The story is just OK. However slow pacing + slow translating speed means you will forget what happens by the time a new chapter is released. I would suggest waiting until there is a large backlog before starting to read.

The translator's site is kind of awful. It's fine if you are just reading chapters as they are released, but if you want to go through the backlog clicking "next chapter" doesn't take you to the next chapter, but instead a blog post with a link to the next chapter. Most... more>> of the chapters are also broken up into two parts, so you have to repeat this with each half. There are also huge blocks of whitespace after each paragraph. It's probably the worst reading experience I've had on a TL's site. It takes away any immersion you might have when reading. This isn't reflected in my rating of the story. <<less

I really like this novel, the story is very interesting, although the MC is OP but the action scenes are well made and not impressed OP at all, if you start reading this novel, then you will be curious about each chapter.

later you will be curious who exactly Ain is.

I will not explain the story of this novel, but I guarantee there are no distorted stories like NTR or others.

I give a 5/5 value

Spoiler

you need to know, this is not isekai

Ain was not son of the aristocracy of Roundheart, he was born from a magic stone given by goddess to his mother.

Ain reincarnation of..... hahaha sorry I won't explain it

Novel started out interesting but the author either lost focus on his theme or just has some wierd ideas about what makes some one heroic. At first it seemed like it was going to be a story about coming up from the bottom through effort and earning recognition. But it now has quickly turned into "Surprise, you've secretly been PRIVILEGED all this time!" The last 15 or so chapters has been nothing but padding the MC's stats by power leveling him with royal money, lol. Where's the hard work in... more>> that? Kid's gonna turn into a more privileged a*hole than his supposed spoiled brat of a brother. Good job author! <<less

Generally, I TRY to make something critical and constructive. But I just, really like this novel.

I obviously advise to read what of it to make your own opinion. But I think it depends on the person.

Note: The translation is back, so we should get more finally

This book is about the slowest book I've read in a while, however it never failed to create scenarios I enjoy thoroughly.

MC is op but still is hardworking, which is a very appealing character for me.

10/10 I want more translated please

The story is pretty enjoyable personally I don't have complaint but the translator is a hundred chapters behind the raw and there's a bit of problem with the site

First, the good part. It has a good "slice of life" feel with just a little action to move the plot along. The MC (Ainz) is a generally good guy. He's OP, but he ends up facing problems he couldn't handle otherwise.

The bad part. It's VERY slow paced, and although the main characters are portrayed as the "good guys" they're just as terrible as anyone else.

Spoiler

The main premise of the story is that his father and family treated him poorly. The problem with the whole "dad is bad" is that Ainz isn't his son, it turns out the mother has been lying and looking for a way to back out of a political-marriage/trade-agreement from day 1.

The most recent chapter was just hard to read. A pain in the rear prince that's looking for two missing nobles (who ran off to join Ainz for next to no reason) is made a fool of. So 1, he's a jerk and it's nice to see bad things happen to bad people. But 2, chapter 52 is all about the "bad prince" struggling to get information on two missing people, and the "good guys" Ainz & Co. tormenting him for fun...

Oh, then Warren (From team Ainz) decides to insinuate the main love interest (one of the missing people) is a who*e to her home nation? That's kinda' a big deal in midevil-ish cultures. But sure, why not slander an innocent girl...

Honestly, it's a nice concept, it's just poorly executed. <<less

Surprisingly solid so far, the prologue seemed so generic I actually passed this by once, the story is still very early on but it doesn't suffer from the same problems most of the newer Japanese light novels do, the plot so far has been logically progressing there's been a bit of comedy and altogether it's entertaining so far.

Pretty good underdog story with a childish tone. Interesting premise, with the MC being looked down on until it is revealed that he is secretly OP. The tone is a little too childish for my tastes and the mother con stuff is a bit offputting but this story has potential to be really interesting.

It might be best to wait for more chapters but I definitely recommend this for its genre. Specifically, the MC is treated unfairly and looked down upon but suddenly he gets a better family and is revealed... more>> that his oppressors were too s*upid to recognize his true power. Yet at the same time, it is not dark and depressing. It might be too soon to tell but I have some hopes.

Edit after reaching ch 20:

Spoiler

Nope. I'm out. An entire chapter's worth of world-building to explain why it is totally ok and even normal for MC to hook up with his own mom? No thanks. There still seems like there is some potential with the powers and I have to acknowledge that my dislike stems from personal taste so I won't lower my initial score, but I feel like you should leave fetish stuff for smut novels and keep it out of my mindless harem LNs. Still totally G rated for anybody concerned. No heavy petting or anything beyond essentially announcing a relationship between the two but I don't even like that much.

It's good. Reincarnator gets pity from a child goddess on how he died (and it involved a c*ckroach). The skills he gets via gatcha is supposed to be Rare but ends up being a Ultra Rare to a point where the goddess doesn't even know what it does. He still retains some (not all) of his past memories, but he is a mother-con as a kid. Although you cannot blame him. His father's family rejects him, the second wife tries to snub him because she feels threatened by a 5... more>> year old kid (I know...), and the servants just pity him. His mother becomes the only thing he wishes to protect, so he focuses on training on multiple skills. His father gives up on him in favor of his younger brother. An event lead to a final straw between the mother and father, and the mother departs for her homeland. Issue is that the homeland is a technologically advanced civilization compared to the rest of the world by hundreds of years, and she is royalty! <<less

Pretty good so far, but it’s starting slowly, and paired with the slow translation rate it can be frustrating to keep up with. I recommend waiting to read this after more is released. (Currently ch 12 is most recent)

No idea how this will turn out, so far from just the 3 chapters available it's just decently average, but I like the mood and where it's going. Seems to move slowly and the chapters are very short.

There's two translations so pick the good one. If you're reading halfway and start having ????? Pop up, you'll know you're reading the wrong one.

It's just not good. That's it. The plot is average, the characters are pretty average too. The bad things are, the way story progresses, the pacing, sometimes the story and the writing is pretty tr*sh.

The plot is pretty much what you can read here in the description, nothing more. The characters are as generic as you can think them too be. And our MC also suffers from good guy syndrome where in the face of absolute malice he will keep playing your good guy character, which just feels inhumane, off... more>> and very lazy writing at best. Feels like the author couldn't bother to give 5 minutes of thought into the character. Think of the most generic good guy character you can think of and that's exactly our MC.

Another things that just ruins it is how little the whole isekai shtick didn't matter. Like, we find out he gets isekaied and yeah that's it, isekai doesn't play any part in the story, not even once, you could cut out the chapters where he gets isekaied and you will probably not understand 3 lines at most in the whole story, which is mind blowing because why would you even introduce something like isekai if the story doesn't use it? I don't know.

The next thing also stems from isekai. Our main character says he provably had a wife but he can't remember cause he lost his memory, which is fine. But, what is not fine is how he carries himself around. He acts as if he was 25, which he might've been, which can be excused by saying he was 25, until you realize he forgot everything, so how does he know how to act like an adult? Common sense would tell you, someone who forgot his memories completely will not know who he was obviously, but our MC breaks common sense and logic. And it's just not our MC, every kid who is 10, acts like they are 20, and 20 year old's act like they are 10. A character, which might become a love interest down the line, is very "dependable" and "admirable", but then how will they become a love interest cause all of us know only weak and airhead and cutesy women can become love interest, so, our author mentions she is clumsy sometimes. How lazy can the author get is beyond me.

Oh btw, the main love interest is 10 years old. Yeah. Gives me creeps when a 10 year old is trying to be romantic with a 6 year old while both of them are acting like 20 year olds.

What I don't understand with these novels is, if you are this lazy, this disconnected form reality, then why write a novel in the first place? Clearly, the author doesn't give a f about the story and character, so then why?

Anyways, this a complete waste of time and isn't enjoyable in the slightest, I can think of like 50 more s*upid things about this novel but whatever. Go read something else <<less

Hello everyone, I felt it was time to give this series a review after reading a lot of incorrect reviews.

Specifically, people like to point out the plot hole about Ain's mother not really having a child with the Roundheart family head.

DO NOT READ SPOILER IF YOU ARE STILL READING THIS STORY!... more>>
Spoiler

So, I had to make this review as so many bash on Ain's mother for using her Dryad powers to create Ain and trick the Roundheart family. This is true to an extent but missing a lot of important details. Yes, she did use her powers to trick the Roundheart family head but he is unaware of this and believes the child to be his and still treated him this way. The issue I have with the reviews is it glosses over the fact the agreement was with the previous head of the family, and as soon as he passed, the current head started acting different and caused her extreme worry, hence her actions. Not like the guy even knows and its not like she cheated on him.

Later on in the story, these reasons are why the Ishtallica Royal Family has no desire to pursue hostilities, while the Roundheart family and the countries royal family act like victims throughout the mediation. While ultimately, they were the ones to violate the treaty and even humiliated a princess from a much more powerful nation. They deserve much worse for how they treated Ain and Olivia.

Even later in the series, it is basically insinuated that the Red Fox tribe that drove the demon lord insane, is also deeply influencing the Roundheart family and the Royal Prince who accuses Ishtallica of kidnapping Claude and her grandfather, to cause the issues shown in the first chapters. If people had read beyond 100 chapters, maybe they would have accurate reviews

[collapse]

This is actually one of my favorite series for the isekai genre. Though, they do gloss over a lot of plot holes that will be addressed much later in the story. The world is detailed and very well developed with plenty of slice of life, action, drama, etc. Please give this series a fair shake if you like the premise and intro chapters. Though there will be a lot of information left out throughout the story, it will be explained later through the story development. <<less

Very slow and drawn out; it feels like the 19 chapters I read could be condensed into 4 or 5. Most of the plotting and intrigue mentioned doesn't hold up to scrutiny, either. Lost interest.
