As a new anchor of StarTV, Yu Yan’s ruthless tr*sh-talk, natural rifle-shooting skills, and character of never searching houses earned him a big crowd of fans.

He felt like he was a good anchor who treated all fans of his stream equally—you can suck at the game, you can get knocked down, but if you want the gun in my hand, sorry, no way man.

Until he heard the voice of the streaming platform’s Big Boss.

Yu · ultimate voice-con · Yan: I’m not familiar with this game, swap my Kar98k for your Mini-14.

Yi · brand new noob · Chen: En.

Friend: Daddy, I want to snipe too!

Yu Yan: I think this frying pan suits you very well.

Not-a-very good gamer but dripping with money and looks Big Boss vs Cute, super good tr*sh-talking gunslinger voice-con Anchor.

Not very deep, but still a sweet and funny romance story. The funny moments were good, but some of the tense moments weren't that great, felt a bit tedious. Overall, the story is nice if you want some sweet romance without much logic behind it. I really like that (minor spoiler)

Coming from I Can Do It , I feel like I downgraded.

Romance-wise, I liked the different paces at which the main couple realizes their feelings. The balance between fluff and angst got weird in the second half since the author tried to create angsty scenes based on jealousy over and over again, but the premise for these scenes got simpler and simpler, until these scenes just read as absurd.

Characterisation-wise, it's as good as in I Can Do It. The pacing at which we receive information about the characters' personalities is... more>> very good, their backgrounds are also fleshed out decently. But only the main couple and a couple of secondary characters, mind you. I didn't like how some secondary characters who play significant roles in the first half are dropped so quickly in the second half of the novel for no apparent reason.

Plot-wise, it's very thin but decently paced. Stronger in the first than in the second half, which contributed to me coming out of this novel dissatisfied.

Gaming-wise very good read. I think both PUBG players and complete strangers to the game will understand and enjoy the gaming parts, and in no small thanks to the translators and editors, who did an amazing job in explaining gaming terms well. You know translators are top class if they call in editors specifically for the gaming parts. I really appreciated that. <<less

Another great danmei about the exciting chinese game culture. This is my second novel by this author and I really like her style very much. There's fluff, comedy, lots of gaming action and interesting protags and side characters.

Many readers are describing this as an e-sports novel but it isn't. None of the protags are in e-sports and there are no competitions happening in the book. It is more about livestreaming PUBG and the author provides a great indepth look into the world of chinese game livestreamers. For real e-sports content,... more>> check out "I can do it" by same author. <<less

Great romance, not much drama, and just really soothing to read.

The drama is enough to make you feel excited or in my case, squeal into my bedsheets at 2 am, but it's not too much where the novel is heavy.

Romance is smooth, some misunderstandings, but they're funny instead of annoying.

I think it's more focused on the romance instead of the gaming, but it's not to the point where the gaming part gets left out or is boring.

Definitely recommend this. Sorry for the bad English and have a nice day.

Oh I found this story rather unique even for the usual gaming novel. Instead of noob MC with secret OP ML, it's expert MC with noob ML. I liked the premise. Even though game talk made me tilt my head a bit. Really grateful for the quality translation. Then I read to the latest translated chapter, it was sooo good that I rushed to the raws to complete it with some help from MTL for the gaming part. Ya, it's that good.

Only minus 0.5 stars because of some minor... more>> irritating misunderstandings that got me mildly frustrating. Nothing too bad. Just small misunderstandings, typical but annoying.

But overall the romance is really sweet. The face slapping is nice and satisfying. The emotional aspect is actually a bit deeper than I expected too.
Spoiler

MC has a sad past without parents and got cheated by a company over money issues. ML has a more complex emotional stuff going on because while he is more 'cold', he's really in a more lonely position too away from others. But he does have people good to him such as his cousin even though that cousin (poor naïve child) always unknowingly pits against him hahaha. I think one of the sweet family moment was when ML realised that his cousin had sent him birthday presents the past few years but he didn't realise it cos the cousin sent it to his company without leaving his name (and naïve cousin didn't realise too).

[collapse]

Sweet ending too so overall a really nice gaming story that wasn't too heavy on the gaming aspect so a plus for me (since I'm not too good with that).

And extra plus, I just love the extras at the end for MC's friend. That could easily be a whole short story in my opinion. MC's friend is hilarious. +++++ For him haha! <<less

Previously I felt this story was similar to the story "I Can Do It" until I realized it was written by the same person.

So as I said before, this story actually uses the same formula as "I Can Do It" except that this story was more organized and doesn't leave too many holes.

But this still does not deny the fact that the rating of this story is too high, which does not match the quality of the story itself.

For the character of the story itself, ML has the saddest life... more>> among the others character's... his parents are typically irresponsible parents who only care about themselves, and his side family is a blood sucking type... even the closest ML relatives and friends have a bit of an annoying impression sometimes.

So the point of my review is, the author once again causes fault in the same place... the fault is that the author is not good at developing a plot to the fullest, and at the same time he also never gives a clean solution to every conflict he makes... everything is always left hanging without explanation. <<less

Pretty boring. Characters are one-dimensional esp. Side characters. They only show up conveniently when needed & god forbid do they ever step out of their roles like how ml's cousin gets treated. Hate how MC's parents are literally treated as an incomplete backstory only like wtf? The loopholes too & there's literally no tension. Crises are immediately smoothed out that they become forgettable & for a streamer MC sure doesn't have connection to his viewers except for 1 & his cousin no? Any other viewer is just for barrage &... more>> occassional mention of free ride lol. The title's claim as online romance of the century is pretty big when I couldn't feel their chemistry. Guide on how to fail at online dating is way better & honestly, I'm way more interested in MC's bestfriend's love story than theirs. <<less

It's a nice, fluffy novel. I just feel that there was a lot more potential there. Therefore, I will take off one star.

These are my main critiques/concerns (warning, mild spoilers!) :

First of all... I don't think the person backstories of any of the characters were that clear. The MC, what happened to his parents? Did I miss that part? Why couldn't they be saved? It's just confusing to me, because although MC did experience something traumatic, I don't think it was enough to explain is deep aversion towards profession playing.... more>> Oh well, many cope differently so I can't say much. I just wish the author explained the situation more clearly so I can better empathize with the MC.

As for the ML, he's relationship with his parents was also very vague. From what I understand, he's parents want to be closer to him but he is too invested in work to care. Then, when he hears from his uncle that his parents wanted to adopt another child, he seemed worried and distressed, even though there was no explanation of why he would be sad about his parents raising another child. I wish that the ML's true feelings were highlighted more in the novel... it's hard to understand his true thoughts. It's all very implicit, so the only thing I know is the feelings but not the reasons behind those feelings. I get that the author wanted to focus on the gaming and romance aspect, but I wish the backstories were more focused on so that the MC and ML could be more fleshed-out.

Another thing, the side couple. The way the author did not mention any interactions between the side couple during the main story was just not a smart move. Personally, I felt nothing for the side couple and the novel did not generate enough interest in them for me to go read to side story.

Last thing I'll mention... I didn't like how this novel ended. It's not that the ending was bad, it was just super unfulfilling. No closure for a lot of situations, like for example (spoilers!) : the MC's old teammate Liuliu, his relationship with Tuantuan, what happened with the lawsuit against Zhou Li Entertainment, etc. I don't know if any of this happened in the extras, I'm just speaking on what I know based off of the main story.

Conclusively, it's a great novel to read when you want a cute romance to pass time. I much prefer the authors other work, GHFOD, over this one, but recommend reading both. Good novel if it the type of trope you're into; as for myself, gaming novels are enjoyable, but not a top favorite trope for me. <<less

It's a good light romance novel.

Slow burn but not to the point of irritating.

MC : voice con; No, he is not a tr*sh talker at all; good at gaming and smooth lier when games; a good baby.

... more>> ML : so dense (I rarely find the MLs dense, usually it's the MCs).

You get to meet a good cousin of the ML 'Yi Ran' : nice character; he is such a good wingman even without knowing about it.

Comedy : nothing that hilarious; a few good LOL moments/ thoughts.

Romance is good. It's mainly online. No angst or drama.

They meet after 1st half of the novel (well they have met already but the MC was drunk and thought he was dreaming; and the ML found out that the MC likes him at that time)

They get together around chapter

They have their first time in chapter

Smex scenes : Not explicit or detailed; just implied

The novel is in light romance category. It doesn't leave any deep impact. I even forgot about the feeling of main novel right after reading side stories. So couldn't continue to read the 2 extras.

Side stories are about a side CP. Catfishing and all.

About E-sports genre : even though I don't prefer this genre because I can't understand the LOL type games so I just skim through these kinda novels (most novels are about this game) ; but pubg is a shooting game and easy to understand.

So even if you are hesitating to read it because of the genre (like me) then you can give it a go.

Recommend. <<less

I am an absolute sucker for streamer novels and this is one of the better ones i've read so far!

What's good: MC is really cute & good at what he does. He isn't super weak or draggy, but tries to be strong and independent, but not to the extent of being too brash or headstrong like some other esport MC stereotypes. ML is cute too with his approach to their relationship. I really like how the extras turned out with their relationships as well.

What I don't like:

  • It's hella draggy!! Even at points where it is supposed to be the "climax", it kinda falls flat in delivery & has not much impact on anything
  • the side couple is kinda cute but also kinda not cute because
    Spoiler

it's not entirely consensual like, it starts off as a catfish then MC (?) gets rolled into liking him and ??? Im so confused, like that's not it sis

  • the novel is quite trope-y so I guess if you like to read an e-sports/streamer novel without crying too much or using your brain, this works out pretty well
it's a really good novel during my first read but going back a second time, you start to nitpick so honestly, it's good on first read but it isn't something that I would re-read or anything. It sounds like im bashing the novel but tbh, its still good ahah do give it a read if you are into streamer/e-sports type

Trust me when I say that I don't like e-sports. But I know that this author is steady in the department of: easy/almost non-angsty, sweet, has enough humor to enjoy type of story. If you're up for such a game of leisure reading, then you should try this author's works :)

One of the best I have read so far. I'm actually loving danmei about gaming and Entertainment nowadays, this one is one of my favorites along with "I Can Do It" from the same author. It wasn't that focused on the game, more on romance but the romance happens on the game so you can say it is balanced (?). Moreover, the story was pretty realistic... even the comments are those you will actually encounter irl if you have the same occupation. Despite the slow build of their relationship, there's... more>> flirting and you'll literally eat dog food. They just didn't fall in love like in other books, there's a foundation in their relationship. All in all, the story was really good even tho it's short and you wouldn't get bored in any chapter. <<less

The story was really good. No angsty but only fluff. It was very smooth for me. The story is more focused on Romance than gaming theme, so people who came for gaming might end up being disappointed but not me.

I love their Romance. Sweet, fluffy and kinda mature. I really like how ML was being very considerate but like seriously on the other hand it really could have cause a huge misunderstanding since ML not a talker type. Thankfully it didn't happened.

I really like the MC at the start... more>> (i still like him) since he was kinda badass (not too much but still, like how he handle people in game and all), but later his badass chara kinda disappear.
Spoiler

I was kinda disappointed with the whole matter with the his previous enterprise making problem for him. I was lowkey wishing to see how he deal with it but well before he could seme already did it.

[collapse]

I also loved the side couple. Well, their story wasn't my type but I like it that they got happy ending too. It's really rare nowadays to get Side couple story too.
Spoiler

When Zou sad he was willing to wait for Lui to like men as long as Lui give him even a bit of hope...... damn, I was so much moved by it.

[collapse]

Lowkey kinda wished for Yi Ran story too. I hope he too find someone for him.

Overall, I really enjoyed the whole novel. Although I came for gaming (i also play PUBG), I end up staying for their fluff. Plus it was really nice seeing MC and ML play something that I had played and could understand and imagine the scenery easily. I am just like 1 without MC as his gaming partner.... pretty noob😂😂.

Lastly, thanks to the translator for translating the novel and also for the reference pic on weapon. <<less

No words. I just absolutely adore this novel.

The plot is not mind blowing, but it's a very thought out with zero inconsistencies for a novel, which allows the readers to engage both in the plot and the intended fluff without delay. I like the fact that the author made the gameplay very easy to understand (not unrealistic at all in terms of wins and losses) but also descriptive which allowed me to envision it with ease: it was also 30% of the plot, extremely satisfying I must say because I... more>> can't do a novel solely fluff. Which brings me to the next compliment: although the plot makes you feel fluffy, it ain't all fluff. Each character has realistic problems they face and it's not too exaggerated nor too underplayed.

The characters are dimensional, and there's character development for both the MC and ML throughout the story—which is refreshing compared to the basic character tropes. The romance is slow, but honestly so there it makes you want to squeal like a pig; plus, there's no s*upid misunderstandings but rather we see two people maturing as they realize what love is. And finally, the translation is superb, making this novel a top tier fluff—but not idiotic fluff (rather one with plot and dimensions) —novel.

Honestly though, the comments and the barrage on each livestream is what made my love for this story go the max; not too much but definitely enough to make you giggle like a fool and feel exactly like the said barrage. It was like finding a common comrade in the story, and it did a good part in making the novel superb. <<less

This was a very stable novel. There weren't many emotional twists and turns that would abuse your heart.

The MC and ML are mature in their decisions and they have reasons to be more mature than they have to be.

Some traits have been exaggerated but it is still within the reasonable range.

... more>> It is a very enjoyable read and would highly recommend if you're trying to recover from an emotionally heavy novel.

There isn't a heavy plot. Some minor antagonists here and there to spice things up but they're still miles away from being true villains.

No obvious plot holes either.

The translation is excellent. The author notes and translator notes are hilarious.

All in all it's a very good novel and would recommend everyone too give it a try. (◍•ᴗ•◍) ❤ <<less

I read this novel straight through in two days, it was too good to put down!

This is a pretty fluffy and funny novel, with no real angst or complex plot. Just an MC building his livestream career and the ML who supports him as they fall for each other. Though there are difficulties they face and some minor misunderstandings you never doubt they'll be happy in the end. The fans of the livestream are hilarious and I enjoyed every segment with them! The technical aspects of being a streamer was... more>> surprisingly in depth at some points too, it was very interesting. A fun, cute, relaxing read.

The MC and ML are both super likeable, and I really loved some of the side characters we meet as well (ML's younger cousin is a fav, bless that human disaster). They're both mature intelligent and kind, there's no 'forceful' ML and 'wilting flower' MC going on here. They clearly respect each other and have a healthy relationship even before they get together.

There'a a refreshing lack of 'gay panic' and denial, with the MC specifically quickly accepting his feelings. The ML takes longer because he's dense (VERY dense) in matters of love, but he never has a problem with his sweetheart being a man. It's really refreshing as a gay guy to find a novel that avoids the annoying "I'm straight though!!!!" subplot.

Highly recommended to anyone looking for a sweet fluffy read!

Shoutout to the translator and editors for a fantastic job! They go above and beyond to the point of meticulously explaining the game MC plays with diagrams and research. <<less

This is a masterpiece!

Well woven plotline and super fluffy. Part of the story is all about PUBG but you will not be bored at all because the romance is in line with it while they're playing a game.

I find the MC likeable and adorable. He may be a junior high school graduate, but he is intelligent. It's just that due to circumstances, he did not continue studying. I really felt bad for him when I learned about the reason. Of course, I will not spoil here. Hehe.

The ML is super... more>> cool. But due to family circumstances as well, he's aloof to everyone. But he is mature, so warm, intelligent and a male god.

I love the development of their relationship and what started as an online friends become real friends and then to lovers. Sometimes, you would wish that you can find a guy of either one of them.

I love the other characters and the story of the second CP is very nice too.

Highlyrecommended! <<less

Starts really good, MC very likable - wity, selfish, with good self esteem, easily talk back when others points finger on his low education; very patient, but when moderator crossed his bottom line he did not holding back. When ML and MC did not get in relationship yet, at dinner party/award ceremony for anchors of StarTV ML goes out with woman for private talk (for like 10-20 min) and MC asks anchor at the same table (who he knows for 1-2 hours) where is ML, this anchor makes asumption that ML goes out with girlfriend and MC getting upset and drunk. Of course, this woman cannot be a colleague/relative/buisness partner/employee or something else, MC acts so ooc, why not just wait for ML answer, why he is so insecure, it just does not make sense with how MC was portrayed at the start of novel
