It's quite alright, I enjoyed it as a light-hearted romance novel with elements of gaming involved (i.e. levelling up, grinding, guilds, classes). Actually, I went and downloaded ragnarok as I was reading - though I'd recommend just reading the novel, the game itself doesn't really help you immerse as much as what they already explained to you in the story.

The only thing that bothers me a little is that the MC has a personality of a paper tissue. It's not an issue of his trauma or how 'weak' he is... more>> - he just doesn't say much, react to anything or has any kind of interesting characteristics that draws people to him? He's very 'safe' and also very mary sue-ish, you can literally just see it as a reader-insert and it would work. But this isn't a big deal in and of itself, I just feel kind of off about -- well, why would you make the MC like this? The choice to leave him as a blanched chicken - unsalted and unprepared, is a little... weird, I guess. But it's fine. He's also a door mat and a push over, so you're warned. No face slapping here! He's really really passive towards the ML as well, although it's fine - their dynamic really isn't all that interesting. But you like what you like and if you like this then kudos to you I guess! Good for ya!

I agree with the other reviews, they've done a good job of pointing out what's nice about the novel already. My reading experience was over-casted by the mounting frustration and befuddlement over the MC's characterization, so I wanted to share it here incase anyone else feels the same way (or walk in expecting more from the MC) -- either way, if you're looking for a gaming novel quick-fix, then you'd enjoy it!! Give it a chance!! <<less

Thank you Translator! For your hard work, sweat and time on this novel, I truly appreciate it.

It had a good start, something simple and cute things were happening but I felt like the build up to something bad was abruptly cut short and had no pay off. It wouldve been fine if the story didnt try to make something mysteriously bad is going to happen and then I was left with an "oh".

If you want something simple and cute to pass the time, this could be one of them.

I enjoyed... more>> most of it, the MC is a cute stubborn little boy and ML finds him adorable and a lot of the gaming patches were happening, nothing was really solved, and nothing really changed? Oh wow, now that I think about it. This might be my harshest review. <<less

I really want a cat now... a lucky one!

Super simple story, no plot strictly fluff. Abrupt ending but an HE so not much to bash on. I wish they could've went more in depth with MC's trauma; it just felt so shallowly brushed. I like how ML isn't your typical overbearing ice chest with money; he's more sunny & playful. Me forever questioning Hei Qixuan's punishment methods.

Also, that lucky cat origin story (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The story is great but there one thing that author probably forgot or I didnt read it properly

Spoiler

It's about CopperPlate and NonMeta. They're vanished out of sudden. The last time I saw them.... they logged off before MC got killed and leveled down once by that BattleSword guy. It's quite disappointed cuz I can see our author want to put more plots for them but due to writing block, the author seems to forget about them.

Super cute (˘ ³˘) ♥︎ A little bit slow, but super cute. The MC is cute, the ML came on a little bit abruptly, I mean how he fell for our MC was to fast and without a reason. I know that love doesn’t need a reason, but I just thought it was to fast and weird. Would 100% recommend if you like stories that has game elements and a little romance.

Thank you for the awesome translation!

I stayed up till 4am while reading this and that hasn't happened in a while. It was nice and fluffy, I like game novels a lot so I didn't find the grinding/gaming part boring. Both MC and ML were great, I liked both of their personalities (finally).

But. I'm giving it 4 instead of 5: It was rushed a lot. Author started some things and didn't finish them, some characters just disappeared and ... more>>
Spoiler

even their relationship after they got together was ultra rushed. Moving together after one day? Okay then.

Otherwise, it was pretty nice. Go read it :) (also I really liked the lucky cat theme, no I'm totally not biased cause of my nickname)

Wow where do I start? I read everything in two days and I feel that everything went very fast....... I regret not taking it easy...... But it was so good that I couldn't help reading it all at once ~

Another story that I loved, a lot of sweetness and some laughter, but above all I felt like a delicate and beautiful story, yet simple. I really loved this story!

The characters being inserted confused me a little, but they soon managed to differentiate themselves from each other in my mind. The... more>> way in which the protagonist's fear and traumas is portrayed was something that I particularly found very good, as well as his own personality and interactions.

I really wouldn't mind reading another thousand chapters about the big lucky cat and his little lucky kitten, it was a really nice read to enjoy.

I thought there was going to be a rage of anger towards certain people who barely interpreted the protagonist, but all I felt was a silent contempt, and that surprised me a lot, I think I ended up learning something from this novel. <<less

Gave me a lot of Ragnarok Online (the original MMORPG, not the mobile version) nostalgia.

Spoiler

Back in the day my guild was run very similar to the story. Some of what the ML did reminded me of my guild leader as well.

[collapse]

But overall, the story was very scattered with little to no direction. It seemed that the author didn't know what they wanted out of the story either.

I also expected a lot more progression from the MC in terms of getting stronger in the game, but by the end of the story, he's still not max level.

Spoiler

Author stated that they had trouble with the linear progression of the story as well -- they didn't know how to consolidate the MC leveling day by day and meeting way higher up people.

[collapse]

There definitely a problematic dependency issue as well.

Spoiler

MC moves in with the ML, MC doesn't have much savings left so depends financially on the ML, MC ALSO needs the ML to help him overcome the trauma. If the ML ever got tired of the MC, it would be too easy for the MC to become homeless and destitute or just die on the street cause he can't even cross the street to get home.

This might be a fictional story with a happy ending, but that kind of high dependency doesn't leave too good a taste in my mouth.

[collapse]

But overall, if you just cruise and turn off your brain, it was fluffy and cute.

Really great translation. <<less

The novel it's good if you want to read something refreshing without a lot of drama.

Of course it's not the best either worst, but you can give a tried if you're not that demanding ^^

One of the things I want to point out, it's the MC and ML personalities, I like the way they're meant to complement each other without feeling MC it's a burden to the ML.

It's nice to see that they respect and trust their decisions because they know what both are capable of, especially ML with MC.

Thank you author, editor and translators for bringing us another cute story!

This is a short fluffy read that can be finished in a day. There is no angst, but the MC has a sad backstory that gets addressed and the ML is kind, understanding and patient with the MC. Everyone is also supportive in game and bows down to the MC's luck~

Hmm.. this novel isn't bad... but it isn't exceptionally good either. My original rating would be 3.5 but I rounded it up. The novel dumps lots of game info. For those who play/played Ragnarok Online, it'll be easier to understand since the basic setting has been taken from that game with a VR twist in it. The gaming part didn't seem too bad to me (I'mnot a gamer) as the descriptions were quite detailed.

The major dissatisfaction for me came from the romance. It's fluffy and the ML is respectful, ... more>> but somehow I felt that I couldn't connect with the romance or see any chemistry between the protagonists. I guess some of the earlier reviewers mentioned this but the MC really seems like a Mary Sue (or a Gary Stu). Some parts of the romantic plot were quite legit, like the ML being understanding instead of pushing down the MC to do have s*x or him helping the MC through his trauma. I just felt that these elements could have been explored in a better way. Some of you might feel impatient with the pace of the romance like I did.

Spoiler

By Ch 21, the two protagonists barely had any interactions. The ML had only seen the MC a few times and thought he might be amusing. I don't know how that suddenly transferred into love. By ch 60+, the ML was just slightly possessive over the MC. And after he realized his feelings, he became quite proactive.

[collapse]

At this point, I feel that the author felt pressured to rush into the romance since the novel is quite short compared to other novels of the same genre. I guess they were too engrossed into world building and forgot to focus on the BL aspect. I'm already at ch 81 and I don't know how the last 15 chapters will be. But I feel that I would've enjoyed a more patient build up of the romance spanning upto 120+ chapters. The pace was just too slow in the beginning and now, it just feels a bit rushed. But I might change my thoughts after completing the novel.

The best part of the novel for me is definitely the cat. It's very cute! ? ?

Tl;dr - It's fluffy, has lots of gaming info and will make cat - lovers melt. So you can give it a try but don't get your expectations too high. <<less

Fantastic. If you ever play Ragnarok online, the mmorpg you would love this. The game system and play style if based on that game with virtual reality. The characters are written well, real and funny. The gaming aspect is similar yet different. An enjoyable, entertaining read all around. I'm looking forward to finishing this novel. 4 stars.

It is actually cute but it seems hurried to the end. There were plot holes and forgotten foreshadowings. It would have been better.

In thr beginning there was another couple until the middle then they were just forgotten. Nit a single mention considering they were the first friend of the MC in the game.

There was also the plot with the president of the enemy's guild. When you read their interactions, it seems that they were plotting something about the MC. But then it was just thrown to the tr*sh bin... more>> and was never mentioned again.

Such a good potential, wasted due to haste.

Nevertheless, it was a light and good read. <<less
