced; the action/danger was very lacklustre imo even when MC was trapped in a poisonous underground cave (or whatever you want to call it).

I thought that maybe I would get to see more action in other arcs or at... more>> least comedy or drama but I didnt so it felt even more tedious just to get through each chapter (even making me wonder when I would reach the end so that I coyld move on to something more exciting) which I don't think would be the mindset you want a reader to have.

I will admit that the romance is very fluffy, cute and adorable. I really liked the ML because he was just really like a gentleman and treated MC very respectfully and equally.

MC is a bit dull and not as interesting to me but he's passable.

The world building is just backdrop for their romance so don't expect much plot.

Overall, it's a light read for when you just want to heal yourself from some heavy angst or something. Reading this to relieve your boredem probably isn't the best tho. <<less

Just finished up the third arc. I like this novel a lot. There's a few twists to the quick transmigration system that are really interesting, and the relationship between the MC and ML is very sweet. It's also been completely consensual so far, which is rare. The first arc was good, the second arc dragged a bit, and the third arc was hilarious.

Because there's just too many transmigration novel. Your view and taste is really subjective. To me this is not typical qt novel. Instead of being with protagonist of each arch, the MC is assigned to help the canon who died of injustice and miserable. This is fresh storyline to me.

I have to agree with some review of after a few arch, the story seems repetitive but it was not boring at all to me.

I especially love the system and MC relationship. Too adorable.

I have yet to finished this novel and... more>> I really curious how it's going to end. <<less

I really liked the first two arcs of the novel, but from the third one onwards it just became dull and boring. The MC will transmigrate into the body of a minor "villain" character and the ML will magically trust MC with his life the moment he looks at MC's face. Because of how big and shiny and pure his eyes look.

Spoiler

First arc: a student ✔

Second arc: a teacher ✔

Third arc: a spy sent from an enemy organization to monitor the ML's actions. The ML willingly invites the MC into his home/safe haven❓

Okay, maybe this is still understandable since even if the ML drives the MC away the organization will just send another spy or find another way to monitor him.

Fourth arc: a paparazzo robbing ML in front of his house. The ML willingly goes into the car and drives them to a hotel when he finds out the MC can't drive. And he checks them into the same room and they end up sleeping together❓❓❓

And when MC buckles his belt, gives him an eye mask, takes pictures of him and even makes him breakfast in the morning the ML doesn't question it at all? When he had extremely bad experiences with the paparazzi his whole life? I know the ML has instincs from the previous worlds but this is just too much for me.

[collapse]

You will like this novel if you like mindless fluff, but it's not the best novel you can read if you're here for the plot. Don't be deceived by the quality of the first two arcs. It only goes downhill from there. <<less

Reviewing from the second arc. So far, I really love both MC and ML. ML is not the usual male lead who are unreasonable, obsessive... the one you always read. The pacing is good, it is fast but on reasonable way.

I really like how heartwarming it is.
