‘Mapping’.

For his 15th birthday, Note is gifted this inferior version of the skills ‘World Map’ and ‘Area Map’. In other words, a tr*sh skill.

Soon after, Note’s childhood friend obtains extremely powerful skills and due to his self-loathing, reluctantly decides to part ways.

Having driven away the childhood friend he secretly had feelings for, he lives his days in misery while trying to earn a daily income through adventuring.

“…We need that skill of yours.”

However, his life changes when a young man named Jin approaches him.

This is a story of a boy named Note, who—with no cheats or skills of his own—joins a party full of the strongest cheat-like skills and sweats, fights, and struggles his way to dungeon domination. A story of that kind of growth.

Status: v8 afterwords
When people experience their coming of age cerenomy, they gain 3 skill slots filled with 3 or less kills depending of their slot cost. Our hero gained skill which uses all 3 slots. Skill he gained is famous for being the worst and for good reason. He felt hopeless until he meet person who found out how that skill could be used. He does not gain sudden power up but he is determined to change himself while everyone overestimates his skills. He is always the one most suprised about what... more>> he could do. It is just that his skills are highly situationals. Volumes 4 and 5 were the weakest, but rest after those make up for those. During those two volumes character died which caused story to go way differently from what I wanted. But without it, story would have been worse.

This story is okay. The main character is great because he isn't perfect, but he's starting to grow into a better person. But this is hindered when you think about the skills in this world. Sure, learning skills isn't as good as being born with them in this world, but you can improve. Personally, if he had gone to improve himself, gained some small but still helpful skills and then been abandoned and spiraled into self-pity, it would make more sense. You would still have him need to get his... more>> sh*t together but not be entirely useless. I actually enjoyed when the main character surprises them by having learned three skills at once. The harem aspect isn't great but honestly if they were to stick with the 2 girls (I know they won't), it would be fine. Overall It's an OK series so far. <<less

In my opinion, this novel is amazing with distinctive plots. I was hooked on this series since reading the manga. Even though comparing to manga, the novel was a little different but I think it is still very worth reading. MC character has his background described pretty clear and reasonable.

This novel definitely deserves at least a 4.0 point rate so I will give it a 5.0 at the moment, hoping it will attract more reader:))
