Regressor, Reincarnator, Possessor, Traveler, or Predestined. I will hunt down the protagonists that exist in the countless worlds and absorb their abilities.

Here lies the protagonist.

The continent’s hope.

The hero who will save the world.

The hero who currently has a hole through his chest!

With the Spirit of Earth, freed the Dwarfs and gained their trust.

Purified the contaminated Forest of Spirits and became the Fairies’ benefactor.

Resealed the Ancient Stone statues found in one of the ruins.

Exterminated the giant sea serpent that emerged from the sea.

Defeated the 47th Demon Lord of the underworld…

“Aside from assaults and mu*ders there were other death related incidents as well as vandalism, arson, and etc…”

“S-spare me…”

Psh!

That was the protagonist.

But now, he has died by my hands.

The novel has an interesting premise, but the execution is lacking. The author is a master of the art of lazy writing. What is lazy writing? It's when the MC pulls things out of his ass when he needs them without the reader having any knowledge of said object being up the MC's ass. The author does nothing to explain the MC's backstory to leave plenty of space for himself to tack things on at will.

For example:

Oh, the MC is a F-rank hunter, the weakest of all hunters, but actually,... more>> hunters aren't weak at all even if they don't have superpowers because of technology, and the MC happens to be a master at using technology.

Oh, by the way, there's this amazing gate thing that has an extremely low survival rate, but the MC lived through it and only the strongest hunters know about that because the knowledge is top secret.

Oh, did I mention the MC picked up magic while doing a mission? No, I didn't? Well, he did. And then he used it like he's been using it for years.

The author likes to expound on the MC's patience. An F-rank hunter hunts by being patient! He spends hours hunting a rank F, days hunting a rank E, up to a month hunting a rank D! So, as a reader, you're stuck wondering what about rank A or S because he apparently hunted those too. Did he spend years doing that? How? He's only been a hunter for 15 years. With travel times and the time he spent in that gate, how many monsters has he actually killed? The author writes a lot of ideas he thinks are good, but he doesn't plan them out before writing them.

However, despite the lazy writing, the novel is pretty interesting. There's a few problems with the translation switching between third and first person every other sentence in some chapters, but if you read a lot of mtl, you won't even notice a thing. The way the MC executes his plans are pretty smart. It's not, swing big sword, monster dies. He actually uses his brain, which can't be said for a lot of novels.

Unfortunately, the author is a fan of tell not show, where he tells you what happens instead of showing you. He'll tell you the MC learned magic, but won't show you how. He'll tell you the MC fixed some magic circles, but won't show you how. He'll tell you the MC killed a monster, but he won't show you how. The fights are severely lacking description. "His sword style was like a dance." Okay. How was it like a dance? The author doesn't show it. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the first novel the author has ever written.

Good idea, bad writing, 3/5. I'm caught up on the current chapter (c51), and I'll likely continue reading it. It's not terrible, but it's not great. <<less

Honestly, this is a Korean novel which in my opinion is not bad, but there is something I really hate about the MC personality, namely the nature of sharing his OP skills with others without strings attached, instead he aims to do that to everyone on earth that makes me feel like throwing up, MC's goal that I just realized in chapter 42, is that he wants to spread OP magic and sword arts that he got from other worlds to earth without asking for anything in return, he wants... more>> to teach everyone on earth to be able to do magic and OP Sword art for free, I feel the MC just wants to make a riot on Earth with his s*upid nature, I really hate this s*upid MC, I feel like I've wasted time reading this novel <<less

Heya translator. I'm gonna need more.

I love antihero protagonists. This protagonist is an antihero protagonist. While he's not the most unique protagonist, being another F-Class hunter that needs to bet his all to succeed, it's written very well so far. Somewhere between 4-5*?

Check it out.

Edit (c106) : Unfortunately there's harem in the novel so just be warned. Gonna drop because of it, but that's just my taste.

I think it went downhill. The best part about it for me was him visiting new worlds, learning magic and swordsmanship, but after that, it just didn't happen as often. Also, would be nice if him being a 15-year-old veteran wasn't mentioned so often. Feels like the author points it out in every chapter. The power ranking also feels weird. Apparently, he can

before, just because he's smart and experienced? How does that make sense? It feels like he should be the protagonist at this point. But even though it has some plot holes and gets a bit boring later on, it's still worth the read in my opinion. Especially for the different worlds he travels to, I found that really interesting. <<less

Interesting premise in that the MC has to hunt other protagonists. However, the novel is crippled by it's inability to properly incorporate power creep. All the benefits and abilities that the MC receives feel inconsequential and left by the wayside and oftentimes he can clear missions without relying on his newfound abilities at all. The MC is more intellectual than your average protagonist but even he makes questionable choices here and there which leave you scratching your head.

The fact that the abilities MC acquires from other worlds are inconsequential make... more>> the journeys themselves feel inconsequential. It's not very satisfying either when the MC has to work tooth and nail for every inch of profit where other people from his world are well beyond the MC without ever having had to lift a finger. It feels lazy and unmotivated. <<less

For the early hunts, it was good. Instead of overwhelming power or something he actually used his brain and hunted the protagonists in a clever way. But it went sh*t after the returnee arc. It became your typical kr novel after that.

I am bored because of repetitive nature of this novel. My this comment shouldn't be percepted as bad comment. This novel is way better than other korean style of "dungeons came to earth", "hunters started to appear" etc.

This novel is kind of valuable for its content which MC is hunting "protagonists". Most litrpg/reincarnation/isekai or other similar genre novel's protagonists are cheaters. They portrayed as heroes but they are lazy cheaters stealing other characters achiviements or labor then walking around with harem which most of time consist of s*aves.

This novel was... more>> good refresher for me. MC hunts these hypocrite b*stards and I really enjoyed it.

But this novel's down side is that it is repetitive and started to bore. Except the hunting parts -which later became repetitive as I said and hunting parts also became boring, story is boring, cliche as other novels so we can say this novel is contradict with itself. MC shouldn't became a protagonist but he is!

I would like it if this novel has no story but MC hunting protagonist. No guild creating, no harem, no F rank hunter became populer, no no no. Just travel a world, hunt a protagonist in couple of chapters then continue. This could be real fun and wouldn't contradict with itself or repetitive.

Therefore, just read first 60 chapters then drop it. This novel could go hundreds or maybe thousand chapter but it wont worth it. First 50-60 fine. <<less

A truly unique concept.

What if the protagonist's plot armor is draining the life of the world, hence they must be killed.

It shows the kind of plot twists in fantasy/isekai stories we wanted to see that we know won't happen.
From korean stories cliches with gaming system, reincarnated shoujo or villain, and ofcourse the generic isekai-ed japanese guy. It let's us see a different side of these stories and enjoy how the MC makes use of any loophole or strategy to hunt the protagonists. And I don't think I can... more>> look at fantasy stories MC the same after reading this.

MC is also really likeable. Smart, resourceful, and eventhough he's not that much of an OP, he knows how to maximize his strengths. The romance or harem (?) is not that toxic, and MC isn't dense either.

Really recommended.

... But if you're curious why only 4 stars. It's because of that
Spoiler

Among Us arc (5chaps).

Yes! That. Lol.
I get it, it's a trending topic but... IT'S SUCH A HUGE CURVEBALL! hahaha
It kinda broke the flow for me.

And my personal favorite arc is the generic isekai-ed japanese guy story. Oh my god that was so satisfying! Seeing how the MC tr*shed this genre and the protagonist that are usually so full of plot holes and s*upid logic (ie why are male adventurers fully armored while the girls are wearing skimpy ones) <<less

Maybe the best Korean new series I have read this year (released recently). It makes fun (and the MC hunts them) of many other cliche protagonist stereotypes like regression/reincarnation/harem seeking etc. The MC starts off as a 15 year F class "veteran" who uses technology and experience to fight higher level "protagonists" and monsters. Many Korean series start off strong and deteriorate fast, I hope that doesn't happen for this one, 5 stars for now.

I really love this novel.

To people saying it is clinche, it is supposed to be clinche. MC goes to other worlds and kill protagonists that you have read about in many novels like the typical korean MC, chinese wuxia MC, dungeon MC.

His power up is not slow, its just that other protagonists are too powerful. They can destroy worlds, if MC gains a perk of perfect sword genius, or more mana of course he cant fight against them.

MC is not your typical MC. He is a genius. Before the system... more>> he was really weak but he survived the dungeons because of his sharp mind, it was almost like a miracle. When he later gains new abilities he utilises them in a very good way.

The system is very well done. MC has aura of a man who has gone through a lot, he is not immature.

MC is hella smart. When he goes to hunt protagonists he doesnt defeat them by using force but somehiw turns the whole world against them by clever schemes.

There are now 110 chapters translated, so read on, the chapters are pretty long. <<less

This is excellent, I recommend it.

Pro

  • MC is experienced, mentally mature, and clever, but not some kind of crazy cold psycho, nor pe*verted. Just a dude who experienced too much too long. The way he solves problems is well thought, it's not always brute force, but a clever use of his experiences.
  • The idea is very interesting, it kinda reminds of the old show quantum leap for the setup, cliches for once are here for a reason, and I'm really curious on where this is going, with the mysterious background set up.
  • All characters are more or less developed, at least a little.
  • There is hints of subtle romance, it looks good.
  • High quality translation.
Con

  • First chapters were weak, character and story wise, but it got better after.

New spin on the typical isekai/op chars novel where a player goes back in time or is reincarnated into another world. Don't let the 3 star rating deter you from giving this novel a try, it's got cliches, and its niches but its still a decent read. The reason for the low score is because the MC in this novel is the "Protagonist hunter" and most readers love to self insert into one of those characters.

The MC hunts protagonists in various worlds and dimensions because they break the natural balance... more>> of life, every successful hunt, he gets to live a bit longer and steal their skill (s). The writer makes some great points at how annoying it is when some useless nobody comes along and steals other peoples hard work and research after going back in time or being sent to another world with plot shield and OP skills.

I'd rate this around a 4~, its got flaws, but its different than most of the kr novels here with a smart MC, plus you get to be on the "other side" of the protagonists POV and get to realize how much of a scum they are. <<less

Aha. I see a lot of reviews here that state 'problems' before actually getting anywhere. In my opinion, I think the novel is pretty damn good. And to address the issue of the MC losing his common sense or whatnot, the author actually discusses that in the novel itself. Unfortunately for the other readers, they didn't get that far.

It's all character development baby. He WAS ruthless. He WAS cold-hearted. He WAS someone who had nothing to lose. But as the story progresses, the MC discovers more about himself, and more... more>> about the others around him. He learns to live. He learns to embrace his existence, and he learns about power beyond strength and combat. Love, Friendship, Hope, Empathy, whatever. He discovers them all. Travelling through worlds, living life in his world, the MC develops greater than what he was at the start. He forms a connection to the world which binds him to reality. He no longer resigns himself to death, because he's discovered something greater than himself. And he learns to live for it. Now if you can call that being mindless. Then I don't know.

Now we got that out of the way, let's talk about the actual novel itself. It's pretty damn interesting, travelling through different worlds and killing protagonists, fun stuff. Though there's a lot of talk about probability, space-time, SF blah blah, it really does get you thinking and speculating, which is a sign that you've become immersed into the novel. That's a plus sign. And the blend of his world and travelling to other worlds is pretty well done. Never feels like he's away from one aspect for too long, and the author does a good job of reasonably pulling him in and out of every world so the story continues to flow smoothly.

As for the action and combat. It's decent. Not something I really prioritized in this novel, but it's good to see the MC kick ass from time to time. And his power is never unreasonable in my opinion. What the MC lacks for in strength, he makes up for with great wit and strategy. But as the novel progresses, the MC's options open up a little more and can brute strength certain missions need be. The characters apart from the MC are good too. I can really only recall the girls in the story, but they're all very cute and unique so who cares about the random dudes. The harem members all love the MC for different reasons, and are able to show their affection to him and devote themselves in different ways. I for one, love them all :) I can see this ending in a true harem fashion, wouldn't make sense for it not too considering how attached and devoted every girl is to the MC (also something my inner degenerate is wishing for hehe).

For me personally, I've genuinely enjoyed reading this novel, and look forward to every release. As for the future translated chapters of this novel? I don't know. Maybe it's a downhill from where I've read up to. Maybe this is the peak. But as for right now currently? I definitely recommend this as a read. <<less

Was doing actually quite well until the hack who vomits this out started breaking its own world rules. After 2 separate arcs of protagonist clichés being applied to their protagonist hunter which doesn't get clichés the whole world is just ruined. Hack ran out of materials and just started writing mediocre clichés into their world. Complete and utter garbage now.

I had to rewrite this review because clicking on another tab somehow deletes my entire draft, so I'm a little pissed and this is going to be a tad short.

plenty of cliches like Underestimated MC, skill-stealing, F-Rank teaches S-Rank, c*cky opponents.

However, MC is not dependent on his new skill stealing abilities. His long life experience is the main selling point, even to those around him. As stated by a character, his monstrous protag stolen skills are just a fraction of his power. His true power comes from the 15 years... more>> of hunting experience. That alone was enough to relieve much of the cliche for me.

Upon reading further, I've realized that this is extremely exciting to read. There's so many different kinds of protagonist tropes that our MC will fight, and the ways he's beaten a few of them already are truly fascinating. What a genius MC is. Some methods are little simple, but all are very satisfying. I simply cannot wait for more. <<less

This was originally a novel with a. Very interesting concept, but it got completely ruined by its lazy writing.

The power balance is completely f*cked. The author never took his time to fix the various power balance problems that has been appearing in this novel. An F rank can beat a B rank. People who isn't even the MC can rise from F rank to C rank in months. And some of the skills of the MC are not even explained properly on its power.

Then there's the insane amount of plot... more>> holes. It's impossible to list them out one by one. Every time a new arc appears, a new plot hole appears together with it. And the author never bothered to fix it in the later chapters.

But those are not even the real problems, even with that, the novel can still be entertaining with cool powers, fighting style, and a good concept. And those elements did exist at first, but all of it is ruined after the Murim arc. The MC's unique fighting style using every tool at his disposal got replaced with a generic sword and magic. His genius ideas of setting up traps and plans for his enemies got replaced with generic beat downs. And The MC's personality became more and more generic. Everything turned generic, and the unique points of this novel got completely buried. And, one of the best part of this novel is the MC traveling dimensions to hunt protagonists. But after the Murim arc, the frequency of the travels got halved, and most of the plot started happening in your generic hunter and gates settings, which makes things less and less interesting.

And this is a novel that contains harem. Harem isn't really a problem for me, but the real problem is that most of the harems are bad, and, unfortunately, this novel's harem also belongs to the "bad" category. Half of the harem members have silver hair, and everyone except Taylor has a personality that you've seen in other novels.

The novel also ignores a lot of stuffs that should be discussed in more detail, but the author decides to not talk about them.

In conclusion, this novel is bad, but at least it's entertaining. Well, before the Murim arc at least, after that, it became completely tr*sh. So I suggest you to stop reading before that arc if you're going to read it. <<less

39 chapters in, I'm getting little burn out.

The main plus side of this story are definitely MC hunting the protagonist arcs. Those are the main arcs of the story, each time MC visiting new world and having to manurer around it's setting and finding a creative way to get the protagonist killed.

At the same time, those arcs are basically deconstruction of various genres that point out how ridiculous the plot of most novels are.

However the main world in which MC lives and everything that has to do with it is total garbage. When MC hunts protagonist, the cliches are deconstructed and it's pointed out how little sense a lot of developments in novel make and how in those novels everything always goes protagonist's way.

It's really difficult to make myself read the main world storyline where we see all those cliches happening to MC of this novel. There are a lot of parts that make no sense and power system is an absolute mess even without MC gaining powers from other worlds.

This is truly Novel that fights the cliches in the hunting parts while completely relishing in those cliches in the main world part. <<less

I admit there are many shortcomings to this novel. Lazy writing, bad to meh translations, and perspective changes can be confusing.

But goddamn I love this novel so much. The concept is great, I love antiheroes, and I love the cliche breaking. I only wish that we could get a translation that isn’t a slightly polished MTl.

This novel is gold and the translator is doing a good job in translating it.

This novel is about a man that is about to die because of unknown disease but suddenly he get a system to kill protagonist (for your information not all protaganist is a good guy)

Eventhough the plot seems cliche but it is unique as the MC is not weak he just go from strong to stronger as he get the system.
