You Liangxing would never open the speech function in game.

That was because his voice was…

Particularly! Kittenish!

But there was one day, he queued up with a teammate who had so much to say that they may as well explode. Vexed to the point of no return, he contributed a voice that was capable of splitting heaven and earth, “Don’t BB.”

The other party who was being scolded stilled. In the ensuing silence, he suddenly let out a long, relishing… moan.

You Liangxing: “…..”

Later —

He realised that the person was a great god,

Much later,

Without him realising,

He became the great god’s royal healer.

…. And also his boyfriend.

The ML and MC both are dazzling. And handsome. And tall. And smart. But one of them is taller and he's also very beautiful. But the other one is very handsome. One of them has a girly voice and he's also very rich by the way.

And once again, just in case someone did forget or did not get it, they both are very tall and such beauties.

That's my experience reading this novel. The plot was barely there. Sister was hilarious though!

There's enough fluff and sweetness between the main CP.

The ML- he's lazy to the bones and shameless. He's called God K because of his gaming skills. An achor that's popular and also with godly looks and towering height.

The MC- he's the epitome of perfection. Ultra rich, ultra smart and of course very handsome with yes, kittenish/girly voice.

Now my concerns:

Spoiler

-The MC's hitting his friend and the ML (that he even lost a tooth). Just because his pain tolerance is higher than normal, that doesn't give the MC any right to hit/kick/slap him. Granted that he overstepped his boundary when he stole a kiss, but that's too much, imho. I mean as a child, we were always told to keep our hands to ourselves. Whenever he loses his patience, he would hit/kick the ML and also his friend. He even slapped him in front of people instead of comforting him. But also, the ML most of the time pushes MC's limit because of his shameless attitude. So, yeah!

-I mean really? The MC perfected every character of KOG in one try everytime. His friend who's playing for almost 2 years and the ML who's considered a KOG gaming god, becomes second-rate. Okay fine, he's perfect in everything, sure. *Eye roll*

-The author downgraded ML's character and skills after meeting the ML. The side characters only appears when the author wants to. I skipped the barrage comments as they become repetitive and I was bored to death reading them. *Yawn*

- Last but definitely not the least. The commenters/reviewers praising the MC to be strong and cute and etc. NOW let's reverse the situation, the gong's the one hitting/kicking the shou whenever he loses his patience because of the shou's shamelessness. Probably the comments would scream abuse, violence and hate towards the gong, no?!?! I rest my case.

[collapse]

Overall, this is an okay story. I just don't like the author's way of making the MC OP turning all the people around him second-rate. <<less

Dropped...I feel like I should bow down to the MC. His patience for utterly annoying friends, family, ML (ahem), and utter STRANGERS is f*cking FORMIDABLE. I can't even.

My nerves are utterly grated upon (it's probably a me issue), holy sh*t it's like the MC is an angel and a God of Patience. Literally why does everyone describe him as having a bad temper? That's literally just lying to the readers and people!! Omg. Like I would rage quit (this novel) his life if I could. He's an Angel.

f*ck maybe... more>> it's me but why is everyone and I mean everyone but the MC in this novel aggravating. Also I'm really annoyed at how the author (and low-key comments) is explicitly putting the MC as the shou. Like it is one thing to do it in writing, and it's another to explicitly state it beforehand as the MC "role". Like idk if it's offensive at all to real gay men but I feel offended that such explicit lines are being drawn like yeah "you're the shou"and "he's the gong" "heheeheh". Ok I mean I get but like that's just not also realistic all the time.

like I can't explain this well probably but it's like the MC is just being made for this "interesting role as a handsome but girly voice shou" which is less about his character because it doesn't matter because he's a "decided shou" and I guess the comments low-key annoy me only because it feeds into these stereotypes and role in the sense of like "yeah it's so interesting bc he's this boxer liker handsome guy but he's a SHOU hhehe" which just feeds into the idea that ok he's not real at all to you guys, he's just a character that's a decided shou. Idk why it offends me but I feel like even if tops and bottoms exists as a stereotype comments like that and this novel makes it feel like tops and bottoms has an extra meaning to their personalities. Rolls eyes* Whatever. I know it's a novel. It's still just annoying to me.

Tbh if you like these types of personalities but dislike this type of shou/gong division and want honestly more realistically protrayed gay couple, I would recommend "Reborn with an Old Enemy on the Day of our Marriage" - they never mention who is what. <<less

I'd like to start this by saying, this is my first review and I can guarantee you that this is just going to be one very long, very dull brain fart. it's just the random thought process I had during my reading.

That being said, let's continue. :)

Initially, I'd been putting off making an account even as read novels that both amazed and annoyed me. I felt like in the end, whatever I wrote could be found in the words of many other posters so I shrugged it off with... more>> a head nod to the poster I related to.

HOWEVER! As I read this novel o kept finding myself in a constant loop of "oh my god, this is quite literally the best novel I've read in a while."

There was just something about this novel that gave me a refreshing feeling. I'm not one to read modern novels at all, if I had to say why, then mostly because I don't find modern novels interesting. I'm already living in a modern world why read about a romance that I can see/hear if I go look on twitter? Better yet, why read one when I could go find a manga/comic that at least has pictures to accompany the description of faces. The only other Modern novel I read had cultivation aspect to it. That being the case, I wasn't particularly sure what to expect going into it, but one thing for certain, I never thought i'd have fallen in love.

Although this has a lot of gaming jargon and I'm not the biggest gamer, the translator did an excellent job at explaining both the gaming jargons and the different characters in the game as well as the different internet slang/jokes. I truly appreciate their level of translation and information they provided.

I thought this novel would be slow and dull but by the second chapter I was already laughing and as it continue, my laughter just wouldn't let up. I even enjoyed the gaming aspect and liked how the author painted the picture of what was happening in the game so clearly that I felt like I was apart of the broadcasts watching them. I find that very commendable. it could have fallen flat, but it did not and even I want to play the game.

Another thing I enjoyed was the pacing. that's a difficult to get right. most novels i've read had a big problem with pacing. One minute ML met MC and the next everyone's in love. Then there were some where MC meets ML and they're barely friends and then the last five chapters is written in hyper speed and they just somehow are in love?? This novel managed to show the step by step process of how the MC and the ML fell in love and while in the beginning I felt like the ML was quick to take interest of the MC, everything that followed felt very natural. The slow manifestation of feelings on the MC's behalf and then the subtle realization of them followed by his, albeit reluctant, acceptance. I've read so many cliche tropes of the soft, shy, gentle, cutesy, weak little shou and the big, strong, op, aggressive alpha gong and I was so over it. but then we meet YLX and KSZ and it's a complete and utter mess. I loved it. the shou is headstrong, oppressive in his handsomeness while being well rounded and good at everything, s*upidly rich and op in their gaming. Meanwhile, the gong is a lazy, sulking, clingy, big tall oaf who's beauty rivals the fairest of college belles. while being a big, tall, grown man of 6'2 ish, he was also op at the gaming but his family wealth didn't amount to much, but they also didn't care too much about it.

i loved that the shou didn't have some existential crisis over being gay. I loved that the focus wasn't on "how can I like a man, a man? I'm a man, I'm not 'a gay' ! I love women! b**bs and stuff are cool!" I loved that the ML accepted he was pretty much in love with the MC and didn't care and I loved the the MC had a moment of "oh...i never actually cared for females anyway... uhhhhhhhh... k" and then it was over. I loved that their friends were friends. they supported them and they didn't make anything weird because "you're 'a gay' does that mean you've been looking at me?" I loved that the one female love rival... if you can call her that (?) took her lost respectfully and with maturity instead of being made into some b*tchy snob full of jealousy like most authors right females. I liked that the ML made it clear who he was with and there was no beating around the bush because he was with another man.

overall I just loved it. can you tell how much I loved? can you hear my cries over the enevitable ending that I'm procrastinating on getting to by spilling my thoughts on novelupdatesdotcom because I'm lowkey sad and trying not to cry over my first (and probably last, lbr) modern novel that I completely fell in love with? Can you? huh?

where was I going with this?....

uhhh anyway, I say all that to say that this is a really good read. the pacing is good, the characters are developed well, the world building is fine (randomly squish that in here ignore it), the description for the gameplay is really intriguing. the relationship for the ML and MC wasn't toxic. (well, MC does like smacking him around...... but we'll move on, he kind needs it if I'm honest.. but it's all in jest not hard enough to hur—uhh ignore it) there was no aggressiveness, possessiveness, r*p* there was no bullsh*t leading, manipulation or coercing. just, idk theres way too many novels that have toxic relationships fetishized and seen as cute just because it's bl and it's gross so to read this novel and it be modern, a genre I'm not keen on,

I'm just really happy and so this is going to be posted unedited and with every obvious random sideways thought that popped up because I feel like it'll help understand just how much I loved this novel.

uhh... do I say thank you? nvm I'm gonna say thank you. thank you ! <<less

I'm a big fan of video games and slightly overpowered MCs, so this novel struck all my weak points, , , ,

I love the accurate descriptions, and the personalities of the characters themselves. The translation is very good, but it's surprisingly easy mtl aswell. If you know a little bit of chinese, using the text to speech on google translate works well too (๑>◡<๑)

Oh my hahaha this novel literally made me laugh so hard tears came out of my eyes?? The comedic timing is perfect, and every time a new secret got revealed I was on the floor laughing my ass off. The shamelessness of the ML really brought out the tsundere of MC, like initially I thought he was just a cold character but after dealing with too many shameless lines from ML, he really couldn't contain himself haha

Both MCs are very much OP, maxed out in all stats, but it's their... more>> personalities that make this novel so entertaining to read. Their feelings for each other are very genuine and develop so naturally, and I loved how instant their connection was at the start. The ambiguous period was a lot of fun to read, and the reactions of everyone around them once their relationship was revealed were hilarious. The lack of h*mophobia was also pretty refreshing, as well as the parents reactions.

Some things in this novel make no sense, like why was MC basically pro gamer level as soon as his hands touched the keyboard for the first time, and why is ML 203cm tall- I think he's the tallest ML in a modern danmei that I have ever read?? It adds to the charm of this novel, with little random unrealistic bits thrown in to make it feel just a little fantastical.

Overall it's quite lighthearted, with endless amounts of dog food and even the vinegar tasting sweet. ML gets to live out his dream of being a henpecked lazy husband as his powerful CEO wife raises him hahaha the switch up of the normal dynamics was great. Really I can't recommend this enough! I feel like any bad energy in my body has been cleansed after reading this from how hard I laughed. <<less

First half was great, unfortunately got progressively bad in the second half until I skipped ten or so chapters towards the end to read the ending and extras.

I think the main takeaway for me is that this novel promised to be a story about a healer in gaming and turned out to be a joking rascal x cold-blooded genius CEO slice of life with some gaming tacked on every dozen chapters or so, like an afterthought. If it kept going with the elements it promised in the beginning, it would... more>> have been fine. But then it became one chapter about their zoo date, one chapter about their first encounter, one chapter about ML going to MC's apartment for the first time, one chapter about the first kiss, one chapter about MC's friend making friend with another character, three whole f*cking chapters about forum posts discussing who's most handsome at University, like... where the f*ck is the royal healer? Where is the domineering playstyle of the ML we got a glimpse of several dozens chapters before? Where is the gameplay that seems random at first and then it's like a heavenly spear that pierces the heaven and makes your heart beat super fast?! All f*cking gone and forgotten. So saddening to see.

Spoiler

In the second half of the novel MC gets really unlikeable to me because this isn't wuxia or xianxia, author, you can't apply principles of golden finger in a modern world setting! In the beginning I actually liked MC a lot. A taciturn, tall, soft-spoken boxer who loves maths and accounting who's promised to become a royal healer in game? Sounds intriguing! Then boxing turned out that he's one-punch man, won every match (never portrayed in novel), never sustained an injury, likes accounting turned out to be genius who masters every single thing to lvl 100+ in one second (took me back to Disney's SW Mary Sue protagonist tbh), super boring and predictable, and royal healer turned out to be like two games. Don't even let me start on his family or the CEO thing, I thought I was reading about an immortal cultivator who transmigrated in a dating sim world and gained a thousand buffs from the system. If I wanted to read about robots I'd pick a sci-fi story.

I also didn't like what author ended up doing with ML. Like another reviewer said, when you look at the story as a whole ML is really there to be a useless hanger-on to the MC. In the beginning he's introduced as a brazen, gifted gamer who likes banter. He reminded about Evil from FOG or Soft from I Can Do It, but neither the gaming skills nor the bantering attitude were given space to develop because the author decided to gush about their MC's golden finger for the rest of the novel. Bantering? He's got a problem with his throat/mouth and MC is gonna speak for him and charm the audience. Gaming skills? He can lie down and let MC carry (even if MC plays a healer, which actually happensin the 2v2 PK match). Like... What's the point of writing him into the story? MC is not even getting ere*t during s*xual interc**rse so you can't even tell ML is there to awaken MC's sexuality or some sh*t like that. What a disappointment.

Hey! I love it!

It's pure fluff~ It's slow but bearable.

Though it's a gaming type, I don't feel the game at all actually. What catched my attention throughout the novel is the interaction between MC and ML.

I don't have much to say. I just wonder how would it be like if MC really become a top and ML as a bottom. Hehe~ 2m tall bottom and 1.85m top. What a sight~

I love this book; I love the characters, the romance, the pacing — I just love everything about it.

I was really shocked (in a good way), though, because it’s my first time encountering such characters as You Liangxing and Kang Shengzhe. They aren’t confusing and frustrating; they’re both really straightforward and act on their feelings which I find very refreshing and nice because novels usually have black-bellied MLs who’re confusing paired with indecisive MCs. Here, though, I find their characters perfectly flawed in a way that doesn’t infuriate the readers.

You... more>> Liangxing isn’t afraid to show his feelings; he doesn’t mind showing vulnerability and expressing his fondness for Kang Shengzhe. He’s a very upright character, and I actually really look up to him. I find us quite similar in terms of thinking and acting, so maybe that’s why I also really like him as a character. He really is the ideal person; unfortunately, he’s fictional.

Kang Shengzhe is adorable. I love how he always compliments You Liangxing and gushes about how amazing he is and how he sounds like he’ll never get tired of doing that. I love his laziness, but I also love how determined he gets when he does something for his Liang Liang. They’re both really firm people who aren’t afraid to be themselves, and I love that.

The pacing of their romance was neither too fast nor too slow — it was perfect. I absolutely love their interactions, and now, they’ve easily become one of my favorite couples (aside from Hua Cheng & Xie Lian, Yu Sui & Shi Luo, and Fang Juexia & Pei Tingsong). Their bond was gradual and their chemistry was so strong; they went from strangers to ambiguous friends, and of course, lovers.

Their relationship is so enviable; I always found myself “aww”-ing and crying at how adorable and wholesome they both are. They both give and take, and they’re never unfair to each other; they do their best for each other which, of course, should be normal in a relationship. Like my other favorite couples, this pairing is a really good match that I would always find myself envying and wanting in real life. Honestly, who wouldn’t want a relationship such as theirs and my other favorite couples’?

The author’s writing style is very understandable in terms of gaming; the game interactions were pretty funny and, at times, exciting. Although there were only a few chapters related to being a healer and the book’s title, I’m quite fine with that, I guess.

I love this novel and its little imperfections, but I really wanted more!! It wasn’t “not enough;” it’s just that I’m greedy for more of their life and their interactions.

Anyways, this was definitely worth the read. <<less

It was... okay? The start was fine, but it got boring in the middle. There's just not enough dog food for my liking and I don't think the development of their relationship was "realistic" (or at least, make sense). Also, there were a lot of annoying characters (in my opinion).

Although I'm only at chp 110 but imo there's a few things I'm not satisfied with. MC is OP until everyone else including the ML seems bland. Up until now there's like literally no downs in MC life? Literally. And IDC if he learns boxing from a young age, hitting ML is just unacceptable. Except that time when he was half asleep and punch the sh*t out of ML, I agree its a self defense. What made me uncomfortable is MC saying he knew it will be ML. Seems to... more>> justify his action of randomly kicking and punching ML. And ML just accepts it everytime? ML has like no sense of self worth for himself from the beginning to the current chp I'm reading. No character growth and realisation. Tbh I feel bad for the ML because I've heard of alot of violence in relationships. This right here is literally a toxic relationship. No matter how much author or other reader glamourise it, or just push it aside as a joke, it hsut doesn't sit right with me. And I've never cares about their relationship dynamics. Who is top/bottom/dom/sub is fine but not toxic ones.

For the side characters, I really hope there's more character development as well? I hope there will be in the later chapters.

-2 stars for the toxic relationship and lack of character development in ML and side characters. I'm not comfortable with how ML never stood up for himself once. Maybe I'll change my mindset later but literally the whole leftover few chapters can't justify how the front chapters are. This is just my honest opinion reading it up until now. Tbh if the toxic trait of MC and ML is removed, I'll probably raise one more star for it. <<less

As someone who loves gaming type BL, this story was pretty good.

Started off a little draggy because it goes quite into detail for the actual game technicalities. But it sets the stage and brave through that 50+ chapters or so and you'll get a really cute couple. The MC likes to act a little coy/coquettish which is kinda cute and sweet, especially when ML gives in and indulges him. (Shameless! I love it...)

Personally, what I liked about it is that ML (gong) seems to be lazy and reliant, but... more>> when push comes to a shove, he too is able to be independent to stand up for MC. Really really sweet!

It's a cute novel and the translation was pretty good. This is probably my favorite gaming novel and it was nice that the typical BL cliches were broken: The MC (shou) is the cold, rich, handsome, strong, CEO, and the ML (gong) is the beautiful, supported, emotional, weak one. There's not really unnecessary drama with persistent villains, but I admit that the middle is somewhat boring and repetitive. I pulled through though and the ending was really cute, sweet, and satisfying, so I don't advise dropping this novel,

I loved this novel so fluffy and cute. The characters are very strong and sure of themselves but as normal human beings have an insecurity here and there. I am happy when people love themselves just how they are. It not only shows confidence but simple maturity. It is rare to find mature characters in books because for the sake of the plot the characters are riding their shortcomings most of the time,

This is great if you just want a lovey dovey romance with 0 conflict, antagonists or climax.

The characters are genuinely likeable except MC who can be violent and rather rude. When ML teases MC, he gets irritated and he punches ML. Author tries to play it off as a couple fight but it’s quite horrifying if you think about it. And MC is clearly not playing around when he punches ML hard enough to leave a black eye. And the way MC coldly rebukes ML when he goes too far... more>> with his teasing...

But ML is absolutely charming. Would be perfect if he was 185-190cm instead but a tall beauty, with humour and a golden retriever personality? I really only stayed this long for ML. <<less

I just have to put a cent of my mind here bc I've seen way too many people condemn the shou for using violence on the gong but just go haha he's shameless when seeing the gong literally invades the shou's boundaries and personal space. Several times at that, with nearly no sign of repentance.

I mean, sure violence is bad, but he didn't do that unprovoked, okay? As an introvert myself, I completely understand why the shou would go physical if someone invaded his personal space. There are people who... more>> respond this way in real life too, and it's very normal. Not everyone is comfortable with sudden and intrusive physical affections.

And it's really clear that the shou is very uncomfortable with it too, as seen in his interactions with his sister, but he ultimately chose to relent because maybe he was too used to it and perhaps he was also too gentleman to hit a woman.

Which doesn't make it okay for anyone to ignore his discomfort and continue pushing forward.

And this brings me to the point of the gong's shameless and pushy behavior. Once or twice is sweet and cute, but when it constantly happened in every other episode with nearly no sign of him even realizing the faults in his actions, or even stop and try to see if the shou was uncomfortable, it really does rub me the wrong way. Especially when I see the story—and even the readers—just laughing his antics off.

It's like he's always forgiven because he's the ML. But if he wasn't, I bet people would tr*shtalk him six ways to Sunday on how disgusting, creepy and pushy he was being. What a double standard.

That's the biggest ick I have with this story. I can forgive everything else, but the gong's lack of guilt and nearly no character development especially in respecting the shou's boundaries really cut off a big part of my enjoyment.

He's fckin lucky the shou liked him still to tolerate it. But I agree with the gong's mom that he doesn't really deserve the shou. He's way too excellent and mature for him. I don't see him really putting much effort to be a better lover for the shou and it seems like it's always the shou who relented and indulged him.

It really makes me sad that two people who practically claimed they loved the shou the most were also people who seemingly had really never considered his comfort and respected his personal space. If you love him then please do stop a little to really look at him and consider his feelings instead of constantly buldozing your way into making him accept you out of resignation.

That being said, the shou wasn't always without fault either. Him being essentially an awkward introvert who doesn't know how to properly interact with people probably contributed greatly on how he's being too physical oftentimes. It was wrong of him to resort to violence every time he was flustered, and I also don't like how this always got glossed over similar to the gong's personal boundary invasion problem.

And so, I very much looked forward for them to sit down and talk these problems out with each other, apologize to each other, and learn together how to be a better person for their lover, but alas, it didn't happen until the end.

A story that could've been 4 stars had become 3 just bc of this point. <<less
