From a caste based high school, bottom-tier Naomi Masatsugu is caught up in a summon of his class to a different world. However, as soon as they arrived the king said, “This guy is unnecessary because he only has clumsy skills ” and it is concluded that he is to be forced to administer the orphanage, which no one wants to do. Unfortunately for the orphanage his skills were cheat skills that cause the girls to cling to him.

In order to “defend” the girls that depend on him, he must operate the orphanage while overcoming the powerful people, authorities, and former classmates that surround him.

Also came from the manga, but I don't expect the webnovel to be better than the manga.

This is just another one of the staple fantasy "I got kicked out of X group but I was actually OP".

For the beginning, it's actually not too bad. It's the standard he got kicked out because he had Y skill that was known to be well, mediocre. And then that mediocre skill is actually a cheat.

The problem is that Y skill is named to be a mediocre skill, yet he can do X, Z,... more>> and A, clearly unrelated skills to the Y skill, but the Y skill grants all of these other unrelated skills. Moreover, due to the mediocre name of the skill, it is actually somehow better than the title "hero". It's not a bad idea for author to say he gets the skill that conceptualizes protection rather than the skill protection.

At the same time, there is something that pisses me off with these themes. This and many other authors don't make a good reason why Y skill, which has a mediocre name in terms of prestige, is still somehow stronger than a "hero". It's like saying my "shoveling" skill is stronger than a "Omnipotent" skill. Maybe it has something to do with translation or culture but I doubt it.

Spoiler

For the manga version:

Another problem with the manga is the logical fallacies it has. While I won't question why the exhibitionist loli elf who exposes her underwear but covering everything else, as this is clearly aimed towards a more hot-blooded audience, there are other problems.

One of the problem shows itself during the explanation of the process of using baking soda to make soap. Now, I don't know whether or not you could do it, and from a glance, chemistry-wise it certainly seems possible. Lye or caustic soda is generally used instead for soap making, but baking soda does have some hygenic usages and according to the Wikipedia, saponification can happen.

The problem isn't that, instead it is when he explained to orphan girl what baking soda is used for, and none of what she thought was for baking. Maybe the author should have used another name then.

For the webnovel

Spoiler

This for the first few chapters. The characterizations is written like a 12 year old wrote it. There is no intricacies to the plot. It is rather straight forward. Personalities are rather flat. And what the heck is with the demon king's forces? and the Shitty balk kingdom spy forces? Are they really spies from the Balk kingdom? Here's some dialogue:

"Impossible! We are the strongest spy units of the Balk Kingdom and possible in the continent! You did that this fast!?"

"Impossible, we are the Balk Kingdoms secret forces. If I fall here the Balk Kingdom's abillity to control information will plummet. I am retreating! I'll remember this!"

"Shit, I am Balks Kingdom... "

The elf confirms they are from Balk, so they must be the worst spy forces ever to bring up their affiliation like that in every sentence.

I started reading this because I read the manga and it was pretty good. This web novel is so rushed it doesn't so much feel like a story as it does an outline of a story. There are a lot of explanations missing about why the MC is so powerful or even how his ability works.
Spoiler

It's like in the first chapter he's thrown out of the castle because he only has a useless skill, but then a chapter or two later he's all of a sudden breaking orichalcum swords with his bare hands. Only once or twice in the earlier chapters does it show their status and there's a 30% increase in the girl's ability due to his ability. At no time do they then examine or explain how his ability affects himself or others outside of "he passively protects others".

[collapse]
Even as a fan of OP Isekai protagonists this story is pretty disgusting, as the MCs density is comparable to the MC from infinite stratos, and literally every character either wants to fight him since he looks weak or just acts like a dogs laying in a surrender pose to him, assuming they aren't female and therefore apparently want to have his kids. Even worse is that beyond the normal setting of "Demon king bad, we summoned heroes to fight them" this story honestly has no other world building.

I gave it a 2 because although there were some mistakes here and there in the translation it was at least pretty easily readable. If you want to read this story, you would be better off either reading the manga or pretty much anything else.

Doesn't live up to its potential.

I had some hopes for this series, but as of c29 I'm full of disappointment. The thing that kills this story is that the author has turned the MC into an overbearing a_hole. It'd be one thing if this was intentionally done for character growth, like if he had to realize how arrogant and brutal he was becoming, and rein himself in, but I fully believe it was just the author writing out some grudge-fulfillment fantasies. This pretty much breaks the story because it is... more>> impossible to reconcile the way he talks and acts towards his classmates and the way he treats the girls at the orphanage into the same character.

Had this been written more like a certain eyepatch wearing character in a 'commonplace' story, where he was simply indifferent to the classmates unless they stood in his way, it'd have been great. Instead we have two MC's basically. The MC who just wants to take care of the kids and protect them, and the MC who has an overbearing god-complex when dealing with his classmates or villains. <<less

The story starts good, it manage to draw attention to read, as cliche as it may be.

Unfortunately, as with many other stories, the quality only goes downhill after that, to the point at chapter 15-20+ the MC is more of a scum like his bully classmates, while it's an arguably makes sense in theory, the execution on the story is the worst way to portray that, including the MC's god complex. The web novel should have "Unreliable narrator" tag at this point.

The pacing is too fast for me to digest,... more>> the story should have spend a bit more time to do world building or in the very least, include his status (and the girls) screen. I'm not sure if translator remove this part or it is not included in the source material. The lack of status information of the enemy or the mc's party really hurt this novel, especially since it was shown in the start of the novel. <<less

Rushed, the pacing is way too fast. The first chapter starts at the orphanage which is fine because it goes into a flashback. Then it skims over the summoning and everything around it, all we know are his two skills and then he gets kicked out.
Spoiler

Beast girl attacks him or something and he realizes his skill is OP, it gets 'better' when he pats her and she tells him only her master can do it. He apologizes and stops, she then begs him to be her master.

[collapse]
Keep in mind that all of this is in the first chapter

Thats when I just stopped, I'm not gonna rate since I only read the first one, but I see no potential for this

Certainly, it's bad if you take it as a serious story. BUT. If you take it as a parody isekai, it's a thing of beauty. I found myself laughing out loud several times along the way. It's funnier to me than most stories tagged 'Comedy'. Maybe that's not what the author intended, but it's what I've gotten out of it so far.

I think what I like most is how blatant everything is. Beautiful girls meet him and decide to marry him within minutes of their first meeting. Opponents get beaten... more>> up and humiliated with a wave of his hands, sometimes without him even doing anything. Then everyone on his side praises him incessantly. Basically, it does everything that makes isekai stories bad, but so outrageously that it becomes a joke. I highly recommend it to fans and foes of isekai alike, as long as you're willing to not take it seriously.

Oh, and if you've come here from the manga, it's very different. Don't expect to pick up where you left off. <<less

I have kept reading this in the, inane, hope that maybe the MC would get better, but he really doesn't. He slides between being ultra dense when it comes to the Girls, completely missing the fact that they like him, which is something that annoys me about a lot of MC's, but he REALLY takes it to the extreme, personally, I think he is a bit worse then the MC from IS, but that's just my humble opinion, but when it's not the girls, it's his uber humility, which is... more>> ridonkulous, "Why, yes my stats are God-Tier, but that doesn't mean my cooking is better than this local diner!" His status is way OP, which we haven't seen since the early chapters, but I can only imagine how much they have exploded since, but not only does he act as if his actions are below average, he often laments being to talented, so a bit of Narcissism tossed on in a way that just makes no sense, and leaves one feeling incredulous about the character, and the story itself. At this point, there seems to be no redeeming points, as they added the Demon King to the Harem about a handful of chapters ago, and just added another in the these last few. Honestly, the story feels more like someone with quite a bit of inferiority complexes decided to write an Isekai for himself and just went hog wild. I'm done with it. It gets 1-star because you can't leave less.... <<less

One thing you have to realize about this novel is, it's slightly satire. It takes tropes and enhances them to absurd levels in order to point out the idiocy of them. The MC is also extremely arrogant as well as being extremely humble, two opposites that really shouldn't exist. If we were to look at the story seriously then something must have happened to him in the past to have him end up like this. He is an extremely intelligent person, but seems to have turned his entire school against... more>> him because of his straight forward way of thinking and talking. He's s*upidly talented, even in the original world and he see's it somewhat like a curse. He wants to be normal. It's like that one House episode with the genius that purposely took medication to make himself dumber. His excuse was, "you don't understand what it's like being married to someone that can't even comprehend 1 10th of what your talking about". That really wasn't arrogance, he had really loved the woman, but couldn't stand not being able to have a conversation with her and realized he would never be able to have a conversation with ANYONE. So he took a medication that made him dumber as a result. It's the same thing here, he's so s*upidly talented and strong that it's "lonely".

This causes him to have a strange complex in which he doesn't believe anything he does is worthy of any praise, since it's just a product of his own talent and not "hardwork". Because he has this complex, he is incapable of viewing anyone as potential girlfriend material. Since he's always convinced they're in love with him because of his talent, that's it, they love his talent. He'll make excuses, like that they're young and when they grow up they'll find men much better than he is. Even though he see's himself as being a close existence to god.

Because of his straight forward personality, combined with his intelligence and overwhelming power. He is also extremely kind to children, this has caused him to slowly inadvertently gather a harem by chapter 40 lmao, he has no idea yet. <<less

well I will review the novel. I like the story but there are some fatal flaw. This is my opinion

1. MC op but it is come nowhere. Why I said so? Because he summoned and got kick out because his skill are appraisal and protect. Appraisal is common skill but protect is buff like skill, it is give people under him buff. Cinfirmed on chap 1 when he saved the animal eared girl because he protect her she got better and healing in fast speed. But after some chapter he... more>> (himself) got op his magic more than 10 S rank adventures where did he got so much power? It is come nowhere

2. After killing dragon he got new enemy. Then he said " oh you are evil god's lackey right" damn where is this evil god come? Nobody mention it. They got summoned because war betwen human and demon right?

3. He said he want live normaly but when knight or holy knight make trouble then he said "in this country my words are my rule " damn where he got that personality? I am not blaming him to tr*sh the knight but his word are nonsense

4. He always calling other people who opposed him tr*sh (his posiition us superior than them) this is make him same as them look down people who weaker than him and said " because they are tr*sh I need to remind them " or " oh they more mad but I only said tge truth " oh come on MC you are just same as them. <<less

Yep, this novel doesnt need to taken seriously, like at all. Dont put brain on.

Story about MC summoned to isekai, got thrased to orphanage and somehow loli comes after to him. Then usual generic isekai plot happened.

Its not bad novel, I think it more like author blatantly write to fullfill his dream, so writing whatever he does so he purposely do bad writing.

... more>> First, the MC is hypocrite borderline arrogant and humble.. Act really something close like god to people arround.

Second, all girls heroine are loli except spirit girl probably. I'm really think author is lolicon xD jk. All good development arround MC involved lolis, lolis and lolis.

Third, the villain pretty much 1 hit ko everytime and doesnt really have much detail. All his classmate are a**holes, and im thinking MC one of them too lol.

Last, but crucial the plot is so simple and really lacking of detail from first chapter. All girl pretty much fallen to him in first meet and MC always denial about their feeling. Filler is about producing good food, good stuff like soap etc like every other generic isekai novel. Pretty much most enemies he encounter doesnt get killed.. No much tension at all.

Overall, I dont really recommend this.. Try to not think logical (use brain) while reading this and probably it would be good to fill your boredom. I'm really think author purposely writing something like this, thus he succeded in that way. 3/5 <<less

Nice story, MC has the my way or no way type of personality that you rarely see in any characters lately. This reminds me a little bit of Konjiki no Word Master, where innocent bystander is stronger than the combined strength of 4 heroes.

I came here from the manga since the manga did catch my interest. I know web novels can be different from their LN/Manga counterparts, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse, and sadly this falls into the latter story.

In the manga, we can truly see his personality. He's just indifferent, probably a bit oblivious to things around him, and he has low self-esteem since he was basically neglected, abused, and traumatized during his childhood. Overall, we do see that his character doesn't fluctuate that much, he just wants... more>> to protect the orphanage, and the girls living there. He probably sees himself as more of their "guardian" so the love that their showing to him, might seem as childish crushes since they are young. So in line a bit stereotypical indifferent, but still kind character.

In the webnovel, his character is completely different. We don't even know what his character even is since he always changes from every 2-3 chapters. If he has two opposite characters, and one serves as a persona for him while he shows his more kinder and true side to the orphans, that's acceptable. Maybe he has begun to realize that he's not all that weak, so he's gotten a bit bolder, but got carried away and now finally got his head on straight again and focus on the thing that really matters to him, the orphans and the girls that's cool. But nope, he goes from irritatingly overly humble, s*upidly dense (the girls f*cking like you, they said it like 10000X times, even their strength increases when you praise them, what the hell more do you want?, even if they who*e themselves out to you, you'd still make a dumb excuse too), to wuxia like as*hole god-complex. Oh, look at me, I'm on top, I'm godlike, You can't compare to me, I make the rules, you're the bottom, bow down back and forth all the time.

I was hoping for a chill slice of life novel, with a chill MC. This feels more like a grudge wish-fulfillment fantasy of an edgy 14 year old with an inferiority-complex. <<less

Please correct me if it changes in future chapters, but the writing is just horrific. Like forget the MC and everything, the whole story is a collection of 5 to 10 word sentences that feel like it should be in a grade school's intro to reading list. It's just a collection of actions, with no explanation or detail at all, it's just "X did Y" endlessly. Not sure if it's lost in translation or it's just that bad, but it doesn't even come close to pulling you into the story.

Other... more>> characters are impossibly flat, they don't even feel two dimensionally, it's like they're just a line...

Not to mention the world and 'plot' is just nonsensical, which could work as comedy if it was written better or seemingly as a comedy... Like in chapter 3 there are spies/assassins who are supposed to be insanely powerful, the best in the kingdom, possibly even the whole continent, people that S Rank adventurers would struggle bitterly against. The leader of these elite spies/assassins immediately screams their affiliated kingdom's name the instant he encounters the MC...

Biggest issue I have is the MC is annoying, so s*upidly annoying. He's "humble" to an annoying degree, which is a cultural thing I know, but it becomes arrogance quickly. MC is condescending to enemies, but also to the girls in his orphanage too. He treats everyone as lesser than him, and looks down on them in an unbelievably and infuriatingly arrogant manner. And he just feels like a middle schooler suffering from unimaginably strong chuuni, trying to act all aloof and dark and mysterious. It feels pathetic, not cool, it's not even comedic like most chuuni ends up being, it's just sad and pitiful.

The story ends up just feeling like weird, chuuni-fueled wish fulfilment. Feel free to give it a try yourself, obviously, but this one's definitely not for me. <<less

I was so excited about this story. BOY was I let down. This novel reads like a first grade book. "See Pug Run"
See Pug run.
"Run, Pug! Run!"
Hear Pug bark.
"Bark, Pug! Bark!"
"Woof! Woof!"

Especially the 3rd chapter. OH GOD!!! It broke the limits of s*upidity. It was worse than reading the script to a 2nd grade (US) play. Had to drop right then as I literally felt brain cells dying.

On another note, the translating was okay. Not good, not terrible, but okay.

It’s somewhat readable? It’s mildly entertaining for a while but there’re a lot of problems.
There’s almost no world building so all we know about places is what’s vaguely mentioned in conversations. There’s no explanations of MCs skills or status other than a vague couple sentences in early chapters, to the level where it seems like the author is avoiding giving him an actual status. The author doesn’t really give the MC an actual personality, it flips from him thinking very little of himself to him talking from a point... more>> of thinking of himself as an all powerful god, goes back and forth frequently even in a single paragraph. <<less
