On the Star Network there is a gourmet food broadcast, where all you can see are a pair of hands. However each dish that this broadcast comes out with is earthshakingly delicious. What’s more, the broadcast anchor’s voice is simply perfect!

With the broadcast’s rising popularity, several food programs extended him an olive branch. When the anchor appeared on screen, as they suspected, he is handsome enough to incur the wrath of both men and gods! The fans l**ked their screens with increasing frenzy, but after licking a while, they discovered…

Fans:…Wait a minute, isn’t this our fatally-ill idol who hasn’t long to live?

Small Gong: Take these damned nutrient solutions and throw them away! And get me that broadcast anchor!

My first cooking novel, it was great being constantly hungry and getting new cravings every other chapter. It got repetitive near the end because more than half the novel felt like food descriptions though...

This novel is one of my favorites, MC is a chef who transmits how he cooks, ML does not like to eat because everything tastes bland but one day he eats MC's food and begins to follow him as his fan, the story progresses slowly but that only makes the interactions more precious, the only thing that is not so satisfactory is the speed of the end, but in itself it is very good, there is also a little bun in the story, it is so cute>~<

Honestly it was a good read! Why are the ratings so low.

Its basically about a transmigrated genius chef into the interstellar world and meets the cold and 'imposing' marshal. The story firsts focuses on the cooking (and its damn salivating), and later zooms out more about the world.

The story has some great humor, and I just couldn't stop laughing. The MC's qualities develop more as you read, and so does the ML's! It was like cute shou x cold caring gong.

The only thing about the end though:

it was just really crammed, but there's lots of fluff, so I guess it's all paid back.

It's all about food. For foodies and those who loves to cook or those who just want to pass time this is a good read. I read this after I got my 1st dose of vaccine. Somehow, after I got injected I felt hungry all the time so reading this helps me cope with it a little. At least I'm not eating too much and just enough to satiated my appetite.

Fluffyyyy! Relaxing and comforting romance. No misunderstandings or angst here! There's a bit of drama, I guess, scattered here and there, but there are really only, like...2 or 3 major events and they take up about 10 chapters. The main focus of this novel is the cooking and the relationship.

Spoiler

Their relationship is like... ambiguous (?) for most of the novel, I'd say. Their relationship gets confirmed in chapter 102 〒▽〒 but if you skim the cooking parts like I did, it gets there pretty quick. I finished the same day I started, which is pretty efficient! There's also a little bun that comes in halfway through the story and he's so cute... small...ヾ (≧▽≦*) o!!! He's not the CP's kid, though LOL - he's the MC's little brother.

[collapse]

Ahem. Yes. The cooking portion is indeed a little bit boring...I think it gets tiring quickly and it's very filler-y. For the cooking chapters, aside from the first 10 chapters, I mostly skimmed over the text until I got to the plot points. It doesn't really contribute much to the plot haha. Just get the main points: MC is good at cooking in a society that's mostly forgotten the art, everyone is shocked whoaaaa he can cook yummy, sometimes there are jealous people and haters but it gets resolved quickly so dw about it. If you like cooking descriptions of shiny (and very meaty O_O) Chinese foods, then you can just read the cooking parts; I just found it tiring very quickly. <<less

To be honest, i've seen a lot of reviews say it was boring or tedious or plain, and i've got to say I see it. I can't convince you that this is a stellar story full of plot and character growth, but I still love this, nonetheless.

This story was a nice, comfortable read.

There is no incredibly through world building or lore, and it felt like I was just following a sweet guy cooking, and his daily streams, which was so nice to read, even if the cooking got repetitive after... more>> a little while. The story created a sort of rhythm that some will enjoy, and others won't.

This very same repetition worked wonders in calming me down and just letting me chill while reading about a man cooking Chinese cuisine. It definitely felt more like a slice-of-life than an actual romance, romance being the smaller side dish. I just wasn't that invested in MC and ML's relationship - don't get me wrong, they were very cute, but their relationship lacked a little spark, and I couldn't help prefer the fans and MC's relationship better.

in all 4.5 stars! It might not have been the best, but it did what I wanted it to do- calm me down and relax me. <<less

This is a novel for a BL, Food enthusiast and Fantasy lover.

-cooking 70% of the novel, real slow snail burn

-lot of plotholes in the universe created, but this is bl fiction so its fine (especially with the ingredients, or how people cook them)

... more>> -there is plot but yes, there is little to no conflict to the MC but it suits the novel? its a LIGHT NOVEL TO EASE YOU

-the title literally says daily live cooking, I don't think it can get any clearer than that what the novel is about

-this novel shouldn't be read weekly, it has to be all in one go cause, the multiple cooking will get tiring if it doesnt help the plot

-discovered new food, it was amazing especially the hard work of the translator to show images. greatly appreciated it

-
Spoiler

the birthday banquet was a little weird for me, commoners watching rich people eat? to only taste but not experience? is on another level Wall-E sh*t

[collapse]

-the level of trust of people in government or people with authority can be a bit.... weird

-was the novel made for foreigners? like the description of chinese food was amazing but I understand why some people got tired of it if they are familiar with it

THANK YOU KIND TRANSLATORS ! <<less

I really dont understand why there are so many people who dont like this novel. This is a simple novel about cooking and the rest is probably only about the (little) evil plot of the members of the Chef's Association and the past of the protagonist.

Cooking will be occupying most of the novel with lots of despription on how it is made and how yummy it looks. The comments in his broadcast are also very nice to read (their compliments are repetitive though). What I like about the protagonist... more>> is that even if he sees ferocious monsters, the first thought he would have is " Can that be cooked?" lmao

And the ML? Sorry, I dont really have a deep impression of him anymore because I finished this novel long ago. He is just there and helps the protagonist.

I think this novel is good for relaxing and maybe bring you motivation to cook. Its even better if you dont ask question about their logic, just find a good sitting position and begin to read.

In my opinion it does have resemblance to Shokugeki no Soma (cooking anime). Just that it is in text form without food org*sm. <<less

Classic food p*rn book.

Not much romance but whenever the MC and ML are together its lot of dog food.

Reading all the recipes get boring sometime so it wasn't a constant read for me.

But well I enjoyed it.

Translator 5/5 they went above and beyond.

A relaxing read.

Story isn't super exciting. It sort of reminds me of binging a foodnetwork show. It makes you really hungry.

... more>> It's a straightforward gain more power (cooking fame in this case) novel. The main pairing was sweet. I wish the side characters were explored a little more. The story does get a little repetitive with the amount of dishes that get discribed in detail. Never the less I did like the story.

Also if you need cooking ideas definitely read this book. The translator is lovely and even put links to recipes. <<less

I went into this novel dubious since I don't really like modern danmei with the extra fact I had no idea that this novel was going to be interstellar/sci-fi as well. I agree with previous reviews that this is a baby's first type of danmei where its a lot easier to read if you are new to danmei itself. The Main CP is kinda boring ngl, I liked the MC when he was just making food to the audience and the audience was sorta small so when I saw recurring... more>> characters I got really excited. But then
Spoiler

he got really big and involved with the government like it didn't seem that realistic but I didn't mind at first but then suddenly I too felt like a blackened fan, because it was just really overwhelming.

[collapse]
The ending is super rushed, and I didn't enjoy the last camping arc at all, perhaps because the main CP just wasn't it. The Wedding Extras were kinda terrible, and the author seemed to only have what was necessary before ending the novel entirely. The translator did an amazing job and I enjoyed their recipe footnotes.

TDLR: I enjoyed the novel in its earlier stages but it got too much around the end. 6.5/10 read. <<less

this Sappy, juicy novel is like a delicacy, a perfect one to add to the list of favourite, Sappy BL novel of all times, not to mention how much I hold myself from checking out all those Recipes after reading each chapter! My goodness!! If I didn't, who knows how much I suffer from drooling over those foods, knowing I couldn't even get my hands on it. Daym!

Anyways, thank you to the merciless author, I really enjoy reading this novel, tho I wish there's from it, still I could say... more>> that I'm very satisfied with it. More power to you, Author-san. Mwah! <<less

A cute novel that involved lots of cooking! There really weren't much drama involved, and the romance didn't really happen until the book was almost over.

Spoiler

For the dramas that did happened in the novel, the villains appeared and disappeared relatively quick. The only drama that can be considered "drama" is about the MC's mom being a gold-digging mother who didn't care for her children at all. I didn't the arc about that one jealous actor, Ye Shao, was all that justified. He was barely mentioned since the MC's coma was related to that villain, but then he disappeared just as quick lol. As mentioned by other reviews, there were barely any romance and HELLA cooking. I wanted to try some of cooking methods mentioned just for the funs of it. Towards the end, it seems like the author just wanted to get it over with, so they just end the novel with "They live happily ever and after." LMAOOOO. Over all, it was a cute novel for a short read. If you wanted a more plot heavy, transmigration, and futuristic setting, I suggest reading Don't Pick Up Boyfriends from the tr*sh Bin.

Even though I've enjoyed reading this novel which had a fantastic translation I can't help but think that it reminds me of food wars in almost every way.

Spoiler

TONS of food p*rn, a lot of characters that had very powerful senses (though it would be interesting if even one of them was a chef to add a bit competition for the MC), recipes at the end of almost every chapter, a bit of mystery, the audience/fans were the most vocal characters and an EXTREMELY small amount of romance. The only difference was that opponents didn't even had tiny bit of resistance before they lost.┐ (‘~`;) ┌

[collapse]

Spoiler

It feels like either they forgot about romance or just only put it there at practically the end in order to have it in the bl genre. Even if that was the purpose it didn't hide the fact that end was rushed, there wasn't much that was actually explored and the MC didn't even get to show off his actual skills. They should've just had the MC be a regular guy that knows about homemade food. (눈‸눈)

[collapse]

Spoiler

I was happy that the couple weren't aware of them acting like one until they looked up one one was like.... " Ah, so we weren't actually doing what normal friends do" though after that realization didn't even had dog food to even fill a pinky toe. (⚈̥̥̥̥̥́⌢⚈̥̥̥̥̥̀)

Likeable MC and ML as well as food p*rn. These are the strongest attributes of this novel, I would say. There are a lot of other likeable characters, too with a few villains sprinkled in between who quickly find their end, though. So there isn't much drama. As the main focus is on food you can imagine that it is an easy read.

The only real criticism I can come up with on the spot would be about the ending. It felt rushed which left me a bit unsatisfied. But I... more>> don't see it as that big of a problem.

If you are a foodie who likes trying out new things, you might wanna try reading this as you will find out about many different Chinese dishes. Fortunately, the translator was so kind as to give links to recipes for the dishes so that those who want to take matters into their own hand could try their hand at cooking up whatever creation was mentioned in each chapter.

I would not recommend to read this on an empty stomach since reading this novel will leave you craving for food and itching to try cooking even if you are a safety hazard in the kitchen. <<less

* atm I posted this review, it's been a month since I last read all the chapters of this novel *

It was a novel devoted a large part of it to food. Since I am not from China and I want to know a lot of general knowledge about other countries, I think I am fine reading the many chapters dedicated to food.

I agree with some reviewers that the romance part is too little and the MC is too almighty that he receives compliments as easily as you praise God... more>> or something supernatural.

The development of the story is too slow because the author focuses on details like what the food tastes like, how the ingredients or the food looks like, or the type of ingredients used in a food.

As for the translation, it is perfect and the following notes or pictures for almost all the foods in the novel make this novel more understandable to readers of other countries.

Overall, for a novel with a slow tempo and kind of like a slice of life genre, it is quite good and fulfilling reading. <<less

Warning: This book will make you VERY hungry.

The amount of cooking terms and recipes in this novel is outstanding. This novel is like a cookbook with a plot, both engaging and informative. The romance is extremely fluffy and heartwarming, as well as the supportive characters and the MC's talents. I usually do not like interstellar, however, the interstellar elements in this novel really highlighted the cooking elements of the novel. On the other hand, I felt like the MC was too overpowered, and did not face any real complications within... more>> the novel. There was also a lack of focus on the romance, however, that is just up to one's tastes. The translations were very fluid and smooth, the translator is clearly very talented. First of all, I don't regret reading this. It took me about 2 days to finish since it was quite long but all in all, it was full of fluffiness and happiness. On the first arc of the book had a good sense of development where the main character becomes popular. In there, it was shown how lovely the recipes were and how he adored his fans. One of the traits I love was he doted on his fans and could not help but spoil them. On that note, I... more>> also love how the start of their love story begins.

The second was the recipes, the recipes were linked down below that I honestly made some for myself, this book honestly could be a cookbook, and because it is set on time where many ingredients were lost, many exotic creatures were hilariously commented on by his 'audience', it was truly adorable.

Third, was his family, of course, there were problems that the MC had to experience but it was very sweet and overpowering so he was kind of a Mary Sue but in a more satisfying way. Get what I mean *sweatdrops* ehehehe, lastly is the ending. I was sad and happy at the same time since the ending was obviously rushed and cut, could have been better if there were extras on how the little brother may have managed how he grew up, little snippets of his life.

In conclusion, this book is a worthy read and would recommend it to those who love fluff and cooking, srsly, mostly for the people who love to cook since there are many great recipes that you could follow, and at the same time within the chapter, as you read are tips and tricks on how to perfect it. <<less
