As the most beautiful omega from the Silver Moon clan within the last decade, Yu Lan was abducted as a young child.

When he was about to be sold to a wealthy businessman at the age of 22, he managed to escape.

Barefoot and running desperately.

-And ended up crashing into the arms of a man.

When Yu Lan first met Shao Mingyu, the man was handsome and elegant, and with a calm expression, he said to him, “I won’t touch you, come back with me.”

So Yu Lan was ignorantly picked up by the man and moved into his manor.

He didn’t know why the man took care of him, but he hid his affection within his heart. He obediently took inhibitors on a regular basis, not wanting to lose himself during his heat and do something… something terrible to this man he had a crush on.

Until one day later, when Yu Lan wanted to give himself an injection again, the man clasped his wrist and asked in a hoarse voice, “Do you still need to use inhibitors?”

Shao Mingyu gazed at him, his voice low and soft, “Little grape, don’t use it anymore, okay?”

Yu Lan’s eyes widened.

As the man’s kiss fell, the inhibitor fell from his hands to the floor.

Soon after, news of the Shao family’s young master, the top alpha that everyone was paying attention to’s, marriage spread like wildfire.

It’s a good read (somehow cliche but I like how communicative they both are with each other

I read other reviews saying how unreasonable it is that MC went with ML, ML “abducted” MC...

But really, it’s foreshadowing of how MC and ML actually knows each other before. MC also went with ML because he knows that even if it’s a weird situation, it’s the best choice he has (the reasonings are very reasonable)

I also like how when MC realized that he ... more>>

loves ML, he got motivated to work harder so that he will deserving of liking/pursuing ML.

I also like how he understands that growth doesn’t come instantly so while he is a hardworker, he knows how to rely on ML

I love ABO and MPreg and usually check out the stories that fall under the said tags. I've known about this story for quite sometime but avoided it since it wasn't complete yet and the summary gave me the wrong impression.

Saw it was completed and the latest reviews were rating this pretty highly despite the overall mid rating.

Gave it a try and made myself go beyond my usual 10chapter DNF rule. Ended up DNFing at Ch.24. Not giving this a rating yet until I come back to finish, because maybe... more>> in other circumstances, I might be in a better mood to read it? Just to be fair I guess lol.

It's not bad. There are definitely way worse novels out there. I was pleasantly surprised with the first few chapters and how the the story starts, implying space/futuristic settings.

But then it went on and I found myself at the point where I was basically pushing myself to read. I kept putting it down. Which is already not a good sign.

I kept feeling uncomfortable with MC and ML's relationship despite being a degenerate who occasionally enjoys some very sus reading materials. There aren't any blatant red flags, besides the premise and I'm not gonna dig into that. It's really not that deep so why bother.

But I kept getting put off lol. Maybe I'll come back to this another time. <<less

This is a very, very badly written novel.

I was not looking for a realistic representation of a victim of a human trafficking. I did not want realism here. I expected to read a fluffy h/c story.

This story starts when MC alerted ML that he is being trafficked so they called a police. I expected some handwaving over "why MC should go with ML and not return to his family". What I received instead was a middle finger: ML proclaimed "He's coming with me" (direct quote here) to MC and the... more>> police officer. And that's it. The police officer hands MC over like some thing and "finders keepers" apply here. Oh, ML didn't bother introduce himself before this. Like I said, no high expectations here, but come on, he is a trafficking victim, at least try to persuade him. Or maybe invent some reason why he should go with ML.

You will never quess what happened on the SECOND DAY of MC staying in the ML's house. Temporary marking happened. Slow burn? Developing relationship between characters who are basically strangers at this point like it was promised in the description? (You know, this part: "Until one day later, when Yu Lan wanted to give himself an injection again, the man clasped his wrist and asked in a hoarse voice, "Do you still need to use inhibitors?" - lies, every single word is a lie.). Not to mention that MC is a victim of s*x trafficking. Well, at least ML asked for consent before marking him, - naively thought I before MC asked "Will... will I get pregnant?". Does this consent matters when he doesn't know what he is agreeing to? And yes, it is not a surprise that MC, who was captured when he was 6 yo and literally kept in a cage for 16 years doesn't know things. (He can't even read). But it is MLs reaction to this question that was the final nail in the coffin. "You won't.". He can't be bothered to explain what they did and what effects there will be (and yes, marking does affect MC's judgement). He just answers the question and off he goes on his merry way.

There are others small things that bothered me (like MC smiling "like a little angel", ugh). But this are the biggest ones.

Some might say that 4 chapters is too little to form a view on the plot of the story. That might be. But with this characterisation? This attention to details? This pacing? Subtlety (your IQ have to be negative to miss the fact that ML knew MC in the past and was pining for him all this years. Yes, they met when they were children (6 yo and 12 yo), and yes, it is creepy, but I digress.) ? I don't see how it would be better. <<less

I read half of the novel then stop cause it wasn't my cup of tea.
Spoiler

The romance happened too fast, the process of falling in love isn't shown because right from the get go ML is already "in love" with MC, and MC is already all " he (ML) saved me from the trafficker and for no reason at all even tho I don't know him I'm going to live with him" at the first two chapters.

Pacing of the novel is too fast, and by fast I mean really fast! Within just a few chapters (of the raw, not the translated chapters) :

    • ML is already in love with MC
    • MC is suddenly asked to live and starts living with ML even tho he don't know ML right from the first meeting
    • MC gets his heat thing and ML is all like "do you trust me?" to which MC obviously say "yeah" even tho this is only the second day they meet each other. This leads ML to bite MC's gland with a temporary mark. Cause some sh*t that I'm too lazy to write.
    • after this "marking" MC is all pink feeling towards ML (me: wtf *gives the stink eye*
      )
    • MC being held captive for 16 years is 22ish yrs old so he is illiterate but worry not ML finds a tutor for him, but within what seems to be only 2 class session and about half a month of MC being rescued MC is already able to read and stuff
    • small cannon fodder is jealous of MC cause of ML (why else *roll eye*) with the typical reasons like most c-novels of ML ain't like this to other people so why he like this to you type of crap. This leads MC to start working at this cafe?? Even tho it's only been 2-4 weeks since he started to live with ML
    • ML gets set a blind date and MC is jealous. Even tho it's plainly obvious to everyone that he knows nothing about ML.
      [collapse]
there's more but too lazy to write.

Yeah this novel is a bummer.

The flow of the novel wasn't well put together with the fast pacing of the novel and fast romance.

I give this novel a 1 star.

This is a really cute novel to read after going through some tragic novels. Unlike most omegaverses out there, the ML actually respects the MC and doesn't treat him as someone lower than him. There is very little dogblood drama in this one and most of the "misunderstandings" are resolved relatively quickly since they actually talk to each other. Overall the mc's path in romance and in his career is smooth sailing with little to no bumps on the road.

However, that's not to say the novel is perfect:

Spoiler

The backstory isn't really great. From the beginning, we see that the ML has been searching for the MC for a very long time. Later on, when the backstory is revealed, his devotion for searching for him for 16 years seems unrealistic. They met when they were kids and they played together for a few hours; it's just some kid stuff. Then he gets kidnapped soon afterward and he meets mc's mother who tells him about the MC. Somehow their time together got him to spend a lot of time trying to find him, which makes no sense to me. Even the MC is thinking about how weird the ML is to go through all this for him. I guess the fact that they didn't use the "love at first sight" trope made it a bit better. It wasn't that big of a deal but I wish the author made it a bit more realistic.

[collapse]

Otherwise, the novel was just fine. I kind of wish they expanded the novel a bit more to see how the silver moon clan got inspired by the mc's actions, but it is a decent read and it's good at the fluff it goes for. This is the sort of novel you would read the pass time. <<less

While I might have felt bad for MC and his circumstances, this is really poorly written and the plot is so shoddy, it falls apart as soon as you apply any sort of logic to it.

MC was locked in captivity for 16 years by human traffickers and could go for days without speaking. Yet, somehow, he almost completely rehabilitates and is exposed to the outside world within 3 months. In truth, anyone coming from those circumstances would need months, if not years of treatment before they become a functional human... more>> being. It seems as if the author only wrote those circumstances so that they could create a malleable MC whose personality is fluid. This results in an MC who is sometimes wildly OOC and just pulls deus ex machina out of nowhere.

Spoiler

Like when ML's brother tried to r*pe him, MC randomly turned into a powerful black belly and threatened to kill ML's brother, but this lasted for all of for half a minute before ML came to save the day. It was super out of the blue and never happened again.

Then, later, MC just happens to have hidden godly modeling skills despite having never encountered 99% of the situations he's modeling for.

[collapse]

As for ML, he's gentle, rich, and... well that's all he's got going for him. MC understandably falls for ML as ML is his savior. ML falls for MC because he's obsessed from a short encounter they had when they were children. Of course, since ML is a power businessman, there's a bunch of random cannon fodder who obstruct them at every step of their relationship. Hell, I practically expected cannon fodder jump out at them during their wedding.

This is a happy ending, but I don't feel happy to have read this novel. Just go ahead and skip this one, it's not really worth it. <<less

This is so full of fluff! What a cute happy ending. There are some small dramas but they get resolve pretty quickly.

They have 2 adorable kids in the extras, a boy and a girl!!! So cute!!! The boy has MC's last name while the girl has the ML's last name.

I like the plot and fluff, but the novel has downplayed Yu Lan's mental illness a lot.

Spoiler

After being held captive for 16 years, going through mental and physical abuse since before the age of 6, why is Yu Lan no experiencing more PTSD or other mental illness? The only time when I felt that the trauma felt real was when he realizes that other "Yu's" were doing things that were forced upon him voluntarily and felt disgusted and went through a bad relapse the following night.

Other than that time, the rest were not realistic. For example, when Yu Lan had a PTSD relapse (the thunder), but the only thing Yu Lan did was crouch down and feel "saddened". Just by being near the MingYu (which I still don't understand how Yu Lan can easily trust someone within the second he runs into him), he calms down immediately by 90% and is able to tell a snippet of his traumatic past easily. Yes, he cried in the end, but where were the hesitation and struggle?

Back to the issue where Yu Lan easily trusts people. HOW?? Growing up around abusers, how is Yu Lan able to just accept someone, innocently follow them home, and innocently trust that they are not faking it? Where are the skepticism and wariness?

[collapse]

Other than this minor (or major in some cases), the novel is quite nice. I am interested in how this will continue. <<less

This is my first time making a review and I'm typing this just after I finished reading the MTL.

To those who might be reading this review, please give this novel a chance. I admit this story is really fast paced. Its instant fall in love. There is no dog blooded drama and misunderstandings are easily resolved. In short this story is simple, full of fluff, and definitely HE.
Spoiler

What really touched and amazed me in the story is the custom of the MC's family clan which is the habit of wearing a ribbon. Though because of discrimination, the meaning of it became twisted, it is revealed in the end that wearing it does not mean being open and giving it to someone means giving your pure love. And for me, that's really touching. Especially when MC ignored the majority and gave it to ML as a sign of his love. The ML also accepted as he knew the true meaning behind it.

[collapse]

This is one of the novels that I will put in my personal archive. Love it.

PS. In my years of reading Cnovels here in novelupdates, I chose this day to register lol. That itself means a lot.

Making a quick review here after I finished reading the MTL version..

I don't understand the other poor ratings/reviews given to this novel, but in my opinion it's not that bad? The story is good, there's not much drama going on, and the MC & ML got their happy ending too!

The chapters aren't much so it's a quick read, too. It's a good choice if you want to rest from reading novels of other genres. The sweetness between Yu Lan and Shao Mingyu almost made me get cavities.. Like, I also... more>> want an alpha who would pamper and spoil me like that LMAO 😂😂

Overall, it's a good novel! 😊 <<less

I came in hope of a similar fluff novel as is the case with the author's other novel. Unfortunately, it's nowhere near "The Most Shining Little Chicken in the Wolf Palace".

Here, both MC and ML lack common sense & brains. And ML lacks even more things such as decency and respect.

A sweet, fairytale-like read. The only way for MC is up, up, UP! It's a cute read away from all the tragic stories out there.

Messes get resolved quickly and MC is surprisingly stable after all he's been through. So don't take this novel too seriously if you're looking to read some tragic af, heartwrenching plot. JOIN US FOR FLUFFS WITH LITTLE 🍇 (ृ ˘ ꒳ ˘ ृ ) i tried typing the fruit name but it got censored lol

This was a pretty good read.

There's no good reason why people are rating it 1 star. I don't know why ya'll are expecting a complete breakdown of their relationship in a 56 + extras chapter book.

This novel is my cup of tea, it just have the right amount of drama, darkness, face slapping, and fluff. It has human trafficking elements, specifically prostitution, so I was really afraid that the plot would be too dark for me when I read the first chapter. Fortunately it wasn't that hyper focused on human trafficking, or I won't be able to finish this.

One thing I like the most is the flow of the novel, the progress of the plot just felt right to me. And that there aren't too... more>> many clichés elements in it.

Another thing I love is the characters, they're not that plenty but they're all unique, have their own characteristics, and have their own story to tell. It's also nice because the characters are not forgotten, I really hate it when one of the characters just suddenly disappeared.

I'm actually also happy that Yu Lan (MC) decided to do something because he wants a change, even if his actions are just small. I'm moreso very happy of how he developed throughout the novel.

Last one thing for me is the amount of chapters this novel have, it's just 55 chapter and some extras. In just short amount of chapters, the plot and novel was very well-written.

Overall, this is a 5/5 stars for me. Just give this novel a try if you have this in your library/reading list. <<less

I think I understand where the low ratings from the reviews came from. Realistically speaking, there's no way for the MC to live a normal life after he's been captive by a drug/human trafficker for 16 long years in just 3 months time. But if we throw all the logic aside, then this one is still a good read. The translator who's translating this one stopped at chapter 19. I found one in wattpad but it sucks big time. Lol. The MC has been kept in captivity for 16 yrs.... so obviously he doesnt know alot of stuff. His mental mind is still at 6 or 7? Not to say that he is a complete baby but yeah he is quite dependent at some points but thats to be expected after u have been held by human trafficking people for 16 yrs. His 'heat' is also very very screwed up because of them and comes in regular intervals.

Now the police part, they were discussing where the MC should go live... more>> again as the orphange was completely out of the idea. And ML just told his police friend he would take him to his house and MC agreed.

He is possessive. Animals (alpha wolfs and many more) are quite possessive more than just their mate, their territory, their pack, their food, their children and their family. - Like some other comment said. They are part animals.... animalistic nature, it may make some ppl mad but remember ABO is about heichary cause animals are like that we as humans dont understand but yea.

Anyway it is a light hearted novel so u should read at ur own pace 🗿

Also I would like to mention the relationship and the story is f*cked up as soon as you put logic into it... <<less

My reaction :

What ?? Its ended just like this ?? Where the next button ??

Really flat story, no up or down, no drama, its just reunion story between two people.

MC was pure white lotus, ML is gentle-possessive (?) president. Side character, more like plastic side character, they only appear to help MC then they are gone. Except his rival of love, its deeper but MC just need different point' of view and few sentences to kill them off.

Lol its really easy.

Spoiler

in the beginning, I always get the feeling of illogical about MC character. You had been traficked, you live in a cage for like 16 years. Every day you get injection of unknown drugs. Sometimes a fat man will s*xual harassment you.

Then how he still become so pure like children ?? And there are not many negative impact, except traumatic experience about thunder and his physique.

Instead being traficking children he more like the kid that first time come to big city.

Can little grapes become as red as little red tomatoes?

If the answer is no then you haven't meet this precious being ! Where did he come from ? How was Mr. Shao able to survive ? And why is my heart melting ?

Okay, so don't take it to the noggin too seriously. It's just one less heavy on your mind. A story about a boy who escaped and met his old friend. They reunited and the romance kicks in. The background setting wasn't deep either, rather it's was shallow, but... more>> that doesn't mean there's nothing. It could definitely take a darker turns with just one slip. But it don't. Think of it as people who climb out of hell don't want to go back, because they were forced there rather then be there willingly. I also feel one of the side character's jealousy interesting but his ending was definitely a 3D moment for me. Cuz you don't know why he made that decision. Why he choose that path, it's realistic and painted a person because people some won't explain why they did but some do. However, even if they do, you wouldn't grasp the thought behind all of it.

As mentioned, it's light hearted; so read when you just wanna relax. Take MC reaction to ML 's gentleman-ness as one of the comic relief in the book (from what was going on in some parts). But so was the ML a relief.

Not that he's out right funny, but the way he's patience and would be backing up Mc's life's. He is possessive compared to what I've read, but you know he's an alpha. Animals (alpha wolfs and many more animals, meerkat is one for territory and not babies) are quite possessive more than just their mate, their territory, their pack, their food, their children and their family. Don't forget Alphas are on top of their grinds and are, well the top. There's nothing in the presence that's utterly disgusting that includes how the MC is being treated if you compared it to his past. Nor romanticising anything dangerous. It also talks about races the alpha, beta and omega but mostly where MC came from. It's another interesting feature as well.

Read it if you will. It's not A amazing, nor A great book but A good book. <<less

Pure fluff. It does have flaws: a lot of the early translation is poorly done, or rather the translator's grasp of the English language seems to be very poor. If you want a realistic novel, this isn't it. The author clearly has no concept of the mental conditioning and trauma that would take place in the MC's described history. I doubt someone who experienced what is described, from such a young age, would even realize there was anything to escape from, let alone actually have the skill and comprehension to... more>> try. But then it would be a heavily dramatic story - and instead, it's pure fluff, literary cotton candy that glosses over the 'bitterness' and just drowns you in overly cloying, saccharine sugar. It's not bad, not great, but it seems to be exactly what it was intended to be - light reading with occasional mild situations that provoke thought. As a huge bonus, the mpreg is mostly in the extras, with just mentions of the possibility prior to that, so it's easily skipped for those of me who find it repugnant. <<less

It's not as bad as some reviews that gave only 1 star. MC has strong and positive mindset, he has never abandonned himself even when he was in captivity. I only wonder if a 6yo could be already that mature in real life... then his parents did really an excellent job in those early 6 years! It's conceivable that he readapted to normal life real fast because his mind had always been ready looking forward to his freedom. And with full support and love from ML, it's even more conceivable.... more>> I really enjoy reading this positive novel. <<less
