I know it's too early to write a review but I can't help it! It's really good and very funny. There isn't mich interaction with the female protagonist and male protagonist yet but I can understand from the perspective of the female protagonist.

You just found out your husband would divorce you after 10 years of marriage. And replace you with someone else, even though she saw it in a dream. It made her see another side of her husband. That he was the kind of man who could throw away... more>> their marriage just like that. I too, would disdain such a husband and do everything in my power to avoid him until the date of divorce. I really like the story. It's not overly romantic and has an FL who wants to work on herself which is awesome. So many toxic tropes being challenged which I love! Translator has done an awesome job at providing updates and I'm looking forward to them coming back from hiatus. ;)

For those looking for romantic fluff, I'd advise to stay away. This is more focused on building a career, about putting your all. It starts out with some funny premises, but with each work release, it makes you think.

His mother keep blaming hia father cause his father cant males money and then diforce, so he keep thinking that by making much more money could make her happier

There is much to say about this book, after all I picked it up looking for something light and fluffy to pass the time. I figured it might be a bit of a comedy too since the main character is trying to make her husband poor... however, the entire summary of this book is misleading—be warned.

This book is about a failing marriage due to a lack of communication that started on the husband’s side. Therefore, the MC (his wife) decides not care anymore and further her own goals by... becoming... more>> a tv/movie producer... what? This whole plot is so random and not even close to what I was expecting this story to be about. But ok. Sure, it was nice seeing some growth and independence from a female character. She’s definitely a strong female lead, but honestly her lack of communication with her husband was really bothering me.

Furthermore, the plot is a little boring and bland to read, and I’m not getting attached to any other characters except the MC. No other characters really make me feel for them, which is unfortunate. I will say that the plot for the mountain drama she produced was really good and I enjoyed that ‘arc’ but everything else is a little boring.

As for romance, I realized I wasn’t going to get anything in depth until the end (most likely). That Wen girl is literally irrelevant and barely even a plot device—an unnecessary one. Honestly

Overall this is a good story, but it was just not what I was expecting, nor was it something I was wanting to read at this time. I only picked it up because I was curious about the summary. Yet everything in the summary is basically only 5% of this story and it doesn’t describe the actual description of this novel’s plot. Therefore, I will probably pick this up again in future. For now, hasta la vista. <<less

Novel was meh. I guess if you wanted one where MC finds her own way in life with minimal romance, but boring, you can try this novel. I'm not against non romance novels, but if there is no romance angst and s*upid drama, then you need to supplement it with something else to keep me entertained. This novel did not do that.

A great novel but the ending feel a little lacking. The ending is not bad but when you have parts where it pumps you up. You expect the ending of the novel to flourish to a grand finale. All in all I quite like the interaction between the female lead and male lead. The romance centred on misunderstanding but instead of miraculous quick fix. We have the male lead making an effort to understand her. Much better than little fresh meats you see in every other Josei novel.

I really like it! It's refreshing, slow, and the introduced characters are good. There's not much drama which makes sense given that the husband and wife are smart and capable people. This really is just a feel good-comedy-novel about meeting people and working hard. Remember: They founded their business together but she just stood down because she felt like that's what wives do. If you're looking for overbearing CEO romance whatever IT'S NOT HERE!

I'm quite engaged with arcs right now because there's a description regarding the film in the novel. Especially

New readers have to adapt a lot if they're not familiar with Chinese phrasing or something because there aren't footnotes and the translation is bit off. It's still understandable, but if you don't get it, I suggest reading more c novels.

It's a very refreshing novel as the focus is not on romance but more on building characters particularly the MC. If you're asking on why don't she just spent all the money by buying stuff or donating to charities? Well, she has her reasons (Chapter 1).

I deducted a star because even though I like the MC and the story flow, I'm still sad that the ML (ex-hubby and possible future hubby) don't get that much appearance.

I just binge-read this all day: really entertaining! Our MC originally starts out as a woman completely focused on her husband. She has the intention of losing but discovers she has the unlucky (but actually lucky) knack of making money and helping others. She ends up developing her own identity and career! The love story is definitely in the backdrop but it’s satisfying to see MC establish herself and the ML realize where he’s wrong.

The story starts out strong, but gets boring and repetitive fast. MC invests in a terrible project (monetarily, but she generally tries to keep the artistic vision going - she doesn't want to just burn money and waste it, she wants to spend it up in a decently worthwhile though completely unprofitable manner). There is shenanigans where another project coincidentally (or not so coincidentally after the first afair) ends up in a rival spot, and her project handily defeats it. Rinse and repeat with a slightly different style, each time... more>> earning the MC more worshipers.

Also, the romantic subplot is... lacking. It truly feels like the author just shoves in a line or two when they find the room. I realize it's a 'subplot' only, but the pacing feels very off. Just because it's a subplots doesn't mean that its timing doesn't matter at all. Still, what there was of it was rather well described - not a bang of a young marriage exploding, but the whimper of a midlife crisis in a collapsing decade long marriage. The secretary and all her shenanigans are a catalyst not the reason. <<less

Currently on chapter 37 on MTL.

I usually give my reviews after completing or dropping a novel and I have to say I'm very close on dropping this novel.

There's not much to say, although I love the idea of a novel focusing on the derailing relationship of our main CP, author is dragging this on wayyyyyy too long. It's almost half of the novel and so far the scenes FL and ML have shown up together is about 5% and they barely had any communication between each other. I can probably... more>> count the times they've met with each other on one hand... I get it, their relationship is bad and they don't communicate much but holy god damn, can we get something atleast??? It's so goddamn boring!

The novel focuses wayyyyyy too much on the showbiz. Most of the chapters are mostly just netizen comments, that's how annoying it is to read and skim through. It's so goddamn annoying, I didn't come to read a bunch of comments! If I wanted to eat s*upid melons I could've just gone on YT or something!!

Also, aside from FL's first investment using ML's money she practically becomes a golden koi fish everytime she touches a new project. She doesn't even touch any of his money after that so the title of the novel is fake bait, it has nothing to do with her making him go bankrupt.

The only thing I liked was the fact that she stopped making ML the center of her world and found enjoyment in something else. She became the boss of her own life and knew to live for herself rather than for someone else.

2/5 stars, it had a good idea but failed to live up to it. Boring and dull, the MTL of all the s*upid comments and showbiz drags the novel down.

(side note: author likes using 'zhu' too much, so many characters had the 'zhu' character got too confusing when they would call them A'Zhu or ZhuZhu (ie Zhu Yushen, Zhu Xufang, Jin YouZhu, Zhuo Zongyi, etc) <<less

In my opinion, the story itself is not bad. But I had to drop it at 52 coz I just couldn't make heads or tails of the horrible excuse of a translation anymore. It looks like a group was translating the story, but ended up dropping it two years ago, so it's all MTL after that.

Anyways, like I said, the story itself is not half bad and is actually a pretty fun read. The MC is very likable and the side characters are pretty legit. If you're okay with the... more>> translation after ch 36, then go ahead and read it.

I feel it's a pity that I couldn't get myself to read any more tho 🙃 <<less

Definitely a 5 star in my opinion. Great character development between the FL and ML as one learns to have her own opinions while the other begins to acknowledge his short comings and work to better himself for the person he loves. Lots of business/film but the drop of romance every now and then makes for a satisfying story.

If you come for romance this isn't for you. Up until now (my lastest chapter) it is about MC trying to do petty revenge to her husband

While I don't like the way they communicate, I'm fine with it, since I know the awkwardness talking to each other after cold war, or don't know to mend things.

Also I feel the FL is dumb, out of everything why the hell she made that choice!! ("Lin Meng decided to get out of marriage and do her best to spend money, make... more>> her husband feel the smell of bankruptcy."), Idk the FL logic, I need to throw my logic for that one.

But the thing I do enjoy and recommend is the... business that FL do!!!!

  • All of movies she make is fantastic, I love the creative idea author make for her movie!, and the way she done it. I recommend it a lot for inspiration. (the movie she make not the overall story itself), because it is very interesting, I love every movie she made!
  • She waste the money to make herself feel happy, making me time, which she didnt have back then, she always thinking of her husband
  • The way she appreciate someone skill, and the way she treat her employee
  • The way she pay attention to small detail of movie set, and the way she done her job as producer / investor
  • I'm kinda agree with her, talent or something looks good isn't always have commercial value / sell well, while it is looks good, she is gambling by that knowledge.
  • The True Dream tag line!!! I like it very much, make all your dreams came true
  • Oh my gosh a company who value art value over commercial value, I bet in that world, the movie she produce is one of classic movie!

First of all, the translation is VERY BAD. You might as well just MTL the whole novel. Second, the story barely talked about the relationship between the FL and ML. 80% of the story focused on the FL and her business. The thing is, when I actually started to read the romance part of it, I was disappointed the author did not build more on it. The concept was there and the plot in relation to the romance part was promising, but the chunk on FL's business projects was just... more>> too much. If the author actually took an active approach in the relationship between ML and FL, we could have seen a better novel. There are just some missing points in between. This novel was just a bit disappointing, because the romance aspect was very promising, but the author decided to be too passive with the characters and their interaction.

I don't know, I suppose the novel just reeks of disappointment for me. Both ML and FL could have avoided all the problem if they actually talked about their insecurities in the relationship and how they could fix it. They both could have been a strong power couple, but... yeah. <<less

When I read the title I was really excited to read this novel. But I was little bit disinterested in it after reading a few chapters. The plot is mainly focused on the growth of the female lead career (although her main goal was to make her husband bankrupt) but I really hoped for more romance. The male has the least role in the novel from my point of view. The leads has very less interactions. If summed up all their interactions would just be 3-4 % of the novel.... more>> The interactions can't even be considered fluffy enough.

The plot was okay and can be considered a good read. <<less

The story is great. It manage to put dust on my eyes. I think the translator made a fantastic job translating it.

The translation might felt inorganic in some place. I think most Chinese translations I've read also have the same problem. May be they are afraid to rephrase them. It may have the risk of backlash or some meaning lost in translation.

However, I am really enjoying this novel translation much. This is a good story and a good translation.
