My view on this novel is that the start was fantastic, the mid section was kinda good and the later arcs were a dumpsterfire. In the early parts where the main character is navigating the dangerous world he wrote and didn't had to use his cheat to barely manage to keep his head above water in a world of people with actual powers the novel was honestly fantastic. Later on he gets some actual power in addition to his cheat but the was forced into interacting with people far beyond... more>> his level and so ended up being in a similar situation. He's also forced to come to terms with the novel world as an actual world and understand the implications of messing with the evil underside that occupies his setting. Up to this point the novel was great, and there's some particular moments about halfway through that took amazing twists and turns I didn't expect it to. Unfortunately after probably my favorite moment of the novel one of the main characters just becomes obnoxious and we see a lot of them too. It's understandable in real life considering the novel's events, but this becomes used as a shitty plot device and leads into later arcs where other characters are also far weaker as characters than they were before. The final nail is in the last few arcs where even the plot goes off the rails with a bunch of suddenly thrown in things that take up the ending rather than things used up to this point. I've read some of the author's other works and this is pretty typical of him, to have a strong start with an interesting premise used in an interesting way and by the mid-late story it turns into something that isn't even worth finishing. Overall I hope the author can find a way to fix this issue, since if he does then he'll absolutely be able to create genuinely fantastic series. <<less

Tbh the story is well build, the execution is so so. Everythings seems normal as they are late teenager. I just like it until he drop out of school, I feel weird and empty, its kind obvious the author coarce the romance after he drop out.

Suddenly talk about his boss this and that, how his relationship with her, and how clingy or cute the boss, then another time the author tell the boss is suspicious of MC, and trying to kill him all of sudden.

I try still stand until chapt... more>> 272, I believe the author know about plot hole like he write in the beginning chapter. So I have a good hope with this story, but why everything seems floating?

In the end the MC, doesnt act like an Extra, he cross the line "i just need to stick the storyline so I can survive" and being powerful character, he even just give a little help to real character. I dont wanna tell the romance stagger the story, I just feel it there so much potential as where he can act as ordinary chara and a buff to his character novel.

And the girl character is quite annoying like most typical Japanese girl chara, since its Korean I dont think I wilk see this kind of trait. Hhh so far, the most fascinating is Yoo Yeonha, Kim Suho, and Shin Jonghak. <<less

Good novel with a nice plot and some okay character development, however the romance is straight up tr*sh and yoo yeonha speculating that he wants revenge or/and the fact that he is a retunee f*cked up the novel to the maximum.

superb writing and interesting MC. The plot also gets you hooked and I personally read this fast-paced since it was very engrossing however, I stopped reading it as the end progressed since there was too many romances coming into the novel which I really dont like in action-adventure novels.

it felt very harem-like as the story comes into closing. But overall, this novel has some juicy world-building and solid plot without too much loop-hole. As the story progressed, it became more solid and the first few chapters which left questions came... more>> into the light.

different POV's also helped understanding each of the characters. I just wish there wasn't too much romance that came from the female characters over the MC but it was a good read albeit that. <<less

I liked it. If you also like Isekai novels that re-tell the story in the point of view of a side character, this is for you.

The MC is OP but he didn't necessarily overshadow the real protagonists, we can even say that he is always in the shadow like an authentic extra with a supporting role.

The novel might seem to have a mild harem theme since the MC is a bit of a flirt. No, I'm just kidding. The MC is not a pe*vert, thankfully, just the normal boy with... more>> urges (rarely) and he's not frustratingly timid like the usual impotent Asian protagonist. He's not the most handsome character but when a girl gets attracted to him, it would be reasonable.

Honestly, I didn't like mostly was the MC's love interest,
Spoiler

YI BYUL or 'Boss'

[collapse]
, because there isn't much notable interaction between them compared to other girls. Aside for the fact that they've been together the longest and he serves her like a servant so she would get use to it and wouldn't be able to live without him (very manipulative) , which most of it is within the time-skip, so I didn't really understand how he fell in love with her. The only acceptable explanation for me is that he has a certain type, like for older women, which even reflects to the real hero of the story written by the MC.

Spoiler

I remember in the story, the MC (Hajin) once told Yoo Seung-Ah (Kim Suho's love interest) that she doesn't need to worry because Kim Suho only likes older women. It wasn't written exactly like this but on the same context.

He's the author so I assumed it is the setting that he made for the character. And sometimes authors reflect themselves to the characters, right?

[collapse]

My favorite characters are:
Spoiler
    • Yoo Yeonha, because she is ambitious and a hard-worker. Although she started of a little b*tch-y, her character is really cute, caring and hard-working. She's really a very good friend to the MC. I even wished that she is the FL but sadly, that didn't happen.
    • Evandel, because she's a cinnamon roll and I really like her father-and-daughter bonding with the MC.

Yes, I only like the 2 of them.

[collapse]

The world in the story is basically like ours but with magic and a lot of fictional stuff. But most stories, which I know, that has the same setting usually concentrates on one country for example if the author is Korean, the story would be basically in Korea and also the characters would be mostly of that origin.

In this novel, there is a lot of variety. One of main characters is a princess from England, which is not only by name but a very responsible one. I also like the idea of dimensions and the worlds within the world. For example the Towers and the people inside them.

Spoiler

There is also 'Akatrina', the world where Kim Suho originated from

[collapse]

I really think the world structure, although complicated, is genius. <<less

I gotta admit the start was really good for me like it attracted me and made me want to read more. The plot was also interesting but I think that despite having different points of view, I wasn't really able to understand some of the characters? I mean, especially with boss, I do think she's cute and all but I wasn't able to feel her change or even know what she truly feels, she always just acts cute and jealous. I do like the fact our MC changes people unknowingly,... more>> that he doesn't really care how other people act around him, how he always remains indifferent. The arc that I liked the most is honestly his time in cube, it was just nice to see the different people with their unique traits and flaws, they really felt like real people, maybe because hajin also knows many things about them so us readers also felt like they were real.

i just finished the novel and I must sayy that it's so true that the ending could be better, seriously. The idea for the ending was good, yes, but it could have been written better. If the people were gonna remember him, it should've shown how, the ending could've been so much better. There were too many things happening in the last few chapters and I felt sad that I didn't see more of our MC, I mean, he really suffered you know, his suffering should've been more emphasized, he left his real world, his real family, despite him feeling less attached to his real world he still could've lived better there, especially the fact that he lost his abilities, that was too harsh.. It's not like he asked to be thrown there, he was pushed to live there and got too attached to the people in that world, he worked hard just like everyone else, anyway maybe it's because he worked too hard and now he just has to live peacefully and help people. Still! I wanted more scenes of him = (Regardless, this was a good read ? Oh and btw I liked how his luck really did the deed u know, and I honestly got attached to aether and sparta and sannuri and I thought hayang would be able to talk hahah, I also like Jungyeong and jain. Evandel is just a child sent from heaven, she's so cute and her relationship with hajin is nice.

i honestly liked hajin that's why I think that the ending didn't give him justice. I really cried on the time with Chae Jinyoon. The bromance between suho and hajin was also nice to read. Bell was surprisingly a character that I liked and wanted more of?? I find it funny how yoo yeonha stayed with her complicated feelings even until the end but she was really a trusted ally, she knew the most about hajin I think and she was too unappreciated. Rachel was just cute with her texts and Nayun for me was just a pitiful character, hajin really owe her that regression stone she got from the tower of miracles, she suffered too much just for the sake of 'growth' which honestly wasn't showed much. <<less

An enjoyable and slightly different isekai. Don't get me wrong, it is staggeringly similar to other isekais, but I did enjoy this particular spin.

Though this author, like many others, has issues with getting to an ending. He did much better than his 'Monster who levels up', but the last third was laggy and disjointed. (I have issues reading when we're switching between 5 coincidental arcs/parties in the same chapter. I can't keep that many people and thought processes straight.)

Also, a point of note, this author likes to completely destroy... more>> their MC at the end of the story. But then he changes his mind and tries to reverse the tragedy. So his endings tend to fall under what I would call happy tragedies. <<less

Alright so the whole novel I quite enjoyable. The drama and whatnot isn’t too bad either, actually somewhat entertaining. My problem with this novel is the ending. The author refuses to stay on the perspective of the main character and in my opinion ruins the story because he likes to jump for five different perspectives. For like a paragraph or two you get the MC and then the rest of the chapter is other people and sometimes it’s just useless bullsh*t that I don’t care about. I actually find myself... more>> getting frustrated and scimming or even scrolling past them. It also feels a little rushed. I want to enjoy the novel to the end but the author is making it somewhat hard with the constant perspective switches. <<less

This novel is a very worthwhile read. The characters feel real throughout and the plot is interesting, despite many holes in the story it is still entertaining. The ending however leaves much to be desired, as many plot points and characters went unused throughout the story even though they were supposed to be big parts of the story.

I read about 30 chapters or so of this novel when it was available on wuxiaworld (not sure if it still is..) and after coming back to reread and finish the novel, my initial 5-star dropped because the ending was rushed and some plot holes. However! I really enjoyed the novel as the premise is extremely interesting, the world-building, characterization, and the OP-ness of the MC while remaining as an extra all the way until the end... The characters really did grow on me haha. Loved it!

Feels like fate for me to come across this novel, right after reading one that just went on Hiatus. But it doesn't prevent this whole "transmigration into a web novel" premise from being so incomprehensible. And even with the author critiquing his own generic & shitty work, with an OP Hero; it doesn't prevent this Hero Battle Academy setting from being generic. Along with annoying characters that constantly misunderstand everything and the MC decked out with Cheat Skills.

Yet amidst all this BS, I still found myself captivated by this story.... more>> Witnessing characters that undergo some surprising developments, a particular arc that reminded me of HxH's Greed Island and a fairly satisfying ending. <<less

Honestly I have to rate it a 3.5 as it is right now. If the author explored the relationships of other characters with the main protagonist more then it would definitely be a 4.5. The missing.5 would be attributed to the basic wish fulfillment and Gary-sue-ness that fills the entire story. I mean it’s good if you have nothing else to read and you want to kill some time but that’s really it.

I see 5 stars as the "this novel is probably one of my favourites ever" type of grade instead of a "perfect" novel. Since... this definitely isn't and in fact there are a lot of things left to desire.

Firstly, I love the idea and setting of the novel.

Spoiler

The MC (Hajin) is an author who lost passion for his novel, left unfinished, and decides to allow a "co-author" to redo the novel and finish it. However is then forced into this redone version of the novel. (Kind of like tr*sh of the Count's Family except the MC only has the first draft instead of knowing the definite facts up to a certain point like Cain does, which I also liked).

[collapse]

The obligatory "op ability" of the MC is his 'creator's authority' (I don't think the name is actually mentioned.) Which has a lot of sub-abilities. This is probably this first problem as the MC hardly uses this ability to its fullest potential which can be annoying at times.

Spoiler

The main ability is to modify things using 'story points' (gained by how significant he is to the world) which in itself is op. However he can also create 'gifts' - the unique abilities of this world using story points even having the ability to create a gift worth 10, 000 SP for free as his first one. This gift he creates which the one time 10k sp is understandable, as it allows him to use any ranged weapon more easily which makes sense for someone from Earth, however after that he hardly uses this ability even though there are quite a few abilities that would be helpful. It also feels like he hardly tries to gain sp, instead just taking whatever he would have to do to move the plot forward more openly instead of doing something for the purpose of it.

The example I think of is NEET with a dating system or whatever it is called where even if its only mentioned we at least know the MC is active in gained points for his similar abilities

[collapse]

There is also luck which in retrospect was a bit too op and leads to one of the biggest missed opportunities after the ending.

Spoiler

Only failing once and even then he uses a skill to rewind which also triggers a special luck boost which has been there from near the start of the novel, but hardly does anything with this gained luck which hard been accumulating through 300 ish chapters.

[collapse]

The overall plot is great with characters that make sense and grow, although the amount of sub-plots going on at the same time can sometimes confuse the pacing, it usually is great at being engaging. Except:

Spoiler

The ending was VERY empty. Some things are just completely forgotten and leaves a horrible aftertaste. The biggest offender being the fact that it literally ends with the original-villain/rival-turned-good Jin Songhak (Im bad at remembering these names and Im not going to check) who is from another world which is completely destroyed returning to the place even though the MC in the arc based around the two gets an item which can recreate a version of that world which they saved in that arc but just doesn't use it. In fact out of the 3 main female characters for the MC, whilst my favourite is the one the MC eventually is with, Jin Songhak is completely neglected by the end by almost everyone and the first main FL is implied MAYBE of regressed back in an attempt to be with the MC or not, we have no idea and it seems kind of random.

If anything would lower the score it would probably be that the ending feels like there was at least 5-10 chapters missing

[collapse]

In conclusion this is a novel with a great premise which almost carries the whole thing be itself with truly enjoyable characters and interactions, however it can be difficult to read at times do to missed opportunities which are often quite blatant. <<less

Overall a good novel.

I appreciate the irony in that the story of an author whose story fell apart in the second half also fell apart in the second half. It felt like the Cube arc was the strongest part of the story while the Tower just dragged on for too long despite some good ideas and the final third was a mess on its own. Not enough to make me give this less than four stars, but I do wish the plotting had been a little tighter in regards to previous plot threads.... more>> And there just wasn't enough payoff on some of the earlier foreshadowing.

I actually enjoyed the harem aspect in that it really toed the line for what could even be considered a harem at all given how slowly it built up and how ambiguous it was. Only two characters explicitly fall in love with the protagonist and I think only one other probably did as well. I do wish the winner had received perhaps not more screen time - she got plenty - but better exploration. Her development just felt kind of weak compared to the two I consider to be the other female leads. And honestly? I actually found myself thinking he had more chemistry with Kim Suho.

In contrast to the good writing for the other characters, I had some issues with the protagonist. He worked great as an underdog early on and seeing him becoming a renowned specialist was also pretty interesting, but it came at the cost of making him feel too strong, meaning his limitations often felt quite arbitrary. His pseudo leadership role also felt kind of unnatural to his character like he had been slotted into a role that needed to be filled but was one that he wasn't suited for.

Finally, the climax and the actual conclusion s**ked. <<less

Nice story, highly irritated that the MC chose master sharpshooter at the beginning. If he knew the importance of luck in his story, why not make a skill like "absolute luck" like HCLW but more broken and build around skills and whatnot with luck. Sigh... don't think there are any other stories besides HCLW and this one which revolves around the power of luck. I want to read one.

I hate and like Chae Nayun character, she is so irritating but so pitiful at the same time. At first she is like a b*itch, but as time pass, she is so pitiful that I can't just hate her entirely. Still, the drama between she and MC a bit annoying because it is delayed for too long.
