My Classmate is 200 Million Years Old

The su*cide of a high school girl following the rejection of her crush whom she confessed to roused the soul of a Scorpio Planet Marshal from her 200 million years of slumber — she reincarnated into the body of Xuan Mo. And so, she decided to live on Earth on behalf of the girl! However, it was quite the miserable situation for an alien to own two different sets of memories. She had to use her peculiar mental power to peep into the previous owner’s memories regarding everyday, mundane matters while trying to rein in her cutting aura pretending to be a normal human…

But her shocking performance during military training definitely must have floored everyone. Okay fine, her incredible finesse aside, what’s with the consecutive bullseye for every single round during their shooting competition? Was this something a normal female student is able to achieve? Shouldn’t you explain yourself a little damnit! And what’s with the multiple grade jumps, and being contended for by the various prestigious universities? What kinda havoc you try’na wreck with your low-key flaunting? I mean it’s a good thing she’s caught the eye of a special organisation and was entrusted with important tasks, but what’s with all aloof rule-breaking gameplay? She’s practically the walking definition of “hated by even the gods”.

What’s even stranger was that Xuan Mo’s only ever interested in warring matters and battling; she’ll only ever pay her ferociously blooming blossom luck as much heed as she minds the passing cloud with the mindset of crossing the bridge when she reaches it (wipes sweat) and can you be less insensitive when handling the various Earthlings’ endless crushing and eye-candying you?!

This all screeches to a halt however when she discovers the existence of someone else from her home-planet, so she’ll be needing a raincheck with the getting a “spouse” part of mortal life on the Blue Planet. Of course, we’re discussing this on the premise that she wanted to return home…

I'm more fond of this story than I Am A Killer because I can feel this has more comedy with nice air. IMAK has a profound settings and the the MC as its pillar but when it comes to funny scenes, the air isn't funny, its stagnant because all of its chapter are all serious and I really can't feel any other type of ambiance.

This novel is pretty good because the atmosphere is not too heavy and there's a... more>> tint of freedom and I won't say that the MC is really cold as the tag suggested but she's more of mature and pretty adventurous.

IMAK focuses on the military itself and emphasize theMC's power so the school became nothing. But let's see about this novel.

One flaw for me: The writing is too profound and heavy, so profound that sometimes it becomes an info-dump. <<less

Interesting. Nicely written. Good Translation.

Story about Alien that stole a girl's body and learn how to live on earth. Quite funny though.

I hope she can fought with other bad alien if there was any. So far, she was the only one awake on earth.

This is a fun novel to spend time reading but a very basic novel overall. The two main failings are the author's inability to write a believable alien consciousness and not sticking to previously established rules. Also reading about the characters playing video games is painful.

i love this novel to bits and it makes me sad to see it rated so lowly.

it isn’t for everyone since some people (including myself) aren’t into sci-fi genres with aliens, intergalactic, military stuffs and what not. So I was surprised to see myself liking it. Please read a few chapters, and if it’s not to you’re liking, just drop it. No need to rate it poorly if it’s not your cup of tea.

the MC xuan mo is a cold apathetic alien who's has a genius IQ and a negative... more>> EQ. The author actually goes into her race’s culture and gives background to why she has a “cold-blooded” way of thinking. It gives her more depth which is probably why I grew so fond of her. She isn’t an arrogant alien who looks down on us “weak humans” but rather she’s willing to learn human culture in respect to her body’s original owner. The best quirk about her is that unlike inheriting the OG xuan mo’s memories, our alien has to make the effort to inherit them. This lead to her prioritizing the significant information while disregarding the useless information (like human common sense) and this ends her up in funny situations.

this book is mostly episodic comedy with no romance and after every arc our little alien gains a little more knowledge in human lifestyle and a trickle empathy and emotions.

Spoiler

the ending was kinda abrupt and bittersweet, but honestly the rest of the story made it worth the read. Also, our alien xuan mo doesn’t end up with anyone at the end of the story. (Which i’m actually happy about since I can’t imagine her being in a relationship without it being one-sides)

[collapse]

have a happy reading, hope you like it <<less

I don't know why this novel has low ratings since that novel is so amazing!!!!. The MC basically has a high IQ well since is an alien to yeah. Though she pretty much doesn't know a lot about human hence the reason as to why she keeps getting into funny situation.

Spoiler

she ends up telling her supervisors that she changed after confessing and then committing sucide hence the reason as she woke up the way she is probably making them rethink their existence lol

First of all, I just wanna say D*mn!is the author human?I mean the way he describe another planet and aliens is like he went through it himself and I know he might have had references but the description is so vivid!sometimes I ask myself if I saw this alien descriptions is if the author is from another planet lol ok anyways gotta rate this novel for being freaking good!?

  • Firstly, the one thing I love about this novel is that not much romance can be found (ahhh finally!) ?and I know you might ask why I dont want romance and drama and fluff well its not like I dislike it, it's just that I've gotten tired of reading romance novels for the past 3 years amd I dont feel the butterflies in my stomach but instead felt like choking for eating too much dog food (ToT) and finally finding this novel with it not being boring as it goes on, thrilling enough and fianlly an independent woman!when I read those badass, cool fl's stories they sometimes have those Ceo, cold Ml's (finally!no Ceo and cold Ml!) they would look inferior to them I know some of you might want the best ML for the FL but sometimes I want a completely independent female lead that inspires us woman and not about Ml's taking care of FL and doting on her inspiring some of us to hope for a bf or husband thats cool and rich and handsome this makes us ideal about something thats almost a fantasy!sigh*anyways this novel is one of my top favorites<3
  • The plot is not something for you to worry about cause every chapter is increadibly interesting and I know some of you might think this would get boring as you continue reading like me but no, it just kept getting more interesting. The only things that Im a bit uncomfortable of is that FL is a bit no sometimes too heartless but it still shows FL is kindhearted in some chapters.
  • Love how sometimes this can be comedic as well.

hmm... I'd say this really isn't my cup of tea. I dig OP female leads and all but there's just something a little off...

First things first, I've never been a fan of sci-fi outer spacey novels (unless they are interstellar transmigration OP protagonist brainless novels where they use that one skill from "ancient earth" to dominate the interstellar world or if it's an ABO interstellar type hehe I'm quite specific) so my review and thoughts on this may be a bit bias. And because of this I won't be rating... more>> the novel.

The entire novel is basically about this super duper strong alien species who was trapped on Earth and went into hibernation to survive until her species found her. After waking up from hibernation, she had go adapt to the modern era and see if she could find her way back home or live out until her next hibernation period came.

The novel is basically about an alien trying to be human yet not hiding that she's not normal at all. Her views and outlooks portrayed by the author is not very... I can't find a word to describe it. I get that's she's an alien and all but the way she is portrayed is not done very smoothly?

But I do applaud the author for being able to create a character that is very oblivious and naive because they just came to an unknown world. It is actually one of the more realistic portrayal of what transmigration would be like if one was to be transported to a whole new world. The author even took into account of her need to adapt to her new body and included things like walking, talking and even chewing which was very novel.

But I don't get why she's so sensitive to people questioning if she's not human. Like I get that you have to hide the fact that you're an alien and all and it's a touchy subject. But after a while, shouldn't she get use to various people making jokes about it or at least be a bit less aggressive about it? Doesn't she realise that the more she acts out the weirder it may seem and that it may alert others? She's intelligent and adaptable about other things but not this which is kinda weird. And when
Spoiler

her identity was discovered, she doesn't bother about it? Like she just accepted it? Then what's the point of her being so touchey about it initially geeze

[collapse]

Her OPness comes from her genetic advantage and experience as a Marshall. Her species is into Sciencey stuff so her Science and Maths are super good; her species has mental energy powers so she can assess and explore a wide range of areas easily and do other stuff with it; she is a creme of the crop solider so her battle tactics and fighting skills are out of this world.

But honestly, nothing very interesting came out from all her OPness. It could have progressed into something more braindead and shuang wen-ny where she face slaps people with all her awesomeness or inadvertently win glory for her school/ country even though she couldn't care less but it didn't soooo... everything was a little less exciting and all fell kinda flat. For example,
Spoiler

being part of zone 7 that seems to recruit talented teenagers for training (to be come spies). Like WTH? That was like... NONSENSE. The mission was crap. The team was crap. And even Zone 7 itself was crap. Like... It was a complete waste of plot there.

There's also being recruited into the National Defense University. No one really explained how it clashes with being part of Zone 7 and they didn't even make any use of her being in the University. Like why did you even recruit her?

They also made her be part of this research team. After the first day she was there where she "helped" with their research direction, and then??? What's next? That's all! That's literally all! They only find her when bad things happen but never actually make full use of her. I understand that she didn't want to be made full use of but they didn't even try to find ways to entice her. They just left her be like another cannon fodder bystander..

[collapse]

But I did enjoy some of the e-sports part (which was more in line with what I was expecting from the novel and is also the more generic route of what these kind of OP protagonist novels are like) though it wasn't the most developed.

There were some plot holes bit they were meh-ish.

Spoiler

for example there was a foreshadowing of her stepfather maybe being involved with something and along that Film Emperor Cheng guy who keeps appearing but it wasn't really explained unless it was all a buildup for the reveal that he was an investor for the research then... I have nothing to say. Soooo anticlimactic. Also what's with the land being eyed by the foreigners thingy that was brought up. It made no sense there. And the thing with the Japanese thingy (the exchange student and the office building thing) ? Like...? Really made no sense there either. And all the Japanese people in the novel are probably involved in some shady biz geeze. But the good thing is that because she's an alien who is not a nationalist (which was something I liked about this novel), she literally DGAF.

[collapse]
Also since she's a little weird and very bloodthirsty I'm just honest surprised that no one has labelled her as a psycho yet. And all the government/ "secrect agent" stuff is a little underwhelming. And the fact that they didn't forcefully lock her up and let such a bloodthirsty loose cannon around is really not that believable... They could at least try... and fail utterly miserably. That would have made it a little more logical.

The people she meet with all have shallow relationships with her except her bro and her mom. Other than that, they all have very superficial presence and little involvement in the story that it's a wee bit ridiculous.

The thing that erks me the most is the boring talk about her species. I understand it's part of the story development and is her backstory but like I said I don't dig sci-fi silent outerspacey stuff. If you do this novel may be interesting for you. Because TBH it has a really unique world building. And the author really put a lot of thought into creating a whole new species and an entire outer space alliance thingy that make sense. Everything about her species and other alien species that pop up was really well developed and comprehensive. so, it's actually a big big plus point (but not for me hehe)
Spoiler

The part about her soul lamp (borrowing a term from them cultivation novels because I forgot the actual name) being light up at the spirit monument thing was really touching and inspirational.

[collapse]
So don't let my negativity deter you from reading.

There was also the last paragraph of the novel description (in Novel updates) that had me excepting that another one of her species would come and there would be romance involved and it'll be a weird power couple situation but NOPES. Joke's on me. Should have read the tag and see there's no romance.

And last but not least... The translation. It's wayyyy better than MTL and is acuatully an OK quality translation but..."minced lips"??? I think the author meant to say "pursed his lips". Along with a whole bunch of random typos, some paragraphs that were barely understandable, a not very user friendly site (like some of the next chapter were not linked or were broken links and the words were personally too small to be read comfortably) and the fact that I was thinking about dropping it so many times, you can imagine how it is.

I think overall one word to describe the novel is underdeveloped. There were numerous interesting concepts and places the author could have dived into more but they didn't sooo the novel (to me) fell a little flat and felt underwhelming. But hey, it's not a bad novel. It has cool concepts and themes in it that may be just your cup of tea so take my review with a pinch of salt and enjoy the novel with an open mind. <<less

I wanted to love it but it's just OK for me. I don't understand the logic of this supposedly extremely logical being ... more>>
Spoiler

why didn't she make sure she has a grounding in the history she missed while asleep and at least the basic knowledge to function in the world before she starts showing off? Its what any good military personnel would do when plunked down in a new and bewildering environment and she prides herself on being very military minded.

and, to be honest, I found the spy stuff to be irritating and unnecessary, not to mention that anyone in that field would have to pass several deep background and mental health checks, which she would fail, being unable to understand emotions. And her shell a child still in school, no government would hire her for clandestine work in the first place, no matter how skilled she is.

[collapse]

I would have probably loved reading this when I was a teenager but now my brain and that darned critical thinking thing they make you do in college keeps getting in the way; I wasn't able to turn off my brain and so spent a great deal of time thinking "this doesn't make any sense."

The very powerful alien from the very far away galaxy had fallen to Earth since 200, 000, 000 years ago, while in military operation. To survive, it has to be hybernated; wakes up time-to-time to see whether help arrives yet.

As it's composed from pure soul, it needs the corporeal body to exist and operate. One particular girl happens to die near its wake-up place. Thus the story begins.

Reader should always keep in mind that it's the alien-who-wakes-up-and-wants-to-go-back-home, not the alien who wants to become human. Same as human whose... more>> soul falls to the termite world. No one never ever wants to be developed into termite, either body or mind! Even one could become the super-termite, no one!, except he/she is the absolutely mental ret*rd human.

Despite one has to act and do as close as possible to be like ordinary termite, one is still human in mind, soul, value, idea, believe and power.

This alien too. It thinks, acts, reacts according to its norm, not human-being norm.

The novel is funny to be read. But one has to skip over all those cold science and technical knowledges. Author knows nothing about such hard facts. The author had already and clearly stated this truth. Only idiot would criticize this novel based on these errors.

I wasn't expecting much but it is very entertaining and quite funny. By the description and tags I thought it'd be some cringey novel for chuuni girls but this is actually pretty good, although the MC is really good looking and very OP, it's not your "kyaaaa as expected of our MC!!" face slapping novel. I wouldn't go as far as to say this is a masterpiece but this is well worth its read, it's entertaining, funny, and its not cringey. I don't read much sci-fi so I don't know... more>> how generic this could be though.

I have no idea why so many people have it 1 star but my advice is don't judge by review-less ratings. Oh, I guess there's some xenophobia, but it's the typical CN LN stuff, it's not too bad tho. It's how many Chinese people feel, and it wasn't the MC that somehow had these feelings (at least so far), she's an alien after all, its mostly the people around her that have the typical grievances against other countries so I guess it's not a big issue. Sometimes I see people giving novels poor ratings to novels for stuff like this so mayhaps it could be this, I don't know. <<less

I regret relying solely on the star rating to try this incoherent power fantasy genre smash novel without reading the reviews first, in more detail. When you see reviewers ordering the public to not give low ratings because they liked it, or trying to insult more holistic readers because the author has already admitted to product inferiority, they're pretty much declaring that the novel is a piece of junk. As it turns out, the quality of the reviewers must be evaluated too. Please click to read with this in mind.... more>> 2 stars. <<less

very interesting plot but it's quite short (I'm not quite satisfied, the author could have expand storyline more without disturbing the main plot) the story and character is like the other reviews had said.

You might not quite like the FL because of her disdain toward human or her annoying attitude but anyway you might find her lovable after she learned the way of human culture. (I don't quite like the fact that the author make FL look down on a civilization that had just been develop only several thousand years.... more>> It is already quite a great achievement, not counting the fact that the technological advancement is only centuries ago)

Spoiler

the ending is really not satisfying but the other ending might drag the story too long so end with the fact that she's able to go home is good enough. So what with that little romance element!? If you want to make her single then do it, I

The MC is very very similar to Qin Ke Xuan from IMAK, she's apathetic—like a cold-blooded machine. Hope there would be some similar character developments like how QKX became a more 'humane' and empathetic person that can feel emotions. Still waiting for the romance though.
Negative point is the plot can get a little messy (but only a little) and wordy. I like the less-serious atmosphere though, but sometimes it can get a bit bland. Hopefully there would be more action scenes like IMAK.
