This is a good read. Love the emperor. Blake is cute & FL is big hearted.

I didn't like Ser, she's a goddess with power but so s*upid. Whatever happened to her she asked for it. I can't sympathize with her (Ser knows/saw how Philip look at MC accdg to fb if I remembered correctly).

Philip is a c*ckroach.

Overall, I think the story is okay, not good nor bad.

If you have some free time and don't know how to spend it, maybe you can try reading this story. To be honest it took me some time to read this, a few times I stopped and read another story, then when I was in the mood I would read this novel again. Sometimes I only read 1-2 chapters, sometimes I don't even finish 1 chapter, other times I read more than 10 chapters. It's just that the story is... more>> okay, not too exciting nor too boring. <<less

I like it, the plot is okay for my taste, not super good but not bad too. I love the interaction between the emperor and the daughter-in-law, for the emperor and the crown prince... well I feel sad for both of them but after reading the side story I feel relief, they were so cute. Ngl, I cried when the crown prince finally call the emperor "Father", it's so heartwarming.

First of all, I think the story is not that bad if you binge it since it's completed now. Most of the bad reviews are from those who follow the updates when the chapters are released. There's too much things going on and too much cliff/suspense.

Regarding the plot, it felt like it's very Korean indeed. The dramatic point is slightly over the top as usual and there are a bit too much plot twist than people generally prefer in a novel.

But I think the author managed to tie the loose... more>> end nicely.

Btw, the translation needs an editor because the pronoun is all over the place. Many times I caught the wrong pronoun and it got me confused who is speaking or who is being referred. <<less

Such a cute story!! It is cliche but it was definitely interesting. The writing was amazing and so professional that I really thought I was reading the non-translated version of the story. The emotions were displayed brilliantly and an overall 'MUST-READ'!!

This is surprisingly an interesting story. It somewhat has a "Beauty and The Beast" and "Little Mermaid" vibes all over. I want to give this 5 stars but there's one thing that I found a bit annoying and made me decide to reduce 1 star.

It's about the infamous Goddess of Light, Serphania (Ser), who claimed to be MC's best friend. Ser fell in love with MC's childhood friend, Philip (aka Richard in the current timeline). She even unhesitatingly gave her power to Philip in order to help him gain the throne, unaware that she was being used by him. MC tried to prevent Ser giving Philip her power because it will change Ser into a human but Ser didn't care and even accused MC driving a wedge between her and Philip.

After gaining Ser's power, Philip spreaded a disease that killed royal family members and so many other citizens, including MC's fiance, Rakshul (Blake, ML in the current timeline). MC was heartbroken but she didn't blame Ser. She even gave up her power to Ser so she could fight Philip but Ser was hesitant in the last moment after Philip said that he loved her, resulting Ser being imprisoned by Philip in the Valley of the Chaos for a thousand years. Then Ser desprately tried to leave a message in the form of "curse" that was inherited in the royal family descendant so anyone could free her from Valley of the Chaos.

MC managed to dechiper Ser's message and went to free Ser. But Ser was ungrateful and even blamed MC for her misfortune. She even killed in MC in a rage after seeing that MC was so protective towards ML but then she regretted it. Ser decided to swap her sould with MC so MC won't die. MC manage to come back alive in Ser's body but she lost her voice and also her ability.

When she came out from Valley of the Chaos, 7 years was already passed. She met ML again and ML managed to recognize her even though she was in a different body. But Ser didn't stop there. She threatened MC that she will die after 100 days if she didn't want to kill Blake. Not only that, she also used MC's body to impersonate MC and tried to seduce him just to prove that their love were shallow. Did she think that all me are like that scum Philip? Ugh, I really want to smack her so bad.

Ser knew cleary that it was all Philip's fault. It was also because her own s*upidity. How dare she blame MC when back then she indirectly killed MC's fiance. She even teamed up with Richard to kill ML. Why didn't she take revenge to Philip directly?

In the end, she repented herself and even imprisoned Richard in Valley of Chaos for eternity but I still couldn't forget how she treated MC back then.

The ending is quite satisfying. I love how ML managed to make up with his father (the emperor). Also, there is a royal wedding too.

Note: although in the description the setting is in R-19 novel, in fact there is no R-19 scene at all in this novel. So don't expect too much. <<less

Overall, the story was just okay.

The translation is very good. The only problem would be sometimes I didn't exactly realize who is talking during conversations.

The characters are a bit off, like how the MC is just way too magnanimous and forgiving and the villains are just crazy and insane. It's not like I hate them but their not the best portrayal of characters or the tropes they play.

The only thing I really had a problem with is the different style of writing. It was my first Korean webnovel translation and the different perspectives and the style of writing just threw me off the whole way. This is more to do with my own self and not on the author or translator.

Overall, the story was okay and just a bit one-dimensional with the characters and the plot. I gave four stars because it wasn't horrible or hateful. <<less

I just love it!

For me personally, this story is more of a fairytale, but that’s a big plus. And translators did a very good job!
it was so light and easy to Ruth at I finished it in 2 days.

There we have a logical plot, with adventures and quite unexpected turns and twists. Nice and strong main characters and even smart and a bit crazy villain.
The world is good, the characters are different and nice. And Blake cuteness is the best!
I just love this story and the main couple.

I want to read it again in future, after some time. It’s surely of one of my favorite novels!

A good novel, however I found the last 30 or so chapters were a little boring. I lost interest because I found the plot very predictable, like with how Richard always got away. Another one was not much happening in the chapters, like the extra chapters were nice but they didn't add anything. Would have liked one of them going farther in years to see what happened, or showing where everyone was later in time.

This novel is such a roller coaster an OK story. Definitely had its up and downs with the arcs and characterization but overall I did enjoy it.

The dialogue of the characters felt very simple, choppy and awkward, like the author had to include every detail of their thoughts out loud. I had to face-palm myself out of cringe. But if you push through, the story does build up the history, foreshadowing and the climax decently. I think the author had good ideas ... more>>

but I think with the way they wrote out their characters made it fall very flat. The stakes were high and the pay off was what you expect to a typical happily ever after.

Characters:

I found that the FL way too overpowered and eventually the ML as well. But I did like their cute relationship, commitment and romance with one another. The side characters aka daddy Tenstheon (MY BODY IS READY FOR YOU AND YOUR ABS) were fun to have around.

Now on to the antagonists:

The antagonists felt like cartoon villains that seemed to lack a brain (especially the goddess, like fr how thirsty were you over a man?!)

It started strong for me, it was cute and fluff and I was really looking forward to seeing them all grown up but I hesitated after that little mermaid arc if you know what I mean *wink wink* I stopped reading it because I got so frustrated, they were finally adults and they can't even be happy?? It was too much of a rollercoaster ride for me.

but, if I don't find any new to read I might come back for it, who knows.
