alright, I dont judge novels on the first few chapters thats why I kept reading. Since it had a lot of positive reviews I thought it might get good later on but see now. I am up to date but I still think that this novel is pretty bad. Let me explain in spoiler why.

Spoiler

every development made no sense so far. Character development also made no sense. The MC was left behind. What would a normal person feel and think now? Ofc he would feel betrayed and resentment. At the beginning he actually felt betrayed but then suddenly when he got to know his class better and knows his former party will be f*cked without him, he bagan to worry. WHY WOULD YOU FEEL WORRIED/SORRY FOR THEM. Its not like the MC was a saint or monk. That wasnt how he was portrayed at the beginning. He was pretty hotblooded and felt agitated enough to fight against the annoying childhood friend. So why would he feel that way now? Thats why I hate most of jp novels because you cant relate and comprehend their actions unless you are a monk or a saint. The development made no sense. Why is he acting like a sage now to the point where he even wanted to return to his former party because he was worried. Thank god the only likeable character so far the goddess stops him. Now to the former party. There were 2 girls and the hero in his former party. The 2 seem like to like the MC so why did it develop to where it is right now? Why did they abandon him? There are 2 perspectives to which you can see it. 1st one would be that they left him because they didnt want him to get hurt. BUT WHY DIDNT THEY SPEAK FACE TO FACE WITH HIM THEN? I really really dont understand why they cant do such a simple thing. "We will get stronger so you can join afterwards. Pls understand" thats it. They wouldnt need to say anything more. Ofc the MC might feel weird about it but it would be better than feeling betrayed. Instead of doing this they just left without saying anything xD now the 2nd perspective is that they left him because he was simply too weak. Baggage to carry. In that case f*ck her. So what happened afterwards? So there was a pov chapter about the annoying childhood friend where it was explained that she left him in order to get stronger so she can protect him even if he's lv 1. What is wrong about that? Well simply you could have said that to him face to face you dumb idiot. Also when she left him she said she would understand and thinks its ok if the MC hates her now. Thats completely hypcritical because first she says she would understand if the MC hates her now but she also said she wants to get stronget to protect him. In other words she expects the MC to come back later. But who in their right mind would party up with someone they hate and even left behind. I dont understand that part either. Also the hero has a disgusting personality and the girls know it. Its ok to leave the MC behind because hes too weak but why wouldnt they seperate from the hero? I literally dont understand why. For the love of god everything doesnt make any sense. So from what I have read, what kind of story would you expect? I would expect a story where the MC resents his former party and in the middle of getting stronger completely forgets about them later on. And later on the former party regrets their decision and despair or whatever but it seems like that wont happen because the MC still thinks tightly about his former party and suddenly became a saint without any resentment. Also the MC got provoked at the beginning. He knows he is weak, why would he challenge the strongest party member when he knows he is weak if thats not hootblooded idk but yea forget about the 1st chapter and lets turn him to a saint without any negative feelings. What has he done all those years? Why didnt he study his class? Why doesnt he learn when to advance or when to retreat when he is so god damn weak at the beginning. Jp novels are triggering me so hard its insane. I really have no prejudice against jp novels, its just that 90% turn out bad at the end. I have read a lot and there a few likeable ones, where you can actually relate to the MC and comprehend why he is acting the way he is and such and not nothing like this where the MC turns to a pacifist suddenly after being left behind. A story like this needs a bigger amount of revengelike satisfaction in order to balance out the betrayal and ret*rded characters at the beginning but its not balanced at all. I dont mind easy squeezy everythings good mc's but dont twist his character all of sudden when he isnt portrayed that way. If someone wants to tell me that this has good character development I would think, that person is a clown.

[collapse]

will I keep reading this? Maybe because if the author is good there might be a satisfying moment that could save this novel. Not recommendable imo tho at least for now. <<less

Very bland and boring story, the alternative POV with his old party members is actually more entertaining. Any chapter featuring the protagonist is usually some tedious repeat info dump. With the same basic information redelivered in a slightly different way.

Also these boring info dumps don't take place in a tavern or an inn. They all take place in the dungeon, while the protagonist is exploring the dungeon. So yeah 90% of what could be the most exciting part of the story just the protagonist and his companion talking about his... more>> powers, 10% being "a monster appeared, protagonist attacked it, it's dead now." <<less

The starting is rather typical for this type of plot and the foundation for the story is not laid down very well. But the plot advances quickly and I'm enjoying the character growth so far.

The story seems to be a little more logical than the standard "abandoned by the party" stories, and has a somewhat fresh approach to the concept. The characters are slightly more believable than I expected.

That being said, there are still a few points I found somewhat weird and inconceivable and some deeper explanation on the mechanics... more>> of their world would be nice at this point.

Overall though, I will happily continue reading past this point. <<less

I skimmed through alot of chapters because it was boring, instead of getting his sh*t together and move forward, the MC keeps looking back on his former party, yeesh, not so f*cking smart for a novel route aye author san?.

Alot of jp novels fall when it comes to making stories where the MC is not a huge f*cking bumbling idiot, this is f*cking boring, they never explore properly on MC so he feels like a ret*rd all throughout the chapters, he is literally just a f*cking yesman, since he is... more>> above 15 yrs old, he should be mature enough to know that he needs to get his sh*t up and fix his OWN life, this is just utter bullshit, all I wanna do is insult this novel all day long

Boring

Bland

Tasteless

Dissatisfying

And worst of all.. A bad MC for a shounen, this is the shittiest type of an MC and you all know that,

He gets thrown around

He underestimates himself

He just fails being a man

"Overestimating oneself is not a good practice but underestimating is no better"

Alot of these japanese novels try to create a good climax where everyone is like "MC ur actually rlly op!!"

Then the MC is just like "wow yeah.. Maybe.."

Despicably generic, I would have literally written atleast a more proactive MC, they live in a world with, monsters and shit, having an undecisive person as a protagonist just makes me lose my shit

Their orphans, they should know what hardship is, but instead they're all selfish b*tches who can't give time to think 10 seconds into the future.

Waste of time.

What starts off as your generic "kicked out of party for being useless but they're not actually useless and want revenge" story takes a hard turn from the cliche mass produced garbage and becomes an actually well written story where the protagonist is an actual good guy befitting his class (not some total d*ck that the author insists is a nice guy for some reason) doing what he can to help people (even wanting to run back to his former friends when he thinks they might be in danger not... more>> even holding a grudge) and it also doesn't dissolve into a directionless harem fic where the only thing that happens is people praising the protagonist. Also it's nice that they managed to make people realistic and fleshed out with their own motivations (some people are kinda dicks like the hero just like real life and some are nice while most are rather neutral) but it doesn't go overboard like a lot of stories where other people are almost comically evil and going around killing/stealing/raping/etc just because their evil. Overall a proper story in a genre I enjoy that doesn't triple down on every possible cliche. <<less

It's a decent story with a fairly common trope of a party kicking out an important member then finding out they are strong. The only downside is he's a complete beta with no drive. Which is really annoying for many people me included because who wants to read about a person with no drive.

This is nice. Pretty par for the course opening but takes a diffrent route then most "kicked out of the party" settings. MC isn't a vengeful douche-nozzel and instead has a mentality more akin to the MC from slow life frontier. It's also quickly has the MC grow.

It starts a bit slower but the pace allows us to see why the MC doesn't understand just how needed a healer is at mid and higher levels, the pov change doesn't have a sudden and forced feel and where as magic doesn't... more>> have an immediate explanation it does get explained in better detail later on.

I'm gonna check regularly for updates since this is one i've really taken a liking to. <<less

The story really went downhill once ... more>>
Spoiler

the childhood friend joined the party, like wtf? And why is everyone acting like she was the one most hurt when she was one of the people that decided to kick him off the party? Author really did everything in his power to make the reader feel sorry for her, but what a sh*t show

[collapse]

Interesting beginning, but halfway the MC becomes the usual beta JP MC that they seems to love, even the plot of his powers developing got pushed to the sides to focus on annoying shit <<less

I read this twice and its true

The childhood friends coming back really brings it down imo

I mean they have growth and the relationships develop well but the girls thought processes not pov are really annoying.

The two goddess were done well making the plot not bad

Story was very good up until around chapter 10 where it just became generic. Had so much potential but like the other person said above it's more entertaining to read the hero's party story rather than the protaganist. I would have given it a 4 or even a 5 had it not been for it being generic power up. Had he just been a healer this would have been a great tale of him trying to get stronger and not take a shortcut. Other than that I give it a... more>> 2 or 3 stars. If you just want some OP protaganist that gets everything without working hard and have your brain tune out with anything complex than I guess this is for you. I read a few chapters and the MC is what disappointed me the most he blames the goddess for his problems and why he was left behind, but it was only because he was short sighted and never considered so what I'm a healer he never even did any research on any of his abilities basically he locked himself in a box of ignorance because he only compared himself to people with titles like [hero], [holy knight], [sage] and never looked at the rest of the world and never even... more>> notice the hero's rotten personality. <<less

the girl that was forcibly shoved into him at the beginning of the story turned out to be a goddess

[collapse]
which is okay, but with the forced harem love, it just ruined the story. I can already tell what the rest falling in love with him will be like... Up until then the writing quality was average and had an okay but interesting story line. There was even a chap where I shed a little bit of tears, however lots of things were illogical and forced. With the falling in love being cliche and cringe as heck I dropped it the chap after knowing how the rest will turn out. Though not surprising of a harem novel. This book couldve been a 3 if it had better editing / translation as u had to gloss overstuff as u read while aome thinga didnt make sense or werent in correct order. <<less

with little updates, overall with mtl, the author does a good job writing, doesnt seem he will keep going with the ln and manga focus, does well with semi harem progress, the anti hero behind the sences MC is good, focus on said MC is detailed but can be lackluster if u want more ecchi envolved, not that great towards end of vol 8 with tieing hero group, good with explaining false goddesses and roles in both parties and wierd betrayels/given? Story world planned narratives from said goddesses?, overall a... more>> good mtl partial non isekai with the author writing alot for the wn for fans compaired to most writers, would recommend mtl till end of vol 8 to at least understand most of the story though author seemed rushed/hurried to finish up to that point to focus on ln/manga, still a good overall writing for wn fans <<less

Not a bad story. The MC is actually likeable, if a bit... "slow" emotionally. You could say naive, if you're kind. This story needs a harem label given all female characters are attracted to him, possibly including the granny orphanage caretaker.

It's kinda boring.

The saint aspect isn't developed enough in his character. You don't see him saving a lot of people. He's just a swordsman

The world development is severely lacking with not much going on outside of dungeon diving.

There's no emotional fulfillment of being a savior or even finding the right path before heading into darkness, as the author only barely touched this important development in one chapter... just one.

It's overall simplistic and writing and style that it ruins it chance at being something special.
