Legend has it that Ye Peitian’s blood has the miracle effect of saving the almost dead. The strong human beings swarmed like ants and insects under the banner of justice, just to achieve their ulterior purpose.

Using Yellow Sand to crush all the coveted people, Ye Peitian let his broken body soak in the pool of blood.

A woman appeared on the edge of the battlefield and approached him quietly.

Ye Peitian lightly pulled the corner of his mouth with a little effort, drawing a sneer. Even a low-level saint dared to take the opportunity to take his blood and flesh.

He closed his eyes, however, the woman stooped down and put a warm coat on him.

Ye Peitian:? ? ?

When Chu Qianxun was dying, she saw what happened in another parallel world.

In that world, the big demon that made the world fear him was not a demon, but smiled softly and shyly at her.

For that smile, she stepped on the bloody sea of corpses and carefully approached the brutal bloodthirsty demon.

But she heard the person say: Go away. If you get closer to me, I will make you die badly.

When she really turned around, the corner of her clothes was pulled.

Even if the whole world spurns you, I will hold your hand.

If everyone is afraid of you, then let me love you.

A very cute and fluffy story. ML is like a shy girl and MC is like a rogue when it comes to romance.

So I read this one before Apocalypse/Doomsday Arrival as I didn't realize this was an AU of that novel but both are kind of fun. That one focuses more on the MC while this one is more about the ML's struggle or basically how the MC saves him years later than she did in AA.

The MC in this is a woman who has dreamt of another life which follows almost the same trajectory as the life in AA (while it's implied it's the same life, the MC in AA has... more>> a different power). This leads her to change her ways to become stronger and to help her friends. As well as fall in love with the ML all over again. She doesn't become as OP as she does in AA but she's still strong enough to be on par with most of the enemies/villians.

The ML is a super powerful human who is hunted by everyone as a demon. The MC becomes the first person to show him kindness which leads to him focusing on her as his only ray of light. He's emotionally stunted at the first but will grow and finally make friends (which he does become very proud of). The MC likes to "bully" him as it turns out that he's super shy and reserved when he's not in kill-everything mode. A mode that is very justified.

Spoiler

His father and stepmother abandoned him. People locked him in a shed with demons. Upon being rescued months later, he became a guinea pig for a corrupt religious group who then chopped him up repeatedly and used his blood to make super healing potions that allowed then to become one of the top groups in the world. After he finally freed himself, these are the people who vilified him to the public so he was treated like a monster.

Honestly, the author went to extremes with him and then made him soft and fluffy with just a fear of the dark which really doesn't make sense. Even a good person would go nuts after all that.

[collapse]

The side characters feel more fleshed out in this and they tend to stick around for a lot longer. That being said, it does feel like most of the villains were kind of single dimension or like the author expected the readers to match them up to their counterparts in AA. One pair of villains, however, were a lot more fleshed out so they were fun to read.

Spoiler

However, the "sentient" demon Yu Yu just seemed to take the place of the ice Fallen Saint / Demon in AA as that saint never fell in this story. Same but different.

[collapse]

All of the story aside, the ending is pretty jarring (like AA's ending is but it's worse in this). There is also no real follow up to the final fight/confrontation with the villain. The ending is not even remotely satisfactory outside of what happens to the bad guy but even that just seemed to be a blink-and-you-miss-it moment.

In my opinion, this story is a little bit worse than AA but it's still an alright read. <<less

Everyone has said wonderful points so I’ll just mention my favorite point: the chemistry between the leads. The MC got me and the ML blushing. My bi heart is living for them and I’ve been chasing after romances like this.

they’re both strong people, devoted to each other, and willing to do anything for the other. The dedication between the two is fantastic and I can cry out of happiness (re: jealousy). Highly recommend this series!

This is definitely one of my favorites! The FL worked hard to get stronger, whereas our ML is absurdly strong but hey— his personality balances it out. Their chemistry is 10/10 chef’s kiss, and the side characters are great. They are multidimensional. Give this a try!

This story wasn't perfect but I'm more than willing to give it a perfect score just for the sake of ML. I mean, could he be any cuter than this? Because like MC, I really wanted to spoil him to death and spent my time "bullying" him everyday. ML was also the one who made me forget about how dark this story actually was and made me less depressed while reading it.

Overall, the plot of the story was actually quite good and the world building wasn't done half-heartedly. We even... more>> got an explanation about why demons suddenly appeared on earth. The ending was a happy ending one but I'm a bit dissatisfied about one thing.

Spoiler

The final villain aka the "Father" was defeated a bit too easily. Even Ah Xiao was harder to defeat than the "Father". I don't know what happened to him in the alternate world but I hope the final battle would be more exciting.

I actually like it a lot. Usually, I prefer lighthearted stories and obviously, this one isn't. It shows the darker side of humanity, our selfishness amd the cruelty of reality. But at the same time, it's not a story that is completely focused on the hopelessness of humans. Although it emphasizes and showed egoism, it also presented altruism in a more realistic way. I also like that the characters are more realistic. The FL is not OP but she worked hard to be strong. The ML isn't just a cold... more>> ML with a tragic background but is actually a softie who's forced to put a mask. However, what I love the most is that this is a story of hope and self-healing. Yes, it portrays the ugly side of humanity, but then it is subtly telling us that there's always hope. Reading this is an eye-opener but at the same time, it will help you realized that no matter how cruel our fellow humans are, don't just look at the bad side of the humanity because somewhere out there, some people still do good deeds from the bottom of their heart.

Also, for the first time, I equally like the ML and FL at the same time. I mean, in some of the previous stories I've read, although I like the ML and FL, I still prefer one of them (aka favoritism) but in this story, I would like to say that I love the ML's character design a lot. He's full of scars, inferiority complex, but at the same time, his soul is still pure and beautiful. However, I also like the FL's character. She's strong, domineering (in their relationship fufufu), but still, she recognized her weakness and most of all, I feel like although it's not implicitly shown, her heart is very big (especially shown when she tried to understand Yu Yu instead of hating him to the core). Speaking of Yu Yu, I actually don't know why I kinda find him cute and even if he only appeared at the latter 100 chapters, I quite like him. I mean, his character is hateful but at the same time, he's lovable and cute. I don't know, but anyway, he's cute especially when he's very enthusiastic in listening to stories. I really wished for more chapters about him though.

And lastly, I've heard that there's a sequel or spin off for this story so I immediately looked for it. And maybe, just maybe, if I found that first before this, I might give it a try and who knows, maybe I'll enjoy it since I like badass FLs. However, judging from the synopsis and coupled with the FL' s thoughts and memories in this story, I vaguely know how will the story progress. I also like the reborn troupe but I actually prefer this instead of the spin off because without the tragic experiences of the characters, there'll be no healing. And although there'll be growth, I really prefer this since it's more touching. Anyway, it's a 10/10 for me since the translation is also good. <<less

A gorgeous love story. I never really enjoyed romance where the FL is the more aggressive one in the relationship, but this works out beautifully to contrast the ML'S innocence in love and cruelty in dealing with his aggressors. Both of the main chars had a lot of character building.

A theme of this novel is being true to yourself through the darkest moments, and eventually you'll be able to find like minded people. Although the ML suffered through the most horrific forms of torture and what felt like eternal loneliness,... more>> he was able to retain innocence & kindness which blossomed with the careful cultivation of the MC. There were people around them who also didn't give up on kindness despite the awful environment and circumstances they were plunged into.

Spoiler

Two of such people were the siblings who didn't rat out the ML despite being offered money that they desperately needed. The brother had to prostitute his body to raise his blind sister & he had debt that would make him serve the lowest of the low if defaulted. Despite that, and after being saved, he risked a lot to keep mum. The ML rewarded them by curing the sister's blindness. There's more to it, but basically both sides didn't give up on their humanity.

These siblings stood out a lot to me because this was a world where parents can abandon their children in a heartbeat or sell them for profit. In fact, one of the high powered side characters had both his parents ran away and left him for dead. Yet this brother would do anything to keep his sister safe.

[collapse]

In the very beginning, the MC mentioned that the world was now a place where telling someone they're kind is an insult. Being kind was s*upid because every person is trying to survive by being selfish. We later realize that it only takes 1 moment of kindness extended to the right person that it can spread and be repaid 10 fold. <<less

Damnnn this is just too good. It's a great read. Completely satisfied my search for powerful female lead romance. It doesn't go much depth about the mysterious origin of the demons though I wish it had, maybe it will in book two. I will rate this a 9/10 in my book. ≪3

The last part felt a bit rushed/empty but overall I really enjoyed the relationship between the MC and ML not only is the FL the assertive one most of the time, which is a nice change, she doesn't take it to toxic levels like a domineering-ceo-ML would in the same situation lol. But I liked how they supported each other and communicated through their problems. Because of that, it was cute when the MC teased the ML rather than being uncomfortable.

Fluff, Ye Peitan deserves the best. Anyone who dares disturb it, 🔪🔪🔪.

It was quite bizarre. Not anything I had read before. Anyway, I recommend this one for light reading. Prepare tissues when you get to the end. I had been trying to fully hate a certain villain but it just made me tear up. I'm not sure if I am ready to read the alternate story since they say it's more emotionally draining.

This is really a good story. I binged read both book. And it’s an excellent story. And yes, as many reviewers said, pls read the 1st book first. As it’s explained alot of the background/ previous happenings. (The mtl version is really not bad, and you won’t loose much braincells)

The story touch alot on humanity or lack of it in the demonise world. Alot of cruel acts and survival of the fittest on play here. FL also try to survive in the harsh conditions where the strong survive... more>> and the weak is dirt. Maybe because what happened in the 1st book she change alot and try to improve herself and find back her love, (the sweet cinnamon ML) I like the FL and her interaction with ML. There’s alot of role reversal in their relationship. (FL is the one whose always tease, and top our ML) To be honest for me the 1 st book explains alot of background of each characters on how they come to be and actually have a lot more heart wrenching moments. But also maybe because of the sad background FL manage to save quite alot of people. (But actually those people safe or kind to her in this world.) The only unexplained things here is how FL can live in these 2 world. But it’s really doesn’t matter, as the story is about people survive in this apocalypse world. And yes author really shows how cruel “human” can be in the name of survival.

I really recommend this book, and read the 1 st one. Our ML is very adorable in the 1st book and their interaction is also very cute. Even the setting were really sad and cruel as always there’s also hope.. Thank you <<less

It’s a good story. I would suggest to read the alternate novel first “apocalypse arrival” as there are a lot of references to this other story. It doesn’t impede from understanding the novel but add a another layer once you have the references. You also a gain a deeper understanding of both stories. The other novel references this one as well. Both FL and ML are great, development of the story is also good. I feel story is a bit too short and there are still holes that were not... more>> covered. Not a fan of apocalypse stories in general but both this one and the alternate story were very enjoyable. <<less

This is so damn good! Albeit there are some depressing parts, YP's life was really miserable, it has it's moments of 'awww' that melts your heart.

Life isn't always fair, you can't control what happens BUT you can control how you respond to it.

Another amazing gem.

My only gripe was the ending was a bit rushed but besides that really worthwhile read. ML is tough but so gentle with the FL. It was wonderful following his journey opening up to the FL and those around him.

The story is quite different from anything I've read before. It's actually quite interesting. With the first chapter, we are thrown into a bizarre world and as the following chapters fill up the details of the world, we are introduced to the lead characters.

This is quite adorable and heartwarming actually. A female lead who doesn't shy away from expressing herself and a villanous cinnamon roll of a male lead. And I just can't stop myself from just yelling for them to get together (which they do.. Quite early at that... more>> too so the fluff that follows will heal you). I actually like the development of the characters as well, not only the leads I mean but other side characters as well, I came to like a lot of them and most characters are grey so that adds a certain depth to it. I felt so sad by the back story of the ML, but it's so reassuring that he could get out of his past and live a better life.

Lastly, I think the ending was VERY rushed, albeit it was satisfactory but not very good. I would've preferred a better closure to everything, as it just felt like the author suddenly gave up writing the ending arc of the story and just went yea I'm done. They got their happy end. The end. So.. That was quite abrupt and ngl left some serious loose threads

Well, even with that it was actually an interesting read with good character development. Would recommend to read to heal your soul. <<less

I love it! The story was pretty entertaining for me with a good amount of fluff, decent plot, good characterization and worldbuilding though I'm kinda unsatisfied with how the ending was kinda rushed. Still sad that there's no extra for this story _ (._.) _

Go check out the alternate story too (apocalypse arrival) if you curious about our FL's dream experience~

I'll rate this as 4.5/5 because of the softness of the ML that led on continuous battle with same person.

Spoiler

Err I know like they were comrades but he kept on betraying the ML so how come he only died at the end. This frustrated me. Also, the fight between them and organization was really fast. Lol

I like how open the FL and she's taking the lead.

[collapse]

It's worthwhile to read this. But the end is like kinda meh for me since it ended just like that.

Edited. I found that there's really story about the parallel world. Too bad since this got posted first since it seems like that should be the first one. <<less
